Alan Clark's took care of me with a customer service that rivals Chick-Fil-A. After getting hit in a parking lot in a state I don't even live in while I wasn't even in my vehicle my stress level was at an all time high. I immediately called Alan Clark and got a quote and an appointment scheduled. After getting the run around from the insurance company and enterprise car rental, Alan Clark was my rock through it all. Not only did they do an excellent job on my vehicle but they also gave me advice on how I might go about handling the insurance companies crap. The exact advice the guy gave me was exactly what I needed to avoid paying hundreds of extra dollars for my repair and rental vehicle. Even when not all the work was completed the first time on my vehicle (a very small detail that's easily overlooked) Alan Clark got me back in ASAP and even apologized for the inconvenience. This is one of those situations where I hope I never have to be in this store again but if I ever am in another fender-bender or accident of any kind that needs body work, Alan Clark will be my first and only choice for all my repairs. It seems like many of the positive reviews for this place may be from people who simply let their insurance handle everything and did not have to deal with the communication process directly. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend doing more research on other review sites before trusting the overall rating. Their rating on Yelp is much lower, around 1.8 stars, which makes the higher rating elsewhere feel misleading. I contacted them multiple times trying to get an estimated price and understand the process. I was told to send my VIN to a phone number, which I did. I also sent pictures of the damage and videos so they could see the condition of the vehicle. After sending everything they asked for, I never received a proper response. I had to call again, and the next person who answered seemed confused and had no idea what I was talking about. It felt like my situation was brushed off, and there was little to no communication between the staff. I originally called on Thursday and Friday, but because of their attitude and poor communication, I decided to check with a different body shop first. That is why I waited until Wednesday before moving forward. In the end, I still decided to go with them, which turned out to be a terrible decision. Eventually, I was told to tow the vehicle in, so I did. Even after that, I still had to keep calling to figure out what was going on because they were not clearly communicating with me. Throughout the process, I felt like I was being spoken to in a condescending and disrespectful tone, as if I did not understand anything about the situation. I was especially patient with Chris, but the way the situation was handled was very frustrating. He made it seem like the car not starting was a major issue, when the only reason it would not start was because the battery was dead. A dead battery can usually be handled by jumping the car or using temporary power to scan the codes with a code reader, especially for basic inspection purposes. What bothered me even more is that it did not seem like they went through the proper process to inspect the car before giving me an estimate. Chris stated that he did not start the car or check the codes, yet the estimate and comments were being made as if they had fully evaluated the vehicle. In my opinion, that feels like a rushed and careless way to handle the situation. If you are going to give an estimate, especially after I sent the VIN, photos, videos, and paid to tow the vehicle in, then the vehicle should actually be checked properly instead of making assumptions or giving a half-done estimate. What made the experience even worse was that I was the customer who had every reason to be frustrated, but somehow Chris was the one acting frustrated with me. Instead of being understanding or professional, Chris acted annoyed and impatient, as if I was the inconvenience. Later, while I was still trying to get an estimated price, Chris became angry and complained that the car did not start because of the dead battery and had "too many custom parts." That was not accurate. The vehicle is almost all factory parts, other than the bumper and fog lights. At that point, he decided the vehicle was too much for them to handle. I had to then tow the vehicle to a different body shop to get it checked out, and the other shop told me the damages were extremely minor. That made this experience feel even worse because this shop made the situation seem much more complicated/expensive than it actually was. Because of this, I wasted over $85 getting the car towed there, only to deal with condescending attitudes and unprofessional behavior. Losing patience with a customer multiple times is not acceptable, especially from someone working at the front and representing the business. During the entire process, I kept trying to communicate and ask what they needed and what I should do, but the tone I received made it clear that my calls were being treated as an annoyance. My brothers car was hit in a parking lot a few months ago. He took it to Alan Clark body shop since they had good reviews. When the car was done a few months later my brother immediately could see the panels didn't align and there are gaps between the fender and bumper around the headlight assembly. They told him it was the best that it was going to get. He took the car and while driving noticed a whistling wind noise. He took the car back and they said it was power steering and to take it to Honda. He did and there was nothing wrong with the power steering and they informed him the noise was coming from his fender. The car was not aligned correctly and while it was at Honda they tried to align it as well and they couldn't due to something not visible being bent. (2 month prior to accident he went and got a alignment done at Honda with no issues). He took the car back to Alan Clark and they said since Honda tried to align it that they were no longer responsible for anything. They also claim the noise is coming from a power cable from his KTuner which has been installed and working with no issues way before the accident. Now my brother is left with a vehicle that pulls to the right and whistles and Alan Clark said they won't do anything to it cause Honda tried to align it when they told him to take it to Honda to begin with. This is a horrible way to do business and anyone reading this think about how you would feel if your car was perfectly fine before it got hit, it takes months to get your car fixed, and it's not fixed and now they will no longer assist you cause you took your car to the dealership as instructed by them. Long story short they did a half ass job, got paid by the insurance, and now with the money in the bank they no longer have any need to help. Don't do business with these guys!! read more

I came out on a Sunday morning and discovered a horrible looking dent in the hood of my car. My mechanic advised me to take the car to Alan Clark and I'm glad I did. They got my car in on a Monday and I had it back by Thursday. The car looks amazing and they even detailed the interior of the car for me. They were great about letting me know what was happening as the week progressed. The staff were cordial and knowledgeable. Just a great experience for me. I would definitely use them again...but hope I won't have to. read more

Had an awful experience. They claimed that the damage to the wheel well liner was due to me hitting a curb, rather that the insurance claim of hitting a deer. I never have hit a curb and there was no damage to my car until I hit the deer; however, the technician with 40 years experience knew the history of my car. Of course with some pushback and Tommy at the front desk being very rude to me, they agreed to fix all the damage caused by the deer. After the work taking twice as long as estimated, they replaced the new windshield washer reservoir and claimed that the brackets were broken. However; I was looking at the old part that was completely in tack, because I asked to keep all the old parts. The service manager finally told me a lie that was plausible. The paint has several imperfections and drips. Tommy assured me they guarantee the work unless it is a rock chip. They always give themselves and out, tell lies and are incredibly rude. Look elsewhere for a shop that will not give you the run around and cheat your insurance company. read more

Had to have roughly 1/3 my car repainted. Provided a fair price and realistic timeline for the repair. They were able to accommodate my odd schedule, let me drop off a few days early and pick up a few days late without any extra storage cost. I wrote a review years ago that was apparently removed, for whatever reason. I certainly didn't lie about this business. I dropped my truck off with them while I was gone for military training for a month; I wanted them to fix a dent, about a foot in size, and repaint the vehicle. First, now that I'm a bit older and knowledgeable, the price was extremely high for a paint job and dent fix. Second, not only did they not do the work in the month that I was gone, but they didn't complete it within a month of my return. Additionally, I had to call in order to receive updates on the progress, probably because there wasn't any. Also, I had to demand that they give me a rental car as some sort of compensation; I can't go months without a vehicle. Low and behold they fixed my truck up real quick after they had to pay for the rental vehicle. As someone else stated, the gentleman at the front desk, who I believe is the owner, was completely lacking in the customer service department; he didn't even greet me, and no one apologized for the horrendous handling of my vehicle. Lastly, and this is purely speculation, but it seemed as though they weren't military friendly, despite the huge military presence in the area. I witnessed others in the facility treated far better than I was while in my uniform. read more

These people are great!!! If your a car guy, these are the car guys, car guy. Daughter put a ding on my 2014 Camaro door. I went there Thursday and was unable to make it on Friday, when there paintless body repair guy would be in. They arranged for me to meet him there Saturday when they were closed. That was a great relief, could not even look at my car while that ding was on it. I had the feeling that they actually cared about the car and my distress. The work they performed was immaculate and price for work was great!!! I would recommend them for any body work you might need. I cannot express enough how great my experience was there. read more

The guy at the desk didn't say much. He just greeted me and did an estimate on my car. The estimate took about 30 minutes. He basically told me the estimate amount and left me with that. I had to ask him how long it would take to fix my dent and if they were using after marker or original parts. The part that I didn't like was the fact that he quoted me for the lower bumper part which wasn't necessary to replace at all. The other body shop informed me that if the scuff didn't bother me then the lower bumper didn't need to be replaced. I think this place was just trying to get as much money as they could from me. I recently moved to Manhattan and had to get some damage on my fender and bumper repaired. The staff at Alan Clark was extremely helpful and they did a wonderful job. Before going to Alan Clark I had been to Schroll's and had been given an extraordinarily high quote (they were also very eager to completely replace a bumper that only had minor scratches on it) and had provided mediocre service (definitely not the friendliest or most polite people I'd been to). The Briggs body shop had not even responded to my e-mail inquiry. The good service at Alan Clark started over the phone, when they were extremely friendly and helpful. Once I got in, I immediately noticed how well-organized and clean their main office was (while technically not something that would affect your car repair work, I take that as a sign of people really taking care of their business and being willing to put in the extra work for it). Everyone I talked to was extremely friendly and helpful and willing to work with me to keep costs down during repair. Once I dropped my car off, they ran into some problems matching the paint color but were willing to work extra hard (at not extra cost) to match the color exactly. I was so excited when I picked up my car and saw how amazing it looked. Seriously good work. I will recommend this place to all of my friends. read more
