Three days before my graduation, I brought in a brand-new white Donna Karan dress that I had purchased only two days earlier. The dress had never been worn. The only issue was that it had gotten wet during delivery and developed a few yellow water stains. Before leaving the dress, I specifically asked whether the stains could be removed. I explained that the dress was for my graduation and that I needed it back quickly. I was clearly told that the stains could be treated and that the dress could be properly cleaned and pressed. Based on that assurance, I trusted them with an important garment for one of the most special days of my life and paid for expedited service. While the dress was returned on time, the actual service was a complete failure. The stains were still there. In fact, the dress looked just as bad, if not worse, than when I brought it in. When I got ready for my graduation and took a closer look, I realized the dress was not wearable. At that point, it was too late to find another solution. What makes this even more frustrating is that this review is not about the $22 charge. It is about trust. If the stains could not be removed, I should have been told that from the beginning. Instead, they accepted the dress, assured me the work could be done, charged me for the service, and returned it without fixing the problem. To make matters worse, they also removed the original Donna Karan tag from the dress and did not reattach it or return it to me. This was a brand-new designer dress, and there was absolutely no reason for the tag to be removed without my permission. The final disappointment came when I called to express my concerns. The person who answered the phone identified herself as the manager and was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in taking responsibility for what happened. There was no apology, no attempt to understand the situation, and no effort to make things right. This business did not simply fail to clean a dress. They ruined an important moment that I can never get back. A graduation only happens once, and because of their poor workmanship, lack of transparency, and terrible customer service, I was left stressed and disappointed right before a milestone event in my life. Please read the reviews carefully before trusting this business with any important garment, especially a new or special-occasion item. I will be attaching photos so others can judge the quality of the work for themselves.

Despite being close he was in a part of Jersey City I had never walked to and I wasn't terribly certain if I should go to him or another guy closer to Grove. If you are in a similar situation, go to this guy. I came in and described the repair I wanted for my boots. He said it would be expensive. I braced for the worst. I think it was drastically cheaper than boot repair places I've seen in the city and even in Jersey City. The work, considering the damage I had done to the boots, was phenomenal. As soon as I got to Staten Island, I asked my cousin if she knew of a good cobbler and she recommended this one. I walked in and asked if they could repair my heel and have it ready by Friday. They did me one better and said they could have it ready by 3:00 (same day!) I asked if they could also polish them and they said yes. I ran some errands and just picked them up and they look almost brand new! While I did like the rustic look they had prior to me bringing them in, I much prefer them polished! The shine really brings out the color. The heel they replaced them with is even better than the one it came with. It's an anti-slip heel, which is clutch for me because lord knows I'm not always the most graceful. I have to give them props for their amazing customer and their stellar work. I'll def keep them in mind when I come to visit and need shoe repairs!
