Before we were even given the car, an employee told us the vehicle should not have been rented out at all and should have been taken to Texas for the season - yet they had us drive it anyway. On top of that, the windshield wipers were completely worn out and unsafe, which should never happen with a rental car. During a rainstorm, the wipers were so bad that we could barely see the road, putting us in a dangerous situation on the highway. To make things worse, staff attempted to drive the car off without properly addressing the existing damage. Later, when someone hit us and we were involved in an accident, the supervisor we spoke with refused to give us his name, which is extremely unprofessional and concerning. Despite the accident, we were told to continue driving the car. Now, after the fact, they are claiming the vehicle is totaled and are sending me a bill saying I'm responsible for it. I have been calling repeatedly to speak with a representative about this bill, and no one answers, no one returns calls, and there is absolutely no follow-up. This company lacks accountability, transparency, and basic customer service. I would never rent from them again and strongly advise others to stay far away unless you want to deal with damaged vehicles, unsafe conditions, unresponsive staff, and surprise bills with no explanation.
