I saw a post about MYLA on Instagram earlier this week and thought it looked like a nice place to check out. Today I took my family for breakfast and within minutes of walking through the door realized it was a mistake, sitting is very limited! We soon noticed the staff was only one person doing the cooking and one person the charging, serving, taking orders and cleaning the tables. It is completely understaffed!!! The wait to be served is a bit too long and prices are a bit above average. Food is good, it is fair to say! Even though we have completely different understanding of what over easy eggs are, I can let that go. Serving size are good. Please hire more people! I have always enjoyed eating here with my family, and the food has consistently been amazing. Unfortunately, the service during my recent visits has been disappointing, and today was the worst experience so far. We waited approximately 30 minutes just to receive our drinks, and the restaurant appeared extremely understaffed. While I understand that busy days happen, what stood out most was the lack of professionalism from our server, Isabelle. From the moment we were seated, there was no greeting or welcoming attitude. The menus were quickly slid across the table without any introduction, and later the straws were essentially tossed onto the table with very little communication. Throughout the meal, there was minimal interaction, and the overall service felt rushed and unfriendly. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but customer service is an important part of the dining experience. The food itself was excellent, which is why this review is difficult to write. I truly enjoy coming here and want to continue supporting this restaurant. However, I hope management addresses the staffing issues and reinforces the level of customer service that guests should expect. read more

Very disappointing experience, mainly due to poor service. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait, which was fine. However, after being seated, everything went downhill. It took 5-10 minutes just to get menus and another 15 minutes before our server, Vicky, came to take our order. We ordered everything at once to avoid delays, yet we were never served the usual chips and salsa. The biggest issue was the wait time and lack of attention. While we were sitting there, multiple tables that arrived after us were seated, ordered, ate, and left before we even received our food. Meanwhile, other servers were clearly attentive and efficient with their tables. Our food took about 40 minutes, arrived cold, and came out separately. After that, our server barely checked on us--we had to ask other staff for help. No one came to see how things were or to bring the check. We ended up going to the counter ourselves to pay, and there was no apology at all. This was our second visit with the same server and the same experience. We gave the restaurant a second chance, but unfortunately that was a mistake. We spent over $150, and the level of service did not match that at all. The menu did not state it comes with refried beans, I received the food and it had refried beans, I had the server confirm if it had lard or not, as I am vegetarian and lard/ manteca makes me physically ill. The server confirmed it has lard/ manteca and had the kitchen fix the issue, well all that happened was the eggs and chilaquiles that had touched and had refried beans on them were just put on a new plate not redone. What upset me was another person came out and was trying to avoid redoing them stating they got moved to a new plate. Had to demand the dish be redone. The server was great just the customer service of the second person was disappointing so I'm avoiding this restaurant because I could have gotten sick. I am used to eating spicy food I love spicy food but this was way too hot for me and my dad. Torn to write this review. I have been here 3 times and decided to take my parents here because every plate I had here is delicious! The service is great as well. We ordered 3 cafe de olla and the waitress came by multiple times to refill our cups. To my surprise we were charged 6 full refills of coffee for 3 people. The coffee alone was about 23 dollars!!! But what is upsetting is that our cups were never completely empty they were half full and we would get topped off. So how can they determine they we have 6 complete refills? On top of that there is a surcharge and service fee added. I hope the service fee they are requiring is the tip for the waitresses. Today I decided to read the reviews before going and there were of couple of reviews that warned others to check their receipt before paying and thats what happened today. This is truly a hidden gem! The food here is amazing. One of my favorites is their chicken tortilla soup. A unique take on a classic and oh so flavorful! They have a wide selection of foods from sushi to quesabirrias and chilaquiles. You really can't go wrong with any dish. The dishes are all modern takes on the classics we know and love. They have limited seating and parking, but I've never had an issue with either during the lunch hour. The service here is friendly and always quick. My husband and I came in on a whim when we happened to be in the area, and we were impressed!! We shared an asada burrito, el socio roll, and chips and guac. The guac was creamy and flavorful, the burrito was the size of my forearm (for only $10!), and my favorite was the roll. The Japanese flavors work beautifully with Mexican flavors, and my taste buds were so happy! The sashimi/fish used tasted fresh and of great quality. I'd suggest asking for some of the cilantro sauce that came on our roll on the side for the burrito. Yum! We didn't think we'd be that full from our food, but it kept us full for the rest of the day.
