Located by the Juneau cruise terminal, the Goldbelt Tram offers a ride up Mt Robert's, providing…read moreviews of Juneau, Gastineau Channel (& the cruise ships) and Douglas Island. The line goes fast and the employees running the trams are efficient. The ride itself is short, approximately 3 minutes, so the $50 price tag will seem a bit steep. We walked some of the trails and got in ~2 hilly miles. The views were great and there were many wildflowers to look at while resting. A local artist was set up carving a totem outside the gift shop and was incredibly friendly, offering guests an opportunity to carve a bit and take photos. Kids really seemed to like this and he was great with interested families. We did not visit the cafe. I would have liked to have purchased my ticket earlier and done another trip up to walk off dinner-that ticket is good all day-and would recommend this if you have time.

TLDR: Fun activity, not worth the price…read more The tram is a pretty popular activity in Juneau. While you do go up really high and you really won't get a view like this any other way- I personally don't feel like it's worth it for the price. They pack the tram pretty full (which hey, they have to with how many people are in line!), which makes it tough to really enjoy the view as you're going up. There are some trails and a restaurant and a gift shop at the top. The ticket does include unlimited rides on the tram, but the lines to get on the tram both on the top and the bottom would make it pretty tedious to go on more than once.

She said she wasn't unavailable until noon which shortened the time I would have preferred but she definitely made the few hours together worth it. During the actual day of our ride/tour I changed the pick up point last minute and she was flexible and punctual. From MENDENHALL GLACIER to CRUISE port…read more Just wanted to share my story here is the pointers to get the quick over view: -Cheaper than the "bus tour" -May be cheaper than Lyft -Convenient -Courteous -Call ahead to see if they have a vehicle that fits everyone in your party -The taxi can pick you up in the parking lot nearest to the visitor center. Lyft has a designated pick up and drop off that is farther away. People the Taxi might be Cheaper!! Used the taxi from Mendenhall Glacier to our cruise. I checked on Lyft and it would have cost $78 (around 5 pm) for our party of 6. I called Juneau Taxi and the person speaking to me was kind, patient and informative. I asked if she could give me a quote for two stops and suggestions for a place to buy heels. Then I asked how long it would take for a taxi to get to us. I saw a taxi and told her I would call back if he was waiting for someone. As I was approaching his van another group came up to him. Thankfully the operator I was talking to earlier radio someone to drive over just in case. Carlita (taxi driver) was waiting for us :) as I was approaching her she asked if I was Kimberly. Just before we got into the taxi a man approached our driver and asked how much it cost to get back to the ship and she quoted give or take $45. We had 6 people in our party and we comfortably fit in to the van. He got charged $70 PER PERSON!!!! He was sitting with other people he didn't know and waiting for the bus. I forgot to pack my heels for formal night. Carlita had a suggestion to buy heels and asked over the radio where we should go. Someone over the radio suggested Alaskan Dames Consignment. Omg, this store had so many cute well taken care of items. The heels that I bought looked like it never had been worn. I had to will my self not to go crazy and only buy what I came for. This impromptu stop cost $5. In total it cost us $50. Carlita asked us if we finished shopping and suggested Alaska T-shirt's. It was a good suggestion because it was near the cruise ship and offered a variety of items. Overall it was worth it for us. This was our second time coming to Mendenhall Glacier. First time we use a bus shuttle to and back. We booked it when we got off the ship. This time we used the public bus $2 each person to get there over a mile walk from port to bus stop. When you get to the bus stop it's over a mile walk to get to the visitor center.

His rides are the most expensive transportation I've experienced globally! On first ride less than 10 minutes for $43 he asked for tip and I said kindly no. On second ride I asked how cost was calculated and rather than explaining he offered to drop from $43 to $25 which is kind but also I'm unclear why prices are so high. He also recommended I get to airport 2 hours early and I was only person in line and am now sitting here with enough time to write this review rather than enjoying an ice cream and outdoor Juneau views

He was filled with cool facts about the area; about nature and about the town itself. Quite pleasant and friendly. We all very much enjoyed what he had to say. He kept it interesting and was very upbeat and even a bit humerous at times. Thank you, Aiden!! We took the tour out to Mendenhall Glacier and Gold Nugget waterfall. Highly recommend!! Saw lots of nature and many different wildlife. I missed a photo op on the way out to the glacier and asked that our driver point out the area on our way back so that I can snap a shot... he did that for me, which was pretty awesome. As you tour through Juneau, you'll learn of the best places to stop for eating and shopping and why places tend to be famous around town. If you are on a cruise ship, you'll pass by a great spot to get a photo of your ship across the bay shortly after you set out on your tour. Our bus stopped at a great sightseeing spot there, made for wonderful pix. Make sure you check out the trails around the stop. There is a short one that takes maybe 20 minutes and the walk out to the Falls takes about an hour (you're only there for an hour and a half). Aiden runs a tight bus... as any tour guide would.... please keep your voices down and make sure you are prompt at getting back on board the bus for the ride back. Communication was excellent from the moment we were picked up. Every step of the tour was clearly explained, making everything easy to follow and stress-free. Joe and Sophie were not only incredibly knowledgeable about the glacier and the surrounding area, but they also kept the group entertained with their great sense of humor. They did an excellent job keeping us on schedule, ensuring we made it back to the cruise port with plenty of time. Their professionalism, organization, and enthusiasm made this one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. If you're visiting Juneau and want an unforgettable glacier experience, I highly recommend Liquid Alaska Tours--and if you can, ask for Joe and Sophie!

We booked Liquid Alaska Tours for our canoe experience as there were very little excursions…read moreavailable since we booked so last minute. We booked through Tripadvisor and the cost for the canoe for each person was about $230 each (pricey, I know). We were pretty bummed when we found out that our tour didn't include getting off the canoe to get up close to the glacier, especially since the price was quite steep. The photos on Tripadvisor and Viator show that the people do in fact get off the boat, but apparently it was incorrect (false advertisement imo). What I will say was the saving grace was the fact the scenery of this canoe ride was epic. There's a lot that can't be seen unless you take a helicopter, seaplane, kayak, or canoe up close to the Mendenhall Glacier. Our tour guide, Dawson was also great. He was full of dad jokes throughout the whole canoe ride. P.S. Don't think you're gonna get off this easy! The canoe ride was an exercise to say the least! My arms were sore the next day!
