Oh. My. Word. Shame on me for sleeping on this place!!! And if you haven't been: put it on your to do list for the week! The decor inside ALONE should get you in here. It's so beautiful, so cozy. The music is perfect for just relaxing or meeting up with a loved one or studying or getting work done. There are so many cozy spots and a variety of sitting arrangements and options - comfy chairs, sofas, low tables, tables and chairs, high top tables, etc. I had a delicious pastry with cream cheese icing and a cinnamon crumble that was just to die for. I could have eaten five of these I think! (And they're huge so that's saying something!!!) So delightful. What brought me in was the Honey Cardamom Oat Latte (thank you ChampionSip: Iced Coffee for the heads up) and AHHHHH!!! It's PERFECTION. Absolutely a coffee lovers summer dream. While I loved this place ever since they opened, they've made some recent changes that I haven't loved. Their breakfast plate now had mozzarella cheese instead of feta, and hummus instead of honey. Their pita bread had something on it that looked like mold but apparently were just stains from the oven. It felt like the AC was broken but they said it was from their hot kitchen since they've added many menu items since they opened. It just felt muggy and hot, so we ate our food & left quickly. I love the people who serve and visit there, but their service is a bit slower and you do have to expect to be there for a while when you do go. It's a great cultural experience for sure, and I highly recommend this place, just not in the summer apparently! read more

Beautiful cafe and excellent customer service! Best smoothies I've ever had in my life!

I usually do not write reviews about people in the service industry. Today I made an online order purchasing something that was not available. They had not updated that on the website. I was not notified until I got there and decided to get something else. Which I did not mind. I then proceeded to wait 15 minutes for them to complete the order which I did not mind. However I forgot to ask if they had put regular or oat milk in my order. It did not cross my mind since on the online order I specifically put oat milk. I called after leaving the cafe because when I took a sip of my drink something did not taste right. I tried calling later on again and they finally answered confirming that the drink did in fact have regular milk. I believe they need to be more careful in the way they handle future costumers. I will say the cafe is quite cute but my experience was not the best. read more

Stopped in after seeing this place on TikTok. I got the Yemeni Coffee and my companion got a mojito smoothie. We also got a slice of chocolate cake. Service was polite and the barista explained every question asked. The inside space is beautifully decorated and even has games like Jenga, blocks and cards to entice you to hang out. Food review: Yemeni coffee was lava hot but after cooling down I found it has a lovely nutty flavor! Mojito refresher was delicious! Cake was moist and delicious! 10/10 will be back! read more

Truly a hidden gem. Nestled in a strip mall next to Harbor Freight, this wonderful cafe has an unassuming store front. But, stepping inside transcends you to a new place with a luxurious feel. The dim lighting and open floor plan instantly relaxes you. The coffee flavor is uniquely, but pleasantly, robust. The employees were friendly and helpful. I chose this place to work with my team today. It's so cute inside and everything I had was fantastic. I had an iced pistachio latte with oatmilk (best latte I've had in a while)!! I saw this cute little cafe pop up in my feed and decided to give it a try when catching up with a friend for coffee. When I got there, it was just the two of us, and we had the place to ourselves for quite a while. It's designed beautifully and is perfectly tucked away, quite unassuming if you don't know it's there. My friend and I both had a stuffed date, peanut butter for her and mixed nuts for myself. I opted for the Qishr with honey and my friend got the Yemeni latte. The only drawback is there aren't any gluten free options and limited dairy free. I'm not counting that against them...it's not their fault my body has gotten old and started revolting against the things I love the most. They do have oat milk but advised that it would change the taste of their signature coffees. The food looked absolutely delicious and I have no doubt that it tastes amazing. Our server was kind, patient, and informative in helping us to navigate the menu. We sat and chatted and the server brought out orders out to us in chic glass mugs on a gold marbled tray. It was unexpected but on par with the impeccable service that I'd heard about. It will definitely go back and bring hubby back to try it out! read more

This local coffee shop is on Summer Avenue. I saw it a couple months ago and wanted to visit and check it out. My friend and I decided to go and have Bible study there yesterday. The place is decorated very nicely with lights, tables, chairs, and sofas. It's very clean and, modern looking. It was very quiet when we were there and others came to buy coffee and desserts. There are games for kids to play with on a shelf. They serve an Arabic breakfast, many types of coffee, desserts, date concoctions which is made in house. There were smoothies and lattes. Another couple ordered tea and the teapot was so pretty and elegant. My coffee had spices in it that made it taste differently but in a good way. Our cake we split was very good and not that sweet. It was perfect! Shout out to our server, Mohammad, because he was so friendly and help us with the menu and which coffees to order. This place is great for working, studying or just relaxing. They serve a very authentic Ethiopian coffee! Please come and support them. They need more people to come check them out. You won't be disappointed! read more

Not sure if Saturday around 10 am is normally a busy time but this Saturday it was and definitely not the time to have someone new up front by themselves. Aldar Cafe is a gem. It seems to be new in Memphis, and I'm here for it. The decoration, the music, the tidiness, and spacious floor is a home run. Most importantly, the coffee is outstanding. I enjoyed their Turkish Coffee! Actually, I was super hyped to see this on the menu and it didn't disappoint. Served hot and with some vigor--absolutely amazing. The iced shaken espresso was also superbly delicious with a hint of cinnamon. They have pastries as well such as cheese danishes which paired well with the coffee. Whether you are a coffee aficionado or a coffee newbie, this is a must-try! They opened recently and are currently hosting coffee tastings every Saturday and Sunday, at 11 AM and 3 PM. At the tasting, you get to try 5 versions of their coffee, as well as some pastries. The owner also educates you about Yemeni coffee. I highly recommend booking this experience first if you are curious about their products. If you're ready to buy a drink, they make an amazing mocha latte! this place is amazing. everything they have. my only complaint is that they only have one size of drinks and they're not that big so i always finish them pretty fast and want more. service is nice, ambiance, FANTASTIC!! i genuinely love the way it looks in there it's so cozy and they have long couch bench things that are extremely comfy. it is truly a nice cozy experience if you choose to enjoy what you get in the cafe. read more

The ambiance as soon as you walk in is calming and serene. Definitely not a place for loud work meetings. Someone came in with a church meeting which was a little odd but I think maybe just be a little bit more respectful to the culture if you're going to do that. It's a small private and quaint oasis off of Summer Ave. Very respectable men who run this coffee shop who are extremely patient and kind. A ton of diversity if you're not looking for a plain jane coffee joint. The baklava was fresh I also had a berry and cheese danish that was bigger than my hand, paired with a classic Yemeni coffee.
