Delta First Class Review After our last Delta fiasco where the seat on our transatlantic flight had a metal hinge which caused a painful poking our legs the entire flight and a flight attendant who came unhinged because we asked for a banana (bananas are for first class passengers only - not premium economy), we decided to upgrade to First Class to see if those bananas are worth it. The below is a compilation of three flight taken as part of a single trip. What we experienced is a mix of highs and lows. On the positive side, the service can be somewhat personalized. You are offered the ability to pre-order your meal, and get special exclusive options as well. We chose the chicken salad which was tasty as was the mixed green salad. One of the exclusive menu options was the fisherman's stew which ranks as one of our top 5 in flight meals. Highly recommend even if the description does sound appetizing. Joseph, one of our flight attendants on the ATL-LAX leg was outstanding and made the journey much more enjoyable with his attentive and friendly service. Delta, like most US carriers on domestic flights offers basic amenities. While the seats are comfortable, and wide, we had row 1 bulkhead on two legs of the trip. On leg one, you could have added another lavatory in our leg room space. On the second leg, the pitch was quite cramped and you could touch the bulkhead wall from you seat. The in-flight entertainment options are very limited for movies or shows. The complimentary ear buds were on par with what you used in your Walkman back in the day. Delta now offers the ability to personalize your IFE experience, but literally there's little need given the few options. While most of the meal was great, the veggies with the chicken salad was way over salted. The soft drink and Prosecco were both flat. Overall, Delta First Class has its strengths, particularly in service and certain meal options, but there are areas that could use improvement, such as the entertainment options and beverage quality. It's economy class with wider seats. And on some flights -bananas.

I was taking a flight from Nashville to Detroit Airport and I booked a flight on Delta Airlines. I must say I had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The staff we're great. Very attentive and very pleasant. Additionally, I loved the fact that they gave you your own personal earphones to stream your favorite shows and movies. You didn't have to purchase Wi-Fi to stream. All you had to do was click your movie or show and it was ready to go. I had my snacks and watched The Food Network and I was a happy woman.

On Tuesday, I was scheduled to fly back to Toronto from Nashville through WestJet. I received the dreaded e-mail from WestJet late Monday night (five minutes before it was Tuesday) indicating that my flight was cancelled and the airline would make changes to get me to my destination. I'll skip all the gory details here. I ultimately got my new itinerary. I was on two Delta flights, with a stop in Detroit. I'd leave later and, in turn, get home later. Not horrible. However, I could not check in online. I had to do it with the help of a Delta agent on Tuesday at the airport. I got to Nashville International Airport (BNA) and found the lineup to get agent assistance. I had the nicest woman at the Delta check-in counter. She asked how I was. Not the polite version of this question where you say that you're okay and it's just basic conversation. Nope. She truly wanted to know how I was doing. So, I gave her my brief story that I'm now on two Delta flights and need her help checking in my bags and me. She was great. She found me in the system. She needed to see my proof of vaccination. Other than trying to find the most recent vaccination shot in my list of three, we were good. She asked verbally whether I had filled out my details in the ArriveCAN app. I had forgotten about it out of all things, but I still had time to fill it out and she was good with my word. I had two bags. I was upgraded on WestJet and my first bag was free. My first bag on Delta was also free. I had another bag that I decided to get (yes, I did a lot of shopping damage and I'm at peace with it) and paid the baggage fee. Although WestJet and Delta are partners, this fee doesn't transfer over. So, I paid $30 USD for my second bag. I simply needed to get a refund on my WestJet baggage fee. The credit card transaction was smooth. She made sure that both bags were tagged and moved onto the conveyor belt. She printed my boarding passes and my paid baggage receipt. She let me know that I'd be going to north security to my right. I thanked her and was happy. BNA is easy to move around. Delta gates tend to be B ones. I had to look up my gate, as I was unknown at the time of printing my boarding pass. I like that there are charging outlets at the gate waiting areas. I found one where there was a standing table and charged my phone. It was slower charging it through the USB port. It was much better when I plugged my USB cable into a portable charger, and then plugged that into the outlet. Delta boards by circumstance and section. I decided to take advantage of the boarding process for those who need extra time and boarded then. It's one of the nicer perks having a wrist splint and needing more time to click a seatbelt around my hips, among other things. I placed my backpack in the overhead and sat down. I was a row behind Comfort+. There isn't really a difference other than the headrests have a special cover and you shell out more money for your seat. You may get served snacks and a beverage faster in Comfort+, but the legroom and seats are the same as the main cabin ones. My seat was comfortable. Legroom was great. I ended up getting a small bottle of water and a package of my favourite Biscoff biscuits. Give me Biscoff and you have my unconditional love for eternity. I love them so much! The cabin crew were friendly, as were the pilots. They were attentive and genuinely happy to be on board working. The flight was on time. One of the flight attendants was kind to indicate that we were arriving at gate A29. It made me happy that I only had less than ten gates to get to the walkway that links me to concourse B. My flight was on time and I had a 55-minute layover. I knew that I was good catching my next flight headed to Toronto. I had a great flight into Detroit. Delta is growing on me the more I fly into the States. (243)

The cancellation of our flight that left us in Harrisburg pa and completely missed our trip!

I'm writing this letter to let you know how disappointed I am with the Delta Airlines and the entire staff. I planned this trip to New York in November 2023 as a Christmas present for my husband. He loves baseball so we were going to New York to watch a Yankees game at noon on June 23rd . Our flight was 1pm on June 22nd. We were on the flight and there was a storm in New York so we had to hang out in the air while it passed. Well then we were running low on fuel so the pilot stopped at Harrisburg PA to fuel up and on to New York. Harrisburg didn't have enough employees so fuel was taking a long time. At that point the pilots come over the speaker that they had timed out for the day . Everyone was taken off the plane at 4pm and not told anything else until 9 pm when they finally decided to cancel our flight. The lady at the counter yelled out that if anyone was rude or had an attitude she wouldn't help anyone( isn't that her job to help customers). Ok great our flight is cancelled, when can you get us to New York. They said we would be rebooked the next day at 11:30 am. Remember you cancelled our flight at 9pm. Our luggage did not come out at baggage claim till 11pm. We DID NOT get a hotel voucher and had to pay for a room in Harrisburg PA for 4 hours of sleep . We would totally miss what we were going to New York. We had paid for plane tickets, Yankees ticket ,hotel and we never got to New York. By the time we would get to New York it would almost be time to come back home. This is utterly disappointing. We own a small business and rarely get to go on vacation. The entire trip was ruined . We ended up on a flight back to Nashville TN the next morning at 6am. The very rare chance we get to go out of town was ruined by your airlines. We are asking compensation for money spent on the vacation we didn't get to go on, both hotel, plane tickets and the Yankees ticket, the bags taking longer than 20 mins at baggage claim and honestly just all around poor customer service and lack of communication. We normally fly Southwest but took a chance and we will not be flying delta again after this experience.

Great airlines and clean terminals. Never have had any issues in Bna with delta. Recommend them to anyone.

Dirt dirt dirt, do they clean? And this is firstclass...

Disgusting... Hair and food crumbs all over arm rest and dirt on floor, and this is firstclass. No power to charge phone, it's down and no entertainment screen and woops sorry no earbuds not even to buy. Tray table broken as well.

The flight itself is quick--about an hour and a half--and both of my recent flights were on time and uneventful, which is always appreciated. That said, I was surprised that such a busy route is often served by a regional jet. If you're carrying a roller bag, expect to valet-check it at the aircraft because the overhead bins are too small. It's a smooth process, but something to plan for. The cabins also feel dated. There are no USB ports or power outlets, so charge your devices before boarding. On both my outbound and return flights, there was no beverage or coffee service. For a short flight that's understandable, but even a quick water service would have been a nice touch. The crews were professional, and the flights got me where I needed to go safely. I'd simply love to see American invest in newer aircraft or add a few small amenities on this route to make the experience a bit more comfortable. Until then, go in with realistic expectations, charge your phone before boarding, and enjoy the quick trip. Life is short. Get out there and travel.

YMMV, since SAE's various terminals…read moredon't offer the same ammenities, but if you're willing to experience air travel that harkens to a simpler, happier period of history--climb aboard. I've flown first class on an Emirates A380 from Paris to Dubai and Shanghai. On the way, I took a shower in-flight. I've hopped aboard a CH-53 in Thailand to catch a free ride from Khorat to Utapao. On the way, we landed in the pilot's front yard to deliver a bag of fruit to his family. I'd give 5-star ratings to both of these drastically different adventures. You cannot compare Emirates first class with a Thai Air Force helicopter any more than you can compare Southern Airways Express (SAE) with Delta, United, or American Airlines. They are apples to oranges; completely different venues with their own advantages & disadvantages. You should know what to expect before booking, much less reviewing, SAE. In my case, I got exactly what I expected from SAE and more (because they didn't cancel the flight): I showed up to a Fixed Base Operation 30 minutes before my flight and parked for free. I dealt with no lines, no crowds, and no hassles. A friendly, eager pilot verified my identity while seated in a high-end lounge offering free coffee and bottled water. Fifteen minutes later we walked to the plane where I enjoyed my choice of seats as the only passenger on board. We departed early, enjoying panoramic views out all the windows, and landed early. I exited the terminal at my destination a few minutes after landing. To go from Nashville to Memphis on another commercial air carrier would mean showing at the airport one to two hours before the flight, paying to park or ride to the airport, waiting in line at the check-in counter, and suffering through TSA. With no direct flights, I get to board and deplane twice, each time hoping enough overhead space remains for my carry-on and doubling my chances for delays or cancellations. If I'm lucky, the flight attendant will be friendly. At my destination I wait my turn among the masses to exit, collect luggage, and procure transportation. Flying on SAE differs from typical commercial flights most americans are accustomed to--thank goodness. Air travel sucks today. Unless you shower on Emirates, which--if you have the means, I highly recommend!

Originally opened in 1937 as Berry Field, the airport code "BNA" is a nod to its history, while today's terminal reflects Nashville's modern growth and unmistakable Music City personality. As a frequent traveler, I find BNA easy to navigate. It's not as sprawling as airports like Charlotte or San Francisco, and getting from one gate to another is fairly straightforward. There are plenty of good local restaurants, shops, and comfortable seating areas, so grabbing a bite before your flight is part of the experience rather than an afterthought. The live music throughout the terminals is a fun touch and makes the airport feel uniquely Nashville. Between the guitars, murals, and local performers, the city puts its best foot forward. The only downside is that the music can make it difficult to find a quiet place if you're trying to take a business call or get some work done before boarding. Also, there are no moving walkways, so wear comfortable shoes if you're headed to one of the farther gates. One of my favorite parts of BNA is simply people-watching. It's always entertaining to see visitors arriving in full cowboy boots and hats, ready to experience Nashville for the first time. Overall, BNA is clean, welcoming, and captures the spirit of the city better than most airports I've visited. It's a great first impression of Nashville. Life is short.
