We had a great time at Claudiana. I had a reservation for a Monday night, but didn't really need it. We got there early and were promptly seated. The staff had some confusion as it appears that they had another group reservation at the same time. No real impact to us other than the staff ignored us until they worked things out. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The Mediterranean salad was good as were the other apps. Eventually, we ordered our dinner. That came out shortly after. I had the shrimp and sausage arrabiatta which was a little spicy and tasty with fettuccine noodles. No dessert for us this night Good food. Never rushed. I can never get enough of Claudiana Italian Restaurant! I've been a regular here for a few years now, and I have to say it gets better every visit! When you walk through the door, you immediately feel welcome. The owners are always present and might even come up to your table to introduce themselves. The kitchen is extremely accommodating, offering gluten free options and any substitutes that we request. I highly recommend starting with a bowl of the wedding soup. In this soup, you will find spinach, meatballs, pieces of shredded chicken, and acini di pepe pasta. This soup is always a great way to the start meal. It will likely come out steaming hot, so be prepared to wait a few minutes while it cools. In the meantime, you can snack on some bread that will arrive at your table around the same time. Once you've finished your soup and bread basket, it's time for the mean course. My go-to is the chicken parmesan. Their homemade pasta is my highlight every time and it goes perfectly with their marinara sauce. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and covered in the marinara sauce. Parmesan cheese is sprinkled onto the chicken and it truly is the last piece of the puzzle. I'm not the biggest fan of cheese, yet I thoroughly enjoy the small topping they add. While I've had the pleasure to try most things on menu, the chicken parmesan and wedding soup really strand out to me. Other favorites include the gnocchi, chicken marsala, rigatoni bolognese, chicken caprese, and shrimp and sausage arrabbiata. Claudiana's is great for a special night out or a casual dinner. They have a back room that can accommodate occasions like graduations and rehearsal dinners. If it's not in use for a party, it operates as a second dining area. Tucked away in a shopping center near Polaris Mall, this place is excellent. Step inside and you're no longer in a strip mall, you are transported to a stylish Italian restaurant that could be in any downtown trendy restaurant area. The hostess was welcoming and friendly, be sure to make a reservation in advance as it was a bit crowded but not overly noisy. Our waiter, Jack, was prompt and helpful though we never heard the daily specials. The noodles are homemade and delicious. I would have preferred a bit more spice to the spaghetti and meatballs but I probably should have just asked for some red peppers flakes; so that's on me. The shrimp scampi was creamy and delivered a fresh flavor but maybe a bit too much on the capers. Fresh Parmesan cheese was a nice touch. The bread was delish but we had to ask for it. Last night spur of the moment we were driving by Claudiana, we walked in hopes to get a table. We were in luck. The restaurant smelled so good. Andrew our server was attentive, knowledgeable and funny. My husband had a chicken caprese dinner and I had a seafood dish. It was so delicious I considered having my left overs for breakfast. Let's just say it's a nice place for a date night. Low lights low music good food. Very nice. It was a little chilly but it was bearable. The service was very nice. Reservation should always be used. The one thing I would like would be higher booths so it feels more intimate. Some people still talk very loudly and it can be distracting. Our candle at the table didn't get lit but our server was great. The red sauce was creamy and the veggies were fresh. The cannoli was very good also. Parking was easy. The atmosphere was nice; the people were friendly and everyone seemed to kind of know everyone. I thought it was a little odd when it said on the menu: Ask about gluten free options and when I asked: Can I do a potato instead of fettucine? The server had to go get permission. You can't switch a potato for pasta easily? She did it, but she said entrees are all set with sides which just seemed arbitrarily difficult and that they don't normally do that. I've never seen that anywhere considering the menu told you to ask for gluten free lol My Caesar salad was good. My Marsala: the sauce was amazing, but the chicken was a teeny half a breast portion that was cold. I didn't have the heart to tell her. Surprisingly, it wasn't overpriced. I probably will go back at some point, but the Marsala and the shriveled-up hash brown type potatoes weren't great... I must say..I had higher expectations coming here. I was not impressed at all. It is in the middle of a random strip mall. I understand they are trying to be fancy, but it is just not happening. The staff was a bit odd. The bread shouldn't be the best part of my meal. They made it aware that if we wanted bread, it was 25 cents per roll..kinda chincy for a white table cloth place. My parents split a bottle of Chardonnay..they liked it. We ordered Calamari as an app. I probably have had better Calamari at Red Lobster. It was definitely frozen or at least not fresh by any means. I got a Chicken Pasta dish. I make better chicken at home. Nothing had flavor to the dish. I was very disappointed, especially with the prices. We had reservation for 7 and were seated at 7:15. Our order was placed by 7:24 and we made it clear that we needed to leave by 9 to make it to our 9:15 movie. After more than 90 minutes, we still didn't have our food, one member of our party went to look for our server. The server wouldn't make eye contact with her so she asked for a manager. She was told the manager was busy helping in the kitchen. We were told that our food was being plated and it would be out shortly. Chicken Marsala was lukewarm, seafood in the risotto was lukewarm. Server said our check would be right out, which took another 15 minutes. We watched a table that was sat 60 minutes after us get their food. The manager came out while we were leaving, instead of apologizing and owning that a mistake was made, she argued with multiple people in our party. It was very clear that our order didn't get placed when we gave it to our server. We would have been happy if someone would have just apologized. We've been coming here over 20 years and this will be the last. We all regret that we've recommended it to anyone. Very disappointed when the food is so good. read more

There were some hits and some misses. We ordered a bottle of red wine. It was a little warm for my taste. I had a Caesar salad and it was soggy. The flavors were there but soggy. The wedge salad was good. The calamari, good. We ordered the ravioli and that was the star. It had a creamy pesto. I had the filet. It was cooked great. Really no seasoning. The broccoli was almost raw and cold. The veal chop. That was good. The asparagus was okay. So all in all, it was okay. It was expensive, so the misses should really not be there. read more

We visited for the first time this past weekend. Overall the food was good, food service was pretty slow though. We waited a long time for our salads and meals. And don't forget you're charged extra if you ask for another basket of bread!! There was no mention of that when we asked for a second basket. I went to Claudiana's with my daughter for my birthday. The server takes our orders, and my daughter specifically asked for her meal to have no cheese on it. If you knew my daughter, you would know that that is a big deal to her. After a pretty long, wait to get our meals, although the place was not super busy, the server comes over and informs my daughter that they made a mistake when they made her meal and put cheese on it. Would it be OK for her to have it with the cheese? My daughter response truthfully no, I do not like it. The server goes well you know there's cheese inside the sauce. And my daughter again says she doesn't want any additional cheese on her meal. About a minute or two later, the server comes with both of our plates and you can tell that they did not remake her meal, but just mixed the cheese into the plate, and didn't even do a good job at that. So my daughter picked around a little bit but didn't eat the meal, and didn't take it home. I don't expect this type of service and thought it would be better. I used to like to go to Claudiana's but I don't think I will be returning. read more

The food is nicely prepared, service is more than satisfactory, the atmosphere is "large TV that you can't get away from". We'd eat here much more often if it wasn't for the large screen TV behind the bar. Half of the diners must face the screen... I'm giving it 2 stars because the server was really nice, and the ambiance was pretty good- attractive inside, with Italian music playing. It's 1 star food, with 4 star service and a 5 star price. You get one piece of hard bread a person, and have to pay extra every time you get another piece of bread. The food wasn't very good- especially considering how much the bill was. It was almost $225 w/tip for 3 people. The salmon was very dry and bland- I had to ask for a side of sauce to make it palatable. The ravioli was supposed to have ground beef in it, but you couldn't even tell there was meat in there. We let the server know about the lack of meat, and she said they buy the raviolis, so sometimes they're like that. The special risotto was good, as was the tiramisu. I think they have a good mix of entrees- the concept is good, they just need to get fresher ingredients, and season their food . And there is no way they should be charging $20 for the ravioli. It was supposed to have ground beef, but there was hardly any (we couldn't find any). It was approx 10 small raviolis, which they didn't even heat it up all the way. You could tell they Just boiled them quickly (not long enough), and then poured a little red sauce on them. Very bland. We were so excited when we walked in- it smelled so good, the service was friendly, and it was welcoming inside. But we won't be going back. read more

Had dinner here awhile back and this is about the third time a been here . It's a very nice Italian place . The food is always good but this time I ordered the lasagne which was good but not very warm so I caught the eye of someone and motion him over . I told him that it wasn't very warm and he took my plate and walked off . No apology or anything. He brought it back and set it in front of me and said nothing . He later was walking by another table and looked over at me and asked me if it was ok . This was the owner of the place and I felt he wasn't very friendly. I'm sure he wants his staff to be friendly so as the owner he needs to set an example. We ordered the baklava for desert and it was served cold , I always had it warm. Yelp never steers you wrong! I looked over all the reviews and pictures before making a reservation here. So, I kind of knew what to expect. I called in late in the week for a Saturday night reservation and was lucky enough to get one from Bruna. So it all started well. The place is exactly how it's described - a quaint, more upscale restaurant, situated in an unassuming strip mall in Polaris. The clientele looked like it was more of be an older generation. We were seated right away, and the staff seemed very friendly. Our waiter, Andrew, was very good. He knew the menu well and guided us through our choices, along with describing the specials of the night. He basically helped me pick my drink and also my entrée. Our table opted for the house red (my choice), a Moscato spritzer, and an Italian beer. Bread service was offered shortly thereafter. Slowly, people started to come in for dinner, and it got kind of crazy. We were in the back room with several large tables, and it got pretty loud. It was never too overwhelming for us though, so we were still fine. Our entrées all arrived in a timely fashion. There's really nothing too fancy to note about the plating. I thought the food was well done however, nothing extraordinary, except for the homemade pasta. That was fantastic. It was very light and smooth. One thing you may want to know is it's not cooked al dente. This was a bit of a disappointment for my son, but he said it was fine. The entree that caused problems was my chicken Parmesan. The chicken was raw on the inside. From the texture of it, I could also tell that it seemed frozen and not fresh. It took a bit get our waiter, because again it was quite busy. When he did come, he was apologetic and asked if I wanted it taken off the bill or another one. I opted for another one, but only if, it came out within a reasonable time before the rest of my party was done. It did come out quite fast. However, I think they may have cooked it a little over this time because the chicken was tough. I didn't wanna make a big deal about it, so I just let it go. strangely, there was no other compensations offered for my inconvenience pass the apology. Typically, other more customer service oriented dining establishments would've offered a complementary drink or dessert, if not comping the entree. Nbd though, since I wasn't going to nitpick during a special occasion dinner. I asked for additional bread and butter, while I waited for my entrée to be redone, but was told there was an additional fee for extra bread service. Again, very odd to nickel and dime bread especially under this circumstance. But again, whatever. All in all, I'd say the ambiance is nice, parking is plentiful and convenient, staff was friendly and efficient, food was good but not fantastic, and I like the fact it's a small business & family owned. I wouldn't say the food matches some of the "hidden gem" hype around this place and I definitely felt alittle annoyed about their semi stingy policies, all of which have been pointed out by other Yelp reviewers. I probably would have given them one more star if my meal came out better, or if they had handled it in a more munificent manner. read more

Which was fine, we weren't in a huge rush. We ordered our wine and our food. I had the veal marsala and was very good as usual. My mom ordered her usual Lasagna. When she started eating, she said it was not very warm so we looked for our server, took a while but finally we got the eye of another server. Later to find out the owner, Artie. Now I know they may have been busy, but he was just plain rude. My mom said it was not warm, he did not say anything grabbed the plate and went back to kitchen. Later came back and dropped it in her front of her and left. What? He did come by later real cook and said hot enough? No sorry about that or nothing. Disclaimer: Had the opportunity to try out this venue due to a wedding reception. We were in a private room and had dedicated staff. The room was wonderfully decorated, there was wine on the table when we arrived. Our server was there to take our drink order as soon as we sat down. We had ordered in advance as part of the RSVP, so I had chosen prior to the meal being served. The salad was first, it had a great house dressing and the lettuce had a great crunch. The main course was the chicken piccata. It was delightful! A bright, citrus sauce with capers was atop a juicy chicken breast with a side of pasta. I could eat the sauce alone with a spoon! Goodness what a miss in all honesty. This place was highly recommended and after consideration, we booked a party of 11 a week in advance. Service took over 2.5 hours and the food was one of the worst meals I've had in Columbus. No one was happy with their meals and appetizers, drinks, as well as entrees took forever while the restaurant was empty. Can't comprehend this one and would advise to skip.
