Without getting into details, suffice to say that I returned a part (vacuum hose) at around 8 am on July 31, 2026 and was treated kindly and fairly by the gentleman at the Parts counter. I was not made to feel as if I were a nuisance or that he was doing me a favor by simply taking my order, as is often the case with other customer-facing enterprises these days. My experience on first service was not so great , I was told my first and last service should be free of charge , but they charge me for tire rotation $ 26.95 and they told me that I have nail in my tire and it would cost me over $ 200 to replace tire. I did decline to pay for new tire and after a few minutes they told me that it was mistake , it was another car. Something else I would like to add about my experience with your company . They told me I would have a gift card for test driving and never got and another issue I had when I make appointment to learn about my vehicle the person who I had appointment with was not there. The service department has definitely gone down hill over the past 4 years, so I continue to reconsider buying another Subuaru due to this they continue to give false promises on when your car will be completed have given me a hard time about getting a rental in the past which was a major downgrade from my ascent and charge outrageous labor costs because they can. No one likes the car buying experience or car salesmen but these guys are the worst. They originally offered me a sticker price of 33k on a car with a 25k MSRP, they were gracious enough to drop the price to 30k. When I told them I wasn't paying 5k over MSRP, the dealer got visibly angry and sent in his finance manager. The finance manager told me he "wouldn't be able to offer me this price again if I leave". I hope he doesn't offer anyone that price again because it was an offensive markup to begin with. Ended up buying a new one from Romano for MSRP, where they have respectful sales people and free snacks. read more

The work they did was expensive and they returned the car covered in bird droppings. When we took the Outback into Rapp's, it was clean. When we got it back there were at least 15 bird droppings on it, including two on the windshield (One immediately in front of the driver!!) and three on the driver's side window. In addition, we took it in becaue of a suspicious noise in the drivetrain that they diagnosed as worn tires. A day later, we put new tires on it and the noise is still there. read more

New owners, just like the old owners. General manager, Kyle Moon, condescending, rude, and no respect for women. I've never had a good experience here. My daughter bought a black Nissan Rogue, complete w contract and vin no and they called the next day to ask "are you okay with navy blue?" We bought a black one from Fox. Before that I bought a used black forester, put down $500, went back the next day and they'd sold it out from under me. I bought a used 2021 Forester in 2022 and paid $870 for the junky Zurich rustproofing which it turns out was never done. Spoke to Kyle today and he couldn't have cared less. They'd rather have a bad NYDMV letter and a ding on their BBB RATING. They're using a new, equally bad product made by Armor All and the reviews for that product are as bad as they are for Zurich. I'll go to Romano or drive to Rochester to Van Bortel. If it hadn't been during high Covid when I needed a car I never would have bought it there. They aren't to be trusted. read more

I called because (like thousands of other Subaru owners after use...) the key will jam in the ignition and not come out. This is a common problem with Subarus, as I have learned through many Subaru forums. I called and spoke to the Service Department. They said they couldn't see my car for 5 weeks. Are you kidding me? I cannot leave my key lodged in my ignition (in public lots) for that long. Even though Subaru America said they would cover this service, Bill Rapp was awful. Had a 1:00 appointment for an inspection of a newer SUV with new tires and wipers. One hour later "Richard " came out and said I need new wipers and back brake rotors and pads at $630.00. Told him I live one hour away and had to get home and then think if over. Another 20 minute wait while they hooked it up to the "inspection computer " and then charged me $21.00. I told him that last year my Subaru was inspected there, free of charge. He said he had nothing in his computer- to show this; I came home and found the receipt from last year with no charge . While I've never bought a car from Bill Rapp, I've used their service department quite a bit and have always found them to be very professional and the work is done in a timely manner. For two cars now and whether the job was big (getting 2 pistons replaced) or small (getting my oil changed), I always felt like I was treated like a good customer even though my license plate didn't have their name on it. The parts guys are all very friendly and knowledgeable from the few times I've needed to bug them. I have close friends who have worked with Bill Rapp Subaru to buy their cars and seem to be happy - so I'd feel comfortable recommending them for a car purchase as well. If you're in CNY and in the market for a Suby (every other person) then Bill Rapp is a solid choice. read more

We have always had good service at Bill Rapp Subaru. Recently took our Forester in the Express Service because we heard an odd noise coming from the back wheel. We thought it was an easy fix. Found out we needed all new brakes front and back. The Express Service team talked to the main Service manager and got our car into regular service. It was urgent because my daughter needed the car to drive out of town the next day by noon. The Service team put priority on our car and installed all new brakes by 11:00. We were very grateful that they understood our urgency and got the job done. Even washed the car! Woke up early, drove 30 miles and arrived at 0800 (30 mins after the Express Service center opened). I was turned away saying they were not doing express service today. I have been a faithful customer of this dealership SINCE Feb. 2018 when I bought a previously owned 2.5I Legacy from them and today is the last day they will make money off me. I scheduled a service appointment on 12/18/23 at 8:10 a.m. for a minor service (replacing fog lights, car horns, plus other small miscellaneous things). I arrived on time a little after 8 a.m., checked in at the express service lane, left my car key, got my service ticket, and proceeded to wait like every other customer in the waiting room, also like other 100s times that I've been there. I thought this would take a maximum of two hours to install and troubleshoot what doesn't go as plan. Almost FIVE HOURS have passed and this is when everything all went to hell. I went to the front desk to find out the progress of my car at 12:55...only to learn that NO ONE had yet to work on my car. Apparently, I needed to check in at the front desk, so they officially knew I'm there for my appointment. Some may say that after four years of being their customer, I should've known that process by now. I guess you are correct, and this is reasonable, but that's what a long and stressful 12-hour shift with a sleep deprivation could do to you. I have to say this check-in system is also the BIGGEST flaw in the system. Indeed, I was given a little ticket to let me know that my car key and my car are in their possession with the same ticket number hung on the rear view mirror inside the car. Not only no one had worked on my car, the system flagged me as a "NO SHOW" for my appointment! I accepted that I should have checked in, but this is where the break down of communication occurred. I was waiting in the lobby for almost five hours and no one came to check on me if anyone has helped me or assisted me. At one time, I was the only customer there. They relied too much on electronic system instead of common sense and HUMAN INTELLIGENCE to see if the customer had shown up for appointment. If they had my car key and the car with the ticket number on a rear view mirror, how could I not be there and had me as a no show. This is by far the BIGGEST and the WORST breakdown in COMMUNICATION I have ever experienced anywhere in my life time. I have witnessed break down in communications at work before, but BELIEVE ME this is the worst example of all. If this dealership were an emergency room, patients would die waiting in the lobby because the staff didn't bother to come check on the patient. For over four years, they never remember who I am, let alone remembering my name. I'm just another faceless customer whom they squeeze every dime out of in exchange for the service we receive. FIVE hours wasted with no work performed. Half my day off wasted with no result to show for. One last note, DO NOT purchase car parts from Bill Rapp Subaru. They up-charge the items well above the market price. For example, I was looking to buy a new headlight assembly to match another brand new headlight assembly on the other side. I was quoted over $700 for a new one whereas you would only spend over $500 FOR THE SAME PRODUCT WITH THE SAME SERIAL NUMBER FROM OTHER SUBARU DEALERS. Other dealers have comparable prices and the only major difference in payment is the shipping cost. Do your homework before buying from this particular dealership. I used to give them high rate and praise for customer service (with an exception of price gouging on the car parts), but from this day forward I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE EVER AGAIN. P.S.: just realized I could not give a ZERO star on this review. This is exactly the score they deserve, but ONE star would do. read more
