After a long day at Comic-Con, Alfredo's Pizzeria was exactly what we were hoping for. If you're planning to visit, just know it's located next to Baja Betty's, a popular local bar. Since we went on a Saturday night during Comic-Con, I expected the area to be absolutely packed and parking to be a nightmare. It's street parking only, and before 10:00 PM you'll likely have to pay if you can even find a spot. Surprisingly, the street was much quieter than I expected. We arrived right around 10:00 PM and were lucky enough to find two parking spaces almost immediately. I'm not sure if Comic-Con pulled people elsewhere, but it was far less chaotic than I anticipated. We started by ordering pizza by the slice while waiting for our entrées. My husband and my sister-in-law both ordered the Supreme slice, and I chose the ricotta and basil slice. All three of us agreed the pizza was delicious. The crust had a great texture, the toppings were generous, and it was the perfect way to start the meal. For our entrées, my husband ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, my sister-in-law had the penne alla vodka, and I asked if they could make me a custom pesto chicken Alfredo fettuccine that wasn't actually on the menu. Since I'm pregnant and had been craving pesto Alfredo, they happily accommodated my request without hesitation, which I really appreciated. Each pasta entrée also came with two large slices of garlic bread, making the portions even more generous. My customized pesto chicken fettuccine Alfredo completely hit the spot. The Alfredo and pesto combination was exactly what I had been craving, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the pasta was cooked al dente. The serving was huge, so I had plenty to take home. It also reheated beautifully for lunch two days later and tasted just as delicious as it did the night we ate there. Before leaving, I grabbed two containers of their homemade baklava, and I'm so glad I did. You can absolutely tell it's made from scratch. It was incredibly flaky with a great balance of pistachio and honey. Sweet, but not overwhelmingly sugary. Easily some of the better baklava I've had. Even though the restaurant was incredibly busy with a constant stream of walk-in customers grabbing pizza by the slice and picking up orders, the staff never made us feel overlooked. We were checked on regularly, everyone was friendly, and the service stayed attentive despite how busy they were. One helpful thing to know: if you're dining in, drinks are canned sodas or bottled beverages. They also have 2-liter sodas available if you're ordering a whole pizza or taking food to go. Between the delicious pizza, generous portions, accommodating staff, excellent service, and fantastic homemade baklava, Alfredo's Pizzeria easily earned 5/5 stars from me. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm south. read more

Last night we ended up at Alfredo's Pizzeria in Hillcrest, and honestly... what a gem. It was late... they're open till 2am!!! and the place still had this easy, welcoming energy. Zain greeted us at the counter and turns out he's also the cook, which somehow made everything feel even more personal. The pizza slices were so good. Big, flavorful, not greasy, just... right. The buffalo chicken slice in particular? Perfect amount of heat, great texture, super satisfying. I also ordered the chicken piccata, and they actually made the pasta al dente, which almost never happens at a late‑night spot. Creamy, bright, delicious sauce. Zero notes. They had 80s nightclub tracks and Italian dance hits (Felicità, Sarà perché ti amo!!) playing the whole time, and it just worked. Fun, nostalgic, a little chaotic in the best way. Prices are decent, especially for Hillcrest, and the menu has way more than you'd expect... pizzas, pastas, subs, wings, salads, all the classics. Definitely added to our late night circuit. read more

We ordered an XL supreme pizza, greek salad, cheesecake slice, and Tiramisu. The pizza was new york style, large thin crust pizza slices, lots of veggies and meat toppings, probably more veggie than meat. It was a great tasting pizza and the salad was a good size to share. We ordered dinner last night and it took about 2 hours to be completed, much longer than we were initially told. By the time the food came everything was cold and tasted poorly. I would dissuade anyone from trying this restaurant. read more

The Penne Alla Vodka was absolutely amazing. I am very pleased with Alfredo's Pizzeria. Some people say the garlic bread isn't crunchy enough but I hate when garlic bread get too crunchy cuz it be getting crumbs in places I didn't know crumbs could travel to. This bread is soft and captures the extra sauce in your bowl perfectly. If you read any hate reviews just know they doing it for attention and this place is awesome. read more

This is one of our favorite places in Hillcrest. The food is tasty and the servings generous, the service friendly and prompt. When we walked in, the music was too loud (and not to our taste), but the waiter readily agreed to turn the volume down. Most of their business appears to be take out. Though there's clearly a late night slice crowd, eating at a normal dinner time is kinda fun too. They have booths, so it feels like a real pizzeria. Plus it's nice getting it fresh out of the oven, instead of waiting for it to cool with delivery or take out. Stromboli: Surprisingly very good, considering stromboli is hard for pizzerias to get right. Lots of great meat slices. Lots of cheese. Rolled over a few times in a nice dough. Love the generous amount of sauce given to dip this in. Meat Lovers (X-Large): So many different types of meats! I think they might have even added ones that weren't listed on the menu. It's a little heavy with all the toppings, so hard to eat holding. Instead of using a fork and knife, I kinda just lifted the plate to my mouth and slid a corner over the edge to eat. I've never had someone chase me down the sidewalk just to tell me the bathrooms are for customers only. I'm new to the area and was walking around looking for a place to eat. I walked in, looked at the display of pizza and decided to come back another time (there was no employee behind counter) so I left. The next thing I know an employee had followed me down the sidewalk telling me I couldn't use the bathroom because it was for customers only. I just finished eating one of their plain cheese calzones, approximately $16 with tax as of spring 2026. Wow! This calzone is one of the best things I've ever eaten, not going to lie! It's crunchy, cheesy, hot and the flavors are creamy and buttery, salty and a slight sweetness from the ricotta cheese. Dipping it in the warm marinara sauce takes it to the next level, but really isn't even necessary. It almost reminds me of the flavors of fettuccine alfredo wrapped up in a crispy flaky crust, so yummy! If it's late at night (or anytime really) and you're hungry, don't hesitate to place an order at Alfredo's pizzeria. read more

After our spending the day outside with the family outing, we had a late night craving for pizza. We try to order from local favorites, when traveling. This came with great reviews and didn't have a long wait. Using UberEats, we had this delivered in less than an hour. The food was super hot - like they just pulled it from the oven. Pizza was okay while the w spaghetti was a bit better. Overall, we've had better pizza from other nearby places but this place wasn't bad. They did forget to give us our ranch dressing, so I can't give a full rating on the salad. This is a good place to order/eat from but there are better. I like to judge places based on how they treat people like they think the group is intoxicated. Be warily of the person taking of food orders save there is advantage of people taken oraders. She tries to upcharge. And sneak in items that weren't originally asked for. Otherwise pizza is good. Just don't like the approach, but I just went with it. Great place otherwise.
