As a frequent traveler, I've flown American Airlines for years, and this Nashville-to-Charlotte…read moreroute is one I take regularly for work. The flight itself is quick--about an hour and a half--and both of my recent flights were on time and uneventful, which is always appreciated. That said, I was surprised that such a busy route is often served by a regional jet. If you're carrying a roller bag, expect to valet-check it at the aircraft because the overhead bins are too small. It's a smooth process, but something to plan for. The cabins also feel dated. There are no USB ports or power outlets, so charge your devices before boarding. On both my outbound and return flights, there was no beverage or coffee service. For a short flight that's understandable, but even a quick water service would have been a nice touch. The crews were professional, and the flights got me where I needed to go safely. I'd simply love to see American invest in newer aircraft or add a few small amenities on this route to make the experience a bit more comfortable. Until then, go in with realistic expectations, charge your phone before boarding, and enjoy the quick trip. Life is short. Get out there and travel.

There seem to be multiple "Delta Air Lines" throughout Yelp. So, If you feel that you've seen this review before, you probably have. I can't say enough good things about Delta, they always do a wonderful job getting me from here to there or... in reverse. it is an amazing airline. It has always been a great airline. Their planes are always clean when we get on. Unfortunately someone always stashes that piece of garbage and I'm usually the one who finds it. LOL. They do a great job of preparing flights from customer to customer. The attendants are always very friendly, courteous and professional. A great group of very talented and committed individuals. They should all be very proud of themselves. I have flown both economy and Delta Priority 1. BIG difference and depending on the length of the flight, it may be worth it. I recognize that there is a big price difference in the two so it's not always an easy choice. The seating is always comfortable and there is always enough legroom. (I'm 5'11"). The video screens are a good size and there is always enough entertainment choices. I'll give the snacks an ok. Nothing spectacular but OK. I definitely miss the blue chips. I definitely miss the free hi speed WiFi. If it's a long flight, you can buy and it's pretty reasonably priced. I don't mind flying, really I don't. When I do, Delta does a great job. I'm not always thrilled about being put into a tube and shot across the country sitting for 3-6 hours but when I do, Delta is a great way to go. I have been and will continue to fly 1st class or Delta One. The service is absolutely flawless and at least I can sleep for a little on a long flight. KUDOs to the team at Delta.

Unless you are on an early flight, you are likely to be delayed (I was, and was late getting home). The free bag check added about $100 value to a flight, and of course the prices have not gone down since that was taken away- prices have only gone up. In addition, seats are now assigned, and you get the customary announcements asking for folks to voluntarily check bags. If you are in a late boarding group, your bag will be gate checked. You can tell the employees don't like this, and some of the passengers were disrespectful when they had to check their bags. My last flight was booked fairly close to the date, and I ended up standby- which really meant that I didn't have an assigned seat because the plane was full. I guess they hoped folks would upgrade to first class for a 90 minute flight. My flight itself was rough. It was one of the most turbulent flights I've been on, without beverage or snack service. That's no fault of the flight crew, who were great. However, if you're on Southwest, be prepare to shell out an expensive price for a product that isn't what it used to be.

I had to walk way over to the left to drop off a bag, then back to the TSA area. Sure, the line was non-existent, but probably because nobody saw it. At the gate area, it got worse. The gate agent didn't really announce anything. He just started taking pre-boards and didn't announce other pre-boards or priority boarding/military. As an A-List preferred member, he did announce that but I had to tell him there were still others that needed to board before me. He was kind of a jerk too with his announcements. Finally, on the flight, the flight attendant put the bottles of Jack Daniels IN my ice, which meant there was barely any ice in the cup. Plus I don't know where those bottles have been. Hopefully not smuggled from Mexico. I'm not sure if it's Nashville or not, but it wasn't a good day at the airport OR on the flight with Southwest.

YMMV, since SAE's various terminals…read moredon't offer the same ammenities, but if you're willing to experience air travel that harkens to a simpler, happier period of history--climb aboard. I've flown first class on an Emirates A380 from Paris to Dubai and Shanghai. On the way, I took a shower in-flight. I've hopped aboard a CH-53 in Thailand to catch a free ride from Khorat to Utapao. On the way, we landed in the pilot's front yard to deliver a bag of fruit to his family. I'd give 5-star ratings to both of these drastically different adventures. You cannot compare Emirates first class with a Thai Air Force helicopter any more than you can compare Southern Airways Express (SAE) with Delta, United, or American Airlines. They are apples to oranges; completely different venues with their own advantages & disadvantages. You should know what to expect before booking, much less reviewing, SAE. In my case, I got exactly what I expected from SAE and more (because they didn't cancel the flight): I showed up to a Fixed Base Operation 30 minutes before my flight and parked for free. I dealt with no lines, no crowds, and no hassles. A friendly, eager pilot verified my identity while seated in a high-end lounge offering free coffee and bottled water. Fifteen minutes later we walked to the plane where I enjoyed my choice of seats as the only passenger on board. We departed early, enjoying panoramic views out all the windows, and landed early. I exited the terminal at my destination a few minutes after landing. To go from Nashville to Memphis on another commercial air carrier would mean showing at the airport one to two hours before the flight, paying to park or ride to the airport, waiting in line at the check-in counter, and suffering through TSA. With no direct flights, I get to board and deplane twice, each time hoping enough overhead space remains for my carry-on and doubling my chances for delays or cancellations. If I'm lucky, the flight attendant will be friendly. At my destination I wait my turn among the masses to exit, collect luggage, and procure transportation. Flying on SAE differs from typical commercial flights most americans are accustomed to--thank goodness. Air travel sucks today. Unless you shower on Emirates, which--if you have the means, I highly recommend!

Rather, a time when seats were comfortable, had enough space so you weren't touching your neighbor, having your legs so tight you couldn't move them. And, the flight attendants, whose primary mission is passenger and crew safety, also were pleasant, understanding, and accommodating. That was our recent flight to Cancun Mexico. In a time when airlines are trying squeeze every last penny out of fliers pockets, and airline staff jaded from years of passenger abuse, this trip (a first on Jet Blue in forever) was a welcome change. From check in to deplaning, we loved every moment of the experience. It started with a no chaos check in. We had to make a correction with our ticket which was done quickly and pleasantly. When wished a fun trip, the checkin crew meant it. Boarding the plane was similar. Quick, efficient, and none of chaos or snarky tones we've experienced with the other carriers. Once on board Jorge and the other flight attendants were warm, genuine, helpful, accommodating. Prior to the pandemic we had grown accustomed to surly flight crew who don't seem happy with their career choices. However, on this Jet Blue flight, everyone's personality was light. I'm sure they've had to deal with problematic passengers as well, but nothing had dampened their enthusiasm and spirit. Can't say much about the pilots other than we got there safely, they provided periodic updates, and seemed happy to be here too. We've flown a number of flights, domestic and international, using the big full service carriers and discounts ones. This was a trip to write home about.

However, we were unjustly denied check-in by JetBlue staff, who insisted--without any legal basis--that I needed a visa to enter the UAE. I am a U.S. citizen holding a valid American passport, and under current UAE immigration policy, U.S. passport holders are eligible for a visa on arrival and do not require a pre-arranged visa. The JetBlue staff members involved were: Supervisor: Kevin Eugene Jameila As a result of their negligence: We missed our international trip entirely. We lost our non-refundable flight tickets. I am demanding: Full reimbursement for the unused tickets and associated fees. Compensation for the financial losses caused by this error, including hotel and transportation.
