This was damn good. A bunch of co-workers and I went here for lunch. We were pleased that the guys working were very friendly and the food was tasty and fast. My only complaint is that the gyro salad could have had more greens and less onion. Other than that, it was spot on. read more

I've been driving by this place for a while and had written it off because of location. But when all the 5 star reviews came up we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! The gyros meat is delicious and flavorful - even our picky kids liked it. The offering of vintage sodas is fun. What a gem! We've lived in Eugene for years and have watched many businesses come and go in this spot...but we can say with certainty that this will be the one to stay. Amazing, mouthwatering, authentic gyros! Clear cut, sparse menu...no fillers! But that's because they are clearly doing what they do best. We devoured our gyros. The Mediterranean fries were to die for. The kids loved the cooler full of retro sodas. The guys at the counter were super friendly and clearly excited about their menu. I chose this place because of the excellent reviews and I wasn't disappointed. It's small and divey but I kind of like it like that. Minimal amount of foot traffic, good food, and prompt service. Everything you would expect for a hole in the wall. The only thing I would improve is some additional menu options, it's a bit limited as is. read more

We came passing through and loved this. We had the pleasure of meeting Albee himself, and what a friendly and hard working owner he was! The staff was incredibly friendly and made the restaurant very fun and comfortable. I grew up in NY and had an annual Greek Fest about an hour from my home. This place won't win any awards for ambience but the food is amazing. I stopped in at approximately 7:30 PM and there were two young guys behind the counter. Super friendly and I actually thought they might own the place based on how much pride they seemed to have in this business. They gave me a sample of the gyro meet and the special home made sauce. I was immediately hooked. I bought the gyro a piece of spinach pie and one piece of baklava. WOW was it good. Not even fan of Mediterranean Food however went for a quick bite.The two young Gentlemen working both named Jake, great personalities! They let me sample a few things. All were tasty making it harder to decide. Ordered the Gyro and Garlic fries. The gyro was fantastic however the fries had a bit much garlic which overpowered the flavor of the fry, they were also lacking a bit of salt. read more

Im only giving 3 stars because beyond the customer service everything else was just "not there" the guy and girl working there were really cool.. But the gyro was expensive.. Came out too like 8.50 or something like that. I also thought the lamb was alittle on the dry side and the sauce the used was alittle on the sour side for my taste. read more

We were traveling through Eugene from Florence on our honeymoon and decided to give Greek food a try for the first time. BEST decision ever! I have never liked red meat my entire life and had not had it in at least ten years, but I decided to taste the sample of the meat that my husband got. It was so delicious that I got a gyro as well, and let me tell you, it was SO good. The garlic fries were also very good! It was a good way to come out of the dark! Plus the staff was extremely friendly from the minute we walked through the door until we left. They even gave us complimentary baklava as a gift for our honeymoon. Albee's makes some solid gyros, definitely the best I've had in a while. Staff at both locations are terrific. Greek and gyro salads are awesome too, veggies are crisp and fresh and ohhhh the tzatziki sauce... excellent! This 18th St location also has curly fries and kombucha on tap, and both spots have a cool selection of craft sodas. Consistently fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. My wife and I have traveled the world as flight attendants, and in retirement we are happy to find a great gyro so close to home. Just finished lunch at Albee's on 18th. After completely inhaling my gyro I wonder why I drive past this place without stopping more often. That will certainly change after today. The service is very friendly and the food is delicious. It feels like a part of the neighborhood, something seriously missing on the SW side of town. The staff urged us to try things first; they gave us a small, free sample of the baklava. It was heavenly! After trying the hummus, we purchased a container of it to take home with us. Yes, oh very much yes. I have been looking for good, basic gyros since moving away from home, and Albee's is IT. This is a solid East Coast gyro place all the way through, from the food to the feel of the restaurant. The gyro meat is just what it needs to be . . . a lovely tender rotisserie beer-lamb-spices mix, and they put plenty of meat on the gyro sandwich. The fries are great even if you've waited to eat them until you get home--crispy, well-spiced, and yay for garlic--and the dolmas even had mint in them (NOT bland like so many places' dolmas/dolmades). I can't believe it took me two years to try Albees; we will be back. I still need to try the falafel and the baklava! read more

Was recommended by coworkers to come here. Place was amazing. The people who work there are very friendly. I've never had gyros before and they were very filling. There was a lot of meat in them and the sauce was really good. Very messy though but worth it for sure. The garlic fries had visible garlic on them but weren't too overpowering. The price was good for all the food you get. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something new. read more

Wahoo! Finally found a good gyro spot! Ian and Brandon were super nice and funny. Great fast service just down the hill. I'll definitely be back!
