Alexa's Cafe is a gem in Bothell! When I first looked at the menu many months ago I was disappointed that it didn't have any vegan options. My sister moved to the area and loved this spot, walking distance from her apartment, and I couldn't exactly go with her. Fast forward to this year, I saw the menu changed and now it's so vegan friendly! Now this is a must-stop every time I visit my sister in the area. Logistics: located on a pedestrian-only street with free street parking available all around, seating inside & out to enjoy the nice weather days. Drinks: I am a huge fan of the lattes, hot or iced - that is my go-to drink here. Everyone also loves the coffee (they use local Caffe Vita coffee). Food: so far I've had the California burrito, huevos rancheros, vegan egg sandwich, and veggie scramble - all vegan with the right substitutions (Just Egg for eggs, no cheese, etc.). When I got the California burrito I was really confused because it's not actually a burrito, more of a quesadilla - it was delicious. I wanted to get the Beyond breakfast sausage inside but they happened to be out of it that morning. Huevos Rancheros had amazing flavor. Scramble was delicious with veggies and toast on the side. Their roasted potatoes are fantastic though unfortunately not vegan as they are cooked in butter (I truly hope they change this and use a plant-based butter in the future!). For a non-vegan option, my sister loves the Benny's. Vibe: love the decor and atmosphere! It can get a bit crowded and loud when it's very busy but it's not overwhelming like some breakfast spots. Free wifi makes this a good spot to work from as well. read more

We were so pleased to find this cute little spot. We had to go out to kenmore so looked for somewhere we hadn't tried for breakfast. I had the crab cake Benny and my husband had the salmon. Both were delicious but we decided the crab was the better of the two. Our service was awesome and the prices are similar to anywhere else. Our waitress offered to get us cold brew to go also which really made our day. My husband actually had plans with his grandma the next day and ended up taking her to lunch here but he said the breakfast was his favorite. We'll be back! read more

Food is good but nothing out of the ordinary. Ambience is ok, but the service is speedy but has room for improvement. During the breakfast that my family and I had today, we noticed how different our waitress served us compared to the other tables around us. Don't get me wrong, the waitress said the basics "good morning", "thank you" etc. but nothing more. I felt like she was rushing me and my family to get us out of there ASAP. Service is really good. Friendly staff and often check our table. The place has a community feel with posters for local events (now of which for a date that past). The food is just okay. Most of the food we were serving tasted like they were cooked days early and reheated. The food wasn't awful but did seem freshly prepared. Poached eggs on the Benedict were overcooked as well. I swear they kept the air con on in November!! Kept my coat on & held on to my coffee mug to keep the hands warm!! There was no basic breakfast item: 2 eggs, home fries & protein. So I ordered all sides, came out to be over $22 w/ the coffee hand warmer. Home fries were busted, beacon felt like they were from the warmer. Egg yolks were flat. I'm generally fine with restaurant junk fees but what peeves me is when employees conceal them in every manner possible. For example, last week I did a take out and when I ordered there was no disclosure about the 15% service fee. When I went to sign the check I wasn't given an itemized bill but just a charge slip with a tip line. Of course I tipped because I had no idea. Now I generally tip VERY generously. Think 25-40% on $500 restaurant bills when I get great service. So I have no problem tipping Alexa's 20-30% for just preparing my food to go. But when they hide the junk/service fees from you through out the entire process? It just feels extremely scummy. This is the kind of behavior that's slowly turning someone who was ok with junk / service fees and tips extraordinarily well into someone who resents restaurant workers. Please be better. read more

I was excited to finally try this spot with a couple friends Saturday morning. We came right at opening, I walk my dog by here often and there is always tons of people so definitely recommend coming early. This is a cozy family restaurant, we had 2 babies with our group and it felt really kid friendly. The food was good although my friend said she wouldn't get the lox plate again, it tasted good but wasn't how bagels and lox typically come. I really enjoyed the eggs Benedict, their hollandaise is great and the side potatoes have a lot of flavor. They did a good job at keeping coffees refilled and we got our food quickly. My mother-in-law and I went to Alexa's Cafe for lunch the other day since we were already in downtown Bothell. We asked for indoor seating, but I did notice they have plentiful outdoor seating if desired. My MIL ordered the turkey sandwich on sourdough bread with a side of caesar salad. She rates it 10/10 and specifically enjoyed the softness of the sourdough and the fresh veggies. I ordered the Curry Chicken salad on a croissant with a side of fries. I loved the seasoning of the chicken salad, but I did feel that the croissant was over toasted and dry. I really enjoyed the fries and the zesty pickle! I always feel welcomed by the friendly staff at Alexa's! My wife had the fish tacos which had nice portions of fish that were not overpowered by the cole slaw or sauce. I was in the mood for breakfast at noon and my Alexa's Slam was decent though I wish I had gotten lunch instead. Pancakes were huge and tasty, but a bit tough, and likewise the eggs were a tad overdone. But they made my bacon crispy like I asked, so overall a pleasant meal. Yes, Alexa's Cafe is as good as it gets. It stands out against its competitors in the general area by it setting, quality of food, and independence. I am tired of the cafe setting with food pumped out "conveyor belt" style. I ordered the Pancake, Egg and Bacon breakfast (at lunch time). Not a complicated order, but it requires each element to be perfect to achieve a 5-star rating. I know the pancakes and eggs were cooked to order and the amazing bacon (superb quality) was the perfect crispness. And yes, the rest of the food served to my lunch companions was equally as good. I love the brick walls, assorted tables and chairs in the old Bothell setting. The staff is always great. Yes, I will be back. Let's start with the coffee cake. I had the coconut lemon, on a whim and it was incredible. Light, crispy, creamy... truly a work of art. They have 9 diff varieties, then breads and other treats. We got breakfast, eggs floretine, blueberry pancakes and veggie scramble. The blueberries were fresh, but I'm a crispy endogenous pancake person... these were a bit dense. Great place to meet friends for a weekend brunch. We come here often because the service is consistently efficient, tables clean and distanced properly, staff all wearing masks and gloves. They are all very warm gracious and friendly. The food taste great...can't go wrong. I love their drip coffee, nice and dark roast...just how I like it! They also have outdoor dining. Met family here for breakfast on a weekend specifically because we have vegans and non-vegans. Place was really busy but lots of seating and tons of workers, so service was really good and timely. Place has a welcoming, neighborhood breakfast place vibe. Everyone loved their food and the servings were generous even for the "small" portions. I was especially pleased with my vegan Just Egg veggie scramble. However, I was super disappointed that they cook their potatoes in butter so they cannot be made vegan. They did offer other veggie sides (I had zucchini) and it was delicious but didn't quite scratch that breakfast itch for a side of potatoes with my "eggs." I hope they will consider using oil or a vegan-friendly butter (or being able to order them that way) in the future. They do have non-dairy milk options for coffee. We went to Alexa's Cafe on a whim for a Saturday Brunch. We had to wait about ~20ish minutes, which wasn't bad at all. The space is quite charming and would make for an excellent event space, in addition to being a delightful spot for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. My part of two adults and two children ordered one Kids Farm Plate and one Kids Slam and the children absolutely loved the food. It's not very often that both kids join the 'clean plate club' at a restaurant, but both of them finished their food with a smile on their face (and they've asked to go back many times since), so I know it gets 10 stars from them. The adults ordered the Dad's Platter and then Farm Plate and both were solid breakfast choices. The potatoes were super crunchy, yet had a nice tender bite to the inside and the bacon and eggs were very well. It was a great breakfast spot at a very good price. It's a very good atmosphere, very nice service, and good food. It's a very good spot for friends and family alike to enjoy a nice casual breakfast or a fun brunch. read more
