However, the drivers actually pull into the hotel to pick up passengers. My girlfriends and I had two different pickup times, and on both occasions we nearly missed our rides because we were given incorrect instructions by dispatch. To make matters worse, Courtney, the manager, was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional when we tried to resolve the issue. Ironically, both drivers apologized and told us that dispatch frequently gives guests the wrong pickup instructions. The only bright spot was our driver, Scott. He was friendly, professional, and outstanding. He deserves recognition for providing excellent customer service despite the confusion created by dispatch. Management needs to address this communication breakdown immediately so future travelers don't have the same frustrating experience.

I want to start with saying that Hawaii has the worst traffic in the nation! I personally have an electric car and 2 others. So it is a my choice to take the train. Well here's what I see on the train...it's clean with 4 car trains that can accommodate up to 800 people. The seats rotate on facing both front and back depending on the location the train is going as well as sideways seats. There are sections with hooks where you can hang your bicycle and overhead storage space in some areas for luggage. The train is reliable and leaves every 10 minutes. I have only seen 1 delay that was 2 minutes late but they try to make up for it by shortening the time the doors open. There are construction and other workers getting off at the Pearlhighlands and Stadium locations. Then there are active duty and civilian workers that get off at the Joint base. I personally started riding for the airport (parking in $27/day) This stop is a game changer. I hear that many of the downtown and Waikiki workers get off at Lagoon and take a W bus straight there. There has been times that there aren't any seats and I had to stand. The best part is checking my map to see how long it will take to get somewhere and it says 1 hour 10 min and the train is 26 minutes. I can't help but wave at the cars stuck in traffic saying "bye I am so glad that this little island with over a million people is getting on alternative transportation.

The ride was on time and fairly smooth and let us out near one of the terminals. The wasn't too long to the other terminal. We took advantage of the Senior Holo Card that we picked up at the DMV. With this card our cost is only 1.25 per 2 1/2 hour use and can be combined with the bus. The W line bus to Town is available at the Airport. The system is fairly easy to use and great way to not be caught in traffic.

The Pouhala Waipahu Transit Center Skyline Station is one of the most used stations on the system…read moreso far. It is directly connected to the Waipahu Transit Center, where there are buses to the Waipahu neighborhoods and surrounding areas. There are also numerous strip malls, the Waipahu Festival Market, and Waipahu Public Library/Civic Center within walking distance. If you're looking for bathrooms, you can get off here and use the bus station ones. They are nasty, but if you gotta go, it's only a 10 minute ride from either end! The most useful bus connection is route 433 if you want to go to the Waikele Premium Outlets. Coming from the Stadium, do note that the bus leaves at 00 and 30 of each hour most days, and the train arrives on the 7's, so you might want to get an earlier train and wait a bit more instead of missing the bus that leaves in 3 minutes completely. This station gets 4 stars until the makai entrance gets built. Enjoy!

It takes longer where you want to go but I enjoyed the breeze and saved me from aches and pains. The ride is $6 and it's an all day pass. It starts just before 10 am and I think it ends at 8 pm. You can buy the pass from the bus driver in cash. They don't accept credit cards and they prefer exact change only. If you have the JCB credit card, your ride is free. Don't lose your ticket since you have to present it when boarding.
