I bought a vehicle here about a month ago. While the car itself is fine, the post-sale customer…read moreservice has been extremely disappointing. On the day of purchase, I had the vehicle inspected and immediately emailed the copy to my sales rep, Anthony who confirmed receipt. That same day, I spoke with Anthony to let him know I accidentally left my EZ Pass in my trade-in. He assured me it would be mailed back to me. Two weeks later, I followed up on the EZ Pass and was told my someone, didn't catch his name, that Anthony would send it out. Three weeks in, I called to check on my hard plates. The title department claimed they never received my inspection report. I re-sent it directly to the title clerk, and she confirmed receipt. I also reminded her about the EZ Pass, and she would have it included in the mail along with my plates. A few days before my temp tags expired, the title clerk called asking for the inspection report. I reminded her that I resent it to her, and she confirmed. She double checked and confirmed that she did in fact have it. I received my plates a few days later, but the EZ Pass was missing--despite multiple assurances it would be included. Since then, I've called repeatedly to get this resolved. My original sales rep is no longer at this location, and neither "Alfonzo" nor "Shawn" have returned my messages that I've left with the sales reps. Now here's my thing, if you couldn't or was not going to send me the ez pass, just tell me; stop misleading me and wasting my time. The car purchase went ok, but the lack of internal communication, lost documentation, and unreturned phone calls was extremely disappointing. They lost a customer and future referrals.

This place had good reviews, so first I called to see what the wait was like, then drove over. The person I spoke to on the phone was pleasant. When I arrived, they asked me to scan a QR code to check in, that was neat. Although I went in for just an emissions inspection, the person who checked me in saw that my state inspection was due soon and suggested getting that done as well which I agreed to. Then I sat in the waiting area in the back and worked a bit. I wish I'd taken a picture of the waiting area before others arrived because it was so cute! It was decorated with a beach theme and there were small couches and arm chairs and games to play. I think the emissions and safety inspection took about an hour or a little more. When they finished the person who checked me out was also pleasant and chatty. He was reviewing my vehicle and what services I needed and I commented that it was much less than what my dealer recommended. He was very professional and said that the dealer might be more conservative but he believes in only getting what's necessary. I appreciated his take, and especially that he didn't feel the need to talk negatively about a competitor. I will absolutely be back to get my car serviced. It was a pleasant experience with pleasant people!

I guess it's because my car is newer and they can't make money off state and emissions inspections unless cars are older usually. I called here before I went and they only had one car ahead of mine. When I showed up to the shop, there was someone working on another vehicle but was very friendly to me and asked me to wait while he looks at my car. I was dome in 30 minutes and was on my way! While waiting at the shop, I also overheard the mechanics conversation with a customer where they needed a costly car part replaced, and he even went ahead and called the manufacturer for the customer to see if there was still a warranty on the part. He also came up with other alternatives. A customer could use to pay for the expensive part. I've never seen a mechanic go this far for a customer before and it makes me want to come back in case there's ever issues with my car.

I usually don't look forward to dealing with car salesman but Trevon gave off good vibes and it was a breath of fresh air to be honest. 6/29/2026 SERVICE REVIEW: Took the Honda in with some A/C issues before some of the hottest days we've had on record. David and the rest of the service team had me back on the road with in no time (update: they never actually fixed the problem, they refilled the freon at a discounted price) 7/18/2026: UPDATED SERVICE REVIEW: Unfortunately the AC is no longer working properly. After the dye test apparently showed that there was no leak, I am now getting nothing but warm air being blown and will need to try another location. 8/3/2026 NEW UPDATED SERVICE REVIEW: Decided to take my car back to Landmark rather than another shop because a) I bought the defective car there, b) they were familiar with the issue, and c) they gave me a discounted price on a freon recharge and I know this can be expensive. I dropped my car off and they held onto it all week and kept my car running for the better part of that week to identify where the leak was coming from. They were nice enough to refill the freon at no charge but not even two weeks later, the A/C is not working. I don't understand why they cannot fix the problem, there is obviously a leak because the freon was empty after they refilled it about a month later. I also don't appreciate the lack of professionalism at this place. I never received a follow-up call from anyone I spoke with to make sure the car was working properly and David the service person I dealt with talked to me like I'm an idiot, like I enjoy emptying my freon and taking it there to get it refilled and leaving myself with no car for an indefinite period of time. 8/22/2026: FINAL SERVICE REVIEW: Received a call and was asked to bring the defective car in once again and dropped it off on a Saturday. Got a call that Monday and the service tech finally discovered the issue - a leak from the evaporator core. They somehow missed this when they bought the car from whomever decided to dump their problem onto Landmark and I guess I did as well or maybe the freon was topped off in case a potential buyer tested the AC. The quoted price was way too high for me and the thought of paying the place to fix the problem they sold me rubs me the wrong way. I do not recommend this place. Whether they are aware they sold me a defective car or not is not important to me. I am now stuck with a defective car that is worth less than half of what I owe on it so trading it in for another car is not an option and I have to drive in one of the hottest summers that I can remember with no A/C. I am extremely frustrated with my purchase

Generally prompt service. But, I recently had a passenger window replaced. A month or so my passenger door actually almost fell off as a number of screws had fallen out causing the door not to close properly...then weeks later it wouldn't close at all as the door had completely dropped down. I returned to the Acura Repairs and explained the situation and showed them how the door literally was falling off. The manager said they did not/would not repair the door (and, of course denied their mechanics had not caused my door to loose the screws).. And, recommended that I go to an auto body shop to have it repaired! So, I went home, looked up 2004 Acura on the web and what do you know, several sites popped up: Acura Parts and Acura Club. The guys were so helpful, others advised me that I needed to buy the size of the screws, also the particular screw driver. I ordered 4 screws at the cost of $8.00 (four dollars was the postal price). In a few days the screws arrived and my husband just screwed the passenger door in place. It all worked out beautifully....but wouldn't you have thought Acura Dealers would have had the expertise to have done that? Zero stars for my last visit as I have lost trust in their ability to do what's right!!

Sometimes mistakes happen, and customers need to understand everyone is human…read more But when a multitude of mistakes happen, it becomes a sign of something bigger being wrong. That's the issue w/ Koons Ford Falls Church. Our '25 Bronco w/ 2k miles was due for 2 recalls and an oil change (due to time). I would normally have gone to Ted Britt Fairfax, but Koons offers a free pickup/dropoff service that was too convenient to pass up. I sign up for a service appointment and request valet pickup/dropoff. It's important to note, I live on Frederick St SW in Vienna. They pick up the car roughly a half hour late. No biggie. I get a text from the service advisor confirming the work to be done -- oil change, tire rotation, recalls. This is at roughly 11am. 4pm, I get a call from a different service advisor asking why I missed my appointment. Turns out, they didn't realize they had my car for 5 hours. I confirm with him that all they are doing is an oil change, tire rotation, and the 2 open recalls. He said yes, they are in the process of replacing my backup camera. Woah woah woah. Although there is an open Ford recall on backup cameras, my year/VIN is not affected. My car's backup camera is fine. He goes quiet, and says he'll "be right back." He comes back and apologizes, and says yes, they will do the oil change, tire rotation, and the *correct* recalls. That night, I get notified from Koons that they "completed the state inspection I requested" and recommend a $180 wheel alignment. First off, the car has 1800 miles and is a year old. It absolutely does not need an alignment. Second off, our inspection was valid until August and it's June. I didn't ask for or approve a state inspection. Third, I had just removed the sticker since we're moving to Florida and they don't need inspection stickers, and now I'll need to take it off again. My service advisor calls me the next morning, saying he assumed I wanted an inspection 'since I was due.' There's no feasible way the car was due, since it was manufactured in August of '25 and it's June 2026. I talk with a different service advisor the following morning, who is apologetic and says they won't charge me for the inspection, says everything was completed, and says the car will be on its way back to me. I get a call that my car was dropped off. I walk outside my house, and see no car. I'm talking with the valet on the phone, and he says "yeah, I dropped it off at S Frederick St in Arlington." It took all my willpower to not yell "that is not the same thing as Frederick St SW in Vienna!" He said oh, your service advisor gave me the wrong address. Okay, so, first they didn't realize they had my car; second, they were about to do the wrong recall work on it. Third, they did work that WAS NOT AUTHORIZED. Fourth, they recommended work that was not needed and was a complete scam. Fifth, they DROPPED THE CAR OFF IN THE WRONG CITY.

I'm altering this review from 1 to 3 stars because I want to credit the dealership for making this right. But I'll leave the original post for the record. ORIGINAL POST I've been servicing my car at BMW of Alexandria for about 10 years, and up until now I've generally found the advisors to be straightforward about what is actually required versus what is optional. That's why this experience was so disappointing. At a recent visit, I brought in my 2021 BMW 330i (about 25,000 miles) for a recall and routine service. My advisor, Jhett Nealy, recommended several additional services and presented them in a way that clearly implied they were appropriate and timely for my vehicle. Based on that representation, I approved them. Those services included a coolant system service and a fuel injector cleaning--together several hundred dollars. Only after the fact, when I took the time to review BMW's actual maintenance guidance, did it become clear that neither of these services is part of BMW's condition-based maintenance schedule at this mileage. In other words, these were discretionary, dealer-driven services--not manufacturer-recommended maintenance for a 25k-mile car. I followed up with the dealership over text, and the responses I received (which read very much like AI-generated boilerplate, but regardless represent the dealership's position) only made things worse. Instead of pointing to BMW documentation, they justified the services by saying "Google" and "most BMW owners" recommend doing them around 30k miles--and even suggested doing injector cleaning every 20k miles due to "local driving conditions." That's simply not credible. A basic search shows widely inconsistent, non-BMW sources--generally suggesting 30k-45k miles for injector service, not 20k--and no standardized interval at all for coolant. More importantly, none of that is BMW guidance. Substituting internet opinion for manufacturer recommendations, and presenting that as "recommended maintenance," is misleading. The core issue here is not that optional services exist--it's that they were presented as if they were appropriate and necessary at this mileage. That crosses a line. When a customer is relying on the advisor's expertise, that distinction matters. By the time I fully understood what had happened, the work was already done. At that point, it's not a conversation--it's a sunk cost. Trust is everything in a service relationship, especially at a dealership. For years, I felt BMW of Alexandria largely respected that. This experience with Jhett did the opposite. If this is now how the service department operates--blurring the line between required maintenance and revenue-driven recommendations--then I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm sharing this so other customers can make informed decisions and ask more pointed questions before approving work.
