I've never had a bad dish here but typically opt for their pizza. It's consistently awesome. When dining in, I flavor the taco pizza which is the best I have ever had. I waited one-half hour for cheese bread today. They did not give me the marinara that I paid extra for either. The bread was very cold after sitting in the window for a long time. Yummy pizza, tasty Italian beef. We split a sandwich and ate about half of a small pizza. Our total was about $13 dollars. The waitress was really nice, the interior was divey and weirdly shaped, the jukebox was well stocked with oldies. For $2, we dined to Johnny Cash, the Beatles, Willie Nelson, Brown Eyed Girl, and a few other timeless classics. The booths are low-backed and made of wood...there are no chairs. There are some murals of life in the "old country" and in the dining room there are "wise words" from sources such as the Bible, actors, and theologians. There were only 3 tables of customers on St Patrick's Day eve...the middle-aged couple across from us were singing along with the songs we played and playing "name that tune" with each other. I like this place. Sausage is the real deal...slices from a big link, not the "balls" most places in Indy use. read more

First,my disclaimer...I've only had the pizza at Albano's and it's delicious! I've not ordered anything else from the menu because their pizza is soooo good. The atomosphere is kind of throw back but only because it looks like they've not updated the decor for a long time - which is perfect! The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The pizza comes out hot and it's always Yummy. The blend of cheeses along with the crispy crust and the flavorful sauce is a terrific blend of yumminess! I highly recommend their pizza. read more

Food is gross, no flavor and is always served LUKEWARM which is not only disgusting but doesn't meet hot food requirements. I have tried both LP locations also and had the exact same issue. Very sad situation we ordered 2 Large Pizza's they were delivered to us cold. Then the manager for tonight 1-10-21 told us that they were coming to get the pizza then we would have to wait another hour for our pizza to get back. Instead of having better customer service she was nasty with us. Decided she would send out two new pizzas and take back the other pizzas. This is really sad I never had such bad service here before so I will not be coming back again and I'm letting my family and friends know as well. Was passing through and wanted to try some local fare. Stopped in to get an Italian Beef, French fries and a root beer. The nice young girl behind the counter gave me my receipt at 6:39 pm. I left with my order in hand at 7:02. Wow!! Not impressed! Apparently there was some issue with running the frozen fries through the oven?!? Granted, I didn't call ahead but sheesh! And, it wasn't eve that busy. If I hadn't already paid first, I would have walked out. Once I got the sandwich it was pretty decent. Big thick bread, plenty of meat and a nice au jus container for dipping. But unfortunately, my sandwich was like warm due to the fries issue. Apparently they have good pizza. I've been going to this place since I was a kid and the food is always so good. One of the best local spots around and the quality doesn't change. Their pizza and Italian Beef is what keeps me coming back. The beef is always tender and the au jus is flavorful, make sure to get cheese and both sweet and hot peppers it just adds so much flavor. Amazing pizza with friendly service, and INCREDIBLE atmosphere. Really, the place looks like a cave, and the walls are adorned with witty quotes. There are no windows. The lighting is warm and dim. The booths are amazing wooden slabs sticking out of the wall. I just love being here. The pizza is delish, especially the taco pizza. The only drawbacks? Competitive, narrow parking lot and no free refills on soda. Get the lemonade, tea, or water and you can avoid one problem. Second best pizza in Michigan City, but a CLOSE second. Two months ago I would have given this place four stars, but because of our take out experience last night, I have to bump it down. How can you mess up a sausage pizza? Put it on cardboard and hold the salt. I'm sad to write this because my first experience in their dining "cave" was so memorable. The atmosphere is quirky and fun, and the pizza at the time was great. The Taco Bell-like tacos are a childhood throwback for my partner. That time alone kept us coming back for more. But after last night's disappointment, we might have to reconsider. I've heard the Albano's Pizza Inc in La Porte is better. The never-updated inside of this restaurant deserves 5 stars because it's amaaaazing. The pizza? 2 stars. Unless you were forced to eat the pizza as a child and developed some sort of Stockholm syndrome, really, you will be disappointed with this pizza place. The pizza comes in only two sizes (small and large) and, while cheesy, the toppings are really shameful. The pepperoni is some of the worst I've ever had, the sausage tastes kinda like breakfast sausage instead of italian sausage, and even the veggies were icky. Says the website is wrong. I spoke to the manager who says she's not the one in charge of the website and the sandwiches are sold for $4.00 more each.
