Excellent customer service, friendly employees, and they almost always run on time. I have flown many airlines whose tickets are pricier than theirs, only to deal with surly and unfriendly airline attendants and substandard service. Alaska Airlines is the literal worst. Because Idaho is a remote wilderness with no better options, I have to use it to come home from school and in a flight that should be a simple straight hour and 15 minutes I have had alarmingly low rates of satisfaction. I would like to know how an entire airline can be so aggravating so consistently. While I'm on here and angry that I have no clothes and Alaska's baggage service is not answering my phone calls, I would also like to give Spokane's airport staff a shoutout for being lazy and angry. Unless you in good health and work out every day you can fly Alaska Airlines, if you need help walking long distances do not fly Alaska Airlines. I flew in Alaska Airlines from Boise to Kona Hawaii connecting in Portland on 30 January 2018 (SkyWest 3337 to Portland from Portland Alaska 855) and flew back on Alaska Airlines on 8 February 2018 (Kona Alaska 848 to Portland from Portland to Boise SkyWest 3437). The experience was awful, besides the fact that you have to walk it seems like almost a mile or more from the terminal building to the air plane on the tarmac, a person needs to be a good shape to handle the long walk because they do not make any effort to help get you to the plane. By the time I reached the plane my legs were hurting so bad I thought I could not make up the stairs, but they do not care. The crew and staff on the ground did not even blink they were like statues standing there as people huff and puff trying to make it up the stairs on to the plane. On the return trip from Kona Hawaii it was awful no organization in paging or boarding it was a hassle and again no one offers to help any passengers needing assistance getting to the air plane on the tarmac. We had connecting flights because we were flying from Boise to Portland to Kona. I had the same problem walking a long distance from the building to the air plane and on the return trip we sat in the airplane for more than an hour because the computer system needed to be rebutted. Finally the computer was rebutted and the pilot apologized several times for the delay and we made it to Boise. Overall Alaska Airlines personnel needs more training in customer service in a professional manner. I did not know that I would have to do so much walking to reach the plane parked at the tarmac with no help and they could see I was having problem walking. I have flown with other airlines where the staff is more sensitive to the customers which may need help and they do not have to ask the staff which is sensitive enough to come and try to help. I am done flying with Alaska Airlines they should try to improve their service and practice a little more professional communication and presence. read more

Purchased four round trip tickets. One leg of our flight home had a scared and howling cat. Fortunately the cat calmed down. The next leg had an unhappy, yipping, whining, barking dog. The irresponsible owners did not quiet the dog down. The non-stop dog noise continued the entire time we sat on plane to leave (over thirty minutes) and continued until the last fifteen minutes of the flight. Naps were planned but impossible. I emailed Alaska and they auto responded they had received the email and would respond within seven days. Have heard zero response and it was close to three weeks ago. The issue is not the animals fault. We paid a tidy sum for our flights and Alaska should follow their own policy concerning passengers and their traveling animals so that all passengers are respected. They should also respect passengers enough to respond and communicate. We will choose an airline that does care about their customers for future travel. read more

I never fly Alaska, and now I never will..I wanted a direct flight from Boise to Seattle so they were my only option, Monday the 29th, I am scheduled to leave at 1:15, but I get a notification around noon that my flight has been canceled, call to reschedule, and then my only other option was a 6pm flight through Portland at 6pm THE NEXT DAY, so that delays my vacation by a day and a half. Tuesday the 30th comes around, I arrive at the airport late, but more than 30 minutes before my flight is scheduled to depart, and I am told by the agent that even though I am checked in, and have paid my baggage fee, that I am too late to check my bag, and I could have my ride come pick it up & get on the plane without it (a vacation with no clothes, that sounds fun) and they didn't have any other flights for me until Wednesday.... needless to say, I am NOT going to Seattle on vacation. ..the only good thing about dealing with this airline is that the people on the phone were very responsive, but I will be waiting for my refund before I say any more good things about them... read more

Poor customer service at the ticket counter, and did not stay with a passenger needing assistance at boarding. Very disappointing.

This is by far the worst airline I have ever flown on. I have had to wait for hours countless times for planes that are delayed or are having maintenance issues. I am currently writing this review after I had a two hour delay with Alaska. I usually don't have troubles with Alaska at other locations but be warned, if you are flying with Alaska from the boise airport expect at least an hour delay. read more

Alaska Air is great IF you are in the air and not going through Seattle, but when you are delayed, don't expect the truth about WHY your flight is delayed or cancelled or WHEN you will actually be departing. They will tell you either your delay is (1) weather related--even as other airlines are getting their planes off as scheduled, or (2) there is a "mechanical problem" (this one is great, because they can make up ANYTHING to make you feel "relieved" the flight didn't actually take off with a problem-- and you cannot confirm it). The truth is probably that the crew "timed out" (while waiting for the same flight YOU can't "time out" on...), or your plane was rerouted some place where it could bring in more revenue. (like adding extra flights between Portland and SEA for business travellers). Meanwhile they will keep piling on delays in increments of 30-45 minute to keep you forever stuck in the gate area and unable to rebook on another flight.. This has occurred 4 of 4 times to my family recently on 4 DIFFERENT days that include a SEA segment.. read more
