I was initially contacted by Mark Shinner, owner, to schedule an estimate. Mark said his son Adam would be the person coming out. Mark did an initial measurement and quote. Once we agreed to the type and pricing for these Vistamark windows and a small down payment provided; Mark and Adam scheduled their installer to come out the following week. Scott came out about a week later to refine the measurements exactly. The windows were ordered shortly thereafter through their Waxahachie plant for Vistamark windows. Adam was available if needed but once the pricing was agreed upon there wasn't a lot of need for our interaction with a few exceptions. Adam responded promptly when text or called. In summary we are happy with these beautiful new, energy efficient windows, having replaced our builder grade windows from 24 years ago. Ok, finally get to write the review on this company. Salesman and owner Mark Shinners. The sales and follow through was good but the product not so good. I was sold me 21 Atrium Windows of which all had quality control and finish related problems from the Dallas Atrium Window plant. Of which 18 need fixes or repairs and several completely replaced. Flush mounted screws were not flush, bad windows, poorly constructed windows, windows were rough and unfinished with filings and shavings from the construction throughout, oozing sealant around windows, ripped screen, broken windows, etc. Just all around poor product due to poor quality control from manufacturer. However, Mark sold us products that he promised and it took 2.5 months to fix all that was wrong with the windows after being promised the job would take 2 weeks. Again, not the sales fault but the manufacturer. I think it was good that there was follow through and I wasn't left hanging but then again I wouldn't sell a product which had so many problems. I was assured that my situation was an isolated incident however, after seeing the product poor quality construction I believe that not to be completely the case. I believe it is because we paid only 20% down and was holding the additional 80% until we had a satisfactory job completion. I think we may have been left holding the bag if we had paid more down. I don't say this to slight the sales but I think the factory would not have had their feet held to the fire otherwise. Advice on repairs and construction, take pictures of all the problems for documentation, don't pay more than 20% down until job is completed to satisfaction (don't expect perfection but expect job to be completed as promised.). read more

I had called two other companies and they didn't even compare, especially with pricing, energy efficiency, and the full lifetime warranty. The installation only took one day for 14 windows! Statewide Energy Solutions: If you are like me, and I guess that many are, you are finding out that it is very hard to find a quality replacement window product, as well as a comfort level that the installation will be done with quality and professionalism. The replacement window industry seems to work very hard at making these decisions almost impossible by way of missing or misleading information. Simple Google searches will not leave you any wiser than before you started. There are many good products in the market and many not very good products in the market, but in the internet world, they all look about similar. I did some very extensive and deep research for over 2 weeks. My research included web based reviews as well as reaching out to various manufacturers and corresponding directly with them. The gist of my research boiled down to a few key points that were very relevant to my situation. Your situation may be different. Single hung are more dimensionally and structurally stable than double hung. Also, single hung is sealed better and have less moving parts. About every vinyl window manufacturer uses virgin vinyl. Most window manufacturers use Cardinal E-Glass or similar, but these come in different grades, so you need to decide which is right for you. In Texas, blocking heat is more important than blocking cold. So, there are many similar quality products to choose from. The next issue is the quality and reliability of the installation team. In my opinion, this is a very important fact that can easily be overlooked in the competitive low pricing scheme. I determined that you can buy a low end window with a quality installation and you will have many years of good use. Inversely, you can buy a high end product with a hack job installation, and you will have problems from day 1. After all was said and done, I chose Statewide Energy Solutions based on 3 criteria; Product quality, Installation team, and price. All 3 were extremely good and represented to me the Best Value. The quoting process with James, was very cordial and no sales pressure. He understand I was in the process of evaluation and not ready to make a decision yet. I simply wanted to see the product and the price to do my own research. James was great. Next point was the installation team. Statewide Energy Solutions install team is contracted, as they all are. Nobody has their own dedicated full time employee install crew. However, the install team works primarily for Statewide Energy Solutions on a continuous basis. The installer, Scott, also did all window measurements himself and participated actively in the installation and finishing. I am so relieved that Scott did the installation, as he was very professional, very detail oriented, and cleaned up everything before leaving my house. They even swept the front porch leaves, which had nothing to do with the window work. The purchasing process was very smooth and fast. Everything happened when they said and people showed up when they promised. COMPLAINTS WITH WORK PERFORMED (and not performed) BY STATEWIDE ENERGY SOLUTIONS (April 22, 2011) * East Front Bedroom / sewing room - Window installed not even, not level and gap between window casing (left side / inside). Outside, pieces cut from vinyl molding to cover large gaps (due to brick mortar knocked out around widow) outside. This window will need to be re-installed. * Front guest bedroom - sealant oozing out around inside of window (apparently, installers do not even inspect the windows prior to installing them) we are certain that the condition of the sealant will result in moisture problems. Again, outside, pieces cut from vinyl molding to cover large gaps (due to brick mortar knocked out around widow) outside (prior to covering the gaps, there was so much brick mortar removed that the wall studs were visible . * Front Living room - Wrong windows were installed (single hung rather than picture windows) as ordered and priced. Again, installers do not inspect or verify proper window type prior to actual installation). Windows are not installed properly due to noticeable wind coming in around windows. Proper windows will need to be re-installed. During the removal of old windows, installers used a large chisel, hammer, and pry bar causing excessive damage to outside brick window ledge (all bricks knocked loose - why don't installers use a cutting tool rather than beating them out causing additional damages?) brick ledge will need to be repaired by a qualified masonry company not the window installers! Damage was also caused to outside wood trim surrounding windows (wood trim will need to be renewed). * Front Den - Picture window that was brought to the house was the wrong color (white instead of almond). Salesman & installers blamed the manufacturer however; they had claimed that they had these windows for three weeks, prior to installation. Don't they inspect the product upon delivery to ensure order is correct and free of manufacturer defect prior to scheduling the installation? NOTE: We DO NOT want this window installed if Statewide is going to cause as much damage or the installation is going to be as poor as the remaining windows in front of the house. * Radiant barrier & addition of attic insulation was not done due to workers stating that the spray machine was not working. Winterization was only part completed (electrical outlets had a piece of foam installed however, nothing was done with the doors). Workers left without even advising us that the work was not going to be done. Had no idea it wasn't going to be done until I went into the attic and questioned the window installers myself. NOTE: also noticed that radiant barrier sprayed on front lawn & sidewalk. Additional comments: so far it is my opinion, that this company is very un-professional. Employee's were overheard commenting that they couldn't wait to complete work within minutes of starting. The attic workers made no attempt to advise me that they were here or that they left without doing the work scheduled. NOTE: worker advised that the equipment used is NOT the proper tool for applying the radiant barrier. Had the front windows been installed as well as the kitchen and rear windows, we would have been happy with our choice with the exception of all picture windows not received as requested. Appointment scheduled with Mark Shinners on Tuesday 4/26 to inspect defects & damage and discuss further handling. Payment to be withheld until job is satisfactorily completed. 4/26/11 - Met with Mark Shinners (meeting was everything but positive) He made numerous excuses on why the work was done the way it was and refused to accept responsibility until we threatened to pay for partial work and have another company complete the job. Only then was a different crew with a masonry company assigned to correct the damage and complete the job. We are still unsatisfied but we refuse to have any more dealings with this company. Our whole experience has been very positive. We had already had pitches from Sears, Home Depot, and Anderson Windows. Statewide had as good or better quality at a lower price. And more than just replacing the existing windows, Adam helped us choose the correct windows. For example, we replaced four single-hung windows which obstructed the view of our (fabulous) backyard with two picture windows that now yield a stunning view. Also, Adam let us know up front what all the costs would be, and what the schedule would be. Mark kept in contact with us, and before we knew it, we had beautiful new windows. Great product. The intial sales and product was OK. Our problem came in the caulking. For those of you looking to install new windows MAKE SURE they are using weather resistant caulk. I wish I would have asked for one of the caulk tubes. Unfortunately what when finished looked great 12 hours later was a nightmare for us. They fnished the window installation and 12 hours later it rained. If they would have used the proper caulk it would have easily been dry with no problem. It wasn't. The caulk turned mushy and ran into the brick. Mark was rather arrogrant about it until he himself came out and saw it. I would have preferred to have someone else fix it but Mark insisted that they finish the job properly as we had withheld payment. After 4 weeks of first using a brush, then a solvent and then hand brushing by 2 different people to try to fix the problem our brick texture is now damaged and obviously cannot be fixed. Quite disappointing, What started out as satisfaction has turned into complete distrust in the products that they claim to use. read more

Normally I don't write reviews but the service from this company was superior so I thought I would write one. My husband and I were looking for new windows and got several estimates because we knew it would be pricey, but ultimately went with Statewide because they offered both quality and a reasonable price. The salesman, Adam, was very personable and happy to accommodate us when we had to throw in a few extra windows last minute. I just received a call back from Statewide Energy Solutions and I am furious! If I could give them negative stars I would. My husband and I are getting estimates for replacement windows for our house. When I called Statewide, I got a recorded message so I left my name and phone number and requested a call back to set up an appointment. The person who called back wanted to know if I am a homeowner (yes) and then she asked if I am employed. I asked why she needed to know. She said it was to qualify me. I told her that I am not currently employed to which she asked if I am retired. I said no, I am not. Then she WOULDN'T connect me with their scheduler because I am not qualified. I said fine, if they don't want my business, I'm getting estimates from other companies, and I'll have one of them do the job. I am not employed, but my husband is. We do want to buy some replacement windows, and we have money in the bank to pay for them. I did not ask for Statewide to finance them; all I asked for was an estimate, then we will decide who we will have do the job for which we will pay cash. Statewide just got crossed off the list for what could have been a very profitable series of jobs. I want 5 windows replaced now, but eventually we want all of the windows in our house replaced- all 40 of them. read more

Not particularly pleased. I was not pleased with the delays of the install and the lack of communication during the process. It was one excuse after another. Once installed the windows were not checked or adjusted and I had to have the back out which took weeks. We could barely open most of the windows and once they came out, they had to reinstall one window and adjusted the others. They said the window opening as it moves upward is more narrow and that is what made the windows difficult to open. Finally beware of the financing company they use. It is Service Finance Company who charges 12.99% on their loans. When you call them to get information such as a payment change or a payoff, a recording comes on saying "This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information will be recorded and used to collect the debt. It is infuriating trying to get simple answers and being treated like a criminal. I would not recommend either company. read more
