16oz vanilla raspberry iced latte and a blueberry muffin
    Justine W.

I was in the area and saw this coffee shop while driving by. I stopped in on a Sunday around 2p and I was taken care of immediately. This is an establishment where you order and pay at the counter, then are served if you choose to dine-in. It definitely has a small town diner vibe where you know they have their daily regulars. They have a whole case of homemade baked goods, a small breakfast and lunch menu, and a number of coffee options. I got a 16oz vanilla raspberry iced latte, a blueberry muffin, and a pumpkin shaped sugar cookie and paid $14 and some change. Everything was delicious. The service I got was great. I have no complaints. Stop in if you're in the Alden area.

I wasn't totally impressed. They have great options and a lot of them but I do think their sandwiches are a bit overpriced considering the size. I was expecting a bigger role but it seemed between the size of a slider and a burger. They used to not be great with allergies (nuts in the front of the cases) so I haven't had their baked goods in a while. The workers seemed really nice and were helpful.

The best pastry I've ever had.

I was driving in the area and a very large, bright blue sign caught my eye that said "GELATO!". It was 90 degrees today so naturally I had to stop to get some! My fat, pregnant heart was broken when I walked in and asked about their flavors and they told me they actually don't have any gelato. But but but you have a sign... I bought a pastry instead. One of those home-made toaster strudel things with the strawberry and cream cheese filling... And it will go down in history as the best pastry I've ever eaten. I also got a pastry heart with buttercream and that was equally as delicious. $3 per pastry is a little steep for my wallet but whenever I'm in the need to curb my sweet tooth, I would go back. Just get rid of that darn Gelato sign!

Contemporary style adorable family ran bakery/ cafe located in the heart of Alden. My mom and I decided to take a ride to check out this cute, warm, cozy cafe. This used to be an old deli that was converted, and recently opened this past July during the pandemic. The cafe is clean, staff is welcoming and appreciative for your business. They even offer vegan, gluten free options, everything homemade : soups, salads, artisan sandwiches, baked goods, latte, iced drinks, expresso, Gelato. Something for everyone's taste buds. Local businesses are vitally important during covid pandemic. The owner even came up with a pay it forward board. My mom & I both took part; what a rewarding creative, thoughtful idea.

This little cafe is so cute and I wish I lived close by to walk here everyday! They had a lot of baked goods to choose from, the breakfast sandwiches were delicious and the staff was very friendly. They had hot beverages but also smoothies which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this to any locals if you are in the mood for a sweet treat!

Stopped in here on a chilly Sunday afternoon. Pastries were 2 for $5 which I though was an awesome deal considering how huge their snickerdoodles and cinnamon buns are! I got the pumpkin pancakes and the Mummy Latte - both were pretty sweet for my taste but delicious. My friend enjoyed the meatball sliders - she commented that they were juicy and flavorful. Very cute place to stop and reasonable prices. Blueberry scone is a MUST!

The sign in front, very cute logo

This restaurant could be in Manhattan or downtown Chicago it reminds me of the little bistros you would find on the side streets in the city not in a little town like Alden. I was blown away by the quality of the food and quite frankly the whole atmosphere of the place I highly recommend

The Vegan Outskirt; they also veganized their sausage hoagie special for my mom!! Delicious

I was greeted at the door by the bestest boy/doggo named Teddy and someone who I assumed was one of the owners. The shop is very cute, lots of gnomes, rubber ducks, and fun quotes showcasing the owners' sense of humor. The owner was actually very helpful and gave me tips on how to best enjoy my baked goods. I got ten items for a very reasonable price! Sweet roll: one of their popular items. A roll with warm sugar and cinnamon on the inside and gooey frosting on top, but I can see why they don't advertise it as a cinnamon roll. It doesn't smack you in the face with that cinnamon flavor, but has all the other good parts of the roll. Blueberry muffin: not too sweet and chock full of blueberries and streusel topping! Turnovers: I wasn't a fan of the icing sugar topping, but the puff pastry was light and flaky. I'm sure if I was home and was able to pop it in the oven it would have been amazing! Cupcakes: this was a surprising gem for me. I generally find cupcakes and their frosting to be too sweet, but the actual cake was light on the sugar and balanced well with the buttercream. The cake felt a little dry, but my cupcake was chocolate flavored and sometimes that has an innate dryness to it. I looked online, and they actually have a crazy amount of cool flavors! I would love to come back to try more flavors. All in all, a very pleasant experience, if you're in Corfu you should definitely stop by :)

Between the two of us, we ended up ordering an iced latte, a molasses cookie, a peanut butter brownie and a chocolate almond pretzel pastry. The iced latte had a goodix of milk and espresso. The molasses cookie was perfectly soft yet chewy and had a great molasses flavor along with ginger and cinnamon. The peanut butter brownie was chewy and had a good amount of peanut butter buttercream frosting topping it. I ate the chocolate almond pretzel pastry at a later time and heated it in the air fryer for a few minutes. It was flaky, buttery and flavorful. I would definitely recommend Buttercrumbs & will return if I'm in the area.

I arrived at about 11:30am on a Sunday, parked on the street (parking…read morelimited), there were only a couple people in line before me, a few couples sitting down, maybe about eight small tables for optional seating but the place is very small, cozy feel. There were only three cinnamon rolls left... I was going to buy all three but then I overheard the little girl behind me say she wanted one so I only ordered two. Try a cinnamon roll, they're so yummy, cost about $5.75, a 16oz house coffee was $3.75. I ordered the two cinnamon rolls, a piece of a carrot cake (WOW), slice of a pumpkin roll and a large chocolate chip cookie. All equally delicious in their own right! They were packaged to go in a large cake box for me, which I appreciate so nothing got squished during the ride back home. In total I spent $29.50 and didn't feel bad about it, I needed some sugar in my life that was worth eating, I try not to eat carbs anymore as a personal diet preference and I feel amazing but if you're going to eat them, let them be worth every bite so you don't regret it. Anyway, I love this spot. I did attempt to chat it up with the woman taking my order, she was very nice.

I supported them constantly…read more They have wonderful gluten free baked goods, as well as great breakfast sandwiches with a gluten free roll, if one so chooses. I will discuss three different run ins with Gabrielle's. First one - I went there in January to grab some sweets for a little crafting party I was hosting. I ordered both gluten free items and non gluten free items. The woman working, who was new, proceeds to ask me if she can put the non gf and the gf in one container. I said absolutely not. How can you not be trained on this, or not know not to do that. Why would I be ordering gf items, if I'm going to agree to put them in the same container. It defeats the purpose. Second time - Valentine's Day. My husband and I had a tradition of going to support Gabrielle's on Valentine's Day because they offered different gf items and a romantic atmosphere. This was our third time attending since living in the village. We arrived right when they opened, and they weren't opened yet, which was fine. When the owner unlocked the door, she wasn't very friendly. I let it slide, and continued to choose to visit Gabrielle's because I loved the baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. Third time - I stopped in on my way to an event to get a breakfast sandwich. It was about 10 minutes after they opened on a Saturday. It was quite busy there. There were roughly 2 or 3 tables occupied throughout my half hour stay.  Most notably there was a mom and daughter there. I'll get back to that in a minute. When I arrived, I was the only one at the counter. The same girl from the first not great encounter was making coffee behind the counter. That is fine. What wasn't fine, was that she didn't acknowledge me at all and I waited there awkwardly to put my order in for a good 5 minutes. Weird, that you wouldn't say, "Hi, it will just be a minute, as I'm working on another order,"  or something like that. The owner also came out of the kitchen during this time and took several Door Dash orders, but also didn't acknowledge me standing there. All I needed was a Hi, I'll be right with you. Something. I felt like a ghost. Fast forward, woman takes my order. It is for a gluten free breakfast sandwich. I sit down and wait. I wait for a solid half hour for my breakfast sandwich to be complete. During this time, the mother and daughter duo go up to the counter and say that they told the woman when they ordered that they needed to get everything by 9am, and it was 9am, and they still hadn't gotten their sandwiches yet. Why does it take a half hour to make 2 breakfast sandwiches?! They finally get their order and leave. The woman goes from the kitchen to the counter and is yelling to the owner, "If they wanted their food faster, they should have went to Tim Hortons." There was me and about 2 other tables present for that. I thought that statement was absolutely horrific and disgusting. Everyone who came through Gabrielle's and who goes to Gabriele's chooses to spend their money locally. To help a local family and support their business. To say that in front of customers, is abhorrent. I finally got my breakfast sandwich and left. I ruminated this for a while and decided against posting this review and emailing them directly about how this comment was unwarranted and not ok and the employee should be reprimanded. I received no reply back. This happened in February and it is now May. I have not received any acknowledgement regarding that my comment was received. I can only take it as the owner and employees don't care. Thus, I'm posting my review.   Not to mention that they claim to sell fresh bread on Saturdays, and there were a couple customers who arrived asking to purchase the fresh bread, and were told it was still rising and would be ready around 1 pm or so. What?! You would think they would be more in a hurry to get their bread out on a Saturday morning. That is when people want to eat fresh bread. It breaks my heart that I can't support this business anymore because the baked goods are so delicious, but I'm going to support other local businesses that value their customer base and are happy that the customers who walk through their doors want to support local.

Inside, along with a nice size seating area to eat and bakery ordering line, they have ready made baked goods throughout many different bakery cases and fridges, as well as pre-packaged options. Everything from kringles to cookies and scones to cupcakes and full custom cakes. I had read about legendary cinnamon scones and have been a huge scone kick (especially cinnamon!), so I had to try them. Not only do they make cinnamon though, they take a unique approach to their fruit scones by filling them with fruit jelly, so of course I tried a lemon blueberry filled scone too. The filled ones are better in theory than practice. The lemon flavor of the dough was almost nonexistent and the blueberry jam didn't spread well enough to help out the other lacking flavors. The cinnamon scone absolutely could have potential, but unfortunately mine was overly hard and crumbly - I wish I had asked for a specific, newer and lesser-baked one, but such is life :)

Unfortunately, what I experienced this past Saturday morning completely undermined that charm. A local running group had clearly made this their post-run stop, which in itself is perfectly fine. Many of the women were seated respectfully like any other patrons. However, one man took it upon himself to turn the front of the bakery into his personal gym. While customers stood waiting for their coffee, he was drenched in sweat, performing cooldown exercises right in the lobby--hands flat on the floor, legs in the air, squats, jumping--completely oblivious to the people around him. The smell alone was enough to turn your stomach. This isn't a locker room. It's not a sidewalk. It's a place where people come to eat and drink. There was no awareness, no courtesy, no basic respect for shared space. It was uncomfortable, unhygienic, and frankly shocking to witness in a setting that otherwise prides itself on atmosphere. The bakery deserves praise for its food and environment, but management needs to step in and set clear expectations. Allowing behavior like this diminishes the experience for everyone else.
