Prawn Marsala
Adrian P.

Very quiet and quaint family operated restaurant. The waitress is the owner and su-chef. Her husband is the chef. Good food and you can tell it's home made. I ate the Prawn Marsala. It had garlic and Marsala on the prawns with black rice on the side. Very entertaining dish and did the job. Now to reason I gave this five stars instead of four. They went out of their way to accommodate my kids with handmade pasta with butter and cheese. We've been to restaurants here and there and they flat out tell us no. Not here though. They not only did it, they came out and asked if we needed more and how it tastes. Little to say they caught mom and dad eating it, that's how good it was. Recommending to stop by when in Eugene.

It was lovely to be greeted by Lexi! A young lady I met at her previous place of employment. As usual, Lexi provided excellent service! Checking in with warm bread & putting our designer bibs on to enjoy the Cioppino. Can I say, better than Scoma's in SF‼ Our charcuterie board was wonderful as well would like to see LaVelle wines on your selection.....keeping it local. Can't wait to bring my partner & other friends here! Cheers

Roasted Beat Salad - Best Ever

We had an excellent dinner here on Aug 23rd. @ had Scallops best ever, One had pasta Primavera sea food and I had linguini and clams and roasted beat salad. All great. Our server was great. Nice quaint atmosphere. Highly recommend people come here to enjoy a great Italian dinner. Can't say enough. Will be back again and again........

Pesto Pasta with Tiger prawns

This was he second time I've come here and I was so pleased that I had to write a review this time. I came with a group of 7 and got to see a selection of plates which gave me the lay of the land on what they offer. We all traded a few bites and I could not decide which was better. Go here now if you want some great Italian food!! I guarantee you will leave happy and full.

How is the gluten free part of the menu?

I don't recall seeing anything clearly labeled. I suspect if you ask, then either they can tell you the items, or they can custom prepare for you. For example, the Fish of the Day I had was halibut with no breading, sauteed string beans, and wild…

Wow! This food is insanely delicious! As we knew that we would be passing through Eugene yesterday,…read moreI started looking up restaurants. I was enticed by the pictures of fresh salads and wood fired pizzas. We ended up getting a few pizzas, a couple different pastas. They were all so flavorful (not salty) the texture of the gnocchi was so soft and absorbed the flavorful sauce. We were all blown away. We used QR to order, and were advised to order in waves. Drinks first. Everything came out promptly, even though the restaurant was pretty full. The last few days we ate at some incredible restaurants. Cold Springs Tavern in Santa Barbara, Nepenthe in Big Sur, then we come to Osteria DOP and all agreed the food here was unmatched. The best. For driving many hours, I liked that the atmosphere was casual, but it still looked modern and nice.

The pasta was a nice al dente and had a good coat of sauce. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, the food came relatively quickly! The restaurant has limited tables, so expect a wait! There are also bar seats and seats that face a wall. There are QR codes at tables to scan and place your order, and the waiters that bring/bus food were super friendly. All and all, Osteria DOP was a great experience! I will be back to try out more items from their menu.

Both my self and my wife have spent extensive time in Italy and know Italian quarantine very well. So we were quite interested in trying this location based on many of the reviews a the menu. This is my verdict. I ordered the LASAGNA DELLA CASA, and the Tiramisu for the desert. First the lasagna, I read the Yelp reviews on this establishment prior to ordering. For the most part the reviews were good. I read two reviews that claimed that the sauce is canned. After tasting the sauce I can guarantee that those who are claiming that the sauce is canned clearly have a pallet that is fit for judging can dog or cat food. When it comes to real cuisine they have no clue of what they are talking about. I can guarantee the sauce is hand made. Even with it being take out I can tell you that. The lasagna was very good. The sauce was outstanding, the pasta was perfectly cooked and the Italian sausage is amazing. It has a perfectly balanced flavor with a wonderful flavor of fennel, not over powering yet its presences was very enjoyable. Overall for take out I was impressed. I will definitely be returning to this location to try this dish again in a dine in experience. Now for the Tiramisu. I have eaten this dessert in Italy at some very high end restaurants. As far as the Tiramisu at Beppe & Gianni's, it is on par with the best that I have eaten in some of the best Italian restaurants in and throughout Italy. And absolute symphony of wonderfulness. Let me remind you this was a take out order, that being said I am looking forward to returning to this location for the sit down experience. When I do that, I will take photographs of the cuisine and post them. It is not fair to an establishment to take pictures of takeout. When I went into the Restaurant to pick it up, I saw the plating and it was outstanding. The takeout box just doesn't do it justice. I highly recommend this location.

People are sitting on couches and some others are doing work. They have an assortment of coffee drinks and the barista was friendly. I love the decor, the rugs on the wall are great. Are they selling them? Not sure, but they were very luxurious and exotic feeling. My friend and I didn't have to wait in line and both ordered a tea to go - mine a mango black tea, and hers a rooibos tea. $4.75 each, and we added a $1 tip. Even though the teas were to go, we managed to snag an open couch in to the left of where orders are taken. For two people, it felt somewhat private and out of the way - perfect for us to chat. You order the drinks, and then go to the far end to wait for them to be made and presented. The wait was less than 5 minutes. The draw back to this visit was the temperature of the tea. Both my friend and I love piping hot drinks, and usually have poor experiences with drinks being lukewarm which is awful. However, this tea was scalding hot. We are both tea drinkers, and boiling water straight off the stove cools down faster than these teas did. It was a minimum of 10 minutes before we tried to take a sip, and I still burnt my tongue, they were still that hot. It just made it much less enjoyable to sit in the space, chatting, with scalding teas that were too hot to enjoy after a normal amount of time. Steeping time is 4 minutes, which is standard. Normally, at about 5-6 minutes you're ready to drink, even if you're blowing on it a little. This was a 10+ minute wait for the drinks to cool down, just to end up burning my tongue anyways. And I repeat, we are not shrinking violets - we like hot teas, there was something super wrong with the temperature of these. Overall, I would go back, but next time, I'm going to say something if the tea comes out that hot again. I'm hoping this was a fluke.

Finally, with friends visiting from Washington, we made a special trip up to Reedsport, just to try it out. Best dining experience for a long time, for each of us! We called in for reservations, and the host nabbed us a table by the window, with an incredible view out across the bay. Upon arrival, Ron greeted us like we were family, and promptly offered us a tour of this very unique facility. The remains of a retired Coast Guard cutter, the entry way brings you into what looks to be a steel galleyway. Portholes peek through to the bar area and dining rooms. Up top, guests can reserve a private dining room, built from the original Bridge Cabin of the ship! Ron's original artwork adorned the walls of the place, and were quite unique - definitely adds to the decor. We sat down with the menu, and were pleased with the excellent variety of items available. We started off with the Clams Portuguese appetizer, and all LOVED it! In my opinion, it could have included a few more wheels of the Linguica, but the flavor was perfect. The drinks menu was very inviting, but considering that we were all extending our Dry January tradition, opted to try them on another visit. For our main course, my partner ordered the Beef Stroganoff. Being an aficionado of this dish, and having her own special recipe herself, she really loved how the flavors blended. Our guests ordered the Spaghetti di Frutti di Mare, and the Shrimp Louis salad. Both were delicious! I requested the Huckleberry-glazed Salmon, and was delighted with the consistency. The turmeric rice side dish was fantastic as well. Our favorite item was the Flowerpot Bread - a dense, two-toned baked roll, with a crusty shell. Very nice for wiping out all the delicious sauce residue from our meals. The parking was just a minor challenge; it is shared with the restaurant next door, so we ended up parking in what seemed to be boat trailer spots. Fortunately, there were no boats coming or going that evening, but it could be dicey during salmon season. We will definitely be back soon, however, to try out some of the other excellent-looking menu items!
