Really awesome customer serive. There was a festival when I was visiting and the staff was kind enough to give me an extra large drink and free box of cookies for no extra cost. The ube horchata is really good. The ube is natural and not overly sweet. The salilvina taste really great as well. It's not overly sweet. For a local owned filipino shop, this is one of the best customer service I've seen in the area. Everyone was super nice helping me out what to get/order. I'm only reviewing this for the Ube Flan Cake. The ube cake was dry and the flan is not made by egg yolks only. I can tell because of the texture of the flan. I was looking for a bakery and found this place by chance. I decided to go here because I've never seen another bakery use Ube in so many different desserts and drinks. I ordered food too (Filipino spaghetti, Adobo Omelette Fried rice, and Tocino Fried rice) because it all looked delicious and it was! She suggested a drink so I got the Ube cream cold brew and my only complaint is it doesn't come in a large, it was so good. If you're ever in Pittsburg or other nearby cities, please come by. The young lady that helped me was so nice and helpful! You walk up and order at a window, so there's no indoor or outdoor seating, but the food, desserts, and drinks are worth it. I was traveling back home to Socal and had a strong craving for Filipino food. Went on Yelp and saw this place just opened so I thought I'd give it a try. The Chicken Inasal is delicious and the portion is generous! The chicken was juicy, moist, and tasted classically of calamansi, vinegar, and garlic. Make sure to take a bite of atsara in between. My favorite part is the skin because it has charred bits from the grill. The Ube Horchata here is by far the most unique I've tasted. It had the warmness of cinnamon and tasted like fresh rice milk with cacao. Here in Socal, most places make ube horchata with rice milk, cinnamon, and ube extract and this place goes beyond that-- you can really taste it. OVERALL: What a pleasant restaurant to stumble upon. I have wanted to try this place for a while now. I got my chance when my brother in law came over one day and he decided to order lunch from Aldas. I ordered the Arroz Caldo and a Silvana. Two things that I'm not able to get just anywhere, so I figured I might as well. The Arroz Caldo was really good! It was just like as if I made it at home. This is the closest that I have had that tastes just as good without me needing to cook. I've had it other places and have been disappointed. So, I have checked back since then, and maybe I'm checking on the wrong days, but I haven't seen it on the menu. Please don't say that it's gone! I also ordered an Ube silvana and it did not disappoint. I shared it with the kids, and they really liked it. Will definitely get more next time. I will add that this is a to-go only place. The adobo fried rice has actual chicken adobo in it contrary to other FilAm restaurants that use seasoning packets. Also ordered the lechon kawali with omelette fried rice. I really love how the food made me feel seen as a Filipino American. Some items on the menu reminded me of comfort meals I grew up making bec there was "always food at home" so we upcycled our leftovers. So when we pass by Stockton, this place was always closed. It was open this time, we called to make sure and we ordered. You can pre-order online or order at a window, similar to when a gasoline station closes, you gotta order and pay through a window. That time it was a freezing night while it was raining. It took about 20 minutes for our orders to be ready. You sit and wait in your car and then come back to the window. I liked the flan because it was not too sweet, you can tell they used egg whites which is non-traditional for me but I still like it, it makes it more airy and not too sweet. Traditional way is only egg yolks but people started experimenting with adding egg whites, it saves money to add the egg whites. The tocino fried rice was good, I put hot sauce on it. We liked the ube canolis, I like the crispy shell, the filling was ok. The ube cheese cake was ok, it tasted more cheesey than ube flavor to me. What we didn't like and couldn't drink was the Ube Horchata, way too chalky similar to a lot of whey protein powder shakes. The ube flavors are ok. I grew up making ube kalamay with my family, it takes about 7-8 hour process. Other people who don't know ube, this is ok. Ube flavor is a new thing I think, they have condence milk flavored ube and ube powders now. The only ube that my mom will eat is the ones they sell at Vallero's in Daly City. read more
