I've been meaning to try this place, so I finally did today. I got a Large Poke Bowl that consisted of White rice, mixed veggies, grilled chicken, umami sauce, spicy mayo, fried garlic, fried onions, seaweed salad, imitation crab meat, pickled ginger, and sesame seeds, with a bottled Diet Dr.Pepper. The rice was cooked well, veggies were fresh, chicken was flavorful, and all the other toppings and sauce all worked well together. It was a world of flavors combined. The ONLY drawback that held me from giving Banh Mi Express a 5 star was the portion to price ratio. As stated earlier, I ordered a large, in which was a typical "meal prep" container. If that was the large, it made me think how small the regular size was. And to think it was basically $20 for a bowl -- thankfully it was delicious! I will definitely be coming back -- and I MUST try their sandwiches. I'm usually a sucker for Banh mi's. read more

I've been getting sandwiches from them since they opened, but this is the first time ordering the Combo Banh Mi w/Fried Egg. OMGEE! It is the best sandwich in the lineup! It is light and so flavorful! I was sad I had to give half of it to my hubby, so he can try it. I'll definitely be getting that sandwich moving forward. I'm not much of a sandwich person I'm more of a rice bowl type. But a Banh Mi sandwich satisfies my tummy. I ordered the Chicken and the BBQ pork Banh Mi. It's not just what's inside the sandwich but it's the bread itself. It is crispy when you bite into it but nice and warm inside. I don't really like pickled anything but the veggies they add in the sandwich I believe is pickled and I love it. It just goes with the meat in the sandwich. When we came we dined in. There's only a few tables inside. It wasn't busy so our food came in less than 10 minutes. There's plenty of parking spots as this is located in a shopping center. Consistency is a must for the survival of any establishment. I Bought 4 bowls for the family and the portions (of each bowl) were literally half of what we normally get. $22 for a partially filled bowl with imitation crab to boot! I'm cool. It only takes one time for me. I'm not rich and can take my hard earned money elsewhere for a meal. The menu is a little confusing and they have different things posted around the restaurant that seem to be additional items you can order. The poke was good. My wife and daughter both enjoyed their poke bowls. My banh mi was decent. The bread was a bit too crunchy for my taste, but the meat had good flavor. I would have like more pickle flavor in the veggies and it was missing pate. I had heard good things, so maybe my expectations were different, or it was a slightly off day. Sorely disappointed with our to go pho order. I've had the rib eye pho a couple years back when they first started offering it and thought it was pretty darn good. Today, I called in an order and asked if they had chicken pho. My bf is under the weather and this sounded perfect. I was told they did (in broken English) and I ordered one rib eye pho, one chicken pho. I get home, open my order, and the chicken pho is a container of beef broth with a baggie of grilled chicken that's probably used for the banh mi sandwiches. That is 100% not chicken pho! What if we were customers that couldn't/didn't eat beef? The rib eye was even worse: inedible, really tough pieces of meat. I doubt it was rib eye, or if it was it was, it was extremely poor quality. I couldn't swallow any of it, it was so tough. I'll give credit where credit is due: the beef broth was good and so were the fresh veggies and pho noodles. I have been ordering from this place for a while so this review is overdue. I usually get the raw poke bowl - salmon, tuna, spicy tuna with fresh greens and zucchini noddles. Absolutely wonderful and tastes fresh. My son adds octopus to his poke and he loved it! We also get the rare beef pho, grilled pork plate and pork banhmi. Everything here is delicious and the flavor of food is consistent. There is a small seating area inside which is always clean and neat. Banh Mi sandwiches are my favorite. This used to be my go to spot. Unfortunately, they have gone really down hill the last few times the bread was stale and dried out and non edible. Parking is horrible here... I had to park three stores down and walk back to this restraunt. No biggie for me but if you have a problem walking this is not be the restraunt you want to visit. If it had fresh bread it would have been a solid 9. The coconut milk tea was delicious! 10 out of 10. Unfortunately due to parking being a challenge, no available restrooms and old bread I would say overall the score is a 7 out of 10. Yelp reviews have 5 stars available, by my calculations this is equal to 2 points for each star. There are no half star options so I must round down to the 3 stars. They have labubu shaped jellies that were so good I had to buy a whole tray I can tell how much hard work were put into these, I'm surprised how well priced they are!
