This place had good reviews, so first I called to see what the wait was like, then drove over. The person I spoke to on the phone was pleasant. When I arrived, they asked me to scan a QR code to check in, that was neat. Although I went in for just an emissions inspection, the person who checked me in saw that my state inspection was due soon and suggested getting that done as well which I agreed to. Then I sat in the waiting area in the back and worked a bit. I wish I'd taken a picture of the waiting area before others arrived because it was so cute! It was decorated with a beach theme and there were small couches and arm chairs and games to play. I think the emissions and safety inspection took about an hour or a little more. When they finished the person who checked me out was also pleasant and chatty. He was reviewing my vehicle and what services I needed and I commented that it was much less than what my dealer recommended. He was very professional and said that the dealer might be more conservative but he believes in only getting what's necessary. I appreciated his take, and especially that he didn't feel the need to talk negatively about a competitor. I will absolutely be back to get my car serviced. It was a pleasant experience with pleasant people!

Chronic Communication Failures and Disregard for Scheduled Appointments for All in all mediocre…read moreservice I am disappointed by the lack of internal communication, organization, and professionalism displayed by the Landmark Honda service department during my recent visit. This is now the second time I have experienced a complete failure by this department to communicate effectively and call me back when my vehicle was ready. I scheduled a firm 8:45 AM Monday appointment because my vehicle would not start. After jumpstarting it, I dropped it off safely on the lot overnight. The following morning, I received a barrage of text messages from a service member demanding I come move my vehicle. Had anyone simply reviewed my scheduled appointment details or the intake log, they would have known exactly why the vehicle was there. When I arrived to resolve the issue, the advisor was dismissive, failed to listen, and asked, "What do you want me to do with the car?" given that it was a clear battery issue. When I requested a battery replacement and reminded him of my 8:45 AM appointment slot, I was met with pushback about other cars being ahead of me--defeating the entire purpose of scheduling a morning appointment. I was assured the vehicle would be ready by 11:30 AM. When I called for an update at 12:00 PM, my advisor did not answer. I had to bypass him entirely and call the main dealership line just to get an associate to locate him. Only after this escalation did he call me back with an apology, stating the car would suddenly be ready in 20 minutes. The lack of basic communication, disregard for scheduled timeslots, and poor tracking of vehicles on the lot make for a highly unprofessional customer experience. Because this is a repeat offense regarding communication, Landmark Honda needs to drastically overhaul its service coordination and customer service accountability.

After totaling my 2021 RX, I was not looking forward to purchasing another vehicle, and my anxiety was extremely high throughout the process. Mario, my Lexus sales expert, was beyond patient with me from start to finish. Over the course of two weeks, he took every phone call, answered every email, and always made time during my visits to answer my many questions. He allowed me to test drive multiple vehicles until I felt completely comfortable and confident in my decision. He went above and beyond in ways that truly mattered. I was still dealing with a rental vehicle, and Mario personally facilitated communication regarding the return because Enterprise never came to pick it up. He kept me updated the entire time. The day I purchased my vehicle, I was there all day, and Mario remained patient, accommodating, and professional the entire time. He even ordered me a delicious pizza from next door and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. Even after the purchase, he continued to check in on me. I accidentally left my handicap placard in the rental vehicle, and Mario kept it safe and mailed it to me when I was unable to pick it up right away. The entire team made sure I fully understood my purchase, and the finance team was amazing as well. This level of customer care, patience, and professionalism is rare. I truly love my experience every single time.

Generally prompt service. But, I recently had a passenger window replaced. A month or so my passenger door actually almost fell off as a number of screws had fallen out causing the door not to close properly...then weeks later it wouldn't close at all as the door had completely dropped down. I returned to the Acura Repairs and explained the situation and showed them how the door literally was falling off. The manager said they did not/would not repair the door (and, of course denied their mechanics had not caused my door to loose the screws).. And, recommended that I go to an auto body shop to have it repaired! So, I went home, looked up 2004 Acura on the web and what do you know, several sites popped up: Acura Parts and Acura Club. The guys were so helpful, others advised me that I needed to buy the size of the screws, also the particular screw driver. I ordered 4 screws at the cost of $8.00 (four dollars was the postal price). In a few days the screws arrived and my husband just screwed the passenger door in place. It all worked out beautifully....but wouldn't you have thought Acura Dealers would have had the expertise to have done that? Zero stars for my last visit as I have lost trust in their ability to do what's right!!

That's the issue w/ Koons Ford Falls Church. Our '25 Bronco w/ 2k miles was due for 2 recalls and an oil change (due to time). I would normally have gone to Ted Britt Fairfax, but Koons offers a free pickup/dropoff service that was too convenient to pass up. I sign up for a service appointment and request valet pickup/dropoff. It's important to note, I live on Frederick St SW in Vienna. They pick up the car roughly a half hour late. No biggie. I get a text from the service advisor confirming the work to be done -- oil change, tire rotation, recalls. This is at roughly 11am. 4pm, I get a call from a different service advisor asking why I missed my appointment. Turns out, they didn't realize they had my car for 5 hours. I confirm with him that all they are doing is an oil change, tire rotation, and the 2 open recalls. He said yes, they are in the process of replacing my backup camera. Woah woah woah. Although there is an open Ford recall on backup cameras, my year/VIN is not affected. My car's backup camera is fine. He goes quiet, and says he'll "be right back." He comes back and apologizes, and says yes, they will do the oil change, tire rotation, and the *correct* recalls. That night, I get notified from Koons that they "completed the state inspection I requested" and recommend a $180 wheel alignment. First off, the car has 1800 miles and is a year old. It absolutely does not need an alignment. Second off, our inspection was valid until August and it's June. I didn't ask for or approve a state inspection. Third, I had just removed the sticker since we're moving to Florida and they don't need inspection stickers, and now I'll need to take it off again. My service advisor calls me the next morning, saying he assumed I wanted an inspection 'since I was due.' There's no feasible way the car was due, since it was manufactured in August of '25 and it's June 2026. I talk with a different service advisor the following morning, who is apologetic and says they won't charge me for the inspection, says everything was completed, and says the car will be on its way back to me. I get a call that my car was dropped off. I walk outside my house, and see no car. I'm talking with the valet on the phone, and he says "yeah, I dropped it off at S Frederick St in Arlington." It took all my willpower to not yell "that is not the same thing as Frederick St SW in Vienna!" He said oh, your service advisor gave me the wrong address. Okay, so, first they didn't realize they had my car; second, they were about to do the wrong recall work on it. Third, they did work that WAS NOT AUTHORIZED. Fourth, they recommended work that was not needed and was a complete scam. Fifth, they DROPPED THE CAR OFF IN THE WRONG CITY.

UPDATE: After posting this review, I received a call from…read more Melvin Reyes, Assistant Service Manager. He gave me a credit for the services that I felt I was misled about. I'm altering this review from 1 to 3 stars because I want to credit the dealership for making this right. But I'll leave the original post for the record. ORIGINAL POST I've been servicing my car at BMW of Alexandria for about 10 years, and up until now I've generally found the advisors to be straightforward about what is actually required versus what is optional. That's why this experience was so disappointing. At a recent visit, I brought in my 2021 BMW 330i (about 25,000 miles) for a recall and routine service. My advisor, Jhett Nealy, recommended several additional services and presented them in a way that clearly implied they were appropriate and timely for my vehicle. Based on that representation, I approved them. Those services included a coolant system service and a fuel injector cleaning--together several hundred dollars. Only after the fact, when I took the time to review BMW's actual maintenance guidance, did it become clear that neither of these services is part of BMW's condition-based maintenance schedule at this mileage. In other words, these were discretionary, dealer-driven services--not manufacturer-recommended maintenance for a 25k-mile car. I followed up with the dealership over text, and the responses I received (which read very much like AI-generated boilerplate, but regardless represent the dealership's position) only made things worse. Instead of pointing to BMW documentation, they justified the services by saying "Google" and "most BMW owners" recommend doing them around 30k miles--and even suggested doing injector cleaning every 20k miles due to "local driving conditions." That's simply not credible. A basic search shows widely inconsistent, non-BMW sources--generally suggesting 30k-45k miles for injector service, not 20k--and no standardized interval at all for coolant. More importantly, none of that is BMW guidance. Substituting internet opinion for manufacturer recommendations, and presenting that as "recommended maintenance," is misleading. The core issue here is not that optional services exist--it's that they were presented as if they were appropriate and necessary at this mileage. That crosses a line. When a customer is relying on the advisor's expertise, that distinction matters. By the time I fully understood what had happened, the work was already done. At that point, it's not a conversation--it's a sunk cost. Trust is everything in a service relationship, especially at a dealership. For years, I felt BMW of Alexandria largely respected that. This experience with Jhett did the opposite. If this is now how the service department operates--blurring the line between required maintenance and revenue-driven recommendations--then I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm sharing this so other customers can make informed decisions and ask more pointed questions before approving work.

I purchased a BMW X5 from BMW Alexandria in 2021 and have followed the recommended maintenance…read moreschedule diligently, addressing all items identified during multi-point inspections. In early June 2026, I brought the vehicle in for a multi-point inspection and was quoted more than $6,000 for necessary repairs. Understanding that BMW maintenance carries a premium, I authorized the work. The repairs included replacement of the water pump. Unfortunately, the day after I picked up the vehicle, it developed a significant coolant leak that rendered it undrivable. The dealership promptly arranged for towing, which I appreciated. Upon further diagnosis, the dealership identified a major coolant leak from the component carrier, requiring an additional $4,700 in repairs. While the component carrier itself costs approximately $700, the majority of the expense was labor--roughly 15 hours--because the engine had to be removed again. I was disappointed that this second issue was not identified during the original multi-point inspection. Had it been caught at that time, the substantial extra labor costs could have been avoided. Although the service manager indicated the problem did not exist during the initial inspection, I have since researched the issue and consulted an independent expert. Both sources indicate that the water pump and component carrier issues are closely related, suggesting the problem was either already present or was caused during the water pump replacement. I discussed the matter with the service manager, who kindly reduced the additional charge to $3,500. Still concerned about the overall situation, I reached out to the General Manager, Omar Stwodah, via both phone and email. Unfortunately, I have not received any response or even an acknowledgment of my messages. I truly love my BMW X5 and value the brand. However, these back-to-back repairs totaling over $10,700 feel excessive. As a loyal customer, I expect a comprehensive multi-point inspection to identify major issues before the vehicle leaves the service department. I also believe customers deserve the courtesy of a response when they contact senior management.
