This store has turned into sh*t! This was once a nice store we had the pleasure of shopping at. It now feels like a food for less in the ghetto! As soon as we walked in we noticed paper towels shoved under a broken, leaky display case soaking up the water, smelling like mildew. Trash collected under the racks, in the aisles to the side, the bakery was a sh*t show with crumbs, broken off cookies in the displays, the display glass was covered with funk and greasy finger prints. I understand being on Christmas Day having low quantities of various products but having your store run down looking like a zombie apocalypse just ran through is totally unexceptionable. The young kid being paid minimum wage sweeping the floor obviously doesn't give a sh*t about his job as he walks right by the mess on the shelfs, the trash piled and collected up to the sides out of the center of the aisles, no need to pick up the broken container of dole peaches on the ground someone else will take care of it. Floors are dirty beyond what a simple sweeping would take care of, perhaps a good floor polish would help bring up the grim, dirt, and streak marks that have been there for weeks now! The outside is also a mess, walkway from broadway into the store is covered with tree litter and trash! Baron's in Alpine is a bit further of a drive but certainly well worth it! read more

I come to this Albertsons often and I usually have a great experience. The cashiers are usually friendly or helpful, but today we got literally zero help from NOEL at the cash registers. My boyfriend asked him a simple question (where the big bags of ice were located) and he straight up ignored his question and told him to go to a different worker in the front of the store when he could've pointed to the bags of ice RIGHT behind him. I understand that everyone is busy and has to help other customers, but it's really not hard to stop for 2 seconds to help someone. I work with customers b**ching at me all day everyday, so I understand when you're not in the mood, but treating other people like sh*t and ignoring them isn't the way to communicate with your customers.‍the salmon's bomb tho. read more

I was placing my items on the belt because I was next in line at the register and the cashier Sherry, was telling the man in front of me that the only people who are going to be able to afford groceries nowadays will be the "you know who people" that use up all their tax dollars. The man was just like oh ok yea. Just trying to pay for his groceries and leave while she continued to bad mouth people who receive aid. Saying it was a conspiracy and trying to make the people who "actually work" not be able to afford anything. Once the white man left, I was next in line. Sherry, a blond hair white woman, didn't greet me, didn't ask me anything, didn't acknowledge my existence. Im half white and Mexican, but I have brown hair and an olive skin tone. I can only assume she is racist and I'm just another "you know who person" who will be ruining her day. She didn't tell me the total, so when I saw there was nothing left to scan I just put my WIC card in to pay for some of the groceries. Once that went through, I put in my debit card to pay for the rest of the items. I couldn't believe that that she openly was so rude, it's obvious that she wasn't affected by Covid like some half of the population was. People have lost their jobs and their families, how dare you judge them for needed aid after such a horrible situation they have been through. She doesn't know what I've been through and I do work full time and pay tax dollars. I now have aid because I did have 2 jobs, now I have one and have taken in my family who have lost their parents. It sickens me that Albertsons hires and allows people like Sherry to be the front line workers and make people feel like scum when they walk through. This is a review about the Einsteins inside of the Albertson's more than the grocery store itself. I absolutely love this Einstein's. The gals who work here are top notch and have always made my order perfect. They are always fast but don't skimp on the ingredients. I highly recommend they make you the breakfast egg sandwich with provolone, spinach, and tomato. It is the best way to start my day, and their coffee is always fresh. read more

Many items are price higher here than other grocery stores in the area. I don't know who they think they're fooling when they put items on sale. The shelf tag usually has some ridiculous "regular" price, then a yellow tag stuck on the shelf directly under the regular tag tag screaming "SALE PRICE- you save $XX.xx" which really isn't that great of a deal. read more

Nobody likes rancid guacamole. I didn't find out the guacamole I purchased, to include in Christmas appetizers, was bad until it was served in a holiday bowl and a friend tried it. Disappointing in the extreme considering their guac could be premium because it's made with their quality produce. All that is required not to ruin a batch is simply cutting out the darker portions of the avocado flesh which is normally a range of bright vibrant, even yellow-green with deeper shades of darker green near the skin. Clearly a greater amount of time needs to be taken to ensure all the dark and overripe areas are taken out of the fruit flesh. This is not a singular event. This oversight has occurred multiple times and I keep giving them chances because I'm pretty sure Albertsons goal isn't to create subpar products under the Albertsons Signature label. Regarding pickup, they didn't give me the refrigerated items worth around $25. A lot of things were going on at once in our household, so I ordered pickup for convenience and didn't notice what was missing until later. I put in a complaint but have yet to receive a response or refund. read more

I like my coffee, and I don't mean Starbucks. This store, and it seems most other chain stores, have given most of their coffee space to Starbucks and Peet's and pushed out some of the better brands. The Kauai Coffee, which is my favorite has been pushed out, even though it was usually sold out. So I switched to a few different Kona blends. The problem is, they are now usually sold out as well. Yet if you want some Starbucks, the shelves are full. Apparently who ever orders/stocks the coffee here just assumes everyone wants Starbucks, Peet's or some other French roast rather than paying attention to the empty spaces on the shelf. read more

I have never had a problem here, employees are usually nice, sometimes they are grouchy yes, but as my teenager reminds me, sometimes people have bad days. Prices are higher than some other stores but if you go on the right day some pretty good deals. I just read a review that said everyone who works here is a teenager or middle aged woman, not "any body" (anybody) who looked like a manager, maybe consider a woman could be a manager and you may have more luck. Yesterday I went to the Albertson's off Winter Gardens and they put aside salt and vinegar wings for me. When I got home I realized they were the wrong wings. I have been wanting those wings for a week. So it was a disappointment. Today I call the Albertson's off main and Broadway. I got ahold of Kaylin from the Deli and she made me the wings fresh. I got to Albertson's and the wings had 4 minutes left to cook. I thanked her because I wanted these wings for a week and now I got them fresh. Kaylin's thoughtfulness and customer service made my day. She is a wonderful employee. Thank you Kaylin for making my day!!! read more

While there are a few good deals, most products are way too expensive. If the employees were the least bit friendly, I would probably go more often anyway. Have any of you been approached by the heavy set girl who talks about herself constantly and openly complains about her job (at her job) and makes people feel super uncomfortable/passive aggressively but not very subtly insults shoppers? It's borderline harassment and definitely annoying to approach shoppers -not once, but multiple times per shopping trip. It honestly makes me think twice about shopping at this store. got one of their fresh deli pizzas on special wednesday aug 24. i like the pizzas and have had them before on several occasions- often enough to realize that, this time they really cheaped out on the toppings- especially the meat. less than half the sausage they usually put on them- almost as if the person who made it knew they were going to be marked down $2 for the sale and topped it accordingly. wrong- sale items should be the same quality as the regular-priced items. also- the frozen food is constantly picked over and they are often out of items they should have more stock of. you know- the stuff is FROZEN so an overstock situation doesn't necessarily mean there will be waste. shame on albertson's alpine store staff! when i go to the el cajon store at east main/broadway, i am always amazed at how much better this store is being run. read more

A pretty good store. I like it better than Vons but we do more shopping at Ralphs. They have a good supply and variety of everything you need. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you find what is needed. I have noticed that the prices can be a bit expensive which is the main reason why I don't shop here often. Worst service ever. We went to the meat department to get the filet mignon that was on sale and they told us they didn't have anymore (which is understandable). The problem was when it came to the rain check. We asked the cashier for a rain check on the filet mignon and they told us we have to get a manager to right one up so we asked for one and they didn't come until 20 minutes later. Then the manager told us he cannot do the rain check and it has to go though the store director. So we waited another 20 mins for them and when he came he just walked away from us and went somewhere else. This is the second time we have been ignored and definitely won't be coming back. read more

A tear drops to my cheek as I enter this place. Ok, I have to divulge that I am a food snob in advance and if you have read my review you know that I LOVE Whole Foods. Alright I will give them high marks for friendliness. Every employee that I encountered was very friendly. I was a little disappointed when I went to get a bottle of Moet & Chandon. They were charging $44.99 for a bottle. This bottle has an average price of $32.99 so that was a little ridiculous. I had a little bit of a giggle when I saw the one bottle of Veuve Clicquot. it was some ridiculous price, like $60 (normally about $44) and there was a special that if you bout 6 bottles they would be like $55 each... Since they only had one bottle and it appears to have been there for a while I'm not sure how you can take advantage of that offer. On the plus side they do carry Grapples and I have been wanting to try those FOREVER!!! Ok not really forever, but ever since I saw them on unwrapped on Food Network. The meat selection is not the best, but it's ok. I'm a little bummed about the quality here since it's your basic cookie cutter grocery store, but like I said the people are very friendly and they have an ok selection. I doubt this will be my regular grocery store, but I am glad it is here for convenience. read more

This review is for the bakery department only. I would recommend not calling this bakery to place an order or to ask information on a cake if you can help it (especially in the early morning hours). It's better to just go there and either pick up a cake that is already made or order one in person. This morning a young teenager answered the phone and didn't seem interested in all at with helping me (was too quiet or too rude when she spoke) and wasn't very knowledgeable. Then I asked a question with no reply, I ended up hanging up after five minutes of her not answering me. So I call the other Albertson's Bakery on Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon. Another young girl answers the phone, highly unenthusiastic, I could almost see her giving me the eye roll over the phone. She was hurrying me on the phone, talking fast. She quoted some ridiculous prices too. 34 dollars for a sheet cake with a few plastic men on the top? This cake is for a birthday and I wanted some kind of fishing scene or something. She said they had plastic toy men. Then she said the half sheet would be 27 dollars. Yikes! I think I'll take my business elsewhere! read more

I love to grocery shop here! The service is always on point. They always have exactly what I need. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. It is a little bit expensive sometimes, but most simple items are usually sold for a good price here. One of my favorite parts about albertsons is their guacamole!! I was in Albertsons Saturday the 10th at 6:00am. Had to pick up a few things before heading to beach for bike ride. I went to the bakery where 3 ladies were working really hard, one had lost an earring, and these ladies were absolutely awesome! The lady that lost her earring wasn't only super helpful, she had my laughing so hard by the time I left the bakery. Yes, I ended up buying two bakery items which I didn't go to Albertsons for. I went for Dasani and a couple other things. I looked in Albertsons web site, didn't see anywhere that I could contact Albertsons and let the store know what an awesome hard working crew they have in the bakery early Saturday morning at the East Main St and Broadway in El Cajon location. Our cashier Janice was and rude and unprofessional. Talking about how she cant wait to get off but not going home like we really care. Also she was almost throwing and shoving our groceries towards the bagger to the point where we almost left it there. Then gave us a nasty stare when leaving and said thank you. Generally , We dont go there because a lot of the staff are rude or too busy gossiping damn near putting the milk on top of the eggs. Not to mention some of the other customers act all weird. This is not for Albertsons but the Starbucks inside of Albertsons. I went into Starbucks for their $5.00 grande/pastry special. I specifically asked the young lady about the offer. So when I ordered a small drink and pastry, instead of her having good customer service and recommending a grande drink, she charged me for both pastry and drink separately. I need to add that I ordered a grande and a venti so it was obvious I wanted to do the special. I also watched as the woman after me was told about the special when all she ordered was a drink. Let me start off by saying this is our local Albert sons. We shop at this location on weekly visit. We have always been pleased by the service we receive from the butchers & cashiers. However today was the first time I have attempted to order a cake and cupcakes from the bakery. We usually don't order cakes from here but the Annie in the bakery came so highly recommend I just had to try. BIG MISTAKE!!! From the beginning to the end of our encounter this woman was rude. What she may have in decorating skills she is definitely missing in customer service skills. When I arrived at the bakery counter I was asked if I needed help and I asked the lady if Annie was in.....she pointed to her(back turned to us). She walked over by her, Annie continued to put labels on cakes. When she did turn around she asked if I had been helped. I replied, I was actually refereed to you and would like to speak with you regarding a cake. She then came over got out her order book and said what do you want. She had no interest in looking at the picture I had printed out showing what I want. She doesn't make eye contact, continued to look down and speak at me like she was inconvenienced. My questions were ones I felt of importance but the attitude I received while asking them was unacceptable.......I could go on and on but I wont she already wasted 10 minutes of my time Ill never get back.....Just be warned DO NOT REQUEST ANNIE!! read more

I went in to the store and and was shopping and then went to go check out and my cashier was Suzan and she made a smart ass remark saying why I wasn't bagging the groceries and it pissed us all off because there are supposed to be baggers waiting to bag the groceries and she basically told me to bag them which I thought was sort of rude and the way she said it also pissed us all off so I think you need to hire more baggers to be able to bag the groceries. read more

Great grocery store, they have a large variety of everything I want or need! They have very friendly staff every time I'm there. The deli staff is very helpful, offering samples, great choice of gourmet cheeses and crackers, fresh bakery, full meat market florist, gifts, a large selection of wine and beer and even a large beer cooler and of course, Starbucks while you shop! read more

This store doesn't keep up on their re-stocking very well, and the parking lot is disgusting, and dysfunctional. I have also had to bag my own, FULL shopping cart full of groceries on more than one occasion. Need more staff,& more lines open. read more
