You save money because the aisles are stocked with product still encased in their original boxes during shipment. Its ready for you to pick up but dont expect the fancy shelving arrangement that you would at Mariano's. You pay a quarter for your cart and get it back once you put your cart back where it belongs. That way Aldi doesn't have to hire workers to gather all the carts that lazy people just leave out in the middle of the parking lot. Now that you get the gist of it all lets get down to this store location and why the 3 stars. More times than once, this location ran out of stock of some important things i was needing such as milk and eggs. Another time they ran out of tortillas. If you call yourself the "stock up store" you shouldn't run out of stock. That is all.

The employee initially asked if we were doing two transactions, which I had no issue with and understood. However, after I completed the first transaction, she questioned whether I had paid for my orange juice, even though it had already been included in my purchase. She then asked to see my receipt and snatched it out of my hand, which felt very disrespectful. What made the interaction even more upsetting was that she was only paying close attention to us the entire time. There were several other WHITE customers using self-checkout at the same time, and she did not ask to see any of their receipts or question whether they had paid for their items. My sister and I are both young-looking and have a brown appearance, and the clear difference in how we were treated compared to other customers made us feel racially profiled and singled out because of our age and appearance. I understand employees have a job to do and may need to verify purchases, but that should be done fairly and respectfully with all customers. This experience made us feel unwelcome, and I hope management takes this seriously and ensures customers are treated equally going forward.

This Whole Foods is in a convenient Park Ridge location but we've never been much of a patron and…read morehave generally found them to be pricier than we like for groceries.  However, I came in on this day to try their Friday promo of 12 raw oysters for $12.  You do need to have an Amazon Prime account to get the deal.  I heard about this deal from a neighbor pal who is a big fan and oyster lover.   I would say it was an ok deal, and I'm going with 3.49 stars, as the oysters are all on the smallish side.  They're regularly priced at $1.99 apiece, and for comparison if you have them say at Shaw's, they go for $4 apiece there fyi.  You can't really enjoy them in their dining space though unless you want to buy lemons and/or cocktail sauce, as none is provided, so we did a carryout which is apparently the most common approach.  Carryout is fine as they are iced and as long as you eat them within 2 hours.  They had 3 types of oysters and they are the typical offerings year round we were told - Atlantic Blue Point, Rappahannock Atlantic, and Atlantic Wellfleet.  I queried a bit with Terry, one of the two seafood staffers on duty, and he told me Blue Points were the most popular and Rappahannocks were the biggest.  I don't know anything about the multitude of oyster varieties, but I do like the idea of getting the biggest for the buck as they all taste pretty much the same to me.  I also noticed they were only about 1/4 to 1/3 the size of the big oysters we get in a Chinatown restaurant(!), duh, but that's an aside.  Anyway we ordered 6 Blue Points and 6 Rappahannocks.  They made for a nice lunch side at home and a nice little foodie treat.  The two varieties tasted very similar but the Rappahannocks might have been a little fishier tasting.  Kyle was the staffer who did the shucking (and Terry said he was the best shucker in all of Park Ridge!), and he indeed did a masterful and excellent job as you couldn't even tell they were shucked as the shells were carefully reassembled so beautifully.  I actually raised my rating by 1/2 star just because of Kyle's fine work ha.  It was all fun, but probably still a one and done on the promo unless I find out they are going to bigger oyster varieties some day!

To add insult to injury the doors are enter or exit only doors (though I can't remember if there's a barrier between them--so maybe you can fudge it). Other than that, standard Whole Foods. They have an Amazon return counter on the side opposite of the entrance (since that's the least convenient place they could have put it for people making returns, I can only assume it was by design and they're hoping that people will do some shopping whilst they're in there). At that end there is a single exit-only door right by the Amazon counter, so you can avoid temptation by leaving there.

1 Star - Very Disappointing Customer Service…read more I have never experienced customer service like this at a grocery store. I understand that customers can sometimes be wrong, and I also understand that every store may have different policies. In this case, I was not aware that Caputo's does not bag customers' groceries, and I would have been completely fine with being politely informed of that policy. What I did have a problem with was the way the cashier spoke to me. Regardless of whether a customer is right or wrong, a cashier should never argue with or talk back to a customer in a disrespectful manner. There is a professional way to explain a store policy without becoming argumentative. What made the situation even more disappointing was that I had the manager standing right there. I explained to the manager that I felt the cashier should not be arguing with or talking back to a customer. Unfortunately, the manager ( short lady with curly hair) did nothing to address the employee's behavior or even speak to the cashier about the situation. To me, that sends the wrong message. When management witnesses an employee treating a customer this way and does nothing, it makes the employee feel that this type of behavior is acceptable. That is bad management and poor customer service. I am not upset about having to bag my own groceries. I am upset about how I was treated and how management chose to handle the situation. Customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, even when there is a disagreement. I hope the management at this location takes this seriously and understands that allowing employees to argue with customers without addressing the behavior is not good for the store or its customers.

Some of the roasted potatos were slightly under done, but otherwise everything was great. We didn't interact with a ton of staff since they have self checkout at this location, but everyone seemed relatively low-key and friendly. It wasn't at all busy, but it could be that we were shopping late on a week night. Despite being in the city, this location still felt plenty spacious and well stocked with produce, refrigerated, and shelf stable items.

Since this store is brand new, everything is very clean and shiny. The regular aisles are very narrow and I found it hard to fit 2 carts in the same aisle. The main aisles have plenty of room tho. You will find a good selection in the Deli and Bakery sections. A lot of the fruit however, is too ripe and must be eaten the same day you purchase it, or it will not be any good the next day. They have pretty pinatas handing in the first aisle when you enter the store, I don't know if these are solely for decorative purposes, or if they are available for purchase. They also have a cold and hot counter with cooked food for $8.99 per lb that looked interesting. Prices are generally higher than Aldi's and Food 4 Less, check for the items that are on special that week. That is where you will find the best prices, and skip the rest.
