I was looking for an alarm company to take over my existing system after Cox announced it would no longer provide service beginning in October 2026. I have a professionally installed hardwired system with door and window contacts, motion detectors, and glass-break sensors. My Vista-20P panel and Honeywell keypads are still widely used, so I wanted to keep my existing equipment. I sent a fairly technical request to four different local alarm companies. Destiny Aguilar from Alarm Relay (a subsidiary of Watchlight) was the only person who responded immediately and provided a proposal with two monitoring options. I chose the plan that best fit my needs because the activation fee, monitoring cost, and equipment pricing were all very reasonable--and lower than the other three bids. She answered all of my follow-up questions promptly and never tried to sell me a new system, unlike some of the other companies. I also liked the one-year agreement because it gave me the opportunity to evaluate the company without being locked into the two- or three-year contracts the other bidders required. To make the deal even better, she included four months of free monitoring. The only caveat is that Alarm Relay ships the communicator directly to you and schedules an appointment with a technician, who guides you through the installation and testing over the phone. The installation was straightforward, the process went smoothly, and I'm now a happy Alarm Relay customer. If you're not comfortable with the DIY approach, you can arrange for one of their technicians to come to your home. There is a very reasonable charge for the visit and labor. As a nice finishing touch, Destiny contacted me afterward to make sure everything had gone well and that I was satisfied. Kudos to her for providing outstanding customer service! read more

But even still, there will never be enough positive reviews in the world to justify how amazing this company and its staff are. I have multiple life threatening illnesses and Alarm Relay Dispatchers have literally saved my life countless times over the course of however many years I've been with them. I honestly don't even know how many years I've been with them, but they have followed me from address to address over the years. I couldn't trust them enough with my life. I would give anything to meet the staff who continue to be my life savers( literally), and meet the owner himself, just so I can give them all hugs and thank them, in person, for always being there and saving my life countless times. What a breath of fresh air!!! A company that does thing INCREDIBLY WELL, I have been a customer for well over 10 years, very time I reach out to this company, it's not for an issue cause by them, but a call for help. They offer incredible technical assistance whether it be how to adjust for days light savings time or a malfunction in my system. Oh by the way a system they DID NOT provide or install. The call back response time for that assistance is no joke, one time I had trouble and the technician called me back in less the 5 minutes apologizing for the background noise, he was at his child's birthday party! The 2 or 3 times I mistakenly tripped the alarm, they responded almost as fast as it took me to deactivate it, mind boggling. And the office staff.....always cheerful, sincere and helpful. In true California style, they have a very artful ability to walk the line of professionalism and friendliness. If you don't believe me ask for my new found friend Andrea and you'll see how right I am. OH and last but of course not least their rates.......my annual bill has only gone up minimally, whereas my crummy cable bill has almost doubled. First, setting up the system was relatively easy if you're someone who like to DIY. It isn't difficult at all, but if you need help Alarm Relay's team of technicians will patiently walk you through the steps. They even helped me set up the system to incorporate some sensors from the wired system we had previously, saving me money and time. Once set up, they make sure everything is working properly and signaling their monitoring station. While setting up the system I often set off an alarm unintentionally, and each time I received a call from the monitoring people within 30 seconds! Although I have 2 professionally installed hardwired systems in my home, that apparently wasn't enough...The systems are 25 years old and working flawlessly...But, they had been connected to "landlines" which I had removed 10 years ago. I eliminated my land line which monitored my home alarm saving me $25 per month and switched to Alula BAT-V communicator which uses wifi with cell backup. Alarm Relay does not do service calls, but walked me thru the conversion over the phone in under an hour. Should you need on site service they can provide it via a locally affliated contractor. All went well and alarm is fully functional including the monitoring service which has a convenient cell phone app to remotely monitor and operate the alarm when not at home. Good response and value. Worst company to deal with. Save your self the trouble and go with a big company like adt. Never again. Monitor kept saying low battery we change the battery and it's still kept saying low battery. They sent me a nech with the cameras with the technician inspected the battery and change one of the battery on the sensor and they charge me over $200 read more

Recently upgraded my 30 year old alarm system with all new equipment and added 8 more zones.The guys at Alarm relay said I could do it myself. The wiring/panel/extender was the easy part. Programming was the hard part. For $59.00 Noah was on the phone with me for over 2 hours in the afternoon getting the entire system dialed in once I had installed the equipment that morning. At the end of the day I had a new alarm system that works as intended.We had a little trouble with the smoke detectors and one keypad,but Noah Rayes stuck with it and calmly figured it out. I am a do it yourself kinda guy. I've paid for people to wire up a house electric and alarm, and even paid some to fix my cars. I always end up having to fix their oversights or mistakes. I have been with Alarm Relay(Watchlight) for over 23 years!!! 3 different houses. I had this house built and did the wiring myself. I used a newer generation IQ Panel 2 to integrate the barn and house and automate a lot of items in the two. Previous panels were DSC and Honeywell. Between the two buildings I have five garage doors. I used Liftmaster units that have MyQ built in and interface with the IQ panel and alarm.com. They worked great for a long time and then I updated the network from and Eero Mesh to an Ubiquiti. Even with no security I could not get Liftmaster to connect back to the network. Sent the Ubiquiti back and have a newer 6+ Mesh Network. When I got Liftmaster back online now I could operate my doors with the app but not the hardwired panels. I emailed the support team and worked with Ken. We emailed back and forth quite a few times without setting up a time. I appreciate that. We were simply trying things. When we figured out that we needed a little help we did setup a time with a Alarm.com rep to be on the phone. It was determined that my panel needed a little newer firmware because of the new tech. Ken pushed out the firmware after getting the nod from Alarm.com and it's back to working perfectly. Out of all these years I have needed support twice and they have been excellent both times. If you don't mind putting in a little elbow grease, you can have a bank grade alarm system and excellent support and instant monitoring for a lot less. I recommend Alarm Relay/Watchlight. read more

The absolute worst experience The absolute worst experience. Was told system worked with VOIP, MagicJack in particular. So I order An MJ for no other purpose. System is not set up completely after the first install call. Rescheduled for ten (!) days later. Upon second try we get the sustem to work - but no. Told by technician that VOIP was too unreliable and it did not work. Spoke to manager who suggested I pay 50% more monthly and additonally purchase equipment costing $190.
