Five stars. This is the real deal. I was craving some Turkish food and wound up here at this divine Lebanese restaurant. This place did not disappoint. Despite being on a vegetarian diet, the owners made fresh veggie-friendly dishes completely from scratch and gave us free sampling of their favorite foods as well. It was that Mid-East hospitality that I was really craving. The falafel is handmade and is the first I've ever had that didn't need any dipping sauces. The hummus is out of this world good, full of texture and flavor. It was melt-in-your-mouth good. I loved the constant refilling of teas and chatting with the owner and the hearty laughter from the dinner party having a mad good time. I ordered for pick up so I can't say anything about their service but the Falafel I had was really delicious and different from the typical Greek that I'm used to. The food was the freshest we've had in years. Everything, we were told , was cooked to order. The spinach pie and hummus were to die for. This place is a crowd pleaser. The vegetarian options are plentiful and delicious. I had the vegetarian combo and it was great. If you like meat they have everything from lamb kebob, which my friend said was great, and they even have Kibbeh Nayyeh (raw seasoned meat) for the adventurous. Rude owner...Buffet food was typical of restaurants -over cooked dishes that have sat there in the chafing bins for a time, rice was dry and tasteless. I grew up eating every Sunday dinner with a Lebanese family so I know a thing or two about Lebanese food. I ate lunch there today and I have to rave about the food. it was so fresh. I only eat lamb a few times a year as I find it's taste somewhat strong, but I had the grilled lamb kabob with Morrocan tea and it was so flavorful without that strong lamb aftertaste. I asked the owner/chef why it was so good and he told me it was because of how they marinate the lamb first. I asked for it well done, but he suggested medium rare so it wouldn't dry out the meat. His recommendation was spot on. The grilled veggies were great too. I have to talk about hsi home made pita bread. It was absolutely superb. I'm coming back Friday or Saturday for the buffet dinner. I can't wait to taste the other dishes he makes. The Morrocan green tea with mint was really good too. I was the only patron for lunch so there was almost no wait time. If you want to try really fresh cooking, find this place. You won't be disappointed. read more

Great lunch today at Aladdin's! When I walked in it was strangely quiet and only one other table was seated. It took a few minutes of slightly uncomfortable waiting to be greeted. I found out later it is because the staff is limited to the owner. I trusted the Yelp reviews and am so glad I did. I ordered the Shish Kabob lunch platter and hummus. It was perfection! The meal starts with a fresh green salad with delightful homemade dressing. Lamb was tender, well seasoned and accompanied by wonderfully charred grilled veggies and rice. I had to update my review after eating here more than a dozen times. It is so refreshing to have food cooked to order and served with such earnestness and pride. My personal, hands down favorite meal is the chicken shawarma over the best hommos on planet earth. I get so excited that over-ordering has become standard and I leave with as much as I've already eaten! The owner and the server are warm and wonderful people and want to please each customer. On the nights that fresh spinach pies are made, I try to snag a couple dozen for our freezer. Call me crazy but, I love them for breakfast. Also, the pitas....hot chunks dunked in hommos. The homemade salad dressing is delish and, I wish they sold it. There is something about the fattoush that is so special but, I can't put my finger on it. The serving is very large and could actually be a lunch, with a side of pita. It is definitely a shareable-sized salad. Hubby is a fan of the shish-kabab, rare, and the beef shawarma over rice. He also likes the baklava for the perfect ending to the perfect meal. I'm not much of a dessert person but, the rice pudding (a special) was lovely. Selfishly, I'm glad that the restaurant is never crowded. It's in a shabby little strip and easy to miss. Perhaps that's what makes it so special.....quiet and simple.
