I've visited Alamo Drafthouse twice since they opened about a year ago. The first time was during their soft opening, and the second was more recently. When we first came for the soft opening, the service was quite slow and disorganized. We did not receive our food until the second half of the movie, even though we ordered at the beginning. However, we were impressed with the quality of the food and the strict no phones policy. At this point, Alamo was using a pencil and paper method for the staff to come by and pick up orders during the movie. We ordered bottomless popcorn and chicken strips meals. For the price, we felt we were given a generous amount of chicken. It also seemed to be better quality than chicken at other theaters in the area. We returned recently to see another movie, and the service had definitely improved. The staff was very quick with getting our food to us, and the quality of the food remained the same. However, it does seem like Alamo has lifted their no phones policy, opting to have moviegoers order food on their phones rather than with the original pen and paper method. While our theater was generally respectful about their phone use, part of the appeal of going to Alamo was that it was less likely other people in the theater would interrupt the movie with a bright screen. read more

Not gonna lie, I was a little weary when I booked tickets to see Obsession due to the low ratings. However I actually had no complaints about the service or food or staff! I got my food within 20 min of ordering and was able to close out my tab without the automatic gratuity charge if you don't pay before the movie ends. They also offered parking validation. T-Mobile was giving out $5 tickets to see Boots Riley's, J Love Boosters. My partner and I chose the 1 pm viewing on Memorial Day. The chairs did not recline all the way (I'd just been to AMC MERCADO and was pleased at the upgrades in this theater). We ordered popcorn and drinks. Only one drink was delivered, and it took a long time for the popcorn to show up. We ordered another drink, hoping to get it delivered. Another 35 minutes go by. My partner tries to track down a server to ask about the forgotten drink: it's delivered while he's still gone. Then, at the near end of the movie the second drink order arrives. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. This used to be my favorite spot to catch a movie, now I'd only suggest coming for the Tuesday specials, and avoiding concessions all together. You also must go to the counter to validate parking. Under the old movie theater, it was conveniently located on the wall as you exited the theater. And the woman's bathroom was flooded and had half the stalls out of order when I tried to use the restroom. The mucky water in the restroom was less than desirable. I probably should have used the gender inclusive restroom. I chose the Santana Row theater or the AMC Mercado before heading to this hectic location. read more

I understand the frustration at the food prices (almost $20 for chicken tenders ) but overall this is the best and most comfortable movie going experience in the South Bay. Their seats are actually well maintained and comfortable unlike some other theaters. They have sturdy swivel tables to enjoy your food and drinks. Lots of space so you're not too close to anyone in front of or behind you. Only drawbacks would be no heated seats and they don't recline fully. Their TBD Tuesdays are an amazing deal with $9 tickets. So if you don't get food and drinks this is quite the steal. And yes, concessions are pricey, but they're actually pretty good. Well made cocktails. And those chicken tenders are generously sized, come with multiple run and sauce options, and come with fries. They also have great pizzas and even have vegan cheese substitutions which some people can appreciate. read more

Saturday our family of 4 stopped by after having lunch at the mall. We were looking for something that was playing when we arrived and made it just in time for the previews to watch The Super Mario Galaxy Movie! 5/5 star family film! I thought it was even better than the first one!! This location is located conveniently inside Westfield Valley Fair! It's one of those luxury theaters where you order food at your seat and I could smell delicious whiffs off buttered popcorn! The theater and seats were clean and comfy, reclined without issues, tables were clean and it was easy to order by scanning the QR code, a few mins later someone comes with your order and then the experience begins!!! Our popcorn was buttery and fresh, we did have an issue with a drink but they exchanged promptly and the movie quality and sound was awesome! We really enjoyed our movie! They also validate. The milkshake was not super wow but it wasn't bad either for the price! Happy with our experience and will be back!! I've been to the Alamo Drafthouse in the Mission years ago and it was a pretty memorable experience so I was excited to try the Valley Fair location. Being at the mall does prove it's a bit tough, and I didn't learn that the theater validated parking until after I got home so that was a bummer. The workers at the register and the check in box were friendly and welcoming - took time to explain how things worked here. The theater we were in was clean and didn't smell. Honestly, the overall movie viewing experience was great. The only downside is - and I'm on the side of convenience - I wish there was an actual concessions stand. There's a QR code at your seat so you can order things online and it would've been fine except it took me over 20 mins to get my truffle Parmesan popcorn despite people coming in after us and getting their items before ours. It would've been faster just to have a concessions stand to go myself. Also, the truffle Parmesan popcorn wasn't good. Stick with butter. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience at Alamo Drafthouse Valley Fair was unacceptable. We attended the 9:25 PM showing of Moana and ordered three fountain drinks. They cost $8.84 each, so after tax and an automatic 20% gratuity, our total came to $34.25--for three sodas. The biggest issue wasn't the price. It was the service. When we wanted our refill, the app wouldn't let us request it and kept indicating it was unavailable. Since it wasn't working, I got up during the movie and approached two servers for help. Instead of assisting me, one of them simply told me to "push the button." I explained that the app wasn't working, but she was dismissive and offered no solution. Neither server made any effort to help us, and we never received the refill we had paid for. To make matters worse, the receipt showed an automatic 20% gratuity. I don't mind tipping for good service--in fact, I'm happy to do so. But in this case, I don't believe the service deserved it. Paying premium prices should come with attentive customer service, not indifference. I have already contacted management because I believe they should know how this situation was handled. Hopefully they take this feedback seriously and improve the customer experience. Based on this visit, I would not recommend this location. I feel the need to revise my review as had an interesting experience last night. Haven't been to Alamo since December, but I guess things change. Before you had a server. Comes to talk to you, takes your order, and ultimately gives you a more quality experience. I guess they changed that as some people complained that they were blocking the movie or something. NOW, you take your order yourself. You have look at your phone, put your credit card in, and it's a bit of a process. Servers no longer really talk to you and just deliver the food. As the movie was ending, I decided to look at my phone and it says unless I close my order within 20 minutes they will charge me 20% gratuity. First 20% gratuity for what? Dropping off my food? I had to place the order myself. If I had a server who talked to me and waited on me, I could understand, but I didn't talk to anyone. Second, what if I didn't look at my phone? I would have been charged when I got home and none the wiser until it was too late. It's almost like they are STEALING from the customer. Plus it was like 4-5 people who were dropping things off, so who gets the tips? How about just paying your workers MORE. I just think it's NUTS that they will charge you without your consent if you don't look at your phone, and not only that charge you 20% which is a lot for simply dropping off some food. Again, pay your workers more instead of trying to rip off your customers. The theater is still a quality theater and enjoyed the movie, but man, there is a reason I don't come here that often. Also, most of their cocktails do feel a bit watered down. If you're paying $16 for a cocktail make it worth it. Also, wish they had happy hour times for drinks and some foods. I can't believe this place has an overall rating of two and a half stars. I enjoyed watching two movies here: "One Battle After Another" and another one that I ccan'tremember. The faux-leather seats were comfortable, and the screen was large enough for me to see clearly. The volume was louder than usual, but that didn't bother me. It's easy to get tickets online. One of the best features is that you can order food and drinks from your seat! We enjoy spending time in the bar area upstairs, where it's nice and comfortable. The bartenders are friendly and quick to prepare drinks. My partner and I often relax there before heading to a movie. Sometimes, when our daughters want to shop in the mall, we like to hang out there while we wait for them. This place is great! read more

My first and last time at this theater... I planned a surprise movie for my boyfriend's birthday and decided to splurge on a "luxury movie theater." I paid $21 per ticket for the special screen ("big movie" or something like that). HUGE waste of my $$. We walk in and I'm expecting a fancy lobby (as many other luxury theaters have); nope! Then, we go to our seats (biggest theater I've ever seen which was cool), and our tables are dirty from the last movie (sugar and popcorn everywhere). The screen is huge and takes up the entire front wall. I thought because I paid for the big screen, they would've edited the movie so that it takes up the entire screen (they didn't, so the upgrade was pointless). We order food + drinks ($9 for a soda btw). I notice that there's a note saying "if you don't close your tab at the end of the movie, a 20% gratuity will automatically be included," so I assume that you can choose how much you tip after, as long as you close your tab manually. Wrong; I go to close the tab on my phone, and there's a 20% tip that can't be changed or removed. I don't mind tipping, but not being able to change or remove it left a bad taste in my mouth. In total, I spent $84 ($42 for the tickets, $42 for 2 sodas and 1 popcorn). What a waste. read more

I did like that there was a Alamo draft house in Santa Clara, right next to my Airbnb, additionally, I like that it was Godzilla themed. The theater was extremely dirty. Ordering on our phones using the QR codes.... So ridiculous, slow and unnecessary . Sony, what have you done?! I haven't been to a new Drafthouse in quite some time and let me tell you , I probably won't be back ever to this theater. Ordering on the QR code was so dumb. The online ordering didn't even acknowledge one of the seats in our party so I ordered for them. The big guy and I put a party of 7 on one credit card. Even though we had the seat numbers of where the food was supposed to go to , all the food came to my seat. Some of the drinks really sucked ,yuck gross! I did like my skeletor themed margarita. We all went to go watch He-Man. The bill came out to over $250 including our tip. We ordered two popcorns , seven drinks, mozzarella sticks, some candy. I can't recall if I ordered anything else. I felt bad for my aunt , after the movie she had to text me to please bring her some toilet paper so I went into the stall next to that one ...surprise! No toilet paper . I went into the 2nd stall next to that one , and guess what? No toilet paper again ! Then they had one entire stall with caution tape blocked off that didn't even work and an entire cleaning crew cart , mop , bucket and some other stuff set up in the corner just sitting there , nobody was cleaning. It just was placed there instead of the cleaning closet. Then when we went to wash our hands, one sink was completely out of order and two of the automatic blowers were not working to dry hands. I went to go let the guys at the front know and they were so embarrassed. They were very apologetic. They said they know that they have some problems in that restroom. They gave me coupons for an Alamo Drafthouse anywhere that I go to next time. This better not be the normal at all the other Alamos now. read more

This was my first time visiting Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, even though I've always wanted to come. I'm honestly surprised it doesn't have more stars because it exceeded my expectations. The service was amazing they bring you to your seat, and before the movie starts, you can fill out your food and drink order. During the movie, you just press a button and someone comes to help you with your order. I also loved all the movie posters of classic films like Godzilla. it added so much character to the theater. Alamo Drafthouse has officially become part of my weekend personality. If you love movies and actually want to hear them without people talking or phone light going off like it a rave. This place is a must. The no talking/no texting policy is sacred, especially in an era of phone zombies ‍ still trying to remember what it's like to sit still and let a movie work its magic without a phone screen in their face in public...I'm kidding... Service is consistently fantastic. A few minor hiccups here and there with my orders, but nothing that ruined the vibe--everything was handled without stress. The food? Surprisingly legit. The burger alone deserves a supporting role nomination. Pro tip: If you go even semi-regularly, the unlimited movie membership is a no-brainer. Your wallet will thank you. This new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has officially taken over the former ShowPlace Icon location, and it definitely brings a different vibe. The first thing you notice is the lobby. It's lively and playful, with lots of arcade games, which makes it feel more like a hangout than just a movie theater. It's a nice touch if you arrive early or want to linger after the show. We watched Avatar: Fire and Ash, and the viewing experience itself was solid and immersive. The seats were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere felt modern and well thought out. One thoughtful community-friendly detail: they market Tuesdays as "Baby Day," where parents can bring their babies and it's explicitly understood that crying is allowed in the theater. Came here with the family to watch the new Super Mario Brothers movie with the family. Upon arriving the lobby and halls are clean and the staff working the entrance were polite and friendly fly. The theatre does not have a counter you can walk up to, to order food. Everything is done thru a QR Code on your seat. That feature is nice however a counter would still be nice as well. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, pizza and popcorn. The kids loved the pizza, however the burgers left both of us with upset stomachs. Popcorn was cool though and the time from ordering to getting the food was very quick. The theatre itself is very nice, large screens, good audio and a great layout for the seats. However the seats themselves leave a lot to be desired. They don't fully recline so it leaves you in an awkward position whether you're sitting up or in the recline position which gets uncomfortable. It would be nice if these seats reclined like the ones at the other movie chains near by. Overall this wasn't a bad experience, but for price it's not what I'd expect. read more

Recently watched the Chainsaw Man movie with a couple of friends here and I can honestly say the seats were somewhat decent, and the servers were friendly. But does the price justify that? There's legit no concession stand, we're forced to order food on their website or by paper. While it is a cool idea, it does get annoying where we have to pay online instead of just getting the food before hand. I already paid nearly $24 for one ticket, comparing it to Cinemark and AMC it's so expensive. And the food was drastically more expensive, a whole large bowl of popcorn was nearly $16, and a hot dog with some fries costed me $18. Another big issue is forcing a 20% gratuity, if you don't close your tab. I'm sorry but it's a movie theater, we shouldn't be on our phones trying to close our tabs. I didn't notice this text cause I put my phone on silence so I can enjoy the movie, but I was forced to pay the extra gratuity. Which is absolutely absurd! By no means I'm a cheap person, but honestly this is not the best bang for your buck. I'd say if you're just trying to enjoy a movie, and enjoy some snacks, then Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is not for you. To me this does not feel like a movie theater, just a company that cares just about profits, rather than making the movie experience better. Service here is a lot slower than the Mountain View location, which is shocking since there's so much more staff here! They also were not very friendly... We ordered a Margherita pizza, which was decent. Came out piping hot with crispy crust, and an ungodly amount of tomatoes. Perfect amount of cheese though. It was overall fine. The popcorn here is what was truly disappointing. We got the Spicy Ranch to share, and why yes! It was spicy and tasted like ranch seasoning... but they overseason it WAY TOO MUCH. Soooo salty and greasy. We asked for a complimentary refill of just the buttered popcorn, and it was also overly salted with too much butter. We had to ask for cups of water multiple times to quench our thirst... but since service was so slow, we were dying of salty popcorn. I would not recommend coming here. The only fun part about it? They play older films here on a regularly basis. So it could be nice if you really wanted to see a favorite movie on the big screen. read more

Nice theater, clean and did not feel cramped. Watched Superman in theater 7. Ordered the banana cream pie in a jar and kiwi pie in a jar. Food came out pretty quick but they still need to be pay attention to details. The desserts were pudding base in a jar but they gave forks instead of spoons. Both were good, though. Banana cream pie was better than the kiwi pie and filled the small jar better compared to kiwi pie only filled 3/4 of the jar. Staff were nice Wish the chairs reclined more. My chair was a bit uncomfortable because the headrest was bulky that it strains the neck. read more

Yeah ironically this place has cheaper movie tickets than average compared to AMC and Century, despite being a more "premium" movie theater experience. I only paid about $12 for my movie on a Sunday afternoon. Where they make their money is from the food. The popcorn is WAY more expensive here than at both AMC and Cinemark. Plus, you're basically forced to leave a tip because a worker brings the food to your seat. The app/website is actually quite predatory and confusing; I tried taking off the tip, and it wouldn't let me, until I accidentally closed my tab, and they added a 20% tip by default. So the popcorn ended up costing me like $15 dollars which is more than what I paid for the ticket lol. So if you're looking to just see a movie and not get any food, I would ironically recommend Alamo Drafthouse because of their lower ticket prices. Otherwise, I don't think this theater is that great. the seats are not that comfortable; the incline isn't ideal and the little table gets in the way of your legs. The seats at Century Great Mall and AMC Mercado are way better. Not only that, but this is in the terrible location of Valley Fair mall. Good luck finding parking. Most movies run over 2 hours these days, so you're basically forced to pay for parking. $12 ticket + $15 popcorn +$3 parking = $30!! read more

There's no concession stand, so you have to awkwardly write your food order with a shared greasy pen everyone used prior to you being there and even then, the staff still got my order wrong. The seats were uncomfortable and hurt my back, the popcorn came in a tin can instead of a bucket (I like taking my popcorn home and I don't live the concept of a reusable popcorn tin can, and the bright light under the table was distracting. We went to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on a Tuesday for their discounted movie deal. They removed all the concessions and now you can only order from your seat. They also added a bunch of games and claw machines. The first disappointment were the seats. I do wish the seats reclined a bit further. This is the only theater I've been to where your legs can't fully extend..... For food, we ordered the lemon pepper wings and the truffle parmesan popcorn. The wings were pretty good, but I wish they were crispier. It only came with three small pieces of celery. The truffle parmesan popcorn is unlimited, but we only made it through half of the bowl. It also took FOREVER to come out. I probably wouldn't get truffle parm again since you cant even taste the truffle.. The top layer was buttery, but as we got deeper in, it just became saltier and cheesier. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but I'd prefer Pruneyard Cinemas for seats that recline further and better food options. Watched the matinee showing of Superman here this past Sunday and enjoyed every moment. The place used to be Show Place ICON Theater, but it definitely conforms to the Alamo Drafthouse identity. Even the way you order food from your seat is similar to Alamo Drafthouse in SF (some people don't know this, hence why they complain). Comfy sofas and coffee tables in the lobby. Classic movie posters on the walls in the hall leading to the auditoriums, especially vintage godzilla. A few auditoriums upstairs too, along with a bar and dining tables. The recliner seats in the auditoriums don't stretch that far back or out, and do not have heaters, but they are in brand new condition with clear numbers attached, and they have swivel tables with menus at each seat. Only 15 minutes of previews, better than other cinema chains. Excellent picture and sound. I was not distracted by the staff serving food/drinks to guests during the movie. And I appreciated an employee checking in with me before start time in case I wanted to order concessions from my seat. They offer an awesome selection of food and beverages, including flavored popcorn, customizable sandwiches and burgers, and boozy milkshakes like The Grasshopper, among other things (I'm a fan of Alamo Drafthouse for this!). So glad they've recently opened two new locations near me, more opportunities to try the appetizing items on the menu. The most ideal parking is the 2nd floor of the Winchester garage, and the theater offers parking validation at the front counter in the lobby. For a newer venue with staff probably still learning and adjusting, I think they did a pretty good job altogether. I didn't run into any problems. And though I can't speak of the dine-in experience since I didn't order any food/drinks during my recent visit, I was happy with both the theater and the awesome movie I saw. #supershit read more

What a disappointment. My parents went to the original Alamo draft house years ago in Austin Texas while dad was on a business trip. They loved it and talked about it forever. I had never been to one so was super excited when I heard one had opened in San Jose. From what my parents described I believe I had expected .... It could be that so many theaters do the comfortable seats, order and delivery of food to your seat ... etc. that the novelty isn't quite there any more. I also expected better quality food. It was all pretty terrible. It was overcooked, soggy, bland. The food that was supposed to be hot was cold. The desert in a cup was terrible... which I'm not sure how you can make key lime pie taste salty and bland (where was lime?) but they somehow managed it. It was also relatively expensive. Definitely not worth it. I will say that their cocktails were sufficiently strong. So, next time I attend (if ever) I'll have popcorn and a cocktail ... and never order food here again. EVER. It annoys me when theaters do not offer to validate or pay for parking when it's a pay for parking situation (I think it's crazy for any shopping mall to have parking you are required to pay for in general... pet peeve). If you want the same experience but at a cheaper price point and slightly better food ... Okay girst time here and this theater os very different than what Im used to to! Its a restaurant upstairs and theater downstairs with an arcade. The screens are BIG and you order food from scanning the WR code from your seat! There is no snack bar EVERYTHING had to ge ordered from the QR code. Gratuity is automatically added on at end. Alcohol beverages are available! The delivery of food took over 30 minutes! The seats are not that comfortable, especially for a 2 hr and 37 minute movie (project hail mary) Bathrooms are clean and have a combo automatic faucet/hand dryer. The hand dryer is hard to get started and you start looking like you trying to bust a move with it. It was an experience and not sure if I would return. read more

First off, they automatically charge 20% gratuity.... um why? When they literally only bring your food as a one time thing? They didn't even bring us napkins. Our order was simple. Loaded fries and the pretzels with beer cheese. The pretzels came after about 15 minutes. We had to interrupt our movie to ask about the fries after waiting around 45 minutes. Another 15 minutes after that, still nothing. A few minutes after the hour mark, they finally bring the fries. A few minutes later, they bring another set of fries. Sorry, but this type of service doesn't warrant a 20% automatic gratuity charge. Also, the seats barely even recline. $45 for 2 tickets, I expected better. read more

I recommend coming here for the early showing on weekends. The location is very busy (valley fair mall) so you'll get stuck in traffic if you go when the world wakes up lol. This is my second time coming here. I always like to give establishments more than one visit. This also applies to the alamo. This time around I got to try turbo cold brew shake. (first visit they were all out). I'm a big coffee lover and this drink has a little bit of alcohol in it.don't worry not enough to get you drunk/buzz from one drink. Taste sweet and creamy with a hint of alcohol for the after taste. Bought loaded fries again. (utensils are given upon request). The fries taste consistent from the first visit and this visit I bought them. Customer service are friendly. Still seems like they're still getting the hang of things cause I did receive someone else order by mistake. read more

We watched 28 years later last night. Movie, seating, and environment great. Just like the past theater ownership. Seats were clean and comfortable. Sound was great. Visuals great. Unfortunately we had a poor experience with dining and were left hungry. We were very mindful of this being a practice run as they are just opening and training. However, we never got our food. We went early purposely to eat our dinner while the movie was starting. It was weird bc we saw ppl who sat way later than us get their orders right away. An hour into the movie our server comes to us asking for last additional orders and stated that our first order was in the making. 30 minutes later other customers were getting their checks. Movie is over. We never got checked on again and our orders were not given. So we were upset and hangry. As we were leaving our server did end up coming to us apologizing which was nice. She told us to let the front desk know for them to give us a goodie for the mistake. Not sure how our order wasn't placed or how it got loss. However, thankful that our server let us know and was apologetic about it. She was just a young girl in training so nbd. The front desk experience was what rubbed us in a wrong way. As we approached the front desk we asked about the hold on the card for food that we did not receive and about validating for parking. We were immediately cut off and told machines for validation don't work, hold will be fixed & that we can get a free popcorn voucher... awesome ! Not apologetic & we didn't even get the chance to say more, felt that we weren't heard so we left. Didn't want to come off as rude customers. I don't think the concept of having a button and servers come take our order slip is efficient. It sounds like ( & we had personal experience with it) an opportunity for many mistakes . I think having a QR code and electric submission may be better so it avoids losing orders and ensuring orders are given out in a timely manner based on when they are placed. It took a while for our order slipped to even be grabbed when we pressed the call light. Our server would pass by without grabbing it either. It was actually someone else who grabbed our order. Overall would go here again just to watch movies. Will not be ordering food and drinks again. Hope for them to do better with training and customer service. read more

Considering this establishment is brand spanking new- I was super impressed. Let's get into it 1) the drink menu is stellar with knowledgeable bartenders and get options all around 2) the theatre itself (we went to "The Big Show" is hands down one of the largest screens I've seen. Very well equipped with surround sound and visuals were crisp. Honestly, didn't even need my glasses lol 3) the staff were all super friendly. Shout out to Evan. Everyone clearly was training but on their P's and Q's so it was really refreshing to see folks taking their jobs seriously. Overall we had a great experience. The food was cooked well with lots of options, love the flavored popcorn. There's no way you'll finish the amount of popcorn they give you so heads up come hungry. Parking is what it is at valley fair so be prepared to come early. What I really enjoyed & what's gonna bring me back is the 'pre-show' screening. I had no idea what to expect but the 'pre-show' was a movie buffs heaven. It was basically a showcase on the genre (we watched 28 years later) and gave an entire backstory of the series with fun facts about previous films. Makes me excited for the "pre-show" for others. Can't wait for more/ great job Alamo! Last shoutout to the countdown at the end of the film- we were much more inclined to get it moving seeing that clicking-it's the small touches that matter. read more

We watched Superman (you can definitely skip it!) yesterday at this new theater at the Valley Fair Mall and we were very pleased with our experience there under Alamo Drafthouse. We ordered drinks and food that were brought to us by our Server named Juan. He was very attentive and customer service oriented! Also, he was very thorough about explaining the "ordering" ropes! The theater itself has changed a bit from when it was originally Showplace Icon and now just seems a little more polished, very clean and has more of a WOW factor. The seats were very comfortable! This theater used to be ICON (which I loved!) but changed companies and is now Alamo. It is slightly different in that they still have a bar upstairs but it seems that the theaters from the top and bottom combined together to create a huge screen! I actually loved the dolby screen and the sound was amazing! You order at your seat on a price of paper with a server. They had a lot of food options! We got the Royal with Cheese, Loaded Fries, Superman Drink, and the Habanero Margarita. I would've taken a quick picture but they have a very strict no phones policy. The food and drinks came half way into the movie, so it did take a little bit but I am expecting because the kitchen is still figuring out how to turn food/drinks faster. We accidentally came on a holiday that fell on a Tuesday once and were pleasantly surprised by the $9 tickets (50% off). Even then the theater was only 10% full. Screen and sound quality are great as expected. Rows 1-4 are close to the screen. Most of row 5 is empty space for wheelchairs but we were once offered 2 seats there because there weren't any other centered seats in the back. The recline feature in that row lifted up my legs but my neck stayed at an awkward angle. We've also sat in row 7 or 8 which was fairly comfortable. No idea how the food is but I feel bad for the employees who had to run around crouched to take and serve orders in this hybrid "restaurant" movie theater. It wasn't an issue but those who get easily distracted might want to sit in the front or back rows. read more

I really like the new Alamo Drafthouse that replaced the old ICON Theatre at Valley Fair. My friend and I came here for the first time to watch *28 Years Later* -- great movie, by the way! I've been to Alamo Drafthouse locations in San Francisco and Texas, so I had high expectations, and this one lived up to the brand's usual standards. I love the retro theming, especially the classic movie posters lining the walls. The lobby has comfy couches to relax on, and there's a great bar upstairs that's perfect for hanging out before or after the movie. As always, you can order food and drinks from your seat, and they'll bring everything right to you. The seats don't fully recline, but that's understandable since they need to leave space for servers to move around during the film. One thing I really appreciate is their strict no-disruption policy -- they'll give one warning and then kick out anyone who's being disruptive. Gotta love that! Bonus: they validate your parking -- just ask at the lobby counter after your movie. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5, because I ordered water and it never showed up. My girlfriend and I went to go see minions on July 3 and everything was going great. We had got there on time. We ordered our food we found our seats and the food brought to us smelled delicious and came to us within 15 minutes. They were super quick and super courteous. The only reason I'm giving this place one star is because of the rat that at first ran by us and then later came up through my seat and tried to grab some of my food me and my girlfriend immediately jumped out of our seats and went to go tell the front desk. they were super apologetic. They comped our bill and let us know that they have been dealing with this issue For a long time. Please be aware of rats when coming here. read more

Wow! We saw Elio here, and it was an amazing experience!! They are still working out the kinks since they are brand new, but I would never take a star off for that.
