they charged me $2.99 for this expired milk
    Debra C.

this review pertains only to the PICK UP service, good union jobs are very hard to find, with this said, I would believe that you hire people who can see, maybe can feel and definitely be able to read. I didn't post about my bad experience last time because I was giving them a chance to prove I was wrong. Two days ago I picked up my grocery order, and it will be the last time I shopped at the store, Park Ridge is seven more minutes down the street and they have intelligent workers. Mariano's charged me $2.99 for an expired milk which clearly had a label on it reduced to $1.35 well who the hell wants to buy expired milk? They gave me moldy old strawberries, my bread was smashed, the green pepper and onion in my bag were moldy and rotten. What is wrong with these people, in my world it's because they don't give a shit. I will give Mariano's credit as you can go on the app and instantly receive a refund, but it's not the point.

1 Star for this is to much ! Do better ! I bought this coffee a month ago! I just checked the date today and what I found ?! More than a year expired!! This store was great before now it's ridiculous! So many employees walking like a zombie and there's a result how they are working hard there !!

    No red at all.

I just spent $20.15 for ribeye steak bone in, asked to have it cooked medium rare. When I got home less then ten minutes later I opened a well done steak. Called manager told her I was not happy. Said I would have to drive back and they would recook. Family was waiting for me to eat. I was not going to drive back and wait another twenty minutes for new steak. Manager said that is all she could offer. Pictures of steak was not enough. I told her I was not happy and would not shop there again. Her response was fine that's Ok.

08/23/20 - I love Mariano's. I feel like the quality of the stores are much better, cleaner and better stocked them their predecessor Dominicks. They also rank above Jewel which is usually very dated FYI - Mariano's has reopened their hot food & salad bar post Covid shutdown. They have limited hours from 10:30am - 1:30pm & 4pm - 7pm. The item selection has been pared down a little & they have a staff member monitoring the area to prevent morons from drinking soup w/serving ladle and putting it back in and scooping again w/the same scoop. ADDENDUM - The opening of the salad bars isn't at all Mariano's as I found out this morning w/my local Mariano so CALL IN ADVANCE IF YOU'RE GOING FOR THE SALAD IR HOT BAR I for one am ecstatic about having the salad bar reopened as I really missed this during the height of the Covid shutdown. I guess nothing is completely wo/risk, but life must go on.

Ground beef that will get someone sick that Mariano's is trying to sell

This place is absolutely disgusting. All the produce is molded over and I leave the store without half the ingredients I need. And now today, they are actually trying to sell this ground beef to a customer. Stay far far away from this store.

I have been coming here for about 3 years now and the employees make sure that everything is always neatly organized. Also, I have never come across a fruit or a vegetable that was expired. Their gelato ice cream tastes fresh and it's delicious. My go to flavors are Nutella, cookies and cream and strawberry. They also have great food, were you can carry out or eat there. When I go in Sunday's they have great specials in chicken. They do have to work on their bread, they leave out and ty to sell the stale pieces. Some of the wine is overpriced too were it's best to get it from another store. Also, their flowers are higher priced compared to jewel or other boutiques. They do have a juice/smoothies bar were they make them right in front of you using the freshest ingredients. Overall, Mariano's is a nice grocery store to go to.

The meal at Mariano's is fantastic! Very tasty and beautifully prepared, with a large selection to choose from. I enjoy the service here, and the chef is always so polite with the customers and constantly strives to provide the highest quality! This is a place that  I strongly suggest. I had such a nice dinner experience here, it's worth the price and definitely  a memorable dinner date for me. We went here to eat our dinner and I did not regret choosing this resto cause it gives good quality service to everyone. I am having second thoughts to be honest at first if we will go here cause we just saw this place online and we were just reading some reviews if it's really good. We don't know if the reviews are true but when we came here, I realized that the reviews were really telling the truth. I definitely recommend this to my friend. Such a nice place.

Some things are ok, others look past their prime. Just shop carefully. As another reviewer has mentioned, beware of expired products. Check the dates on everything you pick up. (Which is a good habit to get into anyway.) I saw a package of ham that had expired a month previous, and it was proudly displayed at the front of the row. I think part of the problem is that the median age of the employee there seems to be maybe 17. I don't think I've ever seen an adult employee there. Also, beware if you go there close to closing time. They only time I'm ever there is Saturday evening. They close at 9:00. The kids aren't too discreet about the fact that they want you to get the hell out. The cashiers are always ultra bitchy close to closing as well. Tired of walking the same five aisles at your regular grocery store? This place is the antidote…read more The first thing that hit me walking in was how different everything felt: shelves stocked with items I don't normally see, the kind of variety that makes meal planning fun again instead of routine. If you've ever stood in your usual store wondering why every dish you cook ends up tasting the same, this is where you go to break that cycle. It's a big store, but don't let that intimidate you. I expected to get turned around a few times, but the layout makes sense and everything is easy enough to find. What really stood out was the produce and the fresh sections I walked through. You can tell things are turned over regularly, nothing looked tired or picked over. Now, the honest part. Prices here run about 20% higher than what you'd pay at a typical grocery store. That's the trade-off, and I want to be upfront about it rather than let you find out at checkout. But here's the thing: if that difference doesn't break your budget, this is absolutely worth it. You're not just paying for groceries, you're paying for the chance to discover something you wouldn't have found anywhere else in the neighborhood. So if you're the type who gets a little bored buying the same brands week after week, do yourself a favor and take the detour. Wander the aisles, grab something you don't recognize, and let this place shake up your routine a little. Sometimes the best meals start with a store you didn't expect to fall for.

What attracted me were the signs in the window "HUGE PRICE CUTS" & the sign for a pint of blueberries for $0.99/pint. Almost every year we go to Degrandchamp's Blueberry Farm in South Haven & pick fresh blueberries. We freeze them and use them over the course of the year for cereal, blueberry muffins, pancakes and just to eat them cause they're so dam good. Well my freezer stock is almost gone and I've been keeping my eyes out for a good price on Blueberries. $0.99/pint is a pretty good price (limit of 3) so I went in straight to the produce & picked some up. They also have red grapes for 0.$99/lb. As long as I was in the store I looked around. The deli has some incredible sales on lunch meats, Lean pastrami, lean corn beef & 3 types of Turkey lunch meat all for $2.99/lb. I also found the 1/2 gal of milk is only $1.29 (reg. price). As I was walking to the front I stopped by the bakery. I found a tiramisu cake for $6.99 this is usually $12.99 @ Mariano's for the same size cake.
