I originally bought tires from this shop and did have a change over. I was going to have a changeover done this year with them. I drove over to their shop and ask a simple question to the lady at the front desk. She was way beyond rude and she did didn't even understand what I was saying. So I decided to take my car to Alaska tire and service. They told me that my lug nuts were totally ruined and the only place I took it to last for a changeover was BALTAZARS! Brought my car in two time for alignment first they told me me wheel hubs where shot then I replaced them my self then brought it back in for alignment then he tells a bushing in my uca was shot I told him I just replaced and it 1 week new told them just to do my alignment and I don't think they even put it on the alignment rack... I almost forgot as I was leaving I told them I wanted a copy of the alignment and said his printer was down what auto shop that has 100000$ worth of tools and a broken printer and when I got home my front tires like 3 on each side the wheel lug nuts where all loose looks like I ain't never taking my rigs here and tell all my off road friends not to bring anything close to here read more

I had my tire swapped out a month ago. I had a very slow leak. Had to refill twice. Figured it was the bead so I took it back and they charged me $50 to tell me it was the bead. I asked him why don't they guarantee that when they switch my tires out, they didn't say anything they'll never get my business again for $50. read more

It's just after the first snowfall of the season and I knew tire shops were going to be busy. I called several places about a repair I needed on a single tire and chose Baltazar's because they told me it would take "about two hours." I drove straight there from my house, not even 10 minutes away. When I got there, the same woman I had spoken to on the phone told me they were too busy and weren't taking any more tire repairs. If zero stars was available I would leave that. My husband took our chevy 3500 to get the tires changed. They changed tires over. My husband drove on them for about 2 weeks and then we noticed our rear wheel was making a noise, we come home and fine 4 out of 8 lugs snapped off the wheel hub, another 2 were missing lug nuts. Called the shop they sent a mechanic out to fix it. It took 2 days for bree to come fix it. Well why he was attempting to fix her he destroyed our whole rear up assembly by shredding the gears on the hub and broke the speed sensor. We had to take the truck to a dealership due to the shop refusing to fix it and telling us to drive it from the valley to Anchorage with it being unsafe to drive. Now while the truck has been down for over a month do to bree shortcuts this has caused more issues. I would not recommend this shop what so ever and stay clear from bree as a mechanic as he takes short cuts and can't admit blame for his wrong doing and blames others read more

FYI, this review is edited. Mt wife and i were long time customers, we switched from Costco to here because we wanted to support local twice a year for years three or four vehicles tire swaps. This last fall she took her Audi Q 3 there for winter tire install. She picked up her car, drove home a half miles and away and didnt move the vehicle till the next day, when she drove to the local hardware store a mile away. She finds her tire flat, returns to Balthazar's, they tell her the valve stem had a problem but there was no charge. Ok by their own admission the valve stem had a problem and they let her leave that way? Like she didn't touch it. All winter we had issues with the TPMS, fast forward to a week ago and they ask her did you drive on a flat tire she told them the story and it will now be a $1900 for a new rim! She pays, I write some reviews, Balthazar's sees my reviews contacts me, offers us to stop by. During the thread, i said unless you are offering to make it right i see no point. They tell me she drove on a flat, so she damaged it not us. A flat tire from their faulty install. If you're reading this how else would a valve stem be damaged the next day, after less than two miles? Of course she drove on a flat she didn't know about, she trusted them. We wont make the mistake of helping the little guy out again at least not in this case. read more

After being told they would be done that day, they weren't done the next day.. picked up the wheels and there is a puncture in the sidewall that WAS NOT there when I dropped them off. Took a car tire that had a nail in the middle of the tread to be repaired. I said that I wanted the tire fixed and was told it would be a one hour wait. I came back an hour later to get the tire and was told that it had been plugged and that it was going to be $30. When I inquired why the tire was not both patched and plugged which is the industry standard recommended by all tire manufactures I was told that would be an additional $20. I was then met with hostility when asked if only plugging a tire is a correct fix and would the service manager feel comfortable with this fix on his personal car. He refused to answer my question and kept repeating that he would patch it for an additional $20. I took my plugged only tire back and it started leaking again a week later like I figured. Run from this place, horrible customer service and overpriced half-done work. read more

I brought my car in and changed y tires. The next day the rear tire went flat. They said they sold me good tires but my rims were dirty and corroded . The sealant didn't seal. I just don't know why they would have put tires and mount it on dirty rims when all other charge or don't charge extra. But clean them B4 installing tires. It was sloppy work like some of the other reviews said. When I left I asked them to check the other three and redo them right. They insisted it was fine. The following week, another tire went flat. I needed new tires for a car of mine. A friend recommended a set of General tores and they were not available anywhere in town. Costco was booked out for three weeks and they wouldn't hold any tires or guarantee that any would even be available by then. I called around and found that Baltazar would order the tires and get them here and I stalled in a week. He was also charging at least $100 cheaper than the quotes I got from a few other places in town. I showed up a day or so after the tires came in and I was in and out in a out half an hour. Mistakes happen - in this case, not actually bolting all the wheels back onto my car. Fortunately, I recognized what was going on and was able to pull off the road before the wheel fell off.. Staff was very apologetic and sent someone down the street to finish the job.. but did they bring the remaining lug nuts I told them they would need? No. Did they offer to make up for the issue? Also no. While the original tire change was very quick, it was not well organized. I had to ask 3 different people where to go and what to do, and clearly they missed doing any sort of final quality check. I've been excited to see this east side business grow over the years, but will probably be looking for a new place next season. read more

I went in to get winter tires swapped on, I went in when the opened at 10am on a Saturday and was maybe the 5th one in line. I was in and out in 45 minutes. It was only $70 which is half the price that other places wanted to change wheels on 17" wheels. Very friendly staff inside as well! read more

Bought vehicle in for a real simple bolt on and TPMS change over. After waiting for 3 hrs, got a bill and an unknowingly unfinished change over took it back multiple times for them to finish properly ultimately had to go to another tire shop. Don't bring your vehicle here, they cut corners, have crap customer service, and ultimately want to charge you for their screw ups. read more

DO NOT EVER GO HERE. This is the worst tire company I have ever been to and literally the most disrespectful incident that has ever happened to me.I waited for 2.5 hours to get tires put on my car. During this time 4 employees kept coming in and asking people what car did they have, as if they have never ran a business before. Long story short the owner Mr Baltazar came out and said "hey, we forgot about your car". Also we didn't have the tires you wanted but you can have these that are $100 more. I went to explain to him I had been waiting for two hours calmly. He immediately starting "screaming" at me and calling me a liar and to get out of his shop. He then grabbed me and physically assaulted me, by trying to throw me out of his shop. His clerk then stepped in and said yes he has been waiting for over 2 hrs. He had a stupid look on his face and then persumed to apologize to me. This was a long story short. I hope no one has this experience again. I will not be going back here for safety purposes. The mechanic Eric allowed me to drive off the lot with loose brake pads and rotors that he just replaced. BACKSTORY: I have a 2007 dodge nitro. Back in 2019 I had my back brake pads & rotos replaced by baltazar. That went great!! No problems. In and out they got the parts I needed quickly. Fast forward to 7/10/2020 I go back because my first experience was good. I had gone in initially for some noises that were not previously there coming from the front end. I would brake and turn my steering wheel and it sounded like a rusty hamster wheel (best explanation I can come up with im not knowledgeable with mechanical problems) Eric looked at it proceeds to tell me "this resevoir here-under the car- could be repaired but its not leaking and its full of fluid" and starts to jiggle it around. Doesn't bother to tell me what the resevoir is or its purpose so I have no idea to this day what resevoir he was talking about all I know is where it is under the car. So I leave that day and notice some rattling under the front end driving on unsmooth roads and bumps. Almost like something is loose like my suspension is what it sounded like TO ME (again im no mechanic I have no idea) I think nothing of it maybe it was the reservoir he played with rattling around? Im clueless. But I keep an eye on the sounds. As of a few days ago the week of 7/27/2020 I noticed some not so pleasant sounds again when I'd brake. It was a very prominent THUNK sound when I'd press on the brake pedal. The worse it got it sounded like things were grinding against each other. Especially when I'd put my car in reverse it was unbearable to listen to. My gut told me he messed something up or neglected something and it needed to be looked at again. Finally wednesday 7/29/2020 I get off work early enough to get into the shop before they closed. And of course the ONLY MECHANIC they have wasnt there so Eric who originally did the work wasn't there on Wednesday but they looked at it inspected it to make sure it was or wasn't safe for it to be driven and told me if its unsafe to come back the next business day on Thursday 7/30/2020 when Eric WOULD be there. The gentleman (didnt get his name unfortunately) who drove it to the back of the shop said "oh! That noise is NOT supposed to be their!" Which is exactly why I was upset because I knew in my gut my car could've potentially been a hazard to myself and anyone on the road. Hour later another gentleman -Jeff- comes to the lobby to tell me my car is good to go its safe to drive. So I'm like "ok what was wrong?" WHEN I TELL YOU I AM ABSOLUTELY FLOORED BY THIS MANS RESPONSE IT IS NO JOKE! "oh it just wasn't tightened we tightened everything" the fact that it was said so blatantly like it wasn't a big hazard and a huge disregard for my safety and others has left me SPEECHLESS. I appreciate everyone who helped me that day. But as of Eric I will NOT be going back to baltazar for that purpose alone. I could have seriously hurt myself or someone else had my brakes come loose all because of an oversight or just pure laziness by Eric. I will no longer recommend them for anything ever again which is unfortunate because they were the one place who was able to get me in and help me last minute when I needed it. read more

DO NOT let them Even come close to touching your car!!! They ripped gashes in all 4 of my tires when installing them incorrectly onto the rims. When I took the first blowout to Johnston's Tire, thinking it was just a "flat" they told me they had over 6 people that week come in for the very same thing, ripped beads. read more

MI took my car to Balthazar's to have a tire repaired, they repaired my tire and sent me on my way. Two days later my wheel fell off. I called them to discuss the situation and they told me they were not going to do anything because it was due to the cold weather that all of the lugs snapped off. The conversation got to the point that I had to tow my vehicle there and they would take care of it, with no details. I towed my vehicle there and they replaced the studs and put back on the same wheel. They then went on to try and charge me for the service. My vehicle has sustained multiple damages beyond the studs snapping off. the wheel lug seating was completely stripped and an unsafe application yet they still put it back on and told me it was going to be safe. My vehicles entire hub assembly needs to be replaced, the shock mount is bent and needs repaired as well and Balthazar has assumed no responsibility and are not willing to work with me. I will never take another vehicle to them and would recommend that anyone reading this finds service elsewhere. read more
