Had my first experience with Alan today. He came and fixed 4 door dings across two of my Teslas. Two of them were on the seam/line and pretty severe for door dings, but he worked on them meticulously to get then all cleaned up. Communication: Alan did take a while and some back and forths to get scheduled, but I'm confident that's because he must be in such high demand due to the high quality of work and his extremely reasonable prices. Texting is probably best and be patient if he doesn't get back to you right away, he always responds within a day. Scheduling: Alan was great about setting up some options for me and when an earlier time came up that worked for me, he let me know. He was running a little late the day of and sent me a heads up text, which was appreciated. Quality of work: You can tell that Alan is very experienced and dedicated to doing quality work. He spent a lot longer than I would have guessed trying to perfect things that already looked great to me. I really appreciate his level of commitment in treating each dent like it was his own car. When I pointed it out to my son he said, "you can barely tell there was a dent there" as he pointed to an area that wasn't even where the dent was. LOL. I had to point him to the area where I THINK the original dent was because I'm honestly not sure myself. Value/Price: I got an estimate from a local dent replace place (I won't name names) but their quote was over $2000 for just 3 dents on just one of my two cars. Alan took care of those 3 and did 1 on my other car for a FRACTION of what the other shop estimated and did it in my driveway in a few hours vs having to drive and leave it at a shop for at least a day (that's what they quoted me for the one car with 3 dents). I'm sure the other place has reasons for why they charge so much with overhead and staff, but for door dings like this, I can't see the justification for that kind of pricing. Alan's prices were a deal not even considering the comparison with the other shop. Personality: As others have said, Alan is also just a really nice person. We chatted about all sorts of things from cars to other hobbies during breaks where I tried to offer him something to drink or snack on (he worked through lunch without stopping other than to eat a protein bar I gave him). He was more friendly than professional, which is what I prefer. At the end of the experience, I felt so positive, which is not something I typically say about any kind of car repair/service. To that end, that's why I wanted to leave a lengthy and detailed review to add the the dozens of other 5 star reviews. This is the first time I've used PDR. Infact it took me a little time to find someone that doesn't just rush through things. Found Alan online and saw the great reviews. I had contacted Alan and discussed that two of our vehicles have dents on them. My STi had a passenger door ding and two hood dents. Alan is an awesome PDR tech, he will tell your right away if he can fix a dent or not. I texted him over the weekend and he responded a few days later (busy guy so give him time). He gave me a quote and time frame. The price he gives you is better than 95% of people in the area and 1/3-1/2 the price of body shops, so before you head there contact Alan. My car was unfortunately dinged in a parking lots where it caused two dents, one in the body line and one on the lower part of the door as you can see in photos. Once Alan did his thing you can barely notice that there were dents anymore I'd say he restores it 99% of the way because you may notice very very small blemishes (only if you know exactly where to look and what angle), but that's standard once you get a dent. Luckily, Alan still honored his original price even though my car was more difficult to work on. I tipped him a little for his extra effort. Alan is 100% worth the money. I contacted two dent repair companies after I had a white plastic lane divider thrown at me by another car on 495. Caused a massive dent on my right front quarter panel and knocked my side mirror off. Two of them said they couldn't do it because it was on a contour line. I found Alan on Yelp and sent the pictures to him. He was honest up front and said he thought he could do it but he wasn't sure. However, I brought him the car and he said he could do it so I was stoked. I was astounded when I picked up my car. I can't even tell there was damage. I have a 2014 Camaro and some other car slammed its door on my driver's door and left fingernail-sized dent (yeah i know i just counldnt get over it).
