Albee's... you really kick ass when it comes to making gyros and now you have a breakfast gyro on Monday, Wednesday and Friday!? I may have to change my work schedule just to try one of those. I had tried two other Albee's locations and now that I've tried this location it's safe to say that they are consistent and always delicious. The meat is tender, the toppings are fresh and the customer service is on point. This location is small with only a couple bar seats at the window and a couple tables outside so it's best to get your order to go. I will say that while the garlic fries are good they don't really give you very much for $3. I would definitely recommend one order of fries for each person unless you don't like fries or you aren't hungry. The gyros are really good portions but you gotta have your fries! They also have vegetarian options and like I said now they serve a new breakfast gyro. Parking can be tough since it's street parking but you might be able to park in the liquor store parking lot next door if you make it quick!! read more

really good gyros. and i've loved that stinky greek food since first memory. tz sauce is amazing and so is the meat and the toopings they use- all the ingredients are fresh as a motarfoger but the best part is the staff is always so fluging so nice and accommodating as hell. they always hook it up and punch your card extra so you can come back for your free dinner. good hours too, eap for the annoying early closing neighbors in the area. garlic fries are fire, new breakfast"gyro" is insanely good. idk that bacon is ridic. read more

Albee's is awesome. I do my laundry next door and I was always curious as to how the food was. The other day I finally walked in, and I love this place. I asked about what they like on the menu, the the cashier was super helpful. He explained how everything is made in house, including the hummus and tzatziki sauce. I may have to start using Albee's as my go-to east coast homesickness recipe. Although I would prefer the flavor of full lamb meat instead of the lamb and beef combo, I have to say that it still satisfied the same gyro passion. The feta and veggies were also really nice and crisp and the staff was super friendly. I agree with others that the cash only policy can be a little frustrating but that's only because I've lost out on the goodness due to lack of cash once or twice. That being said, it doesn't change the fact that cash or credit I would buy an Albee's gyro happily. read more

My husband thinks these are the best gyros, I think they're good, not the best. The meat, however, is extremely flavorful and authentic to gyros in the Mediterranean. The gyros are dry though, I wished there was more tzatziki sauce on them, and that the sauce had some more flavor as well. Their baklava is amazing! The 11th street location is a random hole-in-the-wall, I love little obscure places like that though. The staff are friendly and because the place is so small it's easy to strike up a good conversation with them. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Ate at this place the other day and I love this place! I must have looked like a noob walking into the restaurant because the owner, I'm guessing he's Albee?, asked if I wanted to taste the meat before I ordered. There not the best gyros but they are very good.... the guys inside were very nice. My hubby and kids ate outside it was nice until a drunk guy that smelled like psst sat on the other establishment (laundry mat). So that ruined it for me..next time were taking it to go and eat it at a park... but u should deffinetly give this place a try. They also have different flavored sodas.. Albee....thank you for gracing Eugene with these gyros. This is one of my favorite places if I want to pick up something quick but unique and full of flavor. There are multiple locations around town- primarily the same menu, but slightly different options for smaller plates (i.e, one location has hummus appetizer while the others do not). Sadly, they did raise their prices not too long ago- but that hasn't stopped me yet! This location has a few tables outside and a counter inside- but is really more ideal for taking to go. They take call ahead orders, which I would definitely recommend especially if you want falafel, which takes a little longer. You can also easily pick and choose toppings without issue. Lost a star only because the music in the shop was way way too loud, and the cig smoke from the people sitting outside the market blew right in our (and our kids' faces). So not much for atmosphere but the gyros were delicious. The only toppings we had was tomatoes, onions, feta and tzatziki sauce. The meat portion was very generous and the pita bread warm and soft. Visiting my son, from the east coast, heard about Albee's. Being Brooklyn born, I had access to some of the best gyro's. Albee's really made some excellent gyros. And the garlic fries are an added bonus of flavor. My family and I had to have a second round before heading back to the east coast. The staff is welcoming and very polite. Today was my first time trying a gyro here...There was only one guy making the food but he did as fast as he could. The pita wasn't hard and the meat wasn't chewy. It was actually pretty good. Great grab-and-go or eat at the counter spot! For less than $25 we had a large & small gyro, garlic fries, dolmas, baklava, and 2 delicious bottled sodas. Thank you, yelpers! I guess there are 2 loacations. Ken gave us great service at this one. It's no-frills, but solid eats. I would've preferred kalamata olives instead of the mild black olives and a fresh, housemade pita, but that's the foodie in me being all picky. I'd totally eat this gyro again! I love this place! Albee is a really down to earth guy who clearly loves what he does. My girlfriend and I came in here and split a falafel wrap and it was delicious (I may like the meat gyro even more). We ate outside on the little patio and were surprised when Albee came out and offered us a generous sample of his homemade baklava on the house. It was heaven!!! They're mediocre-quality gyros, but I thought the price was quite fair, the food is fresh and quick, and Albee's service has been great the four or five times I've been in. The baklava is addictive. One thing - and this may have changed in the last month or so, but they're cash-only. As someone who usually puts anything and everything on a card, a trip to Albee's requires some planning ahead. I had been craving a gyro or doner and this place looked like it could deliver. I went with my coworkers and we weren't disappointed. Good food and great garlic fries! The price is right and I believe they now take cards via Square. I've had better gyros, but not by much. These guys' tzaziki sauce is spot on delicious. Definitely will come back again. Great little hole-in-the-wall Gyro shop with traditional beef and lamb (combined) gyros as well as a falafel vegetarian gyro. The meat is sliced off of the vertical grill while you watch. Also Spanikopita and baklava are offered. It is a cash-only establishment, so come prepared. For $6 the fresh gyro is a warm, spicy, delicious meal. I am so glad I finally stopped in and will definitely become a regular customer. Also, in regard to the review by Brian indicating that the sauce needs work... it seems like in the past year Albee has improved his sauce recipe as it was thick and satisfactory as it should be. read more

Excellent gyros. Being from the east coast, I'm fairly critical of my gyro experience. I go often...have a punch card so that every 11th gyro is free. Gone through a couple of cards in the three years I've live in Eugene! The store on 11th is very small as far as seating is concerned. All three stores have the same quality food. read more

It is piled with gyro meat (beef & lamb) that's so tender yet crispy on the outside. The toppings are ample and crisp. They taste very fresh. I like the other location for Albee's because they have the mediterranean fries which are fries with little bits of garlic, gyro meat and feta cheese. But in my opinion this location makes their gyro's better. The meat is more juicy and the gyro overall is more loaded.
