This place has really good drinks that I like especially the misugaru latte. But...one of the girls behind the bar was rude, yelled at me today when I asked what the restroom code was. While the coffee was undeniably delicious, it's the experience--and how it made me feel--that will linger... I ordered a pour-over to enjoy in-house. When I went to pick it up, I grabbed a saucer to avoid spilling on my way back to my seat. Before I could even walk away, one of the baristas snatched it from my hand and said, "You're not allowed to use that. The saucers go with the latte mugs!" I paused, glanced at the empty café behind me, and replied, "There are plenty available--surely I can use one." He continued, in a dismissive tone, speaking to me in a way that felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I chose to walk away and still enjoy my pour-over. But it's not just about serving good coffee. As Maya Angelou reminds us, people will always remember how you made them feel. And in this space, I felt unwelcome. Searched for coffee shop while in the area and am so happy we tried it. There is valet in the small shopping center if you don't want to struggle with finding parking. Tends to be busy but there is plenty of dining space inside. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. We tried the Iced Tiramisu Latte, Iced Creme Brulee Latte, Iced Latte, The coffee was soo good, we ended up going back to get another for the drive home. one my best friends was visiting LA and she decided on this place for brunch, I had actually never heard of it so I said let's go!! firstly, parking is terrible but that's normal for k town. we had already parked in a residential area and walked 10 minutes to get here lol. but the inside of the place was surprisingly spacious! I didn't think it would have a lot of tables and chairs but it does, as well as a restroom in the back. lots of stuff to choose from on the menu, but we just got food, I got the Focaccia Prosciutto Cloud and she got the Avocado Croast. both were super delicious we were so happy!! but I really loved the toppings on my focaccia one. only thing is it took a long time for my order to come out. We're regulars, and about half the time we ask for no ice since we moved a bit farther away and don't want it getting watered down on the way home. I usually go to Alchemist's other location but when at Lee Ga, this is the perfect coffee shop. They have a small parking lot with a valet per the usual situation of strip mall spots in Koreatown. It's a cute shop when inside, actually I would call it unexpected. I thought it would be standard strip mall coffee shop but it actually is very warm & inviting with a darker type of vibe. Staff is always super nice and welcoming when I pop in! Most importantly, the cold brew here is solid! I can always count on quality in my beans at Alchemist and I will absolutely be back again & again^^~ read more

I think this might be my favorite location for Alchemist as far as interior vibe. It's cozy and it'd be a great place to study read a book or work. Coffee was top notch as well. Loved this location because it had lots of seating options inside. They even had some vegan pastries which is always a bonus for me. Unfortunately I did feel the avocado toast was a little too salty but I enjoyed my latte and vegan chocolate chip cookie. Staff was friendly from what I can recall so no notables issues there. Cute coffee spot inside busy little Ktown plaza. I went on a Tuesday around noon and a lot of people there hanging out with computers so there weren't too many spots left to sit. I LOVE The Alchemist Coffee project. It has such calming and welcoming vibes. They have a lovely display of pastries that are beautifully presented, and the menu is set up so you can read it as you wait to order. The team here is wonderful; they always welcome you with a smile. Most of their signature drinks are iced, but they do offer a Spanish latte with a lovely taste of cinnamon. It's on the sweeter side, so you can ask them to adjust the sweetness if you prefer. I really appreciate the tables, lighting, and music, which make it a perfect spot if you decide to stay and work. Went out of my way to get to KTown today as I head north on the 5. When I went to Korea recently I was enamored by their cafe culture. They do it so well there! So, I couldn't help myself by coming to KTown for a bit of memory refreshment. KTown is SO LA but with Korea in America vibes. Of course! Haha! But, I get excited coming here to try to get "close" to what I experienced there. The Alchemist definitely vibed a bit for me. I definitely need to keep experiencing these adventures but I will say the iced Spanish Latte and Iced Peach Peony tea I got are both fantastic! I didn't see any "real food for a meal" offerings but they had some really nice gourmet baked goods, macaron's, and a few dessert. I get a little picky so nothing screamed at me but everything was respectably cool! I'll come back but I definitely want to try more places. I miss Korea so little reminders of it (Korea in America) will go a long way! read more

My main irk with this place is that you're paying $6-7+ for a small drink...whether or not you get coffee or matcha, they taste great. Just remember the portion not being like this. If you come here to study/work, it may be worth it for the ambiance, but to me it felt more of a grab and go spot. Parking is street parking if you are lucky and if not then valet parking. Was staying in the area for a couple of days and we were able to walk to this cute little shop. Fun decorations inside very like steampunk in a way but for coffee. Service was goods My friends enjoy their coffees, so I'm not sure what they were drinking, I think they got the same the next day . The first day I had the tiramisu drink, and it was quite delightful, more dessert than it was coffee, but it was still very good . The second day I had a brown sugar latte, and it was good . The ham and cheese croissant was so incredibly flaky. I got a second day in a row. . We tried the honey cake and it's very nostalgic and reminds me of a moon pie, and I can't stop thinking about it. It was my first time stopping by at Alchemist Coffee Project even though it's so close to my house. The lavender matcha latte was great, very fragrant with lavender. Great place to hangout or workout of. I literally spent hours at the location doing work. Free WIFI. It can get packed in there. Baristas are friendly and quick. Over my time there, I've had two Americanos both consistent and good, coffee cake and avocado & bacon croissant sandwich. I love how they service on dishes and mugs if you are eating in. The Crème Brûlée Iced Latte (only comes as iced) but this drink has to be one of the most well prepared drink as the sweetness of the Crème Brûlée does not over power the coffee, and neither does the coffee over power the crème brûlée,served with a great cold foam and a caramelized sugar on top. The Mexican Latte comes with two shots, a dash of condensed milk, your choice of milk and cinnamon. Perfect for a rainy day or cold morning. The everything bagel tastes lovely as it is warmed up perfectly toasted on the outside and soft of the inside with a creamy cream cheese. To top it off the New York cheesecake is also great as it melts in your mouth and served with crumbled almonds. Friendly Staff, work is efficient as they have a sense of urgency while also crafting perfection. I've been to this location a few times. I always tell myself I'm going to try something different next time, and by the time I go again, I forgot what I ordered.... and I end up ordering my usual iced latte. It's not until after I sit down that I see everyone order a matcha and I remember THAT'S what I was supposed to order. But this place is spacious and there's different people working on laptops, reading, or just catching up. Despite the number of people there, the noise level is pretty low, which helps it feel less busy. They have plenty of seating, but people tend to prefer the tables versus the big community bar seating in the middle of the place. Their menu offers drinks, pastries, and some light bites. As mentioned, I went with my usual iced latte. It was good but I wish I had remembered to give their matcha a try. Given the frequency I saw it ordered, that must be the drink to buy. Next time!! There is a parking lot and depending on the time, it can be self parking or valet. I think valet is $3 but I'm not sure if it's more on weekends or nights. I've come 2x to try the drinks because I've heard good reviews , and I will say the drinks hold up to the reviews. My boyfriend and I tried the iced chai latte & it's one of our top chai options. It's so good and flavorful and really satisfies our craving. Also tried the tiramisu latte & I must say it's my FAVORITE latte ! The coffee strength is perfect , the sweetness is perfect , and for what it's worth, I have no complaints! On both occasions I was attended very quickly, despite the customers in house. As for the setting, it's a nice little cafe to go sit down and relax, study or to go enjoy a nice drink with some friends. I will definitely be coming back to try more drinks ! read more
