Beware!!! Do not use!!! Horrible! Tony who came to groom my cat was rude, unprofessional and threatening. He charged me $185 for 15 minutes of terrible quality sloppy work and became hostile when I questioned the pricing. My cat was left with knots and pieces of fur hanging down. (See photos). I had requested a bath when I booked the appointment and was told they could bathe him but Tony refused to bathe the cat. He also left fur all over the floor in the bathroom. We took advantage of the $15 weekend nail trims at their storefront on Lincoln Avenue. It was very easy. I called first and they said to just drop in with my dog. I want to share my experience to help set expectations for future customers. I booked an appointment with Alameda Mobile Grooming after seeing positive reviews online. I spoke directly with the owner, Tony, to schedule the service. During that conversation, it was never mentioned that they do not use a grooming van and instead require either in-home or yard access. Based on the business name, I (incorrectly) assumed this was a van-based mobile grooming service. Had this been clearly communicated on the call, I would not have booked the appointment, as we don't have the space to accommodate in-home grooming. On the day of the appointment, the groomer arrived about an hour late and only then informed us that the grooming would need to be done inside our home or outside. Unfortunately, neither option was workable due to a very small bathroom and a muddy yard. The larger issue for me was how the situation was handled afterward. I attempted to contact Tony over the next 48 hours to resolve the miscommunication and request a refund of my deposit, which I felt was reasonable given the circumstances. When I finally heard back, the response was dismissive and unprofessional, and I felt talked down to rather than worked with. I don't take any joy in leaving a negative review, and I'm sure Tony has clients who are happy with his services. That said, if you're specifically looking for a mobile groomer with a van, this is not that service. And based on my experience, I'd also suggest being cautious as a new client if any issues or misunderstandings arise. read more

Recently loss my dog groomer after 30 years, and senior dog (14) is looking for someone new. After contacting alameda mobile animal care, I set up the appt on Saturday, Domiyanah, our groomer, she was excellent, my wife explained to her that our dog maybe scared due to new groomer and may needed the muzzle while nail trimming, she told her she will be extra cares on him, 45 mins later, my baby is cleaned, nails are trimmed and best of all, Domiyanah told us he was great and no needed to use muzzle, what a relief, I'm so happy with their services and super kind care to our senior dog, we will bring our dog here from now on and yes, it's highly recommended! Where do I begin? I'm so thankful that I found this place. It's so hard to find a grooming place that does bigger dogs and I'm so happy I found this one. We had a place we used to go to but they don't to large dogs anymore so we were grateful this place came into our lives. Angela and Eli came this morning and were amazing with our dog. I've been using Tony and his staff's services for years because my cat hates traveling and going to the vet. I appreciate his efficiency in coming in, getting set up, and quickly giving my cat her biannual lion/tiger's cut (I like the tail left and not the fluffy ball tip). I groom her more for fur management and for her own grooming capabilities. He starts with a nail trim then jumps right in, usually finishing up in 30 minutes. If it weren't for his mobile services, I would choose not to get my cat groomed. Some pets don't have the temperament and could make it dangerous to themselves or groomers. If your pet is aggressive or very fearful towards groomers - maybe consider not getting them groomed or taking them somewhere where they could be sedated, like I had to do with one of my other cats (a 20 lb beast). Tony makes everything easy and his rates are reasonable for the fantastic services he provides. And yep - she looks ridiculous but is so much happier after his visits! read more

I recently adopted an older, blind dog and wanted to make sure that grooming was as easy as possible for my new friend. 1. Tony cut our cat's whiskers and didn't let us know. When we asked he said it's because she was moving around - no apology, no "FYI this happened" when we paid him. You're NEVER supposed to cut a cat's whiskers so obviously they don't know what they're doing (no other groomer has ever done this, naturally). 2. He doesn't wear a mask in your home because "it fogs up his glasses". No warning of this either, just shows up to your front door with a mask at his chin. (We ended up leaving during the appointment so we didn't have 4 people in a small space), and of course, allowed him to hazardously cut our cat's whiskers. 0/10 recommend - don't use this service for your fur babies! read more

I could not be more pleased with Tony and company. They do all cat grooming in your home. Although I said if she requires full grooming please do it, Tony trimmed her nails and gave her a sanitary shave. He told me that she did not need a bath, her coat was in great condition and showed me how to comb her. Although I did purchase my grooming comb from him he told me that I could've gotten it on Amazon. It was refreshing not to be uphold! They treated her so gently. I'm so impressed. Giving a 1 star because that's the bare minimum but honestly this service deserves a 0. We had an appointment scheduled for 9 am today and they called us last minute to cancel it. We had sedated our cat so he would be calm through the process and they had no courtesy to honor the appointment. Beyond happy with my dog's cut. Tonys team was great. I have a 1 year old dog named Kobe in desperate need of his first cut. He is a mini goldendoodle and has a lot of thick hair. I scheduled an appointment in the beginning of April. I believe it was Angie/ Angela ( I hope this is right because she was the best!!!) who came with a gentleman. They set up their table in the backyard. I did talk to them quite a bit about what I was looking for. Angela took such good care of my dog. She kept it his hair long in the face and trimmed his body. Yes - these types of dogs get matted fur. She told me how just 5 minutes a day would get them out. She also warned me that if I didn't get the matts out by the next cut my dog would need to be trimmed down. I appreciated her advice. She recommended I use a different brush as well. I really wanted to like this but I can't. I'm hoping this review will help inform others looking for a dog groomer--this is NOT A GROOMER. This was a medicalized full-body shaving. TO THE SKIN. My dog did have some matting but this crew literally shaved my dog to the skin. He has countless bloody sores on parts on his body. He won't even let us pet him. For the past 3 days our dog will anxiously stop and drop to the ground, to feverishly lick the wound under his tail (which is now looking like it could be infected). His lips on both sides are raw and bloody. I was told they cleaned his ears "and pulled out all that ear in the outer canal." I hope that wasn't literal but fear it may have been. The entire process took less than 2 hours. To bathe, groom, clear ears, express anal glands, cut nails. I can only imagine how aggressive the process must have been to get it done so quickly. It probably was a cross between cow roping and sheep shorning. My dog is 100% traumatized. He's not himself at all. He cowers when we come to love him, hides in his crate when the family is in the living room (normally he would sit with us for cuddles). The first night of this he jumped into bed and tried to sleep between us (which he has NEVER done). I feel completely awful for putting him through this experienced. I'm sure this business is good for some of the services they offer but I would not suggest this for mobile grooming. They do one thing-shave the dog. That's all they offer. read more
