I don't know why this place has such bad reviews, I went here and had such great experience. The employees here are so nice, I didn't have a mask so the employees offered me one that matched my outfit. I didn't find shoes that fit me but they had my size online so the sales associate offered to order me some. The store is extremely clean and organized, I will definitely come back when I am in the area. read more

On a date night and my Girlfriend and I decided to visit 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, CA. Arriving on the walkway, this was one of the first shops we came across. I told my Girlfriend, ah lets go ahead and take a look. So glad we did. The customer service was very good and the women's shoes had a clearance going on with a great sales. And the attitude of the staff almost made me want to walk out...even for this shoe whore. Salespeople, take a lesson. Go to the Esprit store across the way for tips on how to treat customers. My broke ass even gets warm, friendly service at the Gucci store in Beverly Hils: "Yes, I would love to sell my kidney for those stilettos....I'll take 'em." I did buy some flip flops for the Tsinela's UYE cuz I needed a new pair anyway and didn't want to meet new Yelper's in my ghetto, dog-chewed flops. This review is for the Aldo chain overall and not specific to this one location. I believe Aldo marketed itself as a high end shoe store and many people shop here believing so. The quality of their shoes however, is quite cheap. It's leather uppers only most of the time and even when taken care of wrinkle quite easily and require replacement after 3 to 4 months of regular use. I congratulate Aldo on it's marketing however condone the quality and price of their foot wear. To their defense, they do have a great variety of up to date, European style footwear to choose from. If you don't mind spending anywhere from $90 to $150 for shoes that will last 4 months. read more

AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS! I should have read the reviews before coming to this location. I stopped by to make a return because I was in the area. I bought a pair of shoes online, but received a display pair (they were dirty). I called the 800 number and they told me to exchange/re-order at any Aldo location. As soon as I entered the store, I got a cold reception from the employees. I told one of the employees my dilemma and he rang up my transaction on the computer. He pretty much demands that I PAY to make my return. He makes up some lie about the sales tax not adding up and tells me I have to pay extra (even though the shipping/billing address for my purchase and the store are both located in LA county). I don't know about you, but I've never had to pay to make an exchange/return of merchandise. I paid the amount and left the store because it wasn't a large sum of money. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how WRONG the situation really was. (It's about the principle!) I called the 800 number to complain about what happened. I told the customer service rep about the incident, and even she was appalled. I made a formal complaint, which was given to the store manager who was supposed to call me within 2 business days. Well, it's been over a month and still no call. Surprise, surprise. I ended up getting a refund of the amount they charged from another location where the employees were much more respectful. Moral of the story: - Avoid this place like the plague. They'll be rude to you and try to make up some BS to steal your money. read more

I can honestly say I walked in and out extremely comfortable. I recently went about a week ago to the Glendale Galleria Aldo to pick up shoes I ordered, and got judgmental looks that weren't so warming. So today I happen to come in to exchange my shoes at this Aldo store, and the employees were so much different, extremely kind and super helpful! I was Helped by Vanessa, and she was the Best! I appreciate her help today, along with the tips she gave me on my boots! Since I work in Santa Monica, I will be coming back to this Aldo! Someone's kindness can make a customer return! Sad to say this is one of my favorite shoe stores near me! But the customer service is something else...I went in to pick up 3 pairs of shoes and called before arriving, to make sure my shoes were delivered. Once I got to the store only one pair had arrived, I was very disappointed because that was not what I was told over the phone and now I have to go back to pick up the other two. I purchased them all on the same day which I figured would arrive all on the same day together! Next time I know better not order more then one item at a time! I have been purchasing Aldo Shoes and handbags for so many years and I always buy 2 and 3 pairs of all of the shoes I like, so I will never be without them. They rarely wear out, as they are well made. I need a larger closet, because I have so many shoes and back up shoes and handbags. I recently had a very wonderful experience with the district manager David, who is absolutely a perfect district manager. I contacted him with a situation, which he attended to in minutes. He was even out of the country and responded to me until all was perfect. I went to the Santa Monica store today, on 3rd Street and Mario, one of the sales people helped me find the exact shoe that I wanted. It was a swede boot and so beautiful. I can't wait to wear it and let all my other shoes in the closet just sit there. I wish I had 10 feet, so I could wear all my shoes on the same day. What I have written is all real. Buying was a great experience by Collin. He assured my husband and that If our shoes didn't workout with our outfits at home (for the wedding we are attending) that returning wouldn't be an issue. We purchased 2 men's dress shoes and 1 women's heels. When We went home we tried on the shoes with our outfits, my husband loved one pair of shoes and disliked another so we had at least 1 winner there. Next I tried mine on with my dress and it just wasn't a match so they weren't keepers. Fast forward a couple days later I return to Aldo to return 2 pairs of shoes, mine and one of my husbands. The sales associate Ashley assessed the shoes and immediately said they looked used, dirty and don't think she can return them. Offended and confused I assured her that they were not in-fact used but tried on once at home and were not a success. She proceeded to tell me she needed to get her manager but she was very cold, rude and unprofessional. I will never shop here again and suggest they re train her on the return policy and a professional, non offensive tone. I always wear Nike's everywhere, never really liked wearing other shoes because I found them too uncomfortable, but I decided to buy myself a nice pair of shoes. Went into Aldo because a store just so happened to be near my cousin's house. They had a lot of nice looking shoes and there all at an affordable price; for good reason. I got a pair a little over 4 months ago. Took a while to break them in, (the heel of the shoe started digging into the back of my ankle. IT HURT) but I always made sure to not abuse them and to always keep them clean. But that didn't really help because a little after 90+ days the actual covering fabric of the shoes began ripping off in the strangest ways, no matter how well I took care of them. Keep in mind I spent 40$ on these stinking shoes. I tried to return them but all Aldo could say is that, it's past your 90 day return period. Shoes are NOT suppose to rip apart in every direction after only 3 months. Thanks but no thanks. Not buying shoes from Aldo anymore. I gave this place 2 stars because if you want to buy a cheap pair of shoes that look cool that you don't expect to last at all, THIS IS THE PLACE; but if you're a normal person that wants shoes that last, STAY AWAY. read more

I ordered shoes and was told I would receive them within 4-7 business days. That was on August 16th. Here we are September 2nd, and I never received them. I called the store number and throughout got only a fax. I called the Northridge location, same thing. Called a third location and they said "Oh yeah, the phone system they use is not very good--if no one picks up it goes to fax." Found an 800 number and cancelled my order. I bought a purse from Aldo and only used it for 2 weeks before it broke... I went into the store and talked to the manager which was no help at all and she was very rude. I asked her about other Aldo purses and when she showed me them I asked her if they had different styles because I didn't like how the purses looked. She didn't listen at all to what I had to say and gave me attitude when I tried to say something. Without the original package ... When I decided to purchase the shoe I told the lady I don't want that store display gel pad I would like to purchase a new one. They were saying it's new... I'm like how that's new when you didn't open front of me and you brought it from the back without the original package ... Was there yesterday with my husband. The selection is good, I would say more for men than ladies. Their women shoes and boots can be found anywhere however my husband fell in love with a pair of the suede Chelsea boots there for himself. He ended up buying them for 170. The price is not cheap and I hope the shoes last. The sales guy, Brandon, was really really really helpful. He took his time to educate us about their different designs and what goes with what. This review is long overdue. Spent a nice day in the area and bought a beautiful purse from them. Used it once and realized the inside lining had been torn all along. Brought it back the next day (literally no more than 24 hours later) with receipt in hand and just wanted to exchange it for the same kind. Sadly, they didn't have anymore in stock. So, I asked for my money back. Easy enough. Unfortunately, since I removed the tag they wouldn't accept my return as it was now a 'used' item. Aren't you supposed to remove the tag when actually using a purse? Anyways, was stuck dealing with them and a store credit for weeks. First off bought shoes here yesterday...had to ask like 5 people for help asked for a shoe size and they said I think that ones an 8 just try that idk... then I go to try to buy them no help ... then I ask if I can get them with a different one then the display shoe girl says just take that one idk if we have a new one sorry without even looking . I've been to this Aldo a few times before and consistently received bad customer service. My last visit took the cake though. I walked inside and was not greeted by anyone even though I was the only person in the store (not surprised). I was looking for sandals for my husband that were vegan. I know Aldo is known for their leather shoes, but I was taking a chance because I have purchased sandals from them in the past that were, in fact, made with man-made materials. I grabbed a pair that had a trim that could have been leather, or plastic. So I took them to the cashier. I asked him "is that trim leather?". He looks up at me and says "what do you want it to be?" .....that was the beginning of my horrible experience. I said "not leather, but I need you to be 100% sure" and he said "oh ok. let me check the back of the shoe, it will tell me what material it's made with". He turns the shoe over and says to me "it's not leather". I ask him "are you positive?" and he says "yes, 100%". So I decide to purchase the shoes based on that info from the employee. As I'm checking out he asks me "what, are you from peta or something?" and starts laughing with another employee. I'm not, but I wish I was asshole! Just a kind person who prefers not to wear baby cows on my feet. So I get home and I look up the sandals on their website. Turns out, (surprise surprise) the shoes were in fact leather. I called Aldo customer service and made a complaint about the employee. I was told I would get either a call back or an email from the store manager within the next 48 hours. It's been 3 weeks and nothing. It's sad when a terrible store continues to prove itself to be terrible over and over again. Never stepping foot in there again. read more

I walked into this store with the intention of buying a $220 pair of boots. I asked for my size after having to track one of the sales people down even though they saw me and didnt approach me or offer to help or welcome me in. Didnt have my size. Didnt offer to order it. I asked about online they totally brushed me off. Had no clue about a 30% off boots sign in the front of the store. HORRIBLE service will never give them my business. Bunch of Liars working in this store. Went in, found boots with %50 off tag at the bottom. I asked the sales person how much the boots cost? He said they were $50 after discount. They brought me the size I wanted, but the girl at the cashier charged me full price of $100. Told her salesperson(Eric) told me they were $50 & that they are on sale. She talked to the sales person & then the manager, meanwhile one of them taking the %50 off tag off of the boot. The manager of the store came to the cashier stand telling the boots were regular price but He can do %15 off. When I told him those boots were on sale, he said No they are not. WORST customer service ever, and their shoes are tacky - I've seen better selection at other Aldo locations. The manager here was very rude to me and my friends - I could sense an underlying degree of pretentiousness in his manner, as if we knew nothing about style (fyi his style wasn't all that great either, I wouldn't take shoe advice from this idiot). And his equally rude and idiotic employees didn't help with matters. It was nearing closing time apparently and they had us rushing to buy a pair of shoes. FYI we came there WAY BEFORE it was closing time so it's not like we decided to rush in at the last possible minute. As we were browsing and one of my friends was trying on her shoes, one of the employees proceeded to shut the doors indicating it was closing time. Now in my past experience as a customer usually whenever this happens I never feel pressured to rush, however this was not the case this time. As soon as he closed the doors I could feel a sense of tension in his eyes as he glanced over at our pile of shoes, making our final decisions. Our saleslady (who was the only generally friendly one and maintained a degree of professionalness- she did not make us feel pressured to decide and purchase) was in the midst of bringing forth our shoe sizes. However while the wait was long she did bring me a multitude of sizes as opposed to the size I had originally asked for. My friend on the other hand was having trouble deciding which one of her shoe options she should buy. One of the employees then proceeded to tell us that it was closing time and that we had approximately ten minutes to leave. How rude! I understand that it's closing time but we were there BEFOREHAND and it's not as if we entered at the last possible minute. I then overheard the cashier whisper to our saleslady "Are they gonna buy something or not?" The other employee then tells us "Unless you're gonna buy something, then you must leave." WHAT? EXCUSE ME? WE'RE GIVING YOU OUR TIME AND MONEY AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT US?? RUDEST EMPLOYEES EVER. We eventually made our final decisions and did in fact leave with our purchases. The only sense of friendliness I got was from our saleslady who at the very least kept it professional and apologized for her co-workers' rudeness and proceeded to explain to us why they were rushing us out. Despite that I give this sad, terrible place one star. I will never be coming back. Unless you enjoy being yelled at and undermined NEVER GO TO THIS ALDO. Oh and their layout sucks too very disorganized and they need to move their damn accessories of cheap, plastic things out of the way of the cashier. It's very annoying. NEVER AGAIN. read more
