When my key failed and left me stranded at Target, the owner was incredibly kind and even offered to send someone to pick me up. They also quickly arranged to make another key for me the very next day at my home. The customer care has been exceptional. My frustration is **strictly with the quality and reliability of the replacement key fobs**. Around December, I received a generic Mercedes key fob without the logo, which was completely fine with me. However, the center piece repeatedly falls off, and the key itself has intermittently failed, requiring me to carry my original Mercedes key as a backup. I had planned to replace the car soon, so initially I didn't want to make an issue of it. However, I'm keeping the car longer than expected, and the recurring key problems have become genuinely frustrating--especially because the same center piece continues to fall off. **I don't want to complain or ask for yet another replacement. My concern is simply understanding why these replacement fobs seem to have both a reliability issue and a recurring problem with the center piece falling off.** The customer service is truly wonderful; I just wish the product quality matched it.

Saul did a really great job installing a Eufy S4 Max NVR system, replacing a 10-year old PoE…read moresecurity camera system. Saul was able to use the existing PoE cables and he ran new Ethernet Cat6 cables behind the drywall and between the ceiling joists for new camera locations. Note that you may need to get a drywalling company (e.g www.omegadrywallsd.com) to fix all the drywall holes if you want a professional finish or you can get a drywall repair kit and do it yourself. Saul had installed multiple Eufy systems before and he knew how to set up and configure the NVR via the mobile app which was helpful and saved a lot of time. We also installed a remote RF HDMI link and an active 15ft USB cable RF mouse extender to the NVR to allow us to see and control all the cameras feeds at once on a big screen TV, as well as on the mobile app. Saul contacted Eufy to make sure we installed the correct active USB extender, as the Eufy NVR USB port is low power and doesn't support long USB cables or Windows drivers. Lastly, we installed a WiFi interface module to the NVR to connect some portable indoor WiFi cameras for locations where PoE wiring wasn't an option. You should budget a couple hours to install and set up the Eufy NVR system plus at least an hour for each new camera install and the associated PoE cable going behind the drywall, so potentially $750-$1500 for system installation, depending on how much work is required. Saul was quick at installing all the hardware, but it's a lot of work and worth every penny to get it done right !

He took the time to talk through the different placement options for the cameras. He showed me what I would see through the Ring app before he attached each camera to the wall. He tested everything before he left. Saul is also just a nice guy. Not required but always preferred. He'll be back to setup my Smart Lock. NOTE: Because I didn't want to depend on batteries, I needed to have the cords run down the wall. Try to picture how the cameras would look with no wire.

Note: AlarmRelay and Watchlight are the same company. All references to Watchlight are interchangeable with AlarmRelay in my report below. I called their toll free number: (800) 624-6866 today. The representative lied to me about having a Back up station. The conversation went like this (I just made the call about 10 minutes ago, so things are very fresh in memory, and I have no reason to lie): ---- Me: My friend said your company has just the one Monitoring Station in El Cajon. Right? Rep: No. We do have a backup station in Denver, Colorado. Me: Oh, I'm surprised. My friend said you just have a main station, which I'd expect if you're only asking 10 dollars per month. I would like the address of your Backup Station in Colorado. Rep: I do not have that information in front of me. Me: Why wouldn't you? It seems like a reasonable question. I just want to verify your backup station. Rep: I can put you on hold and find out. Me: Wonderful, thank you. On hold for about 5 minutes Rep: Sorry for the wait. So we have a program that provides Disaster Software. Me: What's the company name? Rep: Dice. It's their Disaster Software Program. Me: And where are they located? Rep: Michigan. Me: What happened to Denver, Colorado? Rep: I made a mistake. Me: Okay, so this software, What does it do? Rep: It backs up the computer system that we have here (at the main station). So all the information we have about you. Me: So it's software that holds information like my family's phone numbers, who to call in an emergency? Rep: Yes. Me: But what happens if your main station goes down, like in an Earthquake? Rep: They send us all the information of all our customers. Me: But what if you have to evacuate the building? Rep: (silent) Me: I thought you meant you had a seperate station where there are actual people who would get the signal from my Security System, for example I push the Medical Button, and those people call my local dispatch center to dispatch Ambulance. Rep: No. It doesn't. Me: Well we got off track here. In the beginning I didn't expect to pay only 10 dollars a month to have a main station backed up by a backup station. It surprised me when you said you had one. I expect to get what I pay for. Thank you for your time. Rep: Sorry about the mix-up. I have been an Alarm Relay monitoring client for over 15 years and have always been impressed with their response times to alarm triggers. They are much quicker to respond than my first monitoring company, ADT (back when I first moved in, anyway.). Their reps are always courteous, patient, and cooperative. So when my old hardwired security system's keypad went up in 2017, I decided to look into my options to upgrade to a new hybrid wired/wireless system. Alarm Relay offered a solution for a hybrid system that was reasonably priced and they walked me through the installation. As I said, their people are patient. I am not an engineer, but didn't need to be to install this upgrade with their help. Installation went well, and we got up and running within a couple of hours. Unfortunately, we started getting several, what appeared to be, hardwired sensor false alarms over the next several months. Alarm Relay techs walked me through some troubleshooting, but nothing seemed to help. So, after almost a year, I decided to replace all the hardwired sensors for wireless. Here is where Alarm Relay customer service shown brightly. Rather than just sell me the new equipment, my contact, Danielle, setup another troubleshooting session (waived the tech support fee) to ensure we had tried everything with the old setup. After running remote diagnostics on my equipment, and finding no problems, Alarm Relay decided to still replace my translator board and control unit just to be sure. They did this within a week of warranty expiration! My experience has been that most companies would have done just the opposite! So I've received and installed the new equipment with free programming support from Alarm Relay. It is difficult to express how much I appreciate the Alarm Relay team's efforts to ensure my satisfaction! It's only been a week since the replacement system was installed, and we've not had any false alarms yet, but more importantly, I know I can count on Alarm Relay to continue to provide great monitoring and customer support. I HIGHLY recommend Alarm Relay for your security monitoring and equipment needs! read more

I have had ADT, Alarm Force, and Complete Protect at various times over the past 20years. I was never happy with any of them. Over priced and underserved by all until I chose Alarm Relay. I have received no incentives for this review! Camber is the person you will most likely get if you call in for questions. Prepare yourself! She will answer every question efficiently and accurately. Not to mention she is polite and friendly. A rarity in today's world. She helped me by having a tech call and evaluate my current hard wired system. The cost was cheaper than Guardian's eval but still too much for what I wanted to do. I wanted a system with glass breakage, motion sensors, and later smoke and heat detectors. Had to call her back on the last one to make sure I ordered the right one from Amazon to match my new Honeywell System which installed myself. At each level of expansion, I made appointments with their tech people who are equally awesome. You can't buy a home delivered pizza for less than they charged me for three full hour sessions. They were polite and actually will make a non tech senior citizen feel that they are not personally competent. Additionally, I have an app that controls everything so I can arm and disarm anywhere. All my kids have access too. I might add that monitoring cost is dirt cheap. About 2/3 less than anyone else and there is no long term contract. Prior to going with them I looked at Simply Safe, IHome, Frontgate, Guardian, and others. I spent almost two weeks doing research. In my book they are the best! read more

Built our house last century (1995) and had the alarm system installed when we built. For the first few years used the installers recommended local monitoring service @ about $30.00 a month. Found & switched to Alarm relay about 15 (or so) years ago. My first encounter with their service department was a few years ago when I replaced the controlled unit (and added another at another entrance). Did all of the programming over the phone with minimal effort. Recently decided to change internet/VOIP phone providers. Called Alarm Relay to advise change of phone service and decided to switch to cell monitoring at same time. The unit arrived quickly (and included a free mini screwdriver for installation). Installed the unit myself and set an appointment with service for phone support to re-program the system. Got a call from tech named Oscar, right on time. He was right on top of the system and stepped me through the set up, wire by wire, easily (thanks for your patience), and got the instructions to download the smartphone app to control the system remotely.Ran through the system tests with no problem and am good to go. Went on the website (out of curiosity) and began reading reviews... a bit shocking to see some of the "less than perfect" reviews based on my experience with the company, but did pick up on the idea that I might need a new control box. Based on previous history with the company, I'm expecting that to be another "5 star" experience. read more

Great service provided by the Alarm Relay Team! I upgraded my alarm panel to add zones and reconfigure the zone assignments and names. I sent an e-mail to Customer Service on Friday morning with the revised information. I didn't expect to see / hear anything back until after the long holiday weekend. Less than 15 minutes after I sent the request I received an e-mail reply letting me know the work was complete. Wow! Amazing customer service. Saturday, I called and placed the system in test. I explained to Brittany that I wanted to test each zone and verify that what Alarm Relay received is what was intended. Brittany clearly understood what I was doing and offered to send me the log. Again, Wow! I had expected to go through my testing with someone on the phone as they looked at their screen. Finally, I placed the system in test for one hour. My testing took longer. A member of the Alarm Relay team phoned me and said the system had been in test mode, but it had expired, an alarm was received, and they wanted to verify status. I was asked for my credentials and the operator offered to place the system in test mode again. So often today I find companies have lost touch with their customers. I normally don't perform online reviews, but I felt obligated after having such a seamless time dealing with Alarm Relay. This is my second time using them, the first time being several years ago after purchasing brand new hardware for a new home - this go-round, I'm in an older house and had to take over an existing hybrid security system (NVX and Honeywell). I primarily worked with Jenny Vargas in determining if my hardware would work, and if not, what additional pieces of hardware I needed. She was top notch throughout the entire process. Also, the technician who worked with me during the initial setup was on top of his game (I don't recall his name). He was very knowledgeable in walking me though the wiring process as well as the NVX keypad setup. I don't think it could've went any smoother. I have no affiliation with this company or any of the people involved in helping get this setup for me - Lately I've had some bad experiences with other service providers and felt the need to give credit where it's due. Note that I haven't had a chance to determine the quality of service this time around (although they were great during my first experience), as I've just setup my system within the last few days. Exceptional service, responsive staff, Alarm Relay provides better options compared to any other alarm company for a fraction of monthly/ yearly cost. Compatible with state of the art technology which gives the options of literally bringing alarm control and more... to your phone. This five star rating after I almost go into an argument with one of the employees, the response however after that call was so overwhelming that forced me to write this review. Two managers, one from operations other from customer service, after I asked the same employee to called me back to apologize. They left messages with apologies, gave their precise availability to resolve the situation, worked late night to accommodate my schedule. One person from upper management followed up with another apology and expressed her strong commitment to improving the process and training the employee. This is like a company that is in business for a 100 years and wants to remain in business for next 100 years. The whole team showed their main concern is customer satisfaction and asset are their customers. I can not express more praise for the group of individuals i spoke to.... hats off to the entire team across the board! read more

I waited about 6+ months before I gave and update review since we contracted Alarm Relay. My friend has been using them for over a year (husband is a cop) as well as her family was using them prior to that. For the price of what we once paid for just 3 months of ADT services, they monitor our alarm for the entire year and we paid upfront so its been nice not to see a bill. UNLIKE ADT...as soon as my alarm trips even accidentally Alarm Relay calls us almost immediately. ADT only called if the alarm sounded off for a whole minute. Too much can happen in one minute. Alarm Relay has been very service oriented. Recently our battery was running low and while they could have sent someone to charge us to install a new one, they suggested we purchase one for less online. Until we received it, they received many "low battery" signals. They always called. They have worked for their money 3x over already. There is no comparison. They have much better customer serice than ADT. ADT is over priced and we had them for a good 10 years. Money down the drain. We didnt have installation by Alarm Relay since our we paid big bucks to ADT to do that. So it was simple over the phone to start the service. read more

The AlarmRelay team have been brilliant from start to finish. I spent quite some time researching alarm monitoring companies and finally settled on AlarmRelay given their very competitive pricing and I liked the fact the company is veteran run. My experience in getting set up with AlarmRelay left me with no doubt I made the right decision! An incredibly helpful sales rep, Destiny, took my call and talked me through the service levels and cost - it was all very clear and transparent. I had a call scheduled with a technician within the next 48 hours to talk me through the system set up, testing and activation. In the meantime, Destiny sent me all the information by email which was exactly as discussed in the call and easy to understand. The technician, Ken, got me set up swiftly and was able to answer all my questions. I recontacted AlarmRelay with some questions on automation set up and both Ken and Destiny immediately saw to these, with Ken following up with a call the next day to check everything was working as I wanted (garage door and smart switches etc.). I can't recommend highly enough. Excellent service and I anticipate being a loyal customer for years to come! read more

I have been with Alarm Relay for the past 10+ years. I receive 24/7 monitoring and I also subscribe to virtual tech support. Over there years, whether it is customer service or tech support or the central monitoring station, the service I get is exemplary. The calls go through without too much delay and they all are answered by a live person talking calls from their headquarters in CA. Any issue is handled quickly and completely by the person and there is no "passing the ball". The tech support is never in a hurry and they ensure that all issues are addressed in its entirety. If there is the need for a follow-up, an appointment is made and the assigned person calls promptly. With such a global outstanding service and care provided by one and all, it is hard to provide a single person's name! However, most recently (Jul 28, 2022), I was helped by Erika Pereda, who as always was helpful, warm, courteous and knowledgeable. I have made a few referrals to some of my close friends and family- who all are happy customers. Last but not least, the yearly charges for the monitoring that I receive, is a meager fraction of what comparable companies charge. read more

I recently switched to alarm relay after being robbed by ADT. Alarm relay offers the same technical support and caliber of alarm monitoring as ADT and protection one, both services I have had before. I would recommend this service to anyone that has a security system and is paying more then $8.95 a month. Granted, I upgraded my service to cell monitoring that does not require a phone line, for only $19.95 a month. Tell me what alarm company will give you 24 hour cellular monitoring for under $20 a month, no phone line required. I have this in my home, my business, my mothers home, as well as my brothers. I would recommend this to anyone who has a security system. You just call the company and see what your options are. Their customer service is spectacular, best I've ever experienced. Have you ever called another alarm company and had to go through the phone automation tutorials and get through only to find you are speaking to an incorrect department only to be transferred? If you call alarm relay, you will get a live person to transfer you to the correct personnel to resolve your issue. I would recommend this company to anyone who has an alarm system. read more

I just signed up with Alarm Relay for monitoring services. Very prompt, informative and courteous replies and service via e-mail and phone. $ 8.95/mo payable annually plus $ 35 setup fee the first. They informed me up front that the second year the monthly fee goes up $ 1 and then the third year 50 cents. I researched and decided on Alarm Relay after ADT sent me another increase notice - this year, 9%, coming to over $ 46 a month! When I called ADT to cancel and told them after a 9% increase this year and a 7% increase the previous year, it was ridiculous the cost. They then offered to waive this year's and last year's increase and bring it down to the previous $ 35.99 month. Well, if as their e-mail stated they had to raise fees to cover their costs, but now since I want to cancel, they'll reduce those costs, it just tells me they have been overcharging me. Also, as soon as I signed up with Alarm Relay, they sent me info and a copy of the alarm permit registration application for my county, which is required, including to ensure response, that I never knew about before and ADT, who installed my system never told me about! read more

I have been using this company for at least 5 years. Previously I was under contract with a well-known alarm servicing company and I just wanted to see what else was out there (and pay less). I saw good reviews for this company and went for it. I have never regretted it. Some years there are no issues and life goes on. This year I had an issue. My panel was displaying an error signal. I reported this to the main #. Within about an hour, "Tony" had called me back to walk me through some troubleshooting. I am not very tech-savvy but he explained everything to me in a manner that was simple and easy to follow. Along the way Tony gave me some good advice about upgrades I could make to my system pretty easily. Within just a short while I was up and running again. As an added bonus, during the connection test, he realized my siren was not functioning and did troubleshooting on that also (and I realized it had been disconnected for a long time!) I have a DMP XT30 system that was installed when the home was built. I used a local company for the monitoring and I felt like I was paying too much for the monitoring. I could not find many alternatives that supported my system. AlarmRelay was able to setup my system in about 10 minutes over the phone (once I got the lockout code from the previous company). We use cellular monitoring which is higher than the $8.95 landline monitoring, but it will save us about $150 to $200 a year compared to what we were paying. The trade off is that a local company could service the system if needed, but I don't mind doing it myself and saving the money. So far I'm very pleased with the customer service and the tech support. The one year contract is great and much shorter than the normal contract length in the industry. The year is paid in full once the service is activated and they do allow you to cancel at anytime. However, they do not refund any unused months. That part I don't like, but at least I'm aware of it before I signed up. read more

We have trusted Alarm Relay with the monitoring of our home security system since it was installed in 2013. The Customer Service has been excellent. They have always responded quickly to every question or request that we have made. They notified us that our phone carrier was making upgrade improvements that would effect our system's communication, and that our communicator module would need to be upgraded as well. I reviewed this with our local Tech and scheduled him to be here for the installation and testing. I purchased the module at a very good price and it arrived within a few days. Alarm Relay's Tech was made available to assist with the installation and testing. I was told that I could do this swap out with their Tech walking me through step by step, but I chose to have my Tech here. Everything went smoothly and the job completed quickly. I've used Alarm Relay for years, but I had an antiquated system (purchased through another alarm provider.) I recently realized that sensors needed to be replaced, which then led to having to get all new devices that could communicate with each other throughout the home. This resulted in multiple service calls with support for installation. I was lucky enough to have the same technician supporting me for several hours worth of phone call support. Chris was incredibly patient and helpful throughout each step of the process. I couldn't have asked for someone more kind or friendly. By the end of our interactions, over a period of many weeks, it felt as if Chris became a friend. I've just started with AlarmRelay.com, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the EXCELLENT customer service that I received in setting up my alarm. I didn't want to have a phone line installed at my house just for alarm service, which really reduced the number of monitoring options that I had at a reasonable price. I talked to AlarmRelay.com and they had a solution that would work for me. I can't say enough about how great it was working with Christin to get my alarm set up. She was very patient and pleasant in walking me through the steps and explaining what she was doing. Christin made me feel that she would spend as much time as needed to get everything set up and answer my questions. The rest of the people that I worked with at Alarm Relay also provided excellent customer service. Today, it is very difficult to find a company that provides that level of service. I have been with Alarm Relay for 2 years. In that time I have upgraded my alarm main panel for internet monitoring, then later upgraded our 3 alarm key pads and added 2 remote key fobs, and lastly just added 3 glass breakage detectors. Each time I scheduled an appointment for Alarm Relay Tech help. Each time the tech would call and assist with remote programming. Techs are absolutely the best and know their stuff. Recently I needed help with one of the glass breakage detectors and was working with the manager Aszia Williams - another amazing person, resolved the problem quickly - had the zone removed and transferred me to sales to order a new unit . The best part is all this amazing tech support is included with our low monthly alarm monitoring service. Alarm relay is our 5th alarm monitoring company over the last 22 years and by far the best in customer service. Keep up the great work. read more

The problem started when Ameritechs installed 10 cameras on my home camera system and did not…read morerecord the passwords or give them to me. I don't know anything about cameras and passwords so I didn't know to ask. When it came time to change the NVR, I was told they don't have the passwords and will charge me $750 to retrieve them from the cameras. I shouldn't have to pay for something they should have provided in the first place. Chris came over for $50 and examined the cameras, the analog ones that needed to be replaced, and suggested a new NVR. I got an estimate for $3030 to replace 3 cameras and the NVR and reconnect existing cameras to NVR. Without NVR it was $2130. There were no details about specs for the cameras or NVR. That's like sending a customer an invoice for $30,000 for "a car." People generally want a little more detail about what they're getting. I asked that they first just come out to retrieve the passwords for the 10 cameras, fix camera #7 that stopped working, and fix a screw that their tech stripped when he installed that camera. They said they wanted $750 to retrieve the passwords. They also wanted to charge $129 for someone to come out again and look at the cameras again, when I just paid $50 for Chris to look at them. And I maintain that I should not have to pay for something that they should have provided to begin with. I asked how many TB was in the Uniview NVR as the estimate didn't specify. The first time I was told it "supported storage" of 16TB to 32TB. Next email said the NVR comes pre-installed with 4TB storage. Next email said the NVR on the estimate does not come with any storage - they planned to reuse the old hard drives from my existing NVR - but no one ever asked me about that. Those drives were at least 5 years old and at end of life. If I wanted new hard drives, it would be an extra charge. I asked if cameras were 4K (the estimate only says 4MP). Finally, was told they would be 2K at $140 each. I asked about the warranty for the equipment. They said it's manufacturer warranty, not theirs, but didn't know and never said what it was. Isn't that something that every buyer wants to know? What is the warranty! Next estimate added $200 to reset the camera #7 that was not working, plus $750 to reset the other 10 cameras so I would have the passwords plus the $3030 for 3 new cameras and NVR - so $4624. And that probably didn't include any hard drive for the NVR as they were going to reuse my old ones. I got a lot of other confusing emails from Kanani interjecting things we never discussed like suddenly asking me if I wanted a hybrid DVR. I don't need a hybrid DVR. Then Kanani thought I wanted Uniview cameras. I never said that. Every time I asked a question, I got a different answer. Every time, the price got higher or didn't include some component that would be extra. I had another company come out to try and reset the camera passwords. He said that brand of camera TVT (Shenzhen TVT Digital Technology Co., Ltd) is difficult and takes 45 minutes to reset the password for each camera and get it onto the Avalonix XVR (which is why Ameritechs didn't want to do it either). He said it would be cheaper to replace the cameras with new 8K cameras. So, the 10 cameras that I just paid Ameritechs $4,439 to install in the past two years are now worthless. That doesn't seem like good customer service. I feel I was taken advantage of - I'm a senior citizen now and a woman alone and always a target to be ripped off because I don't know what I don't know. I think we might end up in small claims court because I really got screwed over. I don't have energy for it but some things you can't let stand.

Also, Keith takes care of any paperwork that needs to be filed with the city, so you don't have to deal with that hassle. A minor complaint is that the installation process didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. The first installation took 3 and a half hours, and the technician seemed to struggle with the system. The technician had to come back a second time in order to complete the programming of the system (if I recall correctly, there was an issue with programming one of our doors), which was not the most convenient thing for us. Fortunately, the second visit took a lot less time. But I do think that Alarm2000 technicians could use a little more customer service training especially in showing the owners how to better use the system rather than just handing them an instructional CD. Overall, my husband and I were pleased with the purchase and installation through Alarm2000 and we have not had any issues with the monitoring company to date.
