Buyer Beware: Forced Zelle Payments for Flight Changes: I am giving this company 1 star only because there is no option to give zero. Honestly, my experience was far worse and does not deserve even a single star. I genuinely do not understand how this company operates for U.S. customers. I needed to change the date on an already ticketed flight and was fully prepared to pay the fare difference. However, despite the original ticket being purchased using a credit card, this agency refused to accept any payment method other than Zelle for the additional charges. We are not talking about a small amount - in my case, the payment requested was over $1,000. Expecting customers to send such large sums through Zelle, where there is little to no transaction protection, is completely unreasonable and highly unprofessional. Any legitimate travel agency handling high-value transactions should provide secure payment methods such as credit cards. What makes this situation even worse is that this "policy" was never clearly disclosed during the original booking process. Had I known upfront that future ticket changes would require unsecured Zelle payments only, I would never have booked through this agency in the first place. Every concern or question I raised was met with the same robotic response: "It is our policy." No flexibility, no customer consideration, and absolutely no accountability. The so-called discounted fares are simply not worth the stress, financial risk, and horrible customer service experience. Used Alanita ( supposed to have a 'lot of experience in the USA - India flights' sector ) to book full priced business class tickets for my senior parents. Only to find out after they reach the airport that lounge access is not included in the price. When called, the agents and the manager state that we as customers should have asked explicitly for it. Why do I need Alanita as an agent if we are expected to know this ? All full price business class fares included lounge access in all my business travels. Stay Away!!! I was Alanita customer for long time. but not anymore because of their policy. They will charge you with hefty $375 cancellation fees even if you cancel within 10 min after booking. And they will blame on airline that they are charging this fees. but instead it's their policy. There so many traveller agent out there who gives free 24 hr cancellation policy Like some credit card travel agent or indian eagle. so if you book with them, you have peace of mind that you can cancel or change itinerary within 24 hour. and prices are same or even cheaper with those agents who give free cancellation policy. I have been their customer for over 10 years. They have started charging cancellation or change fees even if the booking is less than 24 hours. I booked a ticket and due to change in plans had to change/cancel my ticket. Within 2 hours I contacted them and told them that I need to change my ticket to a later date. I was promptly told that I need to pay penalty even if the booking is less than 24 hours. Very interesting as airlines give you a full refund within 24 hours. I believe they have gotten more greedy and don't care about long term customers anymore. You can say a lot about how a company conducts themselves during peak demand periods and unfortunately Alanita has shown their ugly side. They are a terrible travel agency. You are better off booking somewhere else. There is a long wait to get to just a receptionist who then arranges a call back. This call back from a travel agent takes forever and usually I have had to wait 2-3 hours too despite being told to expect a response in 10 minutes. the booking process is also terrible. Their agents often cannot see the fares we see in other websites and dont offer all the best options. They are unable to explain the ticket cancellation or rebooking details clearly and do not assist you in any meaningful way. I was told to check multiple rules (like long transit layover times needing a Shengen visa or not) with the airline directly. If I have to find out all the information, that defeats the purpose of booking with a travel agent. Overall, I will never be booking with them again. read more

Once they have your money, don't count on their help. Please before you use them, read the other reviews. It's much better to buy fares through other agencies or through Google or the airline directly. They use 3rd party tickets and even if you want to change a $60 flight they'll charge over $1000. I was hung up on, not called back, & consistently treated like they could care less for my business. We booked our flights overseas with them and wanted to do more and change stuff around... needless to say we made our original flights work but booked our tours and other agencies and through Google/Expedia. They say they're based out of NJ but in reality no matter what number you call you are directed to a South Asian country (which would have been fine had they been competent). Another reason not to book with them is you call and talk to x - then when you call back y answers and says you need to talk to x but they're not available so you talk with z. When you call back and don't care who you talk to but need help, no one is available and they don't want to help so they make excuses saying you can only talk to the previous person.... I would like share our recent booking experience with Alanita Travel and our travel experience. At the time of ticket reservations I double checked all connection airlines from BNA to HYD as per per-reservation the connection airlines were operated by QATAR from BNA to BOS, BOS to DOH and DOH to HYD. Some days after completing the reservation Agent from Alanita notified us travel from BNA to BOS operated by Jetblue and DOH to HYD operated Indigo Airlines. I called Alanita Travel and told them this was very unprofessional act and not happy with that in many ways (like delayed notification, not happy with connection airlines change etc..). The Indigo flight in our final leg of journey was small and big enough to carry Baggage for all passengers and finally missed 4 of our checked bags. It took us 4 hours to file a complaint and leave the airport without our bags. Guntur which is 5 to 6 hours away from HYD was our final destination. After filing complaint no proper communication from airlines we have to call Airlines Baggage service dept. at regular intervals to get the latest update. It had been 3 days as of now and they hadn't delivered our baggage yet. During this time I called Alanita to help me to track our baggage and they simply said I need to deal with Airlines. I called Jetblue airlines they told me that they handed over our baggage to Qatar. There no helpful informatiom from QATAR website other than that Baggage was loaded onto the Qatar flight. Bottom line is make be aware of all the connection flight, how they operate and look for reviews for missing Baggage etc. After the fact I found BlueRibbon Baggage 3rd party Service for a small fee would be helpful if you have any concerns about missing your baggage. They are so greedy people, if you want to change or cancel ticket they charge a lump from you even though airlines does the change free for the first time. It is the same price of you cancel/change in first 24hours. When I wanted to talk to manager and asked the representative to transfer he claimed that he is the only supervisor and was so rude and ridiculous. I booked the same ticket through Expedia for my mother and they charged $40 to change the ticket for another date, where as alanita quoted $335 for the same ticket type and change. My collegaue refered Alanita travel. I have booked my ticket to India from USA. They were very flexible when booking ticket, by giving all possible solutions. that was good. 10hrs before my flight departure, I received that flight got cancelled. The travel team said since this was cancelled within 24hrs of flight take off , travel agency cant talk or do any help. I was asked to talk to the operator and rebook for later dates. Alanita didnt sulpport for rebooking or matching the baggage allowance though I specifically told baggage preference and its need during the ticket booking. Morever some travel agency people were rude and illogical. They dont treat the customers respectfully when they got problems. They show their true colour. Many in the agency are nderstanding the problem we are telling This was my first booking and would be last with them. I go to travel agency so they would have my back but Alanita is only keen in booking tickets and getting money but not in resolving issues that too critical ones. They folks are running a scam. Don't use them! We had bought Delta Airline tickets through Alanita which could be changed or cancelled without a fee. Unfortunately had to cancel our trip due to Covid related reasons and we ended up with a credit with Delta Airlines to be used within a year. We were also told that upon rebooking we would only have to pay the fare difference, if any. We recently used the airline credit to rebook tickets and Alanita charged us $440 extra even though the new ticket prices were below the original prices and less than the credit we had with Delta. They said this was a fee imposed by the airline. We confirmed from Delta Airlines that there was no such fee being levied by them. It was just a twisted way for Alanita to extract money from people who were stuck in a difficult situation due to Covid. Alanita is an unethical business - do not support them. read more

This is the worst travel agency that I have ever seen so far. Even I star is not good enough for them. I was told that I can make changes to the trip within 24 hours but when I called one of the agents to make changes to my trip they put me on hold for a while and told me that I was gonna get a callback from them but I have never heard from them again. So I tried keep calling them like 4-5 times(they wasted my time of 5 hrs) and I was finally told that I cannot make any changes to my trip now. One of the agents his name is SRINI ALANITA he said that is his original name last name) demanded me 400$ to make any changes to my trip. The guy that wasted my time and make him call several times was VICKY(refused to tell their full names). Their plan is to make me wait until 24 hours get past and wanted to demand some money. We were desperately looking for a ticket to fly to India on the next 24 hours. We called Alsnita based on a friend's recommendation. The agent jasmine was very efficient and found us several options in less than 20 minutes and at very reasonable price. Reading several ONE/TWO star reviews. Most of the problems seems to occur when the flight needs to be rescheduled or cancelled. Many have complained of not getting the right seats. Many have complained about the credit card payment process ( we have to fill multiple forms etc ). Going back to my situation ... I needed a ticket to fly the next day to India and could not get any ticket on any of the websites ( Expedia, Kayak ... ) for less than $2500. Alsnita found one for $600. Yes I had to go through the hurdles of not getting a seat assignment, complex credit card payment process .. but it was all worth it for me. As far as the refund process... This was the most aweful experience we ever had with travel agencies. Alanita travels do NOT take accountability to any of the flight changes. We had one air india ticket connecting to united airlines. We received an email from air india that the arrival time in Chicago changed which means, we need to take a later connecting flight which we knew one day before the travel date. I spent approx. 4 hours talking to various representatives in alanita and they asked us to pay $250 for the changes which are not initiatied by us. There is no other option provided and they asked us to go to the airport counter and check with them. They said the cost we paid for the united will be forfeited and we did not want to book the new flight with them. After that I contacted united by myself and they helped solve the situation without additional dollars being charged to us. Alanita will NOT take accountability for any flight changes.
