"The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown theater features a renovated, luxurious recliner seating, curated first-run movies, and cult classics. It offers full-service, from-scratch dining, craft beers, and cocktails delivered to your seat, enforcing a strict no-talking/no-texting policy. " Alamo is getting my touchas into the theater! Why? It really is an experience that I'm obsessing over..how could this post COVID, happy to be a couch potato and stream away moviegoer want to see movies IRL? Alamo is delivering first class service.. You enter the theater and you are greeted, yes, old fashioned"Hello, welcome to Alamo" wait where am I? Courtesy? Smiling employees.. I'm Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz! The theater is well designed, elevator and escalators to get you to the multitude of theaters. Here's what I really love.. -the in dining service! Bottomless popcorn, pretzel with queso ( nice serving!) and mustard, shakes, burgers ( The Royale with Cheese!), fries, desserts, bottomless beverages.. whew! A smorgasbord at your fingers! Scan the bar code, employee comes over and let the service begins! The pretzel is my fave! - seating: comfy recliners, no " big head worries"( hey I'm 5'1"! These head blockers obscure everything with all due respect!) - cleanliness -all new movies and classics! - no texting/talking. Yes folks, the kindly neighbor who hears your excessive chitchat, presses a button and as in baseball " Strike three, you're out!" -most Alamos are in malls, Staten Island is in Hylan Boulevard plaza where there's a wealth of shops pre or post movie. Alamo Downtown Brooklyn is in CitiPoint.. there is a Food Hall, Trader Joe's, Joybird and many more! Repeat after me: "ALAMO, ALAMO, ALAMO,where the movie lovers go! Alamo Drafthouse Cinema 445 Albee Sq West Take R train to Dekalb Avenue Station, exit at Fleet Street exit, Citi Point is 2 steps from Dekalb Station. Follow signs to Alamo Theater. Take escalator to 4th floor or elevator. Get those popcorn fingers ready.

Easy to purchase tickets online! Helpful greeter! Arrived early and they showed old clips of famous actors! We saw the QR code on tables and ordered via phone not realizing that their were humans also taking orders. I wished I was given the option. Ordered the malbec first time it came in a nice sized glass next time a smaller glass. No consistency. It felt almost like bait and switch. Popcorn wasn't give the option of no salt. My friend loved the wings and fries. I would go back but eat and drink before entering. Seats were comfy. Good crowd. The waiters look stressed. They also said when movie starts to write any additional food requests on paper and hold up. The waiters walked pass my waving card a few times.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas at City Point is located in Downtown Brooklyn in what used to be Albee Square Mall, it's now a decorative enclosed space. The lower level has an eclectic food court with so many unique food options it was hard to decide. There is a Sephora, Target, Trader joes and three floors of Primark along with shops from independent brands. The Alamo Cinema is on the 4th floor next to Court 16 a Tennis and Pickle ball court. Movie tickets are $19.99 and there is no concession stand, you order food and drinks from your seat and staff bring it to you. I suggest ordering the bottomless popcorn, it was enough for three of us, and we didn't need a refill. The food menu is reasonable price, the theater is clean. They have a strict late entry policy, our show was scheduled for 3:30, seating started at 3:15, however if you come later then 3:45 you will not be allowed to enter ! The escalators were not working inside the theater and a few were out of order inside the mall. The elevators weren't crowed and came frequently. I will visit again and splurge on a sandwich from Katz.

For mothers me and my daughter went to see devil wears Prada. Along with the an excellent movie we enjoyed bbq chicken tenders and fries and a cookie milkshake and I had fries and 2 glasses of wine. Cushioned seats and great service, I will be returning!!

My wife and I have enjoyed this theater several times with the old school ambiance and Great Customer service by sylvan d our server and the tasty wings . A date night out with the wife all in one place.

My partner and I decided to do dinner and a movie for Valentine's Day. We usually go to nitehawk movie theater, but he decided he'd like to try somewhere different. Turns out most of the employees were striking. They stated Alamo drafthouse had fired 70 employees across all chains illegally. We felt badly, but decided to go in, it was late and there would have been no opportunity to go to any other theater. Once inside, due to the strikes there was no food being served. Which was a no for me, because I hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was almost 9pm. However, because this theater is located in the city point mall, which has multiple restaurants downstairs. They allowed us to grab food and beverages and bring it in. A huge plus. The theater seemed clean and the staff that was present was very nice and accommodating. Going back would be determined on more research regarding this strike and the validity of the claims.

Comfortable theater seating

I went once with my husband, and the cinema was clean and comfortable. The attendants were kind and provided good service. The main issue I had was that the bathroom is located in the restaurant upstairs, which is far from the theaters and inconvenient if you need to use the restroom during a movie. Also, the Buffalo chicken wings were extremely salty, which negatively impacted the taste. Reducing the sodium would greatly improve the dish. I would still go again because I enjoyed the atmosphere of the theater and appreciated the service.

Alamo Drafthouse used to be fun but when I went here last week, not as much as before. I had trouble finding the correct theater - I initially went to the wrong one - there was no one around to help. During the film, there were frequent distractions with too many people walking back and forth in front of the screen, either guests or staff bringing food and drinks. The screen and sound system were fine. I enjoy having extra space to relax. If you can choose a seat, suggest picking one away from the door, fewer distractions. Alamo is a great theater experience overall.

Great location inside Albee square mall on the top floor. The theatre is clean. We saw Wicked and I wish the sound system was a little bit better because the music was amazing and I couldn't get the full sound effect for a movie like this. We had wine while watching n service is fast n friendly.

Ask the Community - Alamo Drafthouse

Do they serve alcohol?

Yep! Huge menu of it as well.

Do you have to order the food online with the tickets, or can I order food in person?

You order in person at your seat. You can order anytime, before or during the film.

What time does the box office open? I know the ticket machines can be used even when no one's at the front desk. But what if you want to speak to someone at the ticket booth?

It should be open about 11am

How can I tell which of the 7 theaters has reclining seats? Those straight seats are plush but are so uncomfortable after 2 hours!…

All of the theaters have reclining seats, but the catch is they're only located in the first row.

Do you need a ID to go In?

Minimum age of six years old at the Alamo with an adult. 17 and up to buy a ticket solo. https://drafthouse.com/nyc/theater/downtown-brooklyn/admission

Is there a break given between movies during a marathon? If so, how long?

Um..it depends on the movie lol...

How early should you get there before your movie?

I like to get there at least twenty minutes beforehand since it gives me time to use the restroom before I head into the theater. Then you have enough time to put in your food order before the movie starts so you don't have to worry about doing… Read more

Row 4 or Row 5 which is better?

Are there seats which a disabled person with trouble sitting/standing to fit comfortably? I've got knee/hip replacements...

They do have some seats for wheelchairs in each theater, if that is what you mean. Otherwise, rows are more spaced than your average theater as there is a table every two seats, meaning that you will be able to stretch your legs completely without… Read more

What would be the best row(s) to sit at in these theaters?

Anything a few rows back is good. The front row is a bit too close, but it's tolerable, and it has the bonus of an extendable footrest. The theaters are pretty small, so even the back rows are fine, although I always think the middle is best.

Does this place have loveseats?

No love seats, but there are seats that are grouped together in pairs.

What is exactly on ALAMO menu?

They have an extensive menu from burgers to hotdogs with varied toppings, flatbread, wings both hot and Thai, salads (huge), fries (also huge), chicken sandwiches, and my favorite the truffle parm popcorn. They have warm cookies (stop drooling) and… Read more

Does the Alamo serve breakfast/brunch options for the early showings?

Management told me that Alamo does a special brunch menu for the first two showings of each movie on Saturdays and Sundays.

I enjoyed their Crescent Dip, which is a hummus dip with whipped feta and comes with a massive chip. The Full Moon Rice I wasn't really a fan of. After those two, they came out with the entree, which they called Fire, Water, Earth; essentially beet, halibut, and short rib. These were alright, not amazing. The third and final course came during the intermission of the show, which was a bunch of dessert treats and they were delicious. The show itself was fantastic. It was more than just aerobics, has there are also singing, dancing, and violinist. You may get wet in the front so FYI. There's also some fire involved. Overall, a well put together show. (I'm assuming the grub came from the trattoria above us.) Lots of flavor, a few entrée options to pick from (made ahead of time) to appease any preferences or dietary restrictions. My only issue was whoever was working the salad station was entirely too heavy-handed with the sliced radishes. Ease up on those next time, partner. The show: exactly what you probably expect/fear/need/want - equal parts goofy and interesting, ridiculous and intriguing. It's well thought out, constructed and paced. (We were 'warned' from the start - how much 'we' put into it is what we'd be getting back out and that's legit... some people were completely "in it" and you could tell they loved every second of the adventure, whereas my in-laws started to fade after about 90 minutes.) I should fess up I was positive my "thinking outside of the box" was going to snag me the win but I completely flubbed and it's safe to assume my final guess was the WORST one of the night. (Some advice: pay attention to ALL the clues. Don't try to be too damn clever or it'll bite you in the rump!) The three hours went by smoothly... lots of laughs, lots of interacting with the other diners (suspects!) as well as the actors and before you knew it - crimes were being solved, tabs were being closed and it was time to head back into the cruel streets of the city that never sleeps. Biggest issue (aside from the radishes!) - parking, of course. (A few blocks away was the only option and that added another $50+ to an already expensive night.) We were a party of seven (which is how many were seated per table) and I think we would've had an even better time had we been split up or went as a smaller group (so we could mix-and-match with other people, including the performers). Most definitely worth checking out if you're out for some fun that can appease (older) teens to their grandparents.

That was disappointing and felt unfair, especially considering the cost of the experience. The show itself was entertaining and the host was very kind, but the food was just mediocre. The potato was dry, and the chicken was unevenly seasoned -- one section had an overwhelming amount of seasoning while other parts had very little. For the amount of money spent, everything felt just "okay" rather than worth the price. Leaving the venue was also stressful. Guests for the next show were entering while our crowd was trying to exit, causing everyone to crash into each other and making the experience feel even more chaotic.
