Kudos to Megan S. for excellent service! When traveling, the hubby and I found that we have consistently received good service from Enterprise. Nay to low budget rental companies. Awesome that their rental counter is located in baggage claim. No need for shuttles or trams to an offsite location. We were greeted by Megan and she found our reservation. For our brief stay in Boise, we got a nice Hyundai Sonata. We did the option to return the vehicle with a full tank and it was very, very inexpensive to fill it at $3.15 a gallon! There is currently construction going on around the structure where the vehicles enter and exit but, all was fine. When we returned the vehicle Megan was actually outside in the lot to assist us with the return. She is enthusiastic and helpful. Just awesome. Would definitely go with Enterprise again. 4 stars! read more

We did a 24hr rental and returned it to pick up a 1way. Everything on the 1st rental went well. Hopped off the plane, -5min walk to the desk. We had checked in online to avoid the hoopla & usually, with that, it's skip the desk just keys and go. Here, the desk is where you do everything, so, regular line & we were asked the same check in questions again (fuell, insurance and one more push for upgrade). The process was still quick & painless. The exit to pick up the cars was different- it felt like you were using an employee exit. The lot is a standard parking lot, accessible by anyone (no strips/ gate & there's construction going on. Return is the same. We dropped off & went directly inside to pick up a 1way rental to Spokane, d/t a flight issue. This was a close in rental, so, no option to check in online. This didn't really impact checkl in - same questions, just add initials & sign... took maybe an extra minute.We waited over an hour in line. There were 2 staff working the desk and there was an angry patron on the side, demanding a manager (loudly) as well as someone doing what appeared to be a long term rental. Those 2 clients took quite some time. Staff remained friendly throughout & were apologetic for the long wait. We initially rented a car in San Fran but had issues (check engine light came on and we could not get the gas cap off) so we contacted the closest Enterprise location (Monterey) to get a replacement. However they could not assist so we had to drive to San Jose to get a replacement which was 4.5 hours total out of our day to do this. At that time we were told we would not be charged for not refilling the car as no one could get the gas cap off. When we left with our replacement rental in San Jose there was confusion on when the car would be returned and where. We explained what our original agreement was contracted for (# of days and drop off location which was Boise ID) and felt everyone was on the same page and went on our way. When we returned the new car, it was several days later in Boise (which is what we had planned to do the whole time). When Carlos (at the Boise location) checked his records we were being charged for the fuel in the previous car and extra days because the prior location did not document what they told us they would. Carlos graciously agreed (and actually is the one who offered) to make it right by crediting our account. He was amazing and he is the reason we will absolutely rent from Enterprise again! I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Enterprise Rent-A-Center. This location seems to have a pattern of blaming customers for damage they claim they "couldn't see" prior to return. After I returned the vehicle, I was already given a receipt showing the check-in was complete, yet shortly after my card was charged $500 for alleged damage. I requested photos of the vehicle prior to us taking it before my card was charged as the attendant who called me admittedly said the damage was difficult to see, and those photos were never provided until after the charge had already gone through. While the woman I spoke with on the phone was kind-spoken, she made no effort to work with me toward a resolution and repeatedly defaulted to policy rather than fairness or transparency. Being polite does not make the situation right. This experience felt deceptive and unethical. I was charged without proper proof or opportunity to dispute, and it ultimately feels like I was scammed out of $500. I would strongly caution others to document everything in detail and think twice before renting from this location. read more

The absolute worst customer support! I booked a car for 8 days and didn't realize the return time was 12pm. I only needed to use it for an additional 4 hours but they wanted to charge 130% more that of a full 24 hour rate. I called in thinking it was a mistake but NO way! This is SHIT customer care/support whatever you want to call it! They just lost a repeat customer for good! And I WILL share my frustration on all Social Media platforms! Boycott Enterprise! I flew into Boise and decided to rent a car. I literally rented the day before and I thought they would over charge. As soon as you get off the plane walk down stairs the car rental is right there. It was literally so easy to get to. The plain landed at 11:30 pm and they were still open. This was the fastest experience I had. The guys checking in were so fast and efficient. They explained everything and it was like a 3 minute process. I was beyond impressed. I rented a small car from Thursday night to Sunday at 2:30pm for $145. The Damage Recovery Unit, however, is useless. *Initial Review: A month after my rental, I received a bill for damage that I did not incur (multiple issues, including that the photo was from a different location than I returned the car). My contact with Damage Recovery (Tasha C.) ignored my emails and only sent automated responses. My calls were re-routed and not returned. Eventually I was banned from renting and threatened with collections when I asked for more documentation. Ultimately took 3+ months to resolve. read more

I needed a car last minute for a Funeral & Celebration Of Life in New Mexico, & I have never been. So I needed a GPS with my rental Margarita helped me so much she was amazing in dealing with all my questions. I mean I rent all the time right but unfortunately I was in a state of sadness & panic & Margarita dealt with my state so well that it was calming how she explained everything a couple of times for me to make sure I was comforted. Then even wrote the number to get to her directly if I had any other issues after taking off on a very long long long car ride from Boise that night. Then when I returned the car to Enterprise Rent-A-Car return at the Airport I was helped by Jaden first & then Trina came to assist him because I was explaining the tire's weird build-up on the rims. After all, we had been dropped in the middle of a freak extreme storm of snowfall in Provo Utah. Trina was so helpful in answering my questions along with Jaden who after explaining my very scary highway drive where the GPS unit turned off. When I pulled over to try to fix it with my sister. We got it to start up again only to have it take us 49 minutes away from our destination & then eventually told us to do a U-turn to set us on the right path. That was one of many issues I had with the GPS unit. So Jaden was quick to take the fee of the GPS rental off. I get it tech can have kinks to work out when it's a new app or whatnot still a bit scary for me though at the moment. Jaden & Trina along with Margarita made the experience for me. Because as bad as anything on my trip went it's amazing to come home & have the return of your rental be as pleasant of an experience as Enterprise makes it for you each time. At least that's my experience with Enterprise and why I always choose them whenever I need a rental wherever I am. You reserve a vehicle and the lot is full of vehicles, you ask for a change and not an option. you basically reserve a price it's pretty wild how things have changed. $60 for one hour of extra use , if you pick up at 9am and need to drop at 10am - nope! that will be $60 more. I rented a compact SUV from this location recently. I arrived around 4pm and the rental area was pretty much empty. I believe I was helped by a gentleman named Jesse. Another pateon showed up about 2 minutes after me and was promptly helped by someone else. It probably took 6 or so minutes to get my information squared away and get keys into my hand. The customer next to me still somehow finished up before me, but anything less than 10 minutes to get processed is pretty good. The car I had was great. I really didn't drive it much as I ended up carpooling for most of the week. However, it worked just fine for me and it was clean. Dropping off was eaay enough, although there are rows of cars on the lot and you pick yours up from one od these. I assumed I somehow returned it to one of these Enterprise spots. I wasn't told where I needed to return things. I saw other cars pulling into these lanes farther up the rows and then it dawned on me that I needed to do the same. I had to go around the lot a couple times to find the Enterprise return area as it wasn't in the same row as the Enterprise pick up area. Why they wouldn't put the agencies in the same row as the pickups seems odd, but it only took me an extra couple minutes to figure it out. I didn't see any strange charges on my card, so everything seems to have been easy. I would rent from this location again. read more

When you're a member of their rewards program you get coupons for free upgrades and you earn points that you can put toward free car rentals. I can usually get a car for less than $15 a day. Sometimes I get lucky and get a truck or SUV for that price when you click the "we pick you pay" option. The airport is especially convenient because they're open rather late and super early. 6am-12am. You can do a 24-hour drop-off. They don't worry about you cleaning it, they'll gladly clean it for you. The staff is always friendly here. There is no hassles and usually no wait. Some important notes-- *You may have to provide a flight itinerary if you're from out of town. **You will have to walk to the cars. It's about a 4 minute walk, but if you have a hard time walking, I want you to know this. ***Parking costs-- each day you leave your car it costs. If you can get dropped off at the last door in the arrivals port downstairs. ****You're full coverage on your car covers you. They try and make money off of you for $44 a day on insurance, but really you are already covered. Unless you like double coverage there is no point. If you only have liability then you must take this insurance to protect yourself. *****You can opt-in to pay for fuel in advance at a lower rate-- I don't do this because I usually only have to fill up 1/4 of a tank or so and not returning a car on empty. I was a PROMISED they would get them and ship them to me I called again when I landed at home and 4 more times after I called customer service I found out they trashed my items. What a horrible experience this was the lies from these people. Next I was promised a apology letter from the office manger again lies this has never came been almost a month. I will Again file another complaint about this manger and his lies. We rented our vehicle from Alamo thru Costco but this review is for Enterprise since the Alamo agent/representative wasn't there when we arrived. There was a sign to go to their partner (Enterprise) to pickup our rental. Leslie was the upbeat and pleasant gal that helped us, and she was awesome! 1st, immediately after driving off the lot the steering wheel was shaking and a warning came up saying, "malfunction, check user manual." I've never even seen that before on a vehicle. I drove it back right away, maybe 5 minutes. The attendees said to restart the vehicle, which I did, the message was gone. However after a few minutes the car said the same message and they couldn't turn off the message or stop the vibrating steering wheel. I requested a new vehicle, they asked if I was sure and that another vehicle may cost more. I assured them I was t paying more money for this type of error. They proceeded to have me wait another 30 minutes to figure out whatever they needed to get me another vehicle. The new vehicle came, smaller and older vehicle and there was trash and dirty masks in it?!?! I showed them the issue and all they did was grab it up quick and throw it away, so much for their "Complete Clean Pledge." Awful customer service and even worse product! read more

I've never felt compelled to write a review of a car rental location before, but the experience I had at the Boise, ID airport this week was so great that I'm doing it. When I picked up my car, the location was sold out of the Full Size car I had reserved, so I received a complimentary upgrade to a Cadillac. And, when I politely declined insurance (as it's my employer's policy), I was not given a hard sell on purchasing additional insurance products. Now here's the part I'm blown away by. When I was renting the car, the gentleman at the desk asked why I was in town. I told him I was in town for a meeting. When I dropped off the car the next morning, he asked me how my meeting went. The fact that he remembered who I was and why I was in town was remarkable. read more

All the steps of the rental were explained, I was asked if I needed anything as far as directions. Actually felt like they were getting to know me as a person and now chit chat with a customer. We travel and rent cars often (usually through another company). We picked up a rental car through the Boise airport location. The day after pick up, our key fob died. We could not enter or use the vehicle at that point (and for the record, the emergency"key" inside the fob had not been cut, so that was useless as well). Both my husband and I began making calls to enterprise to get another vehicle ASAP because our trip was scheduled to be very busy. First off, actually getting a live person on the phone to help was difficult (thank goodness we were not broke down in an unsafe area). And once we explained the situation, we were told by their roadside assistance personnel that we would be CHARGED for the roadside assistance! Then later, we were told by another employee that we wouldn't be. Confusing and upsetting to say the least, as we just wanted a useable vehicle. Finally, roadside assistance showed up and were able to get us inside the vehicle and back on our way to pick up another vehicle. We picked up another vehicle for the remainder of the trip. And sure enough, when we reviewed our invoice, we were charged for roadside assistance due to the key fob not working. So, once again, we had to call enterprise to get the situation straightened out. Inconvenient and frustrating to say the least. I understand things happen, but this should have been a much more streamlined process and one we were not mistakenly charged for. read more

We rented a van so we could take the whole family to my in-laws and that was good. But the van needed an oil change and there was garbage all over the van and the window washer fluid ran out. We had to stop on the way back to wash the windows and so we were a half hour late returning it, so they charged us an extra day - though they have refunded the extra day ** so that part is great. However, on the original receipt they had extra charges that they can't even explain. Customer facility charge of $6.00/day and 11.10 percent concession recovery fee. Both of these are outrageous!! Another week another rental car place. I can't give rental car places more than two stars, unless they really go out of their way with service, and frankly, I haven't experienced anything to differentiate the national chains in over 10 years of travel for work. Here is one ridiculous thing I don't understand, and this happens at ALL rental car companies: what is up with keeping cars in stock that don't have automatic door locks and automatic windows and automatic side mirror settings??? I'm sure the company reply would be something like "we offer vehicles in all price points for all our customers". Whatevs! Get rid of the manual cranks. It is not 1970. I think the Koreans have that technology now, if not then surely the patent is up so go ahead and copy. How is one supposed to reach the passenger side mirror to adjust it unless you have a wingspan of a pterodactyl? And when you want to roll down the window, be sure that you are not at a stoplight. How would the person in the car next to you interpret the motion of rolling down the window? At best it would be taken as trying to flirt and at worst...well I don't want to know what kind of offers you might get. These types of autos should be as extinct as the dinosaurs. Back to the review: Enterprise is just as suitable as the rest of the big national chains. So go with the best deal you get. This time it happened to be Enterprise. read more

The actual rental process here went smoothly - our car was ready when we arrived, and it only took a minute to check it back in when we were leaving Boise. It's located on-site at the airport, so if you're flying into Boise, the place is very convenient. I agree with the previous poster, though, in the actual comfort level of the car. We had some kind of Chevrolet, and it was really uncomfortable. There are cheaper cars made that don't leave you with a backache after driving around... but it does seem like Enterprise just wants you to spend as much as possible. read more

LOVE the quick service and professionalism, even among a hefty Labor Day-weekend line at the Boise airport. The enjoyable counter experience afoot the BOI arrivals' escalator made for a great start to our adventure to Bend, OR. ...about 5 hours away from beautiful Boise. The stylish Chrysler 300 AWD made for a fun and safe drive through the scenic mountains and smooth straight-aways' on the way to the equally beautiful Bend. I'd recommend the Enterprise team to anyone who's visiting Boise and in need of a first class car, a fair deal, and a wonderful overall experience. Our flights were three hours delayed getting into Boise, and the Enterprise worker stayed for an hour and a half after his shift ended (until 1:30am) because he knew we had been delayed. We had 8am interviews and do not know how we would have managed if we hadn't been able to pick up our car. The car had a flat tire during our trip, and roadside assistance was prompt and easy to deal with. Enterprise gave us a new rental car (upgrade) and apologized for the inconvenience. The absolute last time I rent from Enterprise. They had the best rates this time, but it is so not worth it. I can deal with the constant upsell to a different car, the prepaid gas, the insurance and the reminder they will charge you your deductible automatically if there is an accident, and now unless I have a second phone number Zack tells me that he can not rent me a car even though I have used them for the past 6 years and pay with a gold Amex company card when traveling. So I give him another phone number oh wait there is more, would you like me to turn on the syrius radio for you.....Zach gives me the keys and tells me to go to f5 for the car. I go to f5, do the walk around and there is a huge dent on the bumper, so I went and grabbed the attendant. She was nice and said no problem and she noted it. Got the car loaded up and got in to start the car and the key doesn't work. What a surprise, Zach sent me to the wrong spot, yep the car was not in F4. Intentionally I am sure at this point. Went back to customer service and she said yes your car is in. A different spot. For the inconvenience she did upgrade me to a bigger car. After getting in the car I realized I left my headset in the first car, drove around to it and 3 minutes later it was already rented and gone. Goodbye headset. Other problem I consitelntly see with Enterprise is they do not know how to clean a windshield, they are filthy inside and out and this car was exactly the same Goodbye Enterprise. read more

I had made a few phone calls and Enterprise seemed to have the best overall deal. I had just flown in alone and was needing to drive to my relatives new house which I had never been. Realizing I forgot my phone, pure panic had set in. I had no phone #s, no addresses, and no directions! Christian went way above and beyond for me. He got a phone book so I could look up their #, then let me use their phone so I could get the address and he even printed out directions for me! Not happy with Hertz at the Boise Airport. The gentlemen at the counter indicated that a $200 deposit would be required for our SUV rental. Fine. What they didn't explain was that the vehicle rental feed would be added to this. This means that instead of a $269 rental, my bank statement reflects a $469 charge. Not nice! The person with whom I spoke today indicated that the $200 would be credited back to my account... eventually. All well and good, but at the end of the month, an extra $200 charge really matters. Doesn't matter if it's "standard industry practice". Make double sure your customers know what they're getting into before they get into your vehicle, Hertz! read more

First time using Enterprise and I have to say I am not impressed. I booked through Kayak with a great deal then when I go to pick up the car they're telling me I HAVE to have their insurance which DOUBLED the rate. My car insurance would have covered this but I didn't have the necessary documentation to show this so I had to get their insurance. The guy was trying to sell me the highest insurance, I asked for the lowest because I really didn't need it and he said 'well you can but it's only like $4-5 dollars a day cheaper...' okay well great, less money I am wasting dude. Then they didn't have the car I reserved and were going to downgrade me, BUT give me a 10% discount. I realized that was 10% off of my bill that was for a higher grade of vehicle wasn't a deal at all. It was the correct pricing or potentially even more for a lower grade car. And while the associate I was dealing with realized there was a higher grade car I could take this guy tried to hush her and get me to take the lower grade car, I heard it fortunately and said I didn't want this car and 10% wasn't a deal. So then he offered me the car that was a step above what I reserved. They also put a $250 hold on your card if you use a debit card so I put down a credit card with the intent of switching it to my debit card afterwards. Well when you pull into the Return Rental Car area, it's incredibly confusing. I drove around twice and finally just chose to park in a spot with an Enterprise sign above it. Well an Enterprise employee pulled up behind me yelling at me when I was getting out of the car, he was incredibly rude and told me to bring it over to the next spot in the driveway. I apologized and brought the car there which is very discrete and not an obvious 'Bring your car here to return it!'. Couldn't find anyone to help me, finally a guy came out and said sorry, scanned the car and sent me on my way. After being a little frazzled I forgot to switch my cards back. Tried calling today to put my debit card down and they responded with nope we don't do that sorry. Alright then, the only thing I liked about Enterprise was the girl that greeted me when I first came up to the desk. It wasn't a nightmare experience but I was really turned off by the insurance and the sales-iness of the guy, along with him trying to sell me a on a lower car when there was a higher one available and I can't say I will use Enterprise again. read more
