I finally found out this is where Mr. Kevin Lee moved to his own salon. For a whole year I was sad because I couldn't find him. I went in last weekend to try something brand new; it was just time for a change with my long straight hair. I got a trim, perm, and color, which turned out very nicely. This does not happen very often for me, being happy after visiting a hair salon I mean. Mr. Kevin and his nice assistants gave me deep mahogany red waves, which he taught me how to style. His great results are why I looked for Mr. Kevin after he cut my hair over a year ago. No one else has given me hair that I love. The salon facilities are nice, too. There's a water dispenser and coffee bar in the waiting area along with sofas and magazines near a large sitting table. So I brought a family member here to get her hair colored... and she's been getting compliments on how natural her hair color is! There is no wait to get "seated" and get started with your service if you make an appointment. I've been here several times, as well as two members of my family, one male and one female, and have never had to wait longer than 3 minutes. You really don't get a chance to get through your junk mail when you come here. You might think it's because there is no customers but that isn't so. During my last visit here, I saw 5 different customers in a span of 60 minutes. Admittedly, one was paying upon my arrival, and another was "checking in" upon my departure. I LOVE this place. I noticed that my hair was falling out more than usual about 2 years ago and my friend recommended me this place because they have a procedure called "bubble spa", which is basically a deep scalp cleaning. Ever since then, I noticed that my hair is falling out less, especially in the shower. Kevin's wife is usually the one that does the bubble spa for me, which is basically an hour of deep cleaning and massage. Once it is all done, my hair feels nice and clean. She usually gives me great advice about how to keep my hair clean so that my hair doesn't fall out as much. I also get a haircut from Kevin every 6 months and as all the reviewers have mentioned, he is amazing. I usually give him a length that I want and he goes to work and works his magic. He is also the one that convinced me to get side bangs and he was right, it does look better for my face. Overall, a great place to go. read more

What you can expect from K Beauty: your gps might lead you to the wrong location, but don't worry you're near and if you're uncertain just give him a call. It's on the Arco side, you'll know what I mean once you're there. As far as your hair goes you bet it will be flawlessly executed by Kevin and his crew. Bring: cash money or credit cards ;) I'd also bring a few photos of what you'd like done to your hair. He did exactly what I wanted and tailored it to the shape of my head beautifully. The total time for my hair cut was almost 45 minutes. Kevin showed me techniques on how to style my hair. He works rapidly, but carefully. There's plenty of parking and it's a comfortable clean salon. I saw they also have a manicure table in the back so you can get your nails done too. Kevin's been my stylist for the past couple years and I'm finally getting around to writing my first review on Yelp! Glad it's for Kevin. I'd like to keep it short and simple, but there's a lot to say. I've been to a lot of different places during my search for a hair salon and Kevin was the the only stylist that I really liked. I have straight Asian hair and the back of my head is FLAT. I'm not joking. One of my friend used to make fun of me and used the back of my head as a table for his drink if I ever sat down looking at the floor. The back of my head is ridiculous, but the way Kevin cuts my hair gives the back of my head a more rounder shape. Kevin's a great stylist and I love how he can work with so many different styles. During these past years, he's done a great job when I asked him for a fauxhawk. Then I had a period where I wanted combovers. Then during my first year of college, a period of time when we all make bad decisions, I had some random student ruin my hair for $5. Well, Kevin helped fixed that up.. Now I'm going through this pompadour phase. When I started showing him pictures of models with pompadour haircuts, he recommended me to get a perm since my straight Asian hair was hard to style that way. I kept pushing it off because of the price, but I just finished finals and it's spring break, so I decided to do a spontaneous makeover. I have to say that I am VERY happy with the results. What makes me really happy to come here is not only do I get great haircuts, but I can see that Kevin truly loves doing what he does, and when he finished my haircut today, that smile on his face just showed me how proud he was. He's definitely earned my loyalty and he's the only person I recommend to my friends when they ask. Kevin definitely does major damage control. My mom won't trust anyone to touch her hair except him. I recently got a bad haircut at another salon. When I went to Kevin for help, my weird bob-mullet amalgamation was transformed into a cute bob with smooth side swept bangs. No more looking at the mirror and feeling sad! He speaks little English (or maybe he's just not a talker? Bummer, I wish I could converse.) but he lets his work speak for him. Definitely bring pictures to show what you want. He does a pretty good job getting it close. I can also say that he's good at taking on two clients but makes sure each looks their best (an applaudable feat!). His assistant has the gentlest fingers when she's styling your hair. It's amazing! Pricing is affordable. Women's haircut is $35-40. I'm still trying to find a stylist I can stick to, but this one seems like a keeper. read more

I guess Kevin has a great reputation, but I've only been to K Beauty for my nails. Angela occupies a comfortable corner of this salon, and she is a straight-up mani-pedi artisan. I've been three times now, twice for wedding events. The salon is in a nondescript strip mall in deep Northridge, but the interior is attractive, clean and welcoming. The mani-pedi stations are well kept, and Angela seems to run them by herself. She books up as a result. I've been thrilled with my nails every time I've left. I'd never gotten gel done before, and it is a production, but the nails last forever. Angela removed my first manicure with foil and alcohol (an awful process, really) and I just clipped my second, somewhat mournfully. I got a fancy French tip so while my nails were annoyingly long, they still looked great almost a month later. For my wedding, I got some simple nail art on fingers and toes. Angela did an amazing job, and it was pretty fun to watch her work. Gel manicures are expensive, but Angela's prices are comparatively reasonable. A gel manicure and a regular pedicure run $45. You could pay a lot more elsewhere, but your nails couldn't really look better. read more

I am new to the area and was trying to find a salon. The two stars are for two reasons 1. They were prompt and accommodating for my appointment 2. My stylist was nice. That's it. My blonde hair came out yellow on top (even though I told the stylist I wanted white blonde & my hair takes a while to set & tone. It was over $200 for a mediocre highlight job. Also, the stylist working next to mine was so sassy and rude in the way he was speaking in general and then to my stylist. He was almost shaming her for something she did and just generally not nice. It made me so uncomfortable. I will not be back, and I'll continue to look for a new salon where I get what I ask for ab the stylists don't bully each other or make customers feel uncomfortable. read more

The salon is now busy with other stylists who seemed to have moved from a non-Korean salon. I'm not sure if Kevin still owns the place but I'm glad he's there for now. I was a bit sad because I liked the cozy feeling of K Beauty/Leekaja. Kevin did a great job with my highlights and cut as usual, and his assistant was very sweet. If you're looking for a talented stylist look no further! Everybody that works here is so talented with great customer service! I was looking for a new salon and I'm so happy I found this place! From the minute I walked In, it was a great experience! I was first impressed with the beautiful decor but then I was also greeted with a delicious mimosa, which was a nice perk for this mom of 3 that doesn't get out much. Ruby, my stylist, really listened to what I was looking for and boy did she deliver. I was really nervous at first because often times I'm not satisfied with my hair color and I tend to be very picky. Since I'm hispanic my hair tends to go orange when the bleach is not toned right and I hate that! Ruby cut, colored and highlighted my hair and I was SO happy with the results. FINALLY KEVIN LEE MADE THE JUMP... he opened his own salon! How exciting!!!! He was previously at Lee Ka Ja Salon where I originally met Kevin and I guess he was then at Kim Sun Young Salon for a short period of time. Of all the korean salons Kevin has been amazing at cutting hair and the fact that he's the one highly recommended for both men and women. During his service, you get your hair washed, cut and styled for $35, UNBEATABLE if you ask me. The salon is located literally down the street from the Galleria Market in the plaza between McDonalds (yeah.. I know) and Arco gas station. FYI parking is horrible!!! I came in the parking structure and there was barely space to drive around to look for parking nor was there parking itself. So when you leave your place to head on over, I'd leave an extra 5-10 mins for cushion time just in case. Once you're in the salon you feel really welcomed, inside in nice and bright.. kinda makes you forgot about the parking situation. I was greeted by Kevin and showed him the look I wanted. 30-45 mins later.. I looked amazing from the cut and styling I wanted. Can't wait to come back.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Kevin is amazing! I usually have bad haircut experiences but I was in dire need of a haircut. After doing a lot of research, hearing from word of mouth, as well as my own sister's great experience, I decided to try this place. I just wanted a trim, a little layers for my long hair, and side swept bangs. Kevin definitely delivered and more! I am happy with the outcome! Worse place to go! Never use a regular scissor! She used the thinner scissor for the entire cut! Wtf?! I have never seen that before. Very unskilled. $25 for the cut. I only get my hair cut about twice a year, but when I do, I usually go to Kevin. I like him because he takes his time and pays close attention to detail. When I called to make an appointment with him last week, I found out that he had just opened a new salon near his previous salon, Lee Ka Ja. The new location is in the same lot as Shakeys and Northridge Fish & Chips. When I walked in for my appointment, I was greeted by a friendly stylist, who had me put on a robe for my shampoo (which is included in the $35 you pay for a haircut here). The decor of the salon is clean, modern and serene and the salon itself is small with a good layout. There was a mix-up with appointments, so I had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes for my haircut, but I didn't mind. Despite the extra wait, I was still out the door in an hour. Like usual, I showed Kevin a picture of the cut I wanted and he recreated it perfectly. While he was cutting my hair, I started texting on my phone and he stopped and switched out my plain smock for a smock with a clear pocket in the front so I could text without getting hair on my arms/phone. Awesome! In addition to haircuts, the salon also does manicures and pedicures. I think they offer other beauty services as well, but I didn't ask because I was just there for a cut. read more

I recently moved to Northridge and needed a new stylist. I had a great one in Burbank but I could no longer go during the day due to work. I asked Kevin for the same hair style, scissor cut, and an inch shorter. He then proceeded to chop most of my hair off. My former stylist layers my hair, but this guy just chopped it unevenly around the sides with a comb. I even left with one side burn an inch longer the other! What the heck? Did I land on a Japanese game show by mistake? I could have Flowbeed the hairstyle he gave me. It took me three months to grow out to the length I want. Now I have a poor standard Asian men's cut and am going to look like a tool all summer. Not worth the $25. I could have gone to any cheap salon to get butchered for $9. read more

This place is a gem! Ruby and her stylists are talented and top notch. The place was booming with clients in every chair. I got color, cut and blow dry by Ruby and it turned out amazing. I came in with a head full of brassy highlights and wanted to go back to my natural color. Ruby listened to what I wanted and delivered results that were nothing short of amazing. Finally! I now have my go-to hair place. Kevin cut my hair and he cut it exactly how I wanted it. I was weary at first because I thought my hair would only look nice in the first 24 hours, but even after washing it the cut still looked great on me without all the blowdrying, straightening and product. Very precise and knows what looks good on your face. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day (Saturday). Don't freak out if they answer phone in Korean, you have the right number. You're usually in and out in 30-40 mins for an easy trim. Wash/Dry is included in the price. Total was $35.00 plus tip read more

I love this place, simply because Kevin gives great cuts! He takes his time and provides feedback on the look you're trying to achieve. The staff members are quite friendly as well. They suggested that I receive the Bubble Spa treatment, which was designed to help remove buildup from the scalp and to also help with hair growth. I LOVED it! The treatment was so relaxing and I was able to see my little hair follicles, since they have this special high tech camera. The hair cut was $30, but well worth it since they treat you like royalty there! Even though I don't have tons of hair on my head (LOL) Kevin took his time and cut each strand carefully! First barber I have gone to in awhile that was not the pricey Etude Lounge in Koreatown. As many people here have suggested, I went with Kevin, who was the only barber present anyhow. I was only able to verbally describe what I wanted done, and despite a vague idea of what I would like, Kevin was able to give me a great rendition of what I was looking for. I have incredibly thick, wavy hair for an Asian, so I think he thinned it out a bit too much.
