Do you know what that meant!? It means they had already started picking them and I was late! Again! I remembered to look again today and it said it was open but it might not last all day and they highly doubt there would be peaches available to pick for Saturday or Sunday. The website noted the late freeze in April didn't give them a great harvest this year. That meant RUN RUN RUN ‍ so that's exactly what I did. Although I missed two exits getting there SMH, I pulled up, changed my shoes, and opened my trunk to grab my little red wagon. To my dismay, it was not there! I could not believe it because how was I going to haul all my peachesand by myself?! I quickly called my mama and she told me she indeed still had its. I was heartbroken because I was already by myself and no one could come such last minute but now I have to somehow carry the heavy peaches through the field and the hot sun. I looked around and saw wheelbarrows but already knew they would be way too heavy for me to pull around the field so I quickly emptied a reusable bag for my box to go in, and headed to the stand. This year you have to purchase a entry band for everyone that is within the field. That $3 goes towards the farm and whatever they need. Years prior, container size you purchased dictated how many people could go into the field to cleft l collect for that box. Bigger box, more people. I noticed a sign stating I couldn't bring a tote bag in the field and the gentleman explained he would have to check it on the way out. I didn't really care about that and explained to him how I left my wagon and he offered for me to use one of their wheelbarrows. I declined at first because I knew it was going to be too heavy for me to haul around and I instantly had flashbacks of back in the day trying to move that thing. I decided to walk over and see how heavy it was. Guess what!? These wheelbarrows are so lightweight! They're not even made of steel LOL I was so happy and quickly grabed the wheelbarrow, put my box in along with my things, and headed into the field after paying. The smell of peaches fermenting has got to be one of my all-time favorites! It was a warm day today so I definitely took my time and tried to find shade as I picked my peaches. My box quickly filled up so I grabbed one, munched on it and then left after taking some video. What a quick visit. I knew my next stop was to grab my favorite peach butter so I headed to the store. They have less products this year and I wondered how our current climate has been impacting other farms which helps supply their store. They have a few different varieties of mushrooms all boxed for 10 bucks to include lion's mane, porcini, yellow trumpets and others. I made my way around the perimeter of the store and saw some of the usuals like beef jerky, beeswax candles, kraut, cheeses, milk and such. When I got to my favorite spot with my peach butter, there was none! The whole top shelf was empty! This has happened to me before and I had to come back. Hopefully I'll be able to grab some at a later date but if you go grab me a jar lol. I then started looking for to Taharka's ice cream and noticed a deep freezer with a sign indicating the ice cream was inside. I decided not to grab any because I wasn't too sure if I was headed straight home or not. The last time I had to eat both pints so that they didn't melt in my car . . . . . I can't wait for my next adventure at Larriland. The fall will be a great time to visit as well. Oh yeah, right now currently they have onions, tomatoes, potatoes, beets and some other pick your owns in season as well. Happy picking

(Lots of moldy or rotten big ones to ignore.) We later found much more productive rows but were told those rows were not yet open. $4/person admission, $49 for a large flat, pay before you see the field. Disappointed.

We arrived late in the season, but what's the efficient number of blackberries and blueberries were still available to pick. We just had to spend a little extra time picking which actually made it a little bit more fun. Wagons are available to pull your buckets so you and the kids don't have to carry them. The signage for the types of blueberries and blackberries and raspberries are adequate. This was my first time going there and we were able to find parking fairly easy because we arrive shortly after they opened. I can see how parking will be a little more difficult during the busy times. Bathrooms are on site that they are a little bit primitive. If you don't want to pick your own fruits, their store has some already picked for you but at a greater cost than if you picked them yourself plus other local produce and grocery items.

Especially because, candidly, it had been a few weeks since my last Hollabaugh festival and I was starting to miss them. This year's Central PA peach crop took a hit from the weather, but Hollabaugh held their annual Peach Festival anyway, complete with peach desserts, samples, live music, vendors, food trucks, wagon rides, games and plenty more. The festival was free to attend with a $5 parking fee benefiting the organizations providing volunteers. I arrived around 1:00 p.m. Saturday and, as usual, everything was incredibly well organized. Helpful parking attendants got me situated quickly, and shuttles were available for anyone who needed some help getting from the parking area to the festival. I weirdly LOVE that Hollabaugh keeps the same general festival layout every time. The creature of habit in me appreciates knowing exactly where I'm going. I know where the samples are. I know where the baked goods are. I know where important business needs to happen. I started in the sample room, where a spicy peach BBQ sauce convinced me it needed to come home for a future dinner. Then it was time for my traditional baked goods counter visit, where I learned that apparently I have officially become a regular. I've developed a habit of buying three festival-themed sugar cakes at every Hollabaugh festival. They normally package six together, but the staff have always kindly split a package for me. This time, one of the women behind the counter RECOGNIZED ME and asked if I was there for my three peach sugar cakes. Umm...YES! I don't know whether to be proud or concerned that I've reached "the bakery staff knows my sugar cake order" status, but I'm choosing proud. While she packaged them, I also grabbed two of the largest carrots I've ever seen for that night's dinner and then headed outside for dessert. Normally, I get the festival-themed milkshake, but this time peach pie à la mode caught my attention. They offered vanilla or peach ice cream on top, but we're at the PEACH FESTIVAL. There was only one correct answer. PEACH ON PEACH. The peach ice cream was TREMENDOUS! Sometimes peach ice cream tastes vaguely fruity and you're supposed to trust everyone involved that peach was the intended flavor. Not this stuff. This tasted like PEACH. The pie underneath was equally fantastic, and I demonstrated impressive personal growth by NOT going back inside and buying an entire one. Please clap for my restraint. Of course, I still had to break into one of my peach sugar cakes. Fluffy, sweet and packed with chunks of peaches. Exactly what I hoped it would be. Tradition successfully maintained! I spent about an hour at the festival, but you could easily make an afternoon of the live music, vendors, food trucks and activities. That's one of the things Hollabaugh does so well. Come for an hour or settle in for the afternoon. Either way, there's plenty to see, eat and enjoy. And I'm realizing there are four things I can apparently count on every single time I come to a Hollabaugh festival. The staff are friendly. Always. The parking and event organization are easy. Always. The property is beautiful. Always. And at some point, I will put something in my mouth that makes me say, "OH MY GOD, THIS IS GOOD!" ALWAYS. Thank you, Hollabaugh Bros., for another fantastic festival and for continuing to create events that are about so much more than selling peaches, apples or baked goods. These festivals give people a reason to gather, support local businesses, try something new, enjoy some great food and spend an afternoon together on a beautiful Adams County farm. I could have a bad day and coming here instantly cheers me up. Prices... health costs money but copays cost more. You choose. Parking... decent. The turnover is quick and I've never had to wait to park. People are usually in & out. Issues... the only herbs they sell is cilantro. I'm ok with that (mostly). But I really wish they had mint & basil. They are closed during winter. Makes sense but... Those are the longest 4 months for me.

Parking is not an issue with plenty of spaces. In the back of the complex is the outdoor Flea Market area, which vendors vary on a daily basis. You'll find a little bit of everything, because it's essentially a giant yard sale. In the front of the complex are the sheds, which are literal sheds vendors can lease and sell from. The main complex is three connected buildings with various vendors. Morning Sun Marketplace, unlike some flea markets, has a wide array of dining options. Vendors included video game booths, toy booths, trading card booths, and many others. The selection was rather impressive. All of the buildings were clean and well kept. Our biggest surprise was the booth style collectible and antique center in the middle building. It was full of high-quality items including many retro toys and collectables. If Morning Sun Marketplace is your local flea market, it's a great place to stop in at regularly. We were here in the off season, so we can't speculate on how many produce vendors show up during the months with better weather. Overall, it was worth the visit and I would return.

There were people selling stuff out of their vehicles scattered around the parking lot. No designated area just hap-hazard and very sketchy looking. We parked and walked inside and right away we noticed that it was dirty EVERYWHERE. There were multiple empty spots where there might have been a vendor at one time. The lighting was terrible, and the place smelled as well. Everything looked outdated and most of the food vendors looked like they hadn't seen a health inspection in months. After a quick walk around the first building we headed back to our vehicle and couldn't get out of the parking lot fast enough! We won't be going back.........EVER!
