Albertsons generally is an ok store. My beef is with their flowers. I have NEVER purchased flowers from them that lasted more than a few days. After I buy some and see what happens, I stop buying. Then after some time, I'll try again. Will not again. I have purchased many times over the years with the same results and they don't stand by their product so I'm done. read more

I've been buying from this store for a long time. One customer service question I had that had been taken care of before was refused today. The new Manager, Maraya, was not so nice. I inquired about cashing a small Ebates check ($13.00) and she said new system won't allow her to do it. I've taken in these little checks for the past 2 years and have had no problem. The worst customer service in the world. If they arent ignoring you to talk to theres co workers about there work drama and show how unprofessional they are they are lazy. I live 2 minutes away and after a year or more of trying different time of the day to avoid some of the worst people imaginable in the customer service business I will now drive 15 minutes out of my way and bring my business to a location that at least doesn't blast there dirty laundry to everyone in line or ignore u to keep there conversation going. This goes for there management too. I work as a general manager myself and takes a lot to push me to blast a bad review. But you all need to go through training or be replaced. I've been here a few times before because my mom's work is close by but the only thing I really buy here before are the flowers for my grandma's grave. I usually go in the morning around 9 and I must say that their flower selections are good. Last Friday though, 07-07-17, I decided to do my grocery shopping here. First thing I did when I walked in was head to the fruits section. While trying to pick from the selections, I was greeted by the sweet lady and asked if I needed help and struck a conversation with me. She was very nice and helpful, and what I admire is the fact that she is multi tasking restocking the fruits while talking to me. Great for the company because she was not killing time and at the same time trying to make the customers feel at ease. After the fruit section, I went over to the vegetable section when I noticed a few corns in the shelf. I was already in the process of picking when I heard a voice behind me so I turned around. It was one of the employees. He was telling me that if I have time to wait, that he has boxes of more corns that he is going to unpack. He just needed to finish the first box of vegetables that he already opened and started to work on. I was really happy because I have more choices to choose from. I thought he didn't have to that and it was very considerate of him. After that, I went to the seafood section. When I got there, I saw the young lady busy doing her thing that I was afraid I was just going to get ignored. I was wrong, the moment she saw me, she flashed a big smile and asked what she can help me with. When it's time to pay for my goodies, the cashier ended my experience with the same note as the other employees, nice and cheerful. Great customer service by far from a supermarket that I've been to. To be greeted in such a nicely manner by one employee is already rare, but to have 3-4 employees treat me like a rock star is just unbelievable. Good customer service is very hard to find now a days. Albertsons has really found a treasure with these employees. I wish I have gotten their names, but I was really tired that day I guess that it didn't cross my mind. Again, I was here on 07-07-17 between 0920 -0945. The lady that helped me in the fruit section is Latina about 5'5. (she said when she was younger, she ate almost everything and never gained weight) The guy that helped me with the corn is Caucasian, slim and tall. The lady from seafood section is Caucasian early to mid 20's, long hair and the cashier is a middle aged lady with short hair. Great job guys and thanks for an exceptional customer service. This is a review of your customer service. Ever since the law about charging for bags the second we say no thank you when offered to buy a bag immediately the checkers face drops, they stop smiling or making conversation. They practically fling your food and refuse to help or put it in the cart for you. I'm sorry but that attitude is unacceptable! Delia was an example of this tonight. This is a difficult store to review. On balance, we will probably keep shopping here, because it does have selection of things we like, a few really helpful employees (if you know whom to ask what), and sometimes even good prices. But there are some caveats to that endorsement, and they are major enough to warrant a 2-star review: 1) Some items are priced outrageously high. The Ancient Harvest pastas, for example, are $4.69 a box...over twice what you would pay for the exact same product at Sprouts or even Whole Foods. This location does have a nice selection of the Ancient Harvest product line...but why so expensive? Here and there you'll find quite a few products that have a strangely high price - coconut water, for example, or shrimp, or calamata olives - that really have no reason to be. So watch out for that. And of course this especially applies to the gluten free products in the store...though thankfully this Albertsons at least carries a larger-than-average variety. 2) Customer service is a crap shoot. At the deli, you can usually receive exceptional helpfulness with a smile. But wander just a few feet over to the meat counter and you'll be ignored for several minutes, then greeted impatiently, then told gruffly something like "I don't know" in answer to even the simplest questions...and with no effort from the staff to follow up. And we're talking simple questions, folks. Questions like "Is this bacon in your display case cured or uncured?" Or "Can I place a custom order for some organic chicken?" This inability to be helpful applies to all but one person I've interacted with at the meat counter. And the same unevenness exists throughout the store. Sometimes a checkout person will be extremely friendly and helpful, and other times they'll just shrug and say "I just work here," and look down at their hands. Wow. 3) Product variety is okay (better than most Albertsons), and the quality for most things is above average. They even have a small organic produce section that is usually kept stocked, as well as some organic free range raw meat. The only real issue I've had is that many dry goods items aren't stocked by store employees, but by outside vendors, so when things run out, they may be out for several weeks. This happened with some gluten free cookies I had been purchasing at this store. When I asked the store manager about them, he apologized and said that, unfortunately, he had no control over when they would be restocked. An odd business model, but one I seem increasingly to encounter. So, on average, there just isn't an average experience at this Albertsons. Sometimes I've gone into this location and been impressed by the prices, customer service, and availability of goods and services. And sometimes I've left feeling cheated, frustrated by the absence of a regularly stocked item, and rudely or even contemptuously treated. If they could be a little more consistent in creating a friendlier atmosphere at a reasonable cost - and maybe throw in a few more speciality items that I like - I would love to give this store a higher rating. For now, though, I just can't. read more

I started shopping here after the Von's down the street closed and was replaced by a Food For Less. Since the FFL didn't have the same selections I preferred I decided to give Albertson's a try. So far I have been more than satisfied with both the variety and quality of the food and with the friendliness of the employees. read more

Delivery was the worst experience I've ever had. The 4 hour delivery window came and went with no notifications. The customer service representative could not offer any resolution except that sometime today my groceries would be delivered. When they were finally delivered, two hours late, I only received 13 items out of the 44 in my order. Again, I had to call the customer service. No idea what happened or when would the remaining items would be delivered. Buyer BEWARE! Delivery is not worth the headache. read more

Betty and Julie in the Deli department were so kind and prompt. Not only did they take my overzealous order they completed it within the same day! Hours before the event. I had a huge order of Deli meats and deli cheese, fruit, and crackers to feed about 150 people and they knew exactly what to do and how to present the items. I don't usually like to do bad reviews but I feel like I have too since the rudeness keeps happening. They have the rudest people working at the butcher area. The young guy with glasses seems like he hates his job. I asked for some ground beef and he looked annoyed and said there are already pre packaged ones by the meat area. I told him I'd like it from here. After he gave me my meat I smiled and said thank you and he just ignored me turned around and walked away. I'm sorry I made you do your job but I believe that's what you get paid to do. This is the second time I've had an issue with someone working at the butcher area. Thought the first time ok I'll let it go but then came today to get the meat on sale and dealt with someone else and still same rudeness. It's like they are giving me the meat for free and I'm not paying for it. I rather drive to another Albertsons or even Vons even though this one is right down the street from my house. read more

After most of this complaint was sent to their regional and corporate offices, I did not even get a call or email so they have earned this yelp review. As if the scenario below was not bad enough, the tortilla chips I purchased that day were stale already and the salsa was bad in a few days despite being labeled till 1/10/19. This morning, 12/24/18, I had several things on my plate to take care of as my family prepared for Christmas. One of the items included some shopping for some last minute recipes for my wife while she finished her shift at the hospital and I took the day off from my business to pick up some hardware supplies for our house after a plumbing leak. My list was long enough to take care of and I was hoping to shop quickly as I had a couple of hundred dollars of materials in my truck that I did not want to leave long unattended in the parking lot. I had a long list of items and while I found some additional items for Christmas, including some Christmas cards that were even better than the others I had previously chosen as I grabbed a couple more gift cards. I was shocked that my cart disappeared after a few minutes of looking at some cards as I finished my grocery list. I found a perfect card for my wife than I saw another card and a couple additional Outback gift cards, I could not find my cart that was end of the aisle. I knew it was there as I had added a couple Cabo T-shirts that I found on an end-cap for my upcoming vacation to our second home in Hawaii. I asked the flower clerk if someone might have taken my cart and she referred me to register 12. I walked to the register and asked the clerk if a cart had been brought up to him. He asked if the cart at the register was mine and I told him no and then asked if perhaps they were already putting my items away. The cashier paged the employees that were handling the cart returns and in a minute my cart was brought to me less a few items. I find this very interesting for a couple reasons and both of them need to be addressed. I heard the announcement over the stores speakers "Security scan all aisles." I have no idea if the store was watching me as I tried to complete my hectic Christmas shopping and while you are welcome to do that you should know a legitimate shopper shortly after watching them. I will tell you that one of the behaviors to look for is someone taking several of the same items that are expensive, rather than some half and half, cream cheese, shredded cheese, celery, bacon, a leg of lamb (on sale), chips, crackers, gift cards and Christmas cards, gift cards that are useless without activating after payment, mayonnaise, bread, carbonated water, and lettuce. That is someone shopping rather than someone looking to roll a cart out your doors with expensive meats or liquor. I worked in security for years then as an agent for the Department of Justice and I can appreciate trying to control inventory-theft but not at the cost of legitimate customers. Your store policy that had another cart at register 12 needs some serious consideration as they may be writing a similar email to your office. At the very least, why wouldn't you ask down the aisle if this is your cart before assuming the items were about to be stolen. As I looked at my cart, I noted some of the items were missing, like the leg of lamb, the cream cheese, and a pound of bacon. I walked to the butcher and asked for the bacon behind the counter and was appalled that they would tell me it was reported stolen? How could it be stolen when it never left the store or passed the last point of payment and had only been "concealed in plain-sight" in the Albertsons shopping cart with every other grocery item I had looked for and placed in my cart? The situation might be a little more suspicious if I had brought my bags in and been placing the items in my bags rather than a shopping cart I left at the end cap as I looked at cards. I am absolutely appalled that I paid for anything at your store. If I had not had my entire list of items in the cart and been done, I would have gladly left and started shopping at another store. I was able to return the missing items to my cart after a few minutes of shopping, and then stand in an unpleasant line but will never return your store again. I did speak to the manager that was rather dismissive that carts are often emptied as a means to detour theft since the store's theft level is bad. I understand security as I did it for years at Nordstrom's through college before getting hired with the department of justice but this was a large inconvenience for me that will never happen again with any of your stores. I bought a home in Rancho San Diego years ago and while the crime has increased in the area and my wife's Lexus has been broken into on our own driveway, I opted to add cameras while you have opted to chase a customer right out the door forever. read more

Great selection and comparable prices get Albertsons two starts. I went about my business shopping and found everything I was looking for, so I proceeded to the checkout line(s). The first line I stood in with no movement for about three minutes...some issue with a coupon and toothpaste, got it that happens, but it was not moving so I went to a second line. I stood in that line for a few minutes with no movement, hey I have frozen stuff in my cart and it is hot outside...so I move to the third line and decide I better stay...well, no movement here either...just the cashier no help with bagging and she was going slow too. So, I pull up Yelp, call the store and get a person on the phone that when I started to explain what was going on cut me off and said she would get me a manger. A minute later the manger comes on-line, I explain the situation and she told me that they were going through some sort of transition?asked me what line I was in and she would come and help, that was nice enough but, it is not about me, it is about everyone standing around waiting far too long. No one lifted their head up to look at all the lines and shift employees from other tasks to helping move customers through the checkouts. Two employees where standing around at a resister processing returns and joking (thats ok too) but rather annoying when they should have opened up a few more lanes. These stores have cut back on employees so much that they have forgotten that we do not come into grocery stores to wait in line...there are other options...I need paper towels and plates...guess I will just order them on-line today...I am not waiting in line at Albertson's today. read more

I seldom do the grocery shopping, but this is closest to my home. I had occasion to buy 2 packs of sara lee bagels. Two thomas muffins and 1 loaf of rye bread. I was appalled with the $26 total. Albertson's Is way over priced. If you play your cards right you can find good prices but if you don't use coupons and buy what's on sale you will definitely spend way too much money. This store is clean and everyone is friendly. You can usually find almost everything you need here and they have a really wide selection of alcohol that is decently priced. When you are ready to check out the lines are always fast, and they have four self check outs which is nice if you're in a hurry. The staff is really nice and most of the time they know where to find the stuff you can't find. If it was me though, I would just go across the street to Ralph's where it is cheaper. read more

This was a pretty solid Albertsons located in a good location in Spring Valley California. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the efficiency during the holiday season. Oftentimes grocery stores seem to lose their standards when they get overrun by holiday shoppers but I did not see this in this location. I'll probably show up here next time I'm in town. read more

The service here is always amazing! The employees are amazingly helpful, friendly, and efficient. The employees, no matter what age, provide impeccable service every time. The fried chicken, potato wedges, and coleslaw are great (waaay cheaper than KFC, which is in the same shopping area), and the bakery's goods are DELICIOUS! Probably the place I always end up getting my groceries from. I would give this place 5 stars if they had boar's head. The employees here are really nice, especially compares to vons and ralphs. The only reason I go to Ralphs is for Boars head. But albertsons has a cleaner and more organized store. You don't need to put your number to get the discount either which is cool. read more

The store is organized and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are high. The produce is very expensive even though they sometime show to be on sale. If you're looking for an item on the shelf it may be marked with a tag that has been moved or in a different place which looks like the item you're buying is the sale item. If you watch the sale items you will be saving money but if it's not on sale it will be more expensive than the competition. The location in Rancho San Diego is very convenient for me so I will continue to shop there but be very price conscious. read more

We've shopped here on and off as a family for the past two and a half years. The staff is polite and helpful, they work well as a team. Even with small sometimes noisy and messy children we have always had good experiences. They stock fresh produce, meats and baked goods alike. I go to this Albertsons weekly. The one around the corner from my apartment just isn't big enough (and they never have my jugs of Arizona Tea (Raspberry). I was there last weekend. I usually try to get 4 jugs for the week. They only had 3. I brought this up to the cashier (Mo) and guess who was in the front? Their inventory manager. I explained the situation to him. It seems no one gets jugs of sweet tea, mucho mango, Arnold Palmer, lemon, just raspberry. I suggested they get minimal amounts of the other flavors, and order more raspberry tea, as the raspberry tea is usually the first to go. Well, I did my usual weekly shopping yesterday, 3/2/19, and there was a fully stocked 2 columns of raspberry tea, and 12 more jugs on the end cap. My checkout was a breeze. Julie was awesome. We shop here for basic groceries. Good selections, clean store... My only complaint is the costumer service. There was a young woman sweeping up the produce section, and I had to squeeze by. Instead of letting me by, she kept sweeping. Once I was able to pass, she scoffed at me loudly. I spun around to see her shaking her head at me with a pretty creepy smile on her face. I felt badly for making her angry, but it definitely made my shopping experience uncomfortable. read more

I can't say enough about Geri in the bakery and the decorator Tunchy. Albertson's is always my first stop for cakes. They have a wonderful selection of all types at reasonable prices. I dropped by late in the day on a Saturday. We were having an impromptu family celebration for a recent college graduate who had just come back to town. I wasn't sure what I wanted and how I wanted it to look. Geri listened to me, showed me what could be done, and offered suggestions. The next day when I picked the cake up I was blown away. The decorations and colors were perfect. It tasted awesome also. If you are looking for great service and selection at reasonable prices give Albertson's bakery a try and make sure you ask for Geri! read more

I usually don't shop at Albertsons, but they were running a sale on their salad mixes that I received in the mail. Great deal! However, when I came up to the register to pay there was an employee in front of me and another customer in front of her. There was confusion at the register on who was going to take the next customer. The customer asked the employee behind her which line she wanted and the employee put her hands up at the customer and rudely said "How am I suppose to know what line your going to" the customer went to 1 line and the employee went to another line, where she rudely talked about the customer to another employee and threw her food on the register. Terrible customer service. I could not believe what I was seeing, watching 2 employees talking bad about the customer in the line across from them, when the customer did nothing wrong but ask the employee which line she wanted. Completely unacceptable behavior, resulting in my decision to never return. read more

What's going on at Albertson's in Rancho San Diego. All the old checkers are gone and there nothing but very young untrained,unprofessional kids working there. Do they even train the baggers anymore? I had my bags open in the cart and the bagger put all my groceries in the basket and not in my bags because he was so busy talking to the checker.The next time the bagger and checker were talking so much he put my bananas with the ice. when there's not a bagger the checker just stands there waiting for me to bag my stuff.and the Just for U seems to not be working all the time. I never have any problems at any other Albertson's. We are switching back to Ralphs. I used to enjoy shopping at this Albertson's. my husband has had lots of problems also. I noticed that on the first of month and Friday before the Super Bowl the store was almost empty.
