I'm honestly not sure where to even begin. I showed a reference photo of the style I wanted, but the final result I received was completely different from what I asked for. For context, my hair is only shoulder-length, and I paid $350 including tip. The appointment lasted from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, so I was there for about 4 hours. Given the time, cost, and expectations, I was really hoping for a result close to the reference I provided. Unfortunately, the outcome did not match the style I wanted at all. The overall look, shape, and finish were quite different, and it wasn't what I had discussed beforehand. I understand that results can vary depending on hair condition and other factors, but I do think there should have been clearer communication if the style I wanted wasn't achievable with my hair length. Chelsea was my hair stylist. I wasn't feeling warm at this place. She had no personality and kinda rule to her customers. She basically cut and blow and out the door you go like in 10-15 minutes. I was paying $35 for the hair cut. The minute she charged me $40, $45 with tip. I said good bye. . It was time to go somewhere. read more

He took us right away, sent us to shampoo, and did an incredible job on our hair--exactly like the photos we showed him. We hadn't had a haircut in over a year, so this meant so much to us. I had been going to Paul on and off for years. Used to go every 3-4 months to get my A-Line bob cut done every time. (bob with gradual longer hair in front.) He is quick, doesn't hesitate to cut, knows his stuff well. They're Korean, English isn't their main language, but as long as you know how to convey exactly what you want, you should be fine. Showing the stylists a pic ref of what you want helps wonders. This time around, I mustered the courage to get my hair colored. Since I had gotten my hair colored elsewhere a year ago, so it grew out. I got a normal bob cut and peekaboo highlights (lowlights?) in grey. Got double bleached first, then toned. Took about 4 hours total. (Long time. I am assuming a gentle bleach was used to prevent hair breakage.) I am not much of a talker, so I appreciate that Paul just focuses on cutting or dying hair. The vibes is nice. It's clean, trendy music plays on the speakers, not too loud or overbearing. The assistant who shampoos your hair is gentle. I called 1st. This guy Paul said that the price for highlights for long hair is $100 and cut for $50. I told him when we arrived, it's only highlights. He charged me $120 which I questioned and he told me, well the hair is long. I told him, you told me earlier that the price is $100 which is also written on their price board. He now told me that highlights are expensive. He even told me that my daughter needs trim on her bangs but I need to do it myself. I told him for $120 over charged, yiu won't even trim my daughter's bangs? He said no. You do it. I will never ever ever go back to that salon!!!! read more

Brought my 17 yr old son for a trim, perm and highlight which took about 2 hr long but it was all worth it. The price was very fair and Joseph did an amazing job!!! I got a chemical burn on my scalp after a hair dye treatment at a salon. The area is red, painful and infections. my neck, ears, skin. I am still receiving medical treatment for the chemical brun. I made an appointment with hair designer but my hair was dyed by an unlicensed assistan who, as far as I understand, does not hold a professional cosmetology license.In addition, the assistant did not properly rinse out the dye, which left visible stains on my scalp and hair for days. I just visited this salon today after I got a massage next door. I paid $40 for haircut. It includes shampoo/wash, then haircut, blowdry and surprisingly Mr. Choi styled it too. I'm beyond satisfied with the service and my haircut. The salon is clean and well organized. I was able to meet the owner too she was very nice and friendly to me and the customers. I will definitely go back to try their hair color next time :) read more

I used to see Paul 10+ years ago when the salon was a few doors down, then tried a few different salons when I moved out of the area. I recently went back to tackle a huge long hair mess that was weighing me down and Paul naturally worked his magic. Within 15 minutes, he trimmed it down and layered it perfectly. I just had one of the worst haircuts that I wanted. I went to Paul and highly would NEVER recommend him to anyone! I gave inspiration photos and I wanted the shortest layer to be just like the picture which is longer than the shoulders. I didn't ask for my hair to be thinned out like a bob at the top, but that's what I got. And the bangs aren't anything like the pictures that I wanted which would have had long sides and shorter in the front. It might be someone else's style but this is not what I asked for and when I told him it didn't look like the picture, he argued saying it was the same when clearly the shortest part of my hair is above my shoulders. read more

Good with haircuts but don't bother going for any color job. I am appalled at the result that I refuse to even post pictures. I went for an A line long bob cut a few months back so I thought maybe I'd give her a try for color. I asked for a balayage and came back looking like I did this at home. HELL, I DID A BETTER JOB WHEN I BLEACHED MY HAIR AT HOME. I didn't realize how bad it was til I got home. It came out like total crap. Since my hair is pretty damaged from the bleach I'll be waiting a couple months to get this mess fixed elsewhere. I am so embarrassed to say I even paid that much for this hack job. So I've gone to Paul a few times for hair cuts and I've loved the cuts. With that said, I should have looked at the reviews before deciding to just go to him for coloring. I showed him the picture I wanted 3 times and had it open while he was coloring, he said "no problem." My hair came out nothing like what I wanted and he charged me $230!!!! for a pretty crappy job. He wasn't even suppose to dye my base and he tinted it. The blending? There was hardly any blending in the back... just straight bold streaks. Aaaand wanted an ombre blonde, but I have some gray strands "???" When I called rt after the appointment he said it'll fade in a couple days. (BS) I'm going to another stylist because I don't even trust him to fix it. BE AWARE DO NOT GO TO FOR COLORING!!! This is the first bad review I've ever posted in my life. I've been a regular customer at this salon and used various stylists and have been happy with their work every time. This time I called and made an appointment asking for a certain stylist. When I arrived, the person helping me, Karen, was not who I requested, but I decided to give her a chance, even though I don't care for her hair color and don't usually choose colorists with hair color I don't like. I was there for a haircut and a color retouch on my roots. I specifically told Karen that I wanted Ash tones not Red tones and showed her on the chart. When she started drying my hair, I saw blotchy red spots on the top of my head and my hair was completely uneven. I could've done a better job myself at home -- in fact I have on many occasions. I told her they needed to fix it, maybe tone it or do whatever they had to in order to even out the color on the top. They toned it and the person who washed it out said it was better. It's a semi permanent color so I don't know how long it will really last. Karen apologized and said to have a nice day. When I went to the register with Karen to pay, I thought she said $75 to Paul, the owner. But when I looked at the receipt it said $175. Karen went back to her station at that point and I told Paul I shouldn't have to pay for her mistake. He insisted I sign the receipt and basically started screaming at me with his mask not covering his nose...and we're in the middle of a pandemic. I finally just signed the receipt and left since I didn't want to be screamed at in the middle of a pandemic after getting my hair worked on for four hours. I could've done the same job myself with Esalon for $30. One of the worst experiences I can remember. read more

Okay in all honesty, I thought I was going to be writing a bad review, BUT I was super surprised with how my hair turned out!! Paul did a phenomenal job! At first, I thought I was screwed since like everyone there barely spoke English. Not only that, I had never gotten my hair done by a male. Paul seriously impressed me with my haircut and styling! Price was only 35$! Done deal! My only complaint is that I wish someone there was easier to understand and that Paul would take the time to REALLY comprehend what the client wants.
