My experience at ABV was nothing less than spectacular. I was greeted at the door, by a kind young man with a long red ponytail. At first, I thought a homeless person had attempted to seek refuge, but in actuality, I encountered a very professional salesman. He was quick to offer me a cup of coffee and a seat in his office. I gave him quite a difficult task: find a vehicle with less than 14,000 miles for only $10,000. This wasn't the "difficult" part of the task, however. I also instructed the gentleman to find a car with heated, massaging seats and a trunk large enough to store my sousaphone. In only 2 days, I received a call back, and I am now the proud owner of a 2015 Volvo XC60. The vehicle met all of my needs, and although the seats lacked massage capabilities, the gentleman gave me a $10 Tokyo Soul coupon and a free horseback riding lesson at Tanglewood. Every employee I encountered at ABV treated me with respect and dignity, unlike that jerk William Fuccillo. At Fuccillo's, I was told that no vehicle matched my requests, and it was suggested that I "look elsewhere." And so I did... ABV is my first choice for all future vehicle purchases and repairs. My sales guy , Cory, was very young and had no personality. He didn't know the features of the car I was looking for, nor how to use them. communication was lacking from him during the whole process. He never greets me when I come in for service, which has been a lot lately. Signing the paperwork the manager was pushy and rude. I almost walked out. No parking available around the entrance. I am still having major issues with my car, although they always seem to have rentals available while they work on it. read more

Alan Byer Volvo has lost a customer for trying to give them an extra $4,000.00, and here is why. They refused a VIP Warranty renewal on a nearly mint car! You hear Volvo ads all the time promoting their 'upgradeable to 10 year VIP warranty' but I am here to tell you, it is only talk. Blahblahblah is all I got. My wife bought a loaded 2020 Volvo S60 AWD T6 Inscription, Polestar tuned car, in Jan of 2021. Certified with 3,500 miles off corporate lease, it had a five year VIP warranty. However, the warranty Expired Oct 15, 2024 as that was that was 5 years from the 'in service date;' yet neither Volvo nor the servicing dealer here in town Alan Byer Volvo, ever gave us notice of expiration nor an offer to renew, which we would have willingly done. Thinking about it running out soon, I reached out at the end of Oct. and was originally told OK. A week later I got a revised email saying: 'sorry, two weeks too late' to renew the warranty on her 24,000 mile car with no accidents, incidents or missed service appointments. Volvo corporate in turn referred me Back to Alan Byer. What nonsense. So now any interest we had in a 2025 or 2026 Recharge or XC upgrade has now become a Tesla, Audi or Lexus search. After owning maybe a dozen Volvos over my life, this will be our last. In researching this issue, I discovered Volvo is now owned by the Chinese Geely Holding Group. Shame what their fine name has become. read more

Five stars for an amazing turnaround in service. I originally visited on January 15th which was a holiday Monday. The dealership was a bit busy so the experience wasn't top notch. I believe in second chances and gave Alan Byer another opportunity to win my business. After speaking with employees of Alan Byer, my son and I took another drive to Syracuse and test drove a vehicle that would become 'the car'. After driving several, after I got into the one I purchased, I knew it was the SUV for me. The comfort, the smoothness of the vehicle (being someone on the road a lot, this is important), and the safety ratings (of course safety first). The XC60 is amazing. Still figuring out the semantics as my car 'slammed its brakes on' as I was backing into my garage - still figuring out the bells and whistles of the car, but I can work with that. It's a tight squeeze in the garage next to my husband's truck, so nice to know the vehicle is adverse to tight spots. However, it does fit in the garage and just working through the tecchy features of the car. Any way, the vehicle is amazing, Alan Byer was easy to work with. Not the best, felt like I got a good deal at the time but felt ripped off afterward.

Awful experience. They lost my deposit check which I had to go to the bank and pay to void and then pay to wire the money. The manager told me it was essentially my fault as they "don't lose checks" and never apologized. The sales person had the wrong information about processing my plates and recommended I had the old plates destroyed and later after I received tags as opposed to new plates, that I had to go get new plates. The sales person was polite and kind, but seemed inexperienced. The whole experience was frustrating and could have been easily solved with an apology by this condescending manager. read more

Thought I found a decent deal on a used Nissan and a decent car dealership for once. WRONG! They posted the Nissan last week. I sent inquiries over the weekend. Got an email response Monday morning. Called and left a message and emailed them back. Got a return call. Salesman tells me it is mint and he will get me pictures. I told him I'll take it. He calls me back and says what price was it at because SOMEONE and it's always SOMEONE at the dealership incorrectly priced the car and they were getting a lot of inquiries about it. So the price is now $4500 more than what they listed on their site. I was asked so do you still want it? What a scam. Put a real decent price on a car come back from the weekend and see a lot of interest so jack the price up. read more

Very responsive and knowledgeable when purchasing car. Good support for first few weeks. However, my Volvo certified car was transported by carrier so I trusted that all certified requirements would be met . Problems: 1)One remote received broken, Alan Beyer sent part for it but still did not work. 2) Volvo on call did not work, did not even have thee latest software installed. 3) Alan Beyer said tires met minimum requirements, that may be true, I don't know, but we brought to local dealer and we replaced them, car handles much better. Local Volvo dealer says neither items 1 or 2 is covered by warranty. Need new remote and programming. Alan Byer sold me thle car, delivered it with these issues, but will not return calls to even try to help- how rude. Volvo customer support has not, so far, stood behind us. After weeks of poor communication, nothing has been resolved. Volvo On call is still not working either and I spent lots of time on the phone with Volvo tech support (3 calls) and and even local Volvo dealer could not get it working either. I have email and texts that prove the above situation was as described upon delivery of the car. Update: Volvo customer support has been in contact with our local dealer to get the Volvo on call application communication issues we are having with our cell phone resolved. Volvo is providing a second working remote and programming for us, free of charge, as a good will gesture. They spent a lot of time with us working on the issues. It is nice to know that Volvo stands behind their cars and service. Thank you Volvo! read more

Who knew buying a car from a dealership located more than 2 hours from home could be so easy? We needed to replace a car on pretty short notice. Being Volvo owners for more than 2 decades, we knew what we were looking for. Our closest dealership let us down in a big way but Brenin at Alan Byer was up to the challenge. After a quick phone call, we sped down the road hoping to get there before they closed on a Saturday. Even though we arrived after their last test drive, Brenin met us at the door and let us head out in the vehicle we asked about on the phone. We got back as they were closing but he took the time to get us a price, listened to our concerns, and promised we would hear back the next day even though they were closed. He was true to his word and we struck a deal over the phone. He went above and beyond to answer questions and even worked with our insurance agent to ensure adequate coverage. We picked the vehicle up a few days later and the entire process took about an hour. Everything was done not just to our satisfaction, but beyond our expectations! read more

I was just totally BULLIED !!! Beware of Matt in the service department! I brought my Volvo in for diagnosis because it wouldn't start without a jump. They said after a thorough diagnosis, which I paid $125 for, they found I needed a new battery. So I had them replace it. Not even a week goes by after service, The steering wheel locks, and the car stalls in the middle of moving traffic! Scary situation to say the least. I had to tow the car back to them. I asked why this didn't show up in the original diagnosis? They offered a crude explanation, no apology, and no compassion. They didn't answer any of my questions. However, they did manage to offer me a trade in & tried to have their salesman Chris, (who also doesn't answer your questions, and talks in long-winded circles), push a 2018 XC90 w/an unclear history on me. Thirsty jerks. I left there feeling mishandled and bewildered. Not the service or treatment you'd expect from a luxury auto brand such as Volvo. I hope this is helpful. This was my first Volvo purchase and the closest location I could find one in the color I wanted was more than an hour and half away in Syracuse at Alan Byer Volvo. The Sales Rep I dealt with Braden with was very friendly, engaging and provided me with stellar service but everything went south when I picked up the vehicle a few days later . The Airbag warning light was on and I was advised by sales and sales manager it was a software issue and and easy fix and since the vehicle was under warranty I could take it to my hometown local Volvo dealership???,when I got home I noticed that the sunroof and dome lights were also not working. ***Was the adulated certified, 75-point check performed at all??***.I called the Salesman and he ensured me that the service department would reach out to ,me first thing Monday as they are closed over the weekend. The service dept. reached out to me and advised me I bring the vehicle at the end of the week when they have a loaner and I advised him that was unacceptable as I had just bought the vehicle , the issues was fixed ,then a week later the engine light came on. I called the dealership and I was advised to take it to my local Volo Service department rather than bring it back to Syracuse ..I am so so disgruntled and displeased with my first overall Volvo purchase experience with these multiple issues I have faced with this vehicle and the time I have had to spend to get these issues fixed in the first 2 week of purchasing the vehicle. read more

While our salesman Braden was very kind and informative about the Volvo brand, we unfortunately had a horrible experience with the Sales Manager Chris. His long-winded answers was condescending and had an "always right" attitude. All while belittling the customers views and disregarded our needs/wants. While we cannot say enough positive things about the Volvo brand, we had to go elsewhere to purchase our new Volvo. I encourage further training for the sales manager to properly speak with customers. Especially with customers who are serious about purchasing and travel an hour and a half for a service that is expected when purchasing a luxury SUV.. I had an appointment on 8/18 12pm for oil change, inspection, seat belt recall, low battery light, windshield washer fluid low light and tire rotation. I received a call at 4pm to tell me they weren't able to get to everything and would need it overnight, after asking about the loaner car I had reserved and told them my dog had a veterinary appointment on the 19th would I be able to take him in the loaner vehicle. I was told no, so I said keep it overnight but I will be by at 10:00am to on the 19th to pick it up. Was told they should be able to finish everything. Got there at 10am to be told by Roman that they weren't able to determine the low battery light, weren't able to do the seatbelt recall and figure out why the windshield washer light was on even with a full tank of the fluid. Needless to say I was not happy as you had it for 22 hours and couldn't perform all the work that was scheduled. Also, I have the full set front and back of the Weather Tech floor mats and the drivers side has what appears to be battery acid they are discolored now with white stuff. Will not be using this dealership again. read more

Dropped off my SUV at 8:30 for scheduled apt to repair hood latch. Had to call at 1:39 as hadn't heard anything back. Was told hood was fixed but latch was broken so they needed to order parts which would be in next week. I decided to pick it up and make another apt for next week when part was in. When I picked it up, they had not repaired anything, only reset software. Seems the service department doesn't know what they are doing or how to communication. read more

(Waiting room has wifi, cleanest restroom Ive ever seen in a garage (important to me) with Harrison (yum) bakery next door. #2 Service adviser went over in detail the work done, and what I may possibly need in the next few months. I recently brought my car into Alan Byer's for it's first service. It was a wonderful experience. My advisor Brook took the time to explain to me the importance of performing regularly scheduled maintenances on my car, including the time and mileage intervals. I had some questions regarding accessories I wanted to purchase and she was extremely helpful in that area also. I was directed to the waiting room, which to my delight had a gourmet coffee machine and a "goodie" basket. I was very comfortable with my snacks sitting in the comfy chairs, the waiting room was bright and cheerful. Shortly I was informed my car was ready, I was very pleasantly surprised when I went out to my just washed and vacuumed car.
