They installed new tires a few weeks ago and were great to w work with. Yesterday the tire pressure sensor alert came on. I stopped by to have it checked and they found the 2 rear sensors were bad and the front were also going out. They replaced all 4 right then without having to make an appointment. Same great service. Wow, guess I just got lucky last time. I've been trying for over a week to get an appointment here. Every time they say "we're full today and tomorrow, but call back tomorrow and we'll getcha in". And every time I call they say they are booked and to call again. Worse still, I get a busy signal when I call at 8am since their hold system is apparently overwhelmed. It's really disheartening to pound the "redial" button for 30 minutes straight, only to finally get through and find their are no appointments available. Guess I'll go back to the old way, just showing up at the other tire shops 30 minutes before opening, at least then I know I will get a slot. read more

Went to switch over my son's tires, and little did I know he had bent his rim and didn't tell me. The guys in the shop showed me the bent rim and did the best they could to straighten it out and swapped over to his winter tires. They referred me to a place where I could get a replacement since they did not have one. I located a replacement and stopped back by a couple days later and they squeezed me an appt to get the tire changed over to keep my son safe on the road. The service I received was excellent and all of the staff were polite and very nice. I'll definitely be back as soon I can to bring my other vehicle in as well. read more

We had a slow leak on the driver's rear tire. They got us in pretty quickly without an appointment, to find that we had THREE screws in the tire and it was not repairable. We were given options about replacements and an appointment for 4 hours later in the day to get it changed. We found some places to spend some time, returned early and were able to get all work completed prior to our original appointment. Sure glad we found this company to get the job done since we were only in town for the day. read more

I have been going to this Alaska Tire Service location for years. They are Amazing! They will have you in and out in less than an hour for an oil change. I get fully synthetic oil for $80. They have always done a good/speedy job. Also, if you buy tires from them you get free tire rotation for however long you keep those tires on. I recommend this place to my friends and family! read more

Shady business practice. I've been calling for more than a week to get a tire swap appt. For many of those days, I was either caller #1 or caller #2 and they still claim they are all booked for tire swaps and to call back the next morning. Yet, if you are buying new tires... they will make an appt appear out of nowhere. I wont' be trying them again. Either provide the service or don't, but don't pretend you offer a service. read more

My fishing buddy and I rented a Toyota 4Runner and got a flat tire :( so out in the middle of nowhere we changed out tire and brought the tire in to Alaska Tire service who figured out the problem, a torn tire which was unfortunately unrepairable. ATS informed me of this issue and got right on a good plan to move the spare tire to the original rim, and located a good used tire as a spare so we were back on the vacation road with only 90 minutes wasted. They had to order the spare from another location but were on top of getting this job done with a good plan allowing us to get back on the road again. Only $85! We were both very happy. read more

Took my vehicle to Toyota to get an oil change about a month ago. While cashing out, the guy said I should consider getting my brakes and tires replaced by next oil change. At one point, few years back, a manager there had told my dad that he'd be better off going elsewhere to get his brakes replaced. And considering the cost, I decided to get a second opinion. Went thru many reviews of different businesses in town, more bad than good reviews. Came across Alaska Tire Service and I've only used them to change my tires over (because it's 30min or less!!). I had no idea they did other services! They already have my business so I called to make an appointment to have them check my brakes out. When I showed up to my appointment, they gave me exact percentages of where my brakes are and as it turns out, I don't need to replace them for quite sometime. The appointment only lasted 20min! We've been going to Alaska Tire several years for winter tires. We love Blizzak's! They are an all season tire that are built in such a way they grab the road without studs. This time when we had them replace our tires they stripped the bolts. The plain bolts, they used, don't hold the hubcaps. See before and after pictures. I won't return to Alaska Tire for service. Alaska tire tried to justify not replacing the bolts and hubs but it doesn't justly! Making our truck look like a service vehicle because they are too cheap to get the right bolts IS NOT in our better interest. read more

I came in for a slow leak flat tire. They let me know the tires needed to be replaced. They gave me a quote and I wanted to do my research and check prices. They were professional and let me know the cost to put on my spare was $15. (Wow! That was great!) they let me know the $15 would be credited if I came back to get tires. I tried calling Costco where I got my last set and they would not answer the phone after several calls. So, I went back to Alaska Tire. They were professional and great. I only give them 4 stars because I had to go back to have them put my spare back under the truck. But when I did get back to have them do it, they were Johnny on the spot and were so courteous and apologetic. I will go here from now on! read more

I came in to the Eagle River Alaska tire Service store an hour before closing. I didnt need much. One tire was a slow leaker. They got me in no problem. Provided bead service and I was out the door. The ladies at the front were friendly but professional. The gentleman who rang me out you could tell he was a veteran employee. And the young gentleman in the back had me going in no time. Update: I got 2 calls from Alaska Tire Service (in different days) trying to make it right and refund the extra fee I wasn't aware of. THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT HERE PEOPLE! I really appreciate the extra mile they took to make things right. -------------------------------------- I was very excited to go here because I could make an appt and it's so conveniently located. Unfortunately things didn't go as expected. Although office/lobby staff is great and courteous the guy who did my tire change wasn't at all, I don't think he has a clue about customer service I fact. He was abrupt when I parked in and didn't look very happy. Well, that's fine since I didn't have to interact much with him. The problem came when they called me over to the counter for payment. An extra $60 (everyone was being charged $80, except me) because my car has a low profile... what? I've driven this car for 3+ years now and changed to my blizzak every winter... I made an appointment and when it was time. These guys were on my vehicle and my flat was fixed within 15 minutes. I initially had to put my spare on. They made sure my spare was inflated correctly and then installed it back under my vehicle where it belonged. I have had no problems with my tire! Just to start...I've been a customer for 15+ years and will be continuing to use them as my primary tire service into the future. They are a local business that hires Alaskans and has always had my family's safety as a priority. They know AK roads, city and rural...and will give you a solid assessment of what you need for your vehicle. So I have tried Costco and some other options in town over time, and have had issues....either customer service or product. My advice is go to the experts and experience when dealing with tires in Alaska. read more

Was finally able to get an appointment for 8am Friday October 20th. Lobby hadn't even opened yet when a technician approached and matched my car to his paperwork and had me pull into a bay. Was told there was minor "cosmetic damage" to my studded tires but they were in fairly good condition (they're 4 years old, so I know they're not perfect). Saturday afternoon I noticed a bulge on the inner sidewall of my rear driver side tire. Live less than 2 miles away, so I drove over at 5pm, hoping they could fix it to at least get me through the weekend. Brought my receipt from Friday with me as proof that I had just been there for tire changeover. Showed a photo of the bulge to a guy at the counter and asked if I should be worried. He said the something about straps broken and the tire needed to be replaced. I asked if they could do it today, he said no. So now I either drive with an unsafe tire or switch to my spare. Was this bulge the "cosmetic" damage the technician noted? I'll be returning to where I originally got the studded tires for new ones and will be adding rims to my summer tires to alleviate the wear and tear on the tires whenever they get changed over so this won't happen again. read more

These guys are QUICK and they are taking Covid seriously, two things I very much appreciate! I called at 8am and got a changeover appointment for the next morning. After checking in, they have you pull your car into the service bay (very glad my husband was with me for this part because I'm horrible with tight spaces, I'm a very nervous driver) so that they don't have to be in your car at all. I brought my laptop with me to do work but realized it was dead, and I don't think I even had time to be bored before they said my changeover was done. I got a flat tire today and the piece of metal went through the sidewall so it couldn't be repaired. I called all over town looking for a match (the tires were less than a winter old and still in excellent condition). I was so excited when they told me they had 8 of the tire I needed. But they refused to sell me 1 tire. They said I needed to buy a set of 4! Nothing like trying to rip a customer off. Rather than give them my business I went to another tire place and had them order me 1. I will be driving very little the next few days because I'm using the donut spare but I refuse to be taken advantage of. I will never give them my business. read more

Went in today to the 88th location to get my tires changed over to studs and was told they were not able to change them over since my summer tires had sensors in them. Which was odd because There other location had changed them over last year and there was no problem at all .I wasn't even aware of the issue. They said because it's a liability,they can't , yet they did last year and had no problem doing the changeover.They did not even offer to right their mistake and the inconvenience from me missing time out of my day to do this, so now I have to take my truck somewhere else to get it done. I have done business with you guys for years , even bought brand new sets of tires. I will be going somewhere else from now on and make sure all my friends know of my experience .
