Stopping for supplies before heading down the road. Spaces are big and not too close together. They have a small food menu and will even deliver to your door. Great view of the mountains. This was a great spot for us to have our base of operations for our Southern Colorado adventure. We were lucky to have the bunk-house for the weekend and it was more than enough room. Les and Deb made sure we had everything we needed for the stay as we flew in and were not traveling by our own car from home. The rest of the staff were friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The facilities were great and there was a lot of fun things to do for the kids. Our son and his friend liked the playground, the giant Connect Four, playing corn-hole, and riding on the four wheeler bikes. For our accommodations, we had great hot/cold running water and the WiFi was running at a speed where we could run Netflix and Disney+ streaming. The kitchen was stocked with the basics that we were able to prepare breakfast every morning and we could have prepared bigger meals if we needed to. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with basics (towels and toiletries). The rooms were big and could fit 2 to 3 families in the entire bunk-house comfortably. The KAO is located near Great Sand Dunes National Park and close to the town of Alamosa. The sunrise over the mountains was beautiful in the mornings. read more

Finishing up our stay at the Alamosa CO KOA. Very nice little campground! Staff has been outstanding. Little touches like texts every day reminding people about store specials, free trash pickup from your site and things. Our fhu site #8 was great! Fairly level with shade trees and tons of room! Definitely recommend the end sites! There are a few patio sites but these are mostly in a new area with no grass or trees yet. Only minor gripe is our sewer connection was a bit uphill. All connections were good with decent water pressure and free Wi-Fi. Pups loved Kamp K9! Overall very clean and well maintained. Close to Great Sand Dunes National Monument! read more

I visit Alamosa a lot to go to the Great Sand Dunes and this KOA is a great place to stay! I've been here twice and they have a lock on the bathroom and keep it clean! I appreciate that a lot. They serve breakfast if you want. They also have pizza to be delivered. They have a shop and I always collect stickers from there! It's also a great quiet place and each time I've went there's no loud noises and I believe they enforce quiet hours well! It's spacious and I liked staying in the cabin this year. Staff here is very polite, nice... and while that's great... the water pressure is terrible. They know there is an issue but the resolution seems to be far away. They need to be upfront about this prior to check in. Being hooked up to the water... your faucet will literally just DRIP. If you come here... you best have a full tank of water prior to coming in. With kids needing a shower... it was ridiculous. They will not give you a discount and hope instead to con another RV'er that won't know until its too late. And if you want to fill your water tank to hopefully get around the complete lack of pressure? Good luck.. it would take at least a full 24hrs+. Other than that, its not a terrible KOA but them knowing its a problem and continuing to take reservations with no resolution and not telling people... that's very wrong. read more

The location is handy for outdoor pursuits in either direction and situated under the watchful gaze of mighty Blanca Peak. The sites are nothing particularly special (the better ones have a tree), but what sets this facility apart is the staff; they are unfailingly polite and helpful to a person, and clearly take pride in making the experience pleasant for campers. I was impressed with each individual I interacted with. They even had an afternoon ice cream social with all proceeds going to a local charity. read more

No A/C in the cabin if that's important to you. Wifi was good which is why I needed a cabin for a night for some remote work. Can be dusty since it's not paved. Have seen nicer showers at other KOA locations, but the water is hot and the pressure is good. The town is awful, but if you're on the road and need a stop over or are visit Great Sand Dunes NP it'll work. Staff is awesome! read more

Overall, they have what they advertise - full hookups with pull through spots. unfortunately, there's not much grass, the dog part was all gravel, and there were stickers in the areas that had grass making it not so pet friendly. The KOA park is a nice layout with great owners, but the landscape is representative of the dry and arid San Luis valley of southern Colorado. The park is in a good location to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park 30 minutes away while also being very close to town. The RV sites are pull through with a picnic table and fire ring. The roads and sites are gravel. The park has a pool, playground, horseshoes, volleyball area and a store with pizza restaurant attached. The wifi is non-existent even though they give out codes to access it. The water pressure is also very low. We took all of our showers with our water pump running. There's a lot here so please read the whole entire review. Today I arrived home after two great days at the KOA. My two wonderful kids that are seven and 12 years old as well as myself and my husband enjoyed time they're in cabin to. We rented the one I'm going to call scooters, played in the pool but mostly came down to look at the stars because there's no light pollution in Alamosa in most places. We stayed at the site because of the good reviews. At no time on the side did it say anything about what I'll call " resort fee". Lol. I kind of thought that was the point and why the charges were done at the KOA but needless to say no we're on the site did it say that. For both the cabins it was $170 and some odd cents. Came out to $85.13 charged twice because they basically have you pay a reservation fee. That's what the picture shows attached. Then a day later now that I've gotten home I have a $48 charge. Betty at the front desk is arguing with my husband and finally hung up on him where I had to leave a message and hopefully they'll call me back to settle this problem. If not I'll have to call my bank and say these are fraudulent charges since I have a KOA bill stating otherwise and no agreement about this $48. Don't stay here there's other places a few miles before and a few miles after that are worth it and you won't have any hidden fees.......ok. There's more. After talking to Denise on the phone she sent out some emails to my hubby. After finally resolving the issue. Denise decided since I had a left a message stating possible fraud charges ( which if it was an incorrect charge I just wanted to get the ball rolling on canceling my card) to let me know I threatened them on the vm. Get over yourself. I just wanted to know if I should call and get my Acct a new card. Then she had the guts to write me that she didn't appreciate my threatening vm. What? I left a message with what I thought was happening and if u confirmed it then I'd cancel my card. These people have no compassion nor customer service skills. You don't hang up in someone cause you can't help them then have me call back to leave a message. I left a detailed one. Didn't raise my voice and was more scared my card got stolen but of course these two ladies. Denise and Betty did NOT want to help, resolve the issue or manage up the koa so we would want to go again. Don't go here. Go to the dunes. Bet they take good care of their customers even after they have left. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a single night this summer while we enjoyed the national park. The staff were very friendly and polite - we appreciated the information they gave us about the town of Alamosa, events happening that weekend, and all the info about the KOA. Our tent site was fine; pretty dusty, so everything got dirty since the grass is patchy. The sites are very close together, but quiet time was not an issue for us. Bathroom was clean, no trash around the grounds or anything. We were supposed to stay for two nights, but even with our camping pads the ground was extremely hard and uncomfortable, so we got a hotel. Not a bad place to stay, just okay. read more

This was good place! I would come here again. However I would stay for one or two nights, I don't know if there is much to do around here. They had a fun BMX bike jump area. And a playground, that doesn't look fun but really is! The dog park area is a good place to let your dog run around. The sites are a good size but there is no separation, the people across from us could look right into our camper and we into theirs. Its also a dirt lot and that means a lot of dusty everywhere. But, I would come back if I was passing though here again, it was a great place to stay! read more

This is an OK campground. Spaces are tight together. The staff are really good and the facility is in decent shape.

I really wanted to love our stay here but we didn't. The grounds are clean but sites are super dusty and plain dirt (I mention that so you know to bring a mat or rug or your camper will be filthy), the showers are old but fine, the pool is small and isn't heated but it has a solar cover they put over it at night. That's not heated but "heat retained at night", lol. The pizza is a frozen, bake in their oven type, so I'm not sure why people are so stoked on it. It wasn't good, at all. There are lots of awesome pizza in town that I bet will deliver too. You can't make change for the laundry if the office is closed because they don't have a basic change or laundry soap machine. All of that was expected for an old KOA in the middle of no where. What was NOT expected were the SHARED SITES. Yes. I said, shared sites. This was a new one for us (but I'm told it's common for Koa's?!) and it means that MOST of their sites you have to literally share with complete strangers. Your camper actually opens up facing the other party. The way the hookups are installed, this is standard for them. You SHARE a common middle space and you SHARE a fire pit. Unfortunately for us, our neighbors wouldn't share. They took over the fire pit and wouldn't let us use it. They had 5 kids that were loud and their music that they played all night was horrid. They had a camper 3x the size of ours and parked their suv IN our campsite!! Literally we were camping with their suv. It was insane. I will NEVER "share a site" ever, ever again and I'm SO disappointed that we drove 14 hours to get to this KOA, only to be completely uncomfortable and feeling like we were screwed out of an awesome camping experience. We spoke to the manager and she offered to bring us a fire pit, which we declined because we didn't even have a place to put it since our site mates took our common space over and that would make things even more awkward. I wasn't pleased with how nonchalant they were when we expressed our disappointment with the site. They were like, yea, well we are booked solid so tough. The couple that shared a site with us on the first night was a CHAIN SMOKER. Nice enough guy but he ripped butts non stop and my kids had literally never seen a cigarette before this guy. (Yes, thanks a lot). He would just sit on the picnic table and face our camper and smoke. So gross. We will never be back to this koa but now we know to request a NON SHARED SITE. Hear ye hear ye hear ye! Five star shout out for the new owners (Les and Deb) of KOA Alamosa. Unlike the last RV resort we came from, as soon as we pulled up,and approached the door we were greeted by Les. Just like his wife Deb, he was warm welcoming and made us feel like we just came home. They answered all the questions we had about the The area including, San surfing, the alligator farm and so on. By the way, they sold us discount tickets to the alligator farm which was like going back in time to the Flintstones, a definite must see. They Showed us where the washer and dryer facilities were and the dog run area. Once we were checked in, Les lead the way in their golf cart and took us right to our space. The property is well-maintained, clean, and had lots of room for the RV and the casual living area. The spaces were actually quite large which was a pleasant surprise. They also picked up the trash every morning and made sure the bathrooms and the showers were very clean. They actually looked new with great water pressure. By the way, if you like pizza this is the place to go! Deb told us when we checked in that they make fresh pizza and to get your order in before 6:30 PM. I was very reluctant, I didn't think You could actually get a good pizza at a KOA campground. Boy was I mistaken, it was excellent, I recommend the meat lovers thin crust pizza. I ate the whole thing. It was wonderful. They make it fresh right there in their kitchenette and it is some of the best tasting pizza I have ever had. I can't say enough about what a wonderful stay we had. If you come to this KOA I think you'll be very pleased and enjoy your stay. Ron Throughout our's stay they brought us firewood, ice, and whatever we needed to the campsite. I left gratuities twice and Less and Deb donated that money to a wonderful cause for children with cancer. They have generous hearts and generous spirits. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We stayed for two nights, towards the end of July. In the cabin. The site was clean, so was the cabin. All be it, a very basic cabin; but it was nice! One double bed, two single bunk beds, electricity, a ceiling fan, and a heater (for the colder months). I would definitely stay here again. We have been staying at many KOAs across the US. This one was a huge disappointment. When I looked at the KOA website, this was the ONLY facility that did not show customer reviews nor had a listed owner. Not a surprise. On a Saturday night in July, the campground was less than 50% occupied. The tent sites had 20 cyclists crammed in a single site who occupied all the public spaces. They had clothes hanging up in the bathrooms and camped out in the rec center. While we watched a movie in our private RV, we were harassed by someone who claimed to be the manager. Refused to give his name and the first words from his mouth was that our dog was barking inside the RV and that we would have to leave. The "manager" was threatening and physically intimating unnecessarily. Our dog was in his crate and not reasonable. We understand that if our dog had been outside or loud, that would have caused problems. But our dog was neither. I have contacted KOA directly. In the meantime, I want to share this negative feedback with other yelpers so they don't find themselves maneuvering dirty laundry through a crowded bathroom, excessively occupied recreation rooms, and menacing and rude staff. Very nice place!! Friendly staff, great place to walk, they will deliver pizza to your site! Clean and pretty. My favorite part is the rabbit family that visits morning and evening. I bought some carrots and toss slices into the grass by the RV to entice them. There are also a couple of horses that live behind us (separated by a fence). We only stayed here one night but i wish we could stay longer! The playground was super fun. I spent most of my time there. All of the activities they had there were super fun and i loved to watch all the kids laugh and play. I didn't personally swim in the pool but i was watching and it seemed that people were having a lot of fun! There is also these bike jumps in the back which i highly recommend. They were super fun even if you weren't planning on getting some air! My entire family enjoyed it. The staff is also very, very nice and welcoming. Its also very pretty here. Good enough for what we needed. I would stay here again if absolutely needed but I would not make this site a first pick or a destination. We had a tent site setup and I expressed to the KOA member that was completing our booking we appreciated a quiet spot. We got the end location at the far end of the site, perfect! Except when the family of four came in and set up right next to our site... bummer as there were over 10 other open spots available. They were a very beginner group as they shined flashlight at our tent, took random tree limbs from the surrounding area to burn, had loud unhappy children, and stayed up late with their campfire. The location has loud road noise, nothing they can do about it The location has major winds, nothing they can do about it - but be smart how you set up your tent. The bathrooms were fine, instant hot water was nice first thing in the AM, and always clean. Very small dog run, more like a pen. read more

We've been on the road for about 6 weeks staying at motels, KOA's, state park campgrounds, and independently owned campgrounds. This was without a doubt the most welcoming spot on our trip so far. Kathy and Herb were not only the best KOA hosts we've had but the best hosts we've come across at any place we've stayed. They always went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed as well as pointing us in the right direction of finding fun things to do in the area. All campsites/cabins and facilities were spotless. Would recommend to anyone. Cheers! read more
