The person that answered the phone was very polite and explained the procedure. I picked up the car at the location near the ship and dropped it off at the same location. The van did have a crack in the corner of the windshield and later in the day seemed a little sluggish, but it got us to Mendenhall Glacier, drove to a few more sightseeing locations and finished at Tracy's. It was definitely cheaper than all 12 of us pay for a similar excursion.

We tried our best to drive back to the airport, driving under the speed limit with hazards, cut our day short by 6 hours, only to be told that they knew there was an issue with the car. Told me the manager would have to call to discuss a refund. Never received a call. Called enterprise customer service who said they would reach out. Still never received a call. Enterprise charged me the full cost 30 days after the incident. Will never use enterprise again. Definitely don't use juneas enterprise rental services.

When we returned the car, Avis very kindly gave us a ride back to the ship. Note that the rental price is high, but in comparison to the price of an excursion for five people, it paid off. There was some computer issues so we had to wait for over half and hour to get the car. All the cars were electric vehicle. You will also pay a 25$ fee for them to recharge the vehicle. Full charged vehicle can go about 240 miles. We pretty much only used 1/4 of charge because Juneau is only so big. Lol. Did spot a deer near by before pulling out so that was pretty cool.

We called again after 30 minutes and they said they don't have any cabs available and tried to give us another number to book with someone else. We luckily managed to hail a van that had just dropped off a group so we didn't have to deal with Glacier Taxi and Tours' incompetence any more.

Summary: Food is very, very good, staff is friendly for the most part, but the rooms are less than clean. The good: the food is very good (for Hoonah or anywhere else) and this is one of the only places in Hoonah to have a sit-down meal. They bake their own treats like muffins, brownies, cookies, etc. which are great for breakfast or dessert. The establishment is right on the water so you can stroll out at anytime and appreciate Alaska's beauty from just steps outside the door, or perhaps even from some of the rooms. My room faced the road so I am unsure of this. The bad: my room was one of the dirtiest I have ever slept in. There was a coffee stain on my wall that looked as if someone threw an entire cup/pot of coffee at the wall and no one so much as looked at it let alone cleaned it up. Nasty is the only word that comes to mind when contemplating my room cleanliness. That being said, I do believe that I got the last room available during my stay, and I was happy to have it as there was nowhere else. Perhaps I got that room that all hotels/motels have but keep as a last resort to occupy. The bathroom cleanliness also left something to be desired. In all fairness, I did not think the rest of the establishment was overly unclean/dirty, but I will say that the standards in Alaska are on a different level than the lower 48. Perhaps I'm just a prissy, spoiled mainlander. Dunno.
