Great and fast service. I have been there more than a handful of times and have not been disappointed. Staff is friendly and funny. I really enjoyed stopping by on my way to work. Parking was easy as I usually got there before 8am. Not sure how that situation is after. My go to's: plain bagel (lightly toasted) and plain schmear/ cream cheese. YUM! a vanilla latte with 4x espresso (yes, if I could, straight to my veins lol) and strawberry syrup. DELICIOUS! chocolate chip cookie (I think there was some type of nut as well, maybe macadamia or possibly walnut) soft and very chocolaty. Music was low which I appreciated at 730am. Tables clean. I don't remember if I've ever had Alfred before today but it was my first time at this location. I had their signature Iced Matchaga that has matcha and an assortment of mushroom powder. The color was dull and the taste leaned more towards milk. Their cold brew was OK. Service was good and staff members were cool. Their AC came in clutch during a hot day in LA. I'm not writing off Alfred forever but I will not be ordering their Iced Matchaga again. On to the next one. read more

LA is over saturated with coffee shops, so I was looking for something they did well, or differently. I was so disappointed with how lackluster my visit was. Baristas gave me the impression that they didn't want to be there. Their tone of voice and body language was off putting. For my order, I tried their "Sugar free World famous vanilla Latte" and I bet they're from mars because it definitely isn't famous on this one. Not sewage, but not I'm not recommending it. Told my coworker about my experience and she said the matcha is good! Maybe next time, if there is one. read more

This place is a HEALTH RISK. Received 4-day-old yogurts covered in mold. We order from Alfred's every week, and usually it's just missing food items, but this was disgusting. They gave us 3 expired yogurts, and this business couldn't care less. I got food poisoning last year from this same location. I would just take your money somewhere else. Went on a Sunday morning at around 7am. Parking was easy at that time. Any later... good luck! Walked in and saw the nice open sitting area with free wifi! Went into the ordering area It was nice and inviting. The person that helped me was helpful and kind :). The other worker there was more engaging for conversation and that was nice :)! I got the "world famous vanilla latte", a blue berry muffin and a steak burrito. The coffee was quite delicious! The muffin was crisp and fresh. She reminded me of an npc lol, just standing there and staring. Inside is nice, there's a good amount of seating. Coffee that actually tastes like coffee, what a novel idea! I was wandering through the Arts District and ducked into Alfred's. When I walked through the door I was surprised to smell coffee beans. I ordered the iced vanilla latte (the menu proudly calls it world famous), and my sister went for the matchaga )with oat milk) Mine was perfect, not too sweet so the espresso could shine through. The matchaga is a mix between a classic ceremonial Matcha and Chaga mushrooms and it was earthy and creamy. Needed an afternoon boost after getting out of traffic court. I drove by a few places but nothing seemed appealing, so I stopped into Alfrwd's. It wasn't crowded, which I liked, and to my surprise they still had drip coffee available -- something that's getting harder to find at a lot of cafés these days. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciate. Good service can make a big difference. I grabbed a drip coffee and it was excellent -- hot, smooth, and exactly what I needed. The place itself is very clean and has a couple of small tables if you want to sit and relax for a bit. The storefront is deceiving as there are is an open drinking/eating area when you walk inside. Connected is the ordering area with menus on the wall as well as a large pastry case. The friendly barista that helped me order was RJ. He recommended a Lavender Matcha latte which I ordered with oat milk and over ice; because the temperature at 2pm didn't lend itself to ANY warm beverages.
