No response until 4:13 from someone called Tash saying there was availability, and to let them know if interested, and they would respond with deposit instructions. I replied at 4:52 PM, saying I was interested and requested clarification on the rate, because it was more than what their rate schedule on the website said. I had told my wife it was a beachfront room, and we were really excited. We go to the outer Cape for a week every summer, but did not book ahead this year as I had recently started a new job, and I was scrambling to find something last minute for 2 nights. As of 6:55 PM, I did not have a response, so decided to call. Couldn't understand the name with the accent, but told the person I was in contact already and wanted to book the room, and was told nothing was available. I asked how, I was already in contact, and I was told she came in at 3, there were multiple people taking reservations. HOW IS A PENDING RESERVATION NOT COMMUNICATED??? An offer for a room was made. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT after getting so excited. This is the worst thing a reservation desk could do. Saying in email that the message does not guarantee a reservation doesn't mean you have BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

When seated, all wait staff works together to serve you and they do so efficiently! The owner spotted us and noticed we were newbies and came over and chatted with us. So kind! I love when owners focus on all their patrons and don't just carer to their regulars! The breakfast was amazing. My favorite food is breakfast and I think this is my top place! I ordered the French toast and scrambled eggs. Cooked perfectly and the French toast was fluffy and incredibly tasteful. My favorite parts of this place were the decor, the GAMES AND LITTLE GIFTS they give to their little patrons while they wait and before they leave and also their comments and suggestions booklet on each table. The tea my husband ordered was hot and his refill cup a little while later was also nice and hot. I got a flavored iced coffee which was brewed not syrup. It was excellent and I was given a free refill which is unheard of for iced coffee in most places. We received our breakfast of biscuits and gravy, two eggs over medium and home fries promptly. Eggs were cooked perfectly, the biscuits were soft and fluffy, the gravy was delicious and the home fries held up their end of the bargain they were very tasty. Part of the appeal was chatting with one of the server, who after a little bit of time we discovered was the owner. She was a lovely woman with a beautiful smile. We also chatted with one of the other servers who was just lovely. All in all an excellent experience and we plan to go back. Very cute decor. Lots of pleasant little details. Upon arrival the room was at 68 (below 30 outside) soooo turned that sucker up. Put it on 74 and thought it would warm up overnight. Arrived pretty late, after 11pm. I called the front desk and the agent confirmed I was using the right thermostat to control the temp and noted that maintenance would check it. That was fixed as when I returned it was a nice balmy 76! Downside though was the unit did an odd cycling thing with warm air....cold air...warm air. So it never shut off at night and tan the entire time. Their drive way is odd, one way only and Tuesday morning there was a delivery truck blocking the exit. Thankfully no one else was behind us so we were able to back out. The room felt very industrial. Concrete walls and high ceilings, with an almost open concept bathroom. Barn door and the shower was a waterfall (over head) with hand held option thankfully. If you've got curtly hair, you know why a waterfall shower is the worst. And to ere was no shower cap as an option. The shower itself did not go all the way to the ceiling which also meant there was no barrier between you and the room. If share with a partner may not be bad but with friends, that's a nightmare. Other downside was the lock was funky. When leaving for dinner, thank goodness I checked the lock as it did not lock. I had to open the door and mess with it to finally lock. All in all decent hotel however I can't say I'd stay again.

Staff is terrific and Corner Cafe is still our #1 choice but we have noticed beverage pricing may need to be thought through.....

The service felt aloof and inattentive, and management never came over to acknowledge the excessive wait or address the situation. The only explanation we received was that they were busy. We certainly understand that restaurants can get overwhelmed during peak times, but being busy shouldn't mean that basic service and communication disappear. Overall, it was a very disappointing breakfast experience.
