This is very much an owned and proud to own business. I was happily greeted by a gentleman that seemed to own or take ownership of this place. The smell of the meet cooking was fantastic. I was here to get some Kibbeh for my wife, that was so good I was not able to take pictures of them. This place has been here for more than 20 years but it's easy to miss. Very good food. This is small restaurant/market on colonial. The people there were all very friendly and the food came out quickly. I ordered the special of the day, stuffed chicken. It was a lot of food and would have been great to split with someone else. The Tzatziki sauce was so good, one of my favorites ever. Moving to Orlando meant leaving behind a community I had built for myself where I used to live, including connections to locals who could reliably supply groceries that allowed me to cook the food of my father's family. It's difficult to express how meaningful it is to find an upstanding establishment that serves as a pillar to YOUR community. Besides the selection of more niche groceries (reasonably priced, and often in bulk size!), their deli food is phenomenal, with a wide range of sweet and savory options. My only regret after eating the falafel sandwich is that I finished it before I had a chance to take a picture. The proprietors were friendly and patient, and created an atmosphere such that every customer felt like a distant cousin come to visit. I strongly recommend any people of Middle Eastern, North African, or Middle Eastern descent give Cedar Halal a try - and all the rest of Orlando for that matter - as I will definitely be returning in the future. read more

Wonderful little Lebanese counter service style deli in a convenient location on Colonial, right next door to the Alafaya Public Library. The staff were so nice and friendly, instantly made the vibes feel so good. We got falafel sandwiches, hummus and tabouleh. Everything was great and tasted flavorful. The falafel was seasoned so well and had a nice texture. I do wish the sandwich had some more sauce in it but the flavor of the falafel helped to make up for it. The hummus was a delight. The tabouleh was fresh and not sour. They also had a collection of foreign sodas and we tried the Frutti Extra which tastes exactly like a sweet melon drink you could find at the soda tasting station at Epcot. Great experience overall. Staff was friendly, food came out fast, warm and delicious and there was a tiny Mediterranean market inside to peruse as one waits for the food. Price wasn't bad either. $8.79 for the falafel sandwich, $6.99 for the hummus and $5.49 for the tabouleh I believe. read more

The atmosphere is very casual like a NY style takeout place, but please don't allow that to detract from the overall charm. Because within the store there was a lovey mini grocery shop with wonderful finds. My husband got the lamb and I got the shawarma. Let me tell you, the rice was perfectly spiced and aromatic! The hummus, garlic sauce, and tzatziki were all absolutely divine. The pickled turnips were to die for! They were a very pleasant surprise. Our meal was served with pita bread, and between the food and sauce, we nearly ran out of table space. This is comfort food that warms your soul. You can taste the time, effort, and spices that went into each dish with love. My husband's lamb was falling off the bone. That takes time. The friendly attentiveness was unexpected but so welcoming and genuine. They were sincerely caring. We were offered more pita, more utensils, my husband received an extra portion of gyro meat just because he still looked hungry. Well, mission accomplished because he was full by the end of the meal. Which is impressive because he is a big guy who normally leaves restaurants still feeling hungry. Oh, and we both were offered the most amazing herbal tea. Just be careful though, because it is piping hot. The aroma and flavor were simply enchanting. Very good. We will most certainly be back for more. Food was delicious as usual and very affordable. We ordered the lamb shank dinner for $19.99. You normally can't get a lamb shank for under $30 so to say I was pleased would be an understatement. As someone that grew up surrounded by middle eastern food, everything here tasted like home. The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful. I loved the lamb kapsi, and the fresh coffee was brewed to perfection. It was also my first time trying garlic yogurt and guava juice, which were both fantastic. Even though the shopping section doesn't look large, the selection is well-rounded and stocked full of surprises! I really like this place, they have hot food, lots of pastries, sandwiches, plus the supermarket stuff like salads, cold cuts, breads, etc. As all ethnic places, sometimes ordering food is weird and a hassle, but once you get your food, you're good. I've been getting several dishes here. Everything I have eaten here is been tops, sometimes not my favorite, but still good. Like, I have a favorite place for kebabs, another for yellow rice, another for falafel sandwiches, another for gyro sandwiches, etc, and this place doesn't beat my favorite places but still, it is reliable and in my neighborhood. I have heard people mention the prices, I guess food can always be cheaper, but I have no problem paying their prices. Plus, there are lots of imported products, the food is halal, I am guessing it all adds up. If you want to sit down, there are tables, otherwise order take-out.
