This is one of our favorite family places! We've been here for several different events throughout the year, and every single visit has been amazing. We've enjoyed the waterpark during the summer, visited the fair, and even experienced their Christmas event. During the waterpark season, there are plenty of slides and splash areas for kids of all ages, and my children always have the best time. The Christmas season is absolutely beautiful. They decorate the entire park with lights and festive displays, have great shows, rides, carousels, and so many fun activities for families. They also offer fun activities like painting and other hands-on experiences, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Best of all, it's very affordable, making it a great value for families. If you're looking for a place where your kids will have an unforgettable day, I highly recommend it. This water park was so much fun! We crossed over pretty early in the morning and arrived right at opening entrance. The entry process was quick and easy. They offer masks at the front if you forgot yours for a small fee. The waterslides were so much fun to ride and there was a good selection of slides and also to be in to choose from. I don't know which one was my favorite because I had fun on all of them and it has been years since I've been on a waterslide at raging waters. I will definitely be coming back here especially because after being at the waterpark all day we decided to venture out and try out a restaurant that was fantastic. This place was so lit! Every ride was a tad shakey but I mean it would be a fun way to go out haha. Conversion rates for USD is currently 19-1. The churros are amazing! I got 5 since they're on the smaller sides. The coconut was a legit scam because I thought it was juice but it was just rock hard coconut slices with tajin which was a disappointment. The Elote was also a disappointment since it was just hot water with uncooked corn mixed with Mayo. The park allows you to bring your own coolers of food and even coal bbq so I would definitely recommend bringing your own food and just buy your alcohol here! The only reason this place gets 4 stars is because the rides are so fun! For all the women going, I definitely recommend a t-shirt or one piece because your boobs will come out and flash the crowd when you launch off the slide. For the tub rides I would say put yourself in a brace position because I knock my head pretty hard making a quick sudden turn. As for dudes, for majority of all rides you can't have a button or a zipper on your swim trunks because it'll get caught. Save yourself the hassle. Masks were also required walking in between the zones and they're pretty on it for that. For the American tourist if you came via taxi there like us I would recommend you grab your taxi drivers number to come grab you. Taxi's will not drive to the area and you'll wait forever. Even the locals were telling us that it wasn't safe to be there and don't walk out of the water park like us cause we almost got kidnapped! Best spot in TJ for the kids for spring break. Go every year with my son and he has a blasts. Ample space and so many water rides there's never huge lines. Never gone in the summer but I can image how busy it gets. Approx $10 usd and there's tons of food places inside to eat (sushi, burgers, pizza, Mexican, beer, etc) if you decide not to bring your own food. We always rent tubes for the lazy pool and other water rides. Definitely a spot for locals (and US college kids) and worth the visit. read more

I had been wanting to visit El Vergel ever since I had seen it featured on the show Crossing South. After my first daytrip I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. After crossing into Tijuana my friends and I took an Uber XL from Estacion Federal. The trip took about 20 minutes as El Vergel is over near the Otay Border Crossing. On the day of my visit adult admission was $8.80. At this same time an adult ticket was $46 at Aquatica! After paying security will inspect your backpack and then it is on! You will quickly see to your left the area where you could rent a locker. On the day of my visit a locker was 40 Pesos. Outside there is some kind of device that can get you Wifi after paying but I could never get it to work. Outside of the locker are you will see: the lazy river, Medusa (slide), several slides that appeared to be closed and numerous food stands. I was impressed on the diverse food choices which included: barbecue, sushi, quesadillas, tacos, burgers, etc. The center of the park features the: Tarzan rope, lazy river and another slide which I don't recall the name. The left side of the park features: the Slip N Slide, Kamakazzi, wave pool, kiddie area, and 2 other slides. If you going as a group I recommend you meet up at a palappa which is a large table a palm umbrella. As many other places in Tijuana, I am already wanting to return. read more

Everything you've ever wanted in a water park and more! This place does not compare to your traditional American water parks. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. Prepare to be blown away!! AY AY AY!!! COST: Entrance is less than $10 for adults! -- You can't even park at an American water park for that price!! It's usually around $7 and chicos (kids) are even less. They take American dollars through out the park so no need to worry about exchanging for pesos! EATS: There are a bunch of different food vendors through out the park varying from traditional Mexican fare (tacos, fruit salads with/chili, etc) to pizza! Food is reasonably priced and tasty! You can also bring in your own food and coolers. They even have grills in if you want to do a bbq. We haven't done that yet, so I can't comment on the availability of grills, or if you need your own charcoal. DRINK: Tecates are readily available throughout the entire park and at a price of $5 for 3 beers you will be feeling good enough that even the scariest rides will put a grin on your face from cheek to cheek. You can also grab a Michelada if you're feeling it! They have sodas as well and bottled water for the little ones or if you've just had a few too many cervesas. STUFF: Lockers are available for rent and are in the office so there is always someone watching. You have a copy of the key and I imagine the owners have a second copy. You get to wear a sweet bracelet all day with the key attached. I typically carry a few bucks for beers, my sun glasses and leave all my gear in the locker. If you want, you can usually find a chair to leave your towel but I'm usually rushing between rides so I don't even bother. FLOATIES: There are also tubes available for rent for the day at about $5 or 7. There is at least one slide you must have a tube to ride, and you'll want one for lazy river too but you can skip it and still have a great time! I don't know the policy on bringing your own, so you may want to check on that before you bring out your giant rubber ducky. SLIDES AND RIDES: I highly encourage you to check out the park's website for the pictures! There are plenty of speed slides, group slides, a lazy river, a huge wave pool with cliffs you can jump from, "Wipeout" type obstacles above water, a slide that flushes you just like a toilet bowl (no joke) and even areas for kids (short slides and water fountains)!! You will be blown away by the number of slides and how quickly the lines go. Usually by the time you get to the top of the stairs you are just a few minutes from sliding straight back to the bottom. You won't find that in the US! TRAVELING FROM USA: A group of gringos and I go several times a summer (at least once a month) and we've all made it back, often bruised and sore from bumping around on the slides, but alive none the less. We typically take the SD Trolley down and use the pedestrian crossing and grab a taxi van once in the downtown area to the park. It's VERY helpful if you have someone in your group that "hablas Espanol". It's usually about a buck or two a person for the ride to the park. You can usually arrange with the driver to come back at 6 PM (when the park closes) too to make it easy. DUH: Be smart, be safe and most importantly have fun!!!! And the one thing you've been waiting for... WATER: I know what you're thinking... NOPE. The water is all treated and a gorgeous and crisp blue. Most of the slides and areas are heated or warm enough to be enjoyable. No "Snickers bars" and band-aids floating around. And if you're that worried about it... Have fun at Knotts paying an arm and a leg to to wait in line 50 minutes for a 30 second ride, 20 minutes for an outrageously priced corndog, and still only half the fun I'll be having. :P read more

I LOVE ALbercas!!! I come here every year for the 4th of July with about 40 of my friends and we are amazed at how great it is every year. HIGHLIGHTS: the rides are fun with just a hint of danger. Like if you are not careful you will totally get air on the slides and could land pretty hard. Also the Slip N' Fly is a real muther F'er that will jack up your back. But it's also a ton of fun so you gotta suck it up and go! Beers are around $2 for Tecate and they will let you bring in a cooler of food if you wanna grill it up. I also recommend you spend the $5 bucks and rent an innertube, you will need it for some of the rides. read more

Best water park I've been to and very affordable prices, the staff and security are very welcoming and also attentive when you leave. There is more than enough restrooms making an easy in and out "no lines" and very clean! The place is huge and there is a lot of tables and umbrellas for EVERYONE! Shops for all your swimming needs! lots of variety of food and snack stands, There is even a Pool Bar with like 6 pool tables!! I am so appreciative of a parking attendant who found my wallet which had a decent amount of money and all my sources of identification!! His name is Raul!! so if you ever visit this place and you get to meet Raul the Parking Atendant make sure you let him know that we appreciate people like him. I love this place! Great water park! Been here many times and recently Went on Father's Day. It was a bit crowded but lots of seating areas to choose from. You have parking servalance and hauling service of your personal items to and from your viechel. You can take your own food and bbq grills. They also have food booths and food vendors walking around. Bathrooms are decent and they have showers. Well kept and clean. Great costumer service by staff members! I have had great experiences everytime I have gone so far. I will definitely continue to go. I came for Labor Day weekend, not by choice but was pleasantly surprised. Very clean, not packed, life guards were being watchful, the staff was very friendly they even asked us if we needed a shopping cart to take all of our stuff. They have a lot to do so it was not boring. I would suggest bringing a life jacket if you have kids that don't know how to swim for the big pools, the kid area was fun. The Churros are a MUST try for sure. Parking was easy! It was an overall great experience... next time i think would come more equipped maybe bring some ceviche... since they allow outside food and drinks. read more

Do not ride the purple and yellow Medusa slide. 50% of riders received a mild concussion. One such rider, a 12 yo girl, came out of the tube delirious and put her face in the water in shock. The lifeguards saw this scary behavior and proceeded to squirt her in the face with super soakers. Many of the slides lack basic safety precautions, which make them thrilling but for the wrong reasons. Back at the Medusa slide, you hit your head against the tube wall at least twice if you reach Mach 1, which happens if you weigh over 150 lbs. Also at the Medusa slide is a Multicolor harmless looking kiddie slide. If you do it and weigh more than 100 lbs, you go airborne at the middle and land sideways on your back across the very hard, fiberglass slide divider for what is absolutely hilarious for spectators but terrible for you. Tecate is the official beer of the park, and it is super cheap. About 6 are required to lose your sense of self-preservation and do the Slip N Fly. Believe it or not, the Slip N Fly is the safest thing in the park besides the lazy river and the toilet bowl slide. This is because it has no hard slide parts. It's just a plastic slip and slide sheet that is about 30 yards long and launches you a solid 20 feet in the air before you land into a deep pool with real lifeguards at the ready. Most park visitors post up here to watch the inevitable belly flop (prepare for internal bleeding if you are the flopper) or the inevitable bikini top malfunction since you must do the Slip N Fly on your stomach if you want to do a normal dive into the pool. If you go on your back, you WILL need to complete a backflip to land normally in the pool. Be warned, my first Slip N Fly landing was quite a shocker even with a normal pencil dive with my teeth slamming together with a crack and some spinal compression. It wouldn't be legal in the US. So overall, this park is thrilling due to the real possibility of severe injury. read more

This place is FUN! We walked across the border from San Diego and grabbed a cab there. Admission is about $10 (150 pesos). We went on a Saturday in July and it was busy but there still weren't any lines for anything. They have tons of food stalls (the cream filled chorros are amazing). There are plenty of shaded tables for everyone too. They have tons of slides, a huge wave pool, a lazy river, and an area for kids. They also have lockers for your valuables. We left our towels, sunscreen, and clothes on our shaded table all day and no one bothered it. Tip - grab a table near the Slip & Fly and enjoy the view! read more

This is the most fun water park I have ever been to. When I first got there with my group of 8 people around 11am we really liked how the park was clean and a lot of places to sit were available. The first slide I went on I was kinda scared on the way up because it the stairs were really high and seemed kinda wobbly. When I got to the top the life guard working there instructed me on how to position my body while going down the slide so I wouldn't fly in the air (this really scared me but I went down anyway. On the way down I went flying and scraped my elbow on the slide and it started bleeding. It wasn't that bad so I decided to go up on the same slide again. The second time I held on the to ridges of the slide to get a good grip and not go flying again. After that I went to go see the other parts of the water park and noticed that they had a big rope over one of the deep pools where you grab on to the rope like Tarzan, swing over the middle of the pool and let yourself drop. I wanted to go on this one since it looked like fun. When I actually went on it was exhilarating but also terrifying and I made the mistake of not letting go in time and let go a little late. I was ok but when I got out of the pool several people said that it looked like my head had hit the wall when I went in. The lifeguards didn't really seem to care. I when on the red and yellow whirlpool like one, which was really fun sliding down in, but when you fall in the water at the bottom it was freezing cold compared to the other pools. My group got there around 11, and some slides were open but as more people came they opened up more slides. By the time we were leaving around 3 pm, they had opened more slides which I didn't get to ride on. Overall the park was clean, lots of things to do, the food was really cheap, the slides were fun but use them at your own risk. The lifeguards don't really seem to care for your safety, they are just kinda there to control that one person uses the slides at a time. I will definitely be coming here again the next time I'm in Tijuana read more

By far the best water park I have ever been to! I have been to Miami best, San Diego's best and for now on out I will never go anywhere but El Vergel in TJ! The price is great the food is wonderful and you want to bring your own you can for no extra charge they even have grills for you too cook on next to covered patio tables. I brought my 2 and 4 year old and was really worried at first about them not having enough kiddie slides and pools but they had more than my two knew what to do with, they ran all day long we got there at 10 and they did not stop until they closed 5pm. Go! We decided to go here instead of heading to Raging Waters and we didn't regret it, one bit. Price adults pay about $8 and kids pay $6. We got there around 10 am and found a nice shaded table - at no extra cost. We left our things on the table, sandals, sunblock and towels and no one touched it the entire day. We got a locker to put away our wallets and cell phone price is about $3. Best of all water was perfect ( I read a review on here that said "water was ice cold" not for us water was absolutely perfect) & clean and no lines on the slides. I took my daughter who just turned 7 and my nephew who is 9 and they both had a blast - didn't stop the entire day - Including my husband he said he won't ever again go to a water park here in California when he can go here instead. I got a huge michelada for about $3 and I heard someone else bought a six of tecate light for $120 pesos which is about $7. If you get hungry they sell everything there, we ate some bomb tacos, fruit and churros. You can also take in your own food, sodas etc. I don't think they allow you to bring in beer etc. but they have plenty there. They also have an area with grills so you can make your own carne asada .. but if you want to get one of those I recommend being there as soon as they open. If you get on the huge slide "slip n fly" - go backwards, I did it and it was badass lol :) Lifeguards and staff do a great job as well, very attentive. Nothing here in Cali. beats this place. We loved it so much we are going back in 2 weeks with a bunch of friends and family. Place is perfect for all ages. read more

If you like waiting in lines, paying ridiculous sums of money, and feeling completely safe on rides, then this is not the place for you. This easily beats any nearby American water parks and it's only a $10 cab ride from the border. Entrance is 100 pesos (around $7), renting a locker was 50 pesos, inner tube rental is 50 pesos, ice cold Tecates are 20 pesos, and tacos ranged from 12-18 pesos. There are other food options like elotes, tostilocos, pizza, and even sushi. You can also bring in your own food, just not alcohol. Most of the locals took advantage of the grills they have set up and cooked up feasts on the BBQ. The park is huge with tons of seating and shade for picnicking and everyone was respectful of each others' space. The rides are crazy fun and a bit dangerous. A few of us got tossed by the Medusa slide and I'll just say you need to watch out for the landing on that one. There's a big area for kids and plenty of lifeguards to keep an eye out for everyone. The longest line I waited in was maybe 5 minutes and that was not very often. Just when we were thinking it couldn't get much better, a Mexican Beatles tribute band took the stage. So. Much.
